Honestly, this anime is just simple and wholesome. It leaves a warm fuzzy feeling in your chest, where you watch it and that’s all that matters. I like that the main character is not overpowered at all, even if she has thick plot armor. I thought her relationship with all the adults around her in the later half of the series was very nice and it gave her that parental experience she was kind of needing in her life after being cast aside. This show doesn’t really explain things too well but that’s not what it’s trying to do and I think what it’s trying ... to do is done extremely well. It is a very calming anime and I don’t really think it’s for a very mature audience. I feel like it’s for more of a child audience, but it’s still rather nice and I do recommend watching it if you just want something cute and wholesome.

it is a nice anime although ivy is too shy and underestimate herself too much like she played a major role in taking down the organisation be pround you are strong😂 but anyways it is a wholesome anime with good character developement and nicely designed backstory
i think character design was very good and like animation was great because unlike this anime mostly anime nowadays use too much cgi..like i know they have limited budget but itz like some have really bad merging and cgi feels too much artificial and even though there were so many character each character was well designed despite their different looks ... and style like many animes use similar character design like face structure and other but this anime especially excelled in terms of character design....thats all i guess even though i have a lot more to say

First, ignore the "crossdressing" tag in themes, it makes no sense to be there. I know progs love to rush these ideas but this anime isn't about that.
If you want to watch this anime, stand firm till ep 3 or 4. The first ones can be pretty weird and you may feel like you should drop it. But this gets really interesting later on. The way they did the isekai part is very interesting. Not your typical way.
The art is decent and all the characters are pretty nice. They dealt well with all the characters, there aren't inconsistencies in their histories.
The VAs are well chosen ... as well.
The anime really leaves you hoping for a 2nd season because Ivy is such a good character.

This anime has a cute but sad story about a girl abandoned by her village, and now she is traveling to find her place in this world. The first episode may seem to you as weak, and maybe you will want to drop it, but in the second-third episode, it will be much better.

The main character development is quite good, you can see how she changes slowly during the anime from episode to episode. She learns something new from each encounter, and even though it is an "isekai" it doesn't feel like an isekai; especially because not even once you see the previous life of ... the Isekai MC, it looks more like a "split personality" when the MC soul and the Isekai soul live in the same body and communicate via thoughts.

The art in the anime is really good, the whole world is pleasing to the eye, and the animation is splendid. However, the side characters are less impressive. It seems like the main focus of the art is the world, the main character, and everyone who is important to her. The music is nice, I don't think it's super good, but it's nice and you can feel they tried their best with the OST.

The world of the anime is not explained too much, the MC almost doesn't talk about the world, I guess because she is just a kid. However, they did it in a way so you slowly understand some parts of the world from what other people or the MC say, or think about; still would be nice if they explained a bit more about the whole magic system.

Overall I enjoyed the show, I think if you liked Mashouko Tensei's or Frieren's storytelling there is a big chance you might love it too.

This anime was super adorable and wholesome. It's just a young girl finding out that she can have friends and parental figures who do love her, despite her zero stars. Not to mention, Sora is adorable. You can't help but cheer for Sora and Ivy as soon as you meet them. I did like the first half of this series more, but the second half was still enjoyable. The isekai aspect of the plot made isn't super expanded on yet, other than Ivy's past life giving her ideas from the current world. The art and character designs were great. Highly recommend!

Lighthearted Isekai, Disappointing Execution

Even when I finished the show, it still didn't feel like a true Isekai. The otherworldly "reborn into another world" plot was introduced at the beginning with a secret the protagonist, Ivy, was told to keep. There was also a mention of a deeper dive into this plot while recalling a bedtime story from her early childhood, but this thread was quickly dropped and only came up briefly with no real impact on the story. Essentially, if it weren't for the initial mention of being from another world, the story would play out the same. I'm guessing this aspect is explored further ... in the manga.

The main character, Ivy, has a tragic backstory. By the age of 5, she was expelled from her village after being branded cursed by the gods due to her 0-star taming skill. Hunted and wanted dead by the town leader, we later discover this leader was responsible for killing her friend and "teacher" and pinning the blame on Ivy.

I really enjoyed Ivy's story and following her growth throughout the series, from her unique design to how she deals with challenges.

However, the plot had some issues. Despite interesting characters, the focus seemed to be more on the journey to the capital than on character development. There was also a child trafficking ring crime mystery twist introduced in the town near the capital, which felt like a detour and dragged on for too long.

Another interesting mechanic was Sora, the slime, who could heal injuries by consuming potions and gain stats from them. This ability started out promising but wasn't explored further. Notably, the healing ability was overshadowed by Sora's "truth ability," which allowed it to detect if someone was good or bad. This plot point, used to identify watchmen involved in the trafficking ring, felt repetitive.

The story ends on a positive note with the town saved and Ivy and Sora continuing their journey. They've gained acceptance for who they are, and Ivy has found new friendships. However, the series concludes with a reminder of the cat monster she tamed at the beginning, a character who remained completely useless and only appeared sporadically. This reinforces the feeling of a story with interesting elements that weren't fully developed, creating a sense of wasted potential. Finally, if you watch the dub, be warned: the cat's voice acting is particularly grating.

I definitely want season 2, it's good enough for that and that is why I'm writing this review. Well, in short, if you like the combination of slice of life and isekai adventure, this is for you.

In term of isekai genre, this anime is quite refreshing and unique from typical isekai anime. The protagonist is portrayed weak just as the title promised, and unlike typical reincarnation the MC doesn't retain full memory of her previous life, she is properly herself with her personality and traits, she only has bits of thoughts as things happening around her as if she has second self in her mind, ... and the anime is portrayed as if you (the audience) are her second self, so occasionally she would talk to you (the audience) in a FPS POV way.

Though, I must say this might be not everyone's cup of tea and might be boring for some people, I just can't deny the differentness this anime provide, if you are open minded this anime is actually quite good. At least in my experience, I get the feeling of comfort watching it, it has this wholesome vibe. Despite the theme of the world being in the setting of typical RPG world, there isn't much fighting, almost none, this anime is not an action anime, instead, it's just very chill adventure anime, it's a bit slow paced, and personally I would say this anime should be a 2 cour anime instead of just 1, it's good enough for that, but also considering the story arc it's also good as is and I wouldn't complain.

In general, this is a very relaxing anime. While the first episodes are a bit of a drag, it picks it up quickly and provides a lot of fun! There are some story threads that have inconclusive and/or disappointing ends, it only takes away very little from the rest of the interactions in the show. Not combat heavy, it mainly relies on characters and their interactions, which is a nice change of pace from many other Isekai, which are bloated with combat.

This anime is by no means a masterpiece. So then why did I give it a 10? Because, for some reason, I fell in love with the story. Let me just say, it will be a pretty nice surprise. The studio behind it is new, I think this is their first big anime, an actual season, so that's also another reason I gave it a 10, because I feel like this studio can deliver high stuff in the future and I want to show some support, even if it might be considered insignificant.

Now to talk about this anime and its story a bit. ... At first, it will seem a bit absurd to some, especially the acts that adults make and the decisions they take, but don't forget, history can show you that those actions are not that absurd compared to reality. Seeing the FMC losing everything, coming to terms with it, trying to live with the little motivation she has, going a journey as in like a last hope, yes, sounds pretty basic. But the storytelling for me did it. At first it seems a bit... static? Like it kinda moves sometimes from one idea to another, pretty fast, sometimes repeating certain aspects of how the FMC feels, but it's done in such a way that you will still be okay with it, or at least I was. Later on it becomes a bit more linear, flowing better, especially in the second half of the season. Ig what made me fall in love are also the mature aspects of the story, and how they are not afraid to show them, to some extent. Also, the "isekai" part is done in an unique way that I haven't seen in other isekais. You won't be dissapointed about it, that's for sure (I don't wanna spoil it).

Kinda what I wanted to see more was the philosophical aspect of the journey, but ig for that I might have to read the light novel... Which I will do when it is finished. :) I heard it adapted only 2 light novels, but changed quite a bit, which I can't say I'm glad to hear...

The art does have some moments where you can guess they were done cuz budget and time (having long scenes where the head is 85% of the screen for example), but I was okay with them. The monsters were pretty well drawn for the most part and the characters as well. No weird CGI that I can remember that bothered me. But overall, I was realy impressed by the quality of it, especially some shots.

The OP is quite the banger, parts of it are really well made, top tier... well, given what the studio worked on, no wonder about that part.

There are quite a few characters in this show, cuz y'know, journey, most being easily identified and seen their type, but they're still done in a satisfying way. The FMC will be some fresh air for y'all, that's for sure.

Right now it has 7.56 from 31.062 votes Ranked #1646 Popularity #2447 Members 76,037. My mark is VERY biased, but I kinda gave up on mal marks anyway to a certain degree. I just want to highlight this anime trough this mark, and try to show some kind of support for the studio. It's an interesting journey about self-discovery/self-acceptance done in a world that seems quite big and full of potential, which is touched to a certain degree. Not top of the line stuff, ofc, but for me, it hit right where I wanted cuz of the storytelling. Highly recommend to people that want something that is a tad bit more mature and goes on the idea of adventure/journey. For me, it put a big smile on my face quite a lot of times, so there's also that wholesome element in it.

Start with the most overused concept of being the weakest and outcast character, it slowly become more and more enjoyable with each episode. Meet new people with new conflict in her journey, and helping those people solve their problem. Sounds classic right? Well yes, but at least it well written with a good pacing.

I saw someone's review saying that this is not really an adventure. Well, it probably because the last arc was pretty long with not rushed pace (unlike like most isekais nowadays), that's why I said the pacing is good. But after that arc, she continue her journey again, which indicates that ... this is certainly an adventure anime.

That's all about the story. Other aspect such as music, art, character design, etc, are all okay. Nothing so special, but not bad either

The first question for this anime, is the MC here still a reasonable person?
At the beginning of the story, the MC often suddenly answered questions even though there were no people or written questions, I questioned the health of this MC.
Maybe because his parents abandoned him, he often talks to himself?
And this is not just limited to the first episode, in the following episodes the MC also often talks to himself, when there is a sound like a bell suddenly the MC answers the question.

The voice of the MC is also very disappointing, please, this is an anime about little girls or often called ... Loli,but her voice doesn't sound like Loli, I think her voice is more like an adult and this is very disappointing.

The storyline also takes slow, there is a lot of silence in this anime,so that I as a viewer felt lonely and had no enthusiasm to watch it.

So basically for those of you who want healing and hope for something sweet from this anime, It's better not to get your hopes up, because this anime is more boring than you think.

If I were to rename this anime more accurately: The Weakest Tamer Finds a Purpose for Herself when She Acquires one of the Most Rare and Broken Abilities Ever.

This show is at it's best when the main character is out adventuring in the world. The animation is breathtaking at times, really bringing to life the beauty of the world Ivy inhabits. I enjoyed following Ivy on her journey in the first half. She has an adorable charm and the show itself has a remarkable calming quality.

Unfortunately the second half is exasperatingly bad. The author tries to put together a semblance of a plot ... that brings back memories of middle-school creative writing classes.

Character Growth:
There are two main inner conflicts that Ivy has from the beginning.
1. Can Ivy find people that she can trust? Are there people in this world that would care and protect her instead of take advantage of her?
2. Can Ivy find a purpose in this world? As someone blessed (or cursed?) with the weakest magical power, can she find a place for herself in this world where magical power is paramount?

The former point is handled fairly well in the show; watching Ivy develop relationships and learn who to trust was sweet and comforting. The latter point though is handled through one of the most bafflingly non-sensical plot points I've ever come across. The show solves this conflict by giving Ivy a ridiculous cheat card that although has no use in combat, allows her to become the invaluable key to quickly defeat the antagonists of the second half.

Cheat Skill:
I'm going to talk about the actual skill because I think it's important to know in order to judge whether this anime is for you or not. In the most broadest of terms, she basically gets an ability that allows her to tell if somebody is "bad" or not. Putting aside the enormous issues surrounding the skill itself (literally what standard is being used to judge if someone is "bad"? If you stole an apple 3 months ago are you marked bad?) it's just atrociously lazy writing. The introduction of this cheat code pretty much robs Ivy of meaningful character growth.

Instead of having Ivy struggle with being weak and overlooked in what could've been an incredibly meaningful journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance, the author just handwaves it all away and gives her an ultra rare and useful skill that nobody else has. She doesn't work for it, there's no downside or limit to using it, this overpowered skill just falls into her lap and all of a sudden she's useful, she's valuable, and she's constantly praised.

Weakest Tamer??
The title suggests that this story is different. In a genre filled with overpowered protagonists that can solve every problem, finally we might get a true underdog tale. I wanted to root for Ivy, watch her get challenged by different problems and figure out her own ways to solve them. Unfortunately, just like every other cliched fantasy anime, our mc gets a poorly thought-out cheat skill instead of character growth... :/

Positives:
Though this review seems negative, it's really only directed at episodes 8 and on. I really, truly enjoyed the first half of the show. There's no wacky anime hijinks, no annoying sidekicks, no unnecessary romance or fanservice. I felt a real sense of love and compassion poured into the animation. Ivy's journey of learning to trust the adults around her was heartwarming and touching. I rooted for her and even shed a few stray tears. It had a lot of potential.

Ivy is adorable. Her pets are cute. The side characters are enjoyable and the relationships are sweet. The atmosphere and animation are beautiful and healing. However, the plot in the second half will cause you to roll your eyes unless you just treat it like a children's picture book.

Little girl flees from her village, after being outcasted for not having special powers, starting then a journey in the wilderness, while accompanied by a tiny slime she found and tamed in the way. Now we follow their adventures, fighting monster and exploring the world while trying to not get discovered and caught by her pursuers.

Its a cute little show, with an simple premise, and an interesting mystery about her hidden powers, while also being kinda entertaining to watch how she deals with the whole surviving and fleeing thing. Tho its kinda annoying how it skips over her survival training, just excusing her well versed ... knowledge of survival skills on "oh, she trained in the past".

Also, its very annoying how she can't see to stop talking, at every scene, at every time, she's talking constantly. It feels like someone in production disliked the concept of silence and immersion, of showing things without someone talking over, or thought it would make the anime boring if there wasn't someone talking every time... In a slow paced show...

Tho, in the end it's still a nice cozy anime to waste some time with. The only flaw until now being the mentioned above, hindering it down to passable or skipable, depending on the person watching.

Honestly, when the anime was showing what they advertised in the synopsis, it was great. When it was about actual adventuring/traveling with a slime companion, I was hooked. But the second half stops the pacing dead in its tracks to solve a great mystery, and I dreaded clicking on the next episode every time. I came for cute slime interactions and adventure, but that's not what the main course was. If you were here because you like slime creatures, prepare to be disappointed.

Visuals: Great. I loved the way the anime looked, they animated Sora very well. The colors that were used matched the flavor of ... the show - lighthearted, cheerful, and laid back. No complaints here. Also, the sound was fine. Not going to make a separate paragraph for nothing.

Characters: Whatever. Ivy can do no wrong, which gets old fast when it's the same characters praising her. If she continued traveling to different towns and meeting different people, I would have certainly overlooked it. But it just becomes the same group constantly impressed by her previous-life's knowledge and it's just tiring.
I enjoyed watching Sora evolve physically and mentally more than anyone else in the anime. The little interactions Ivy has with him moved my heart, especially when I got to realize that Sora is becoming more mentally capable of communication. But in the second half, he's basically locked away in a bag with minimal screen time.

The last episode was very good, compared to the arc that it closes. And I don't mean that in a "haha it's good because the anime is over xd" kind of way. I genuinely enjoyed the final episode. I mention this because if you can push through the arc that it wraps up, you're perseverance won't be <i>completely</i> unrewarded. Even with this last note, I still cannot recommend this anime. Sorry!

I almost dropped it after the first episode and maybe I should have!!! I really despise these characters that feel sorry for themselves. Yes life is hard, yes life's not fair sometimes, but deal with it and move along!!! The "nobody loves me and I'm useless" line gets old real fast! Main character is NOT likeable at all, I did love SORA which basically disappears halfway in. The story overall is all over the place, like the creator had tons of ideas but didn't develop any in particular. It feels disjointed and poorly written. Also what is with the bags???...she has a magic one that can carry everything ... "item box" like.....so what is the purpose of the rest?!?!! I read some of the reviews describing good animation, but I felt the characters' movements other than the main one are stiff and amateurish. I'm not really sure what the purpose of this anime was by the time it ended. It wasn't really an  adventure and it wasn't really something with any purpose. Hope you find it more interesting than I did.
