Anime Relations: Ore dake Level Up na Ken
A very solid series that takes typical isekai-like tropes and reverses them - instead of characters being transported into a video game world, video game elements are brought into and impact characters in a modern-day setting. It was an interesting switch up for my expectations. It also takes itself quite seriously and manages to not come off completely ridiculous in its premise which I enjoyed.

Jinwoo is a standout protagonist for not being the typical weak or overpowered hero. He starts out at the literal bottom and his desire for strength stemming from wanting to provide for his family is commendable. He's an all-around pretty standup guy at the start. And when he does start gaining strength, he doesn't do so easily - he has to literally fight for his life to get it with a ton of close calls. It feels more satisfying to root for him than it does for overpowered protagonists in other series who don't have to work for it .w. Jinwoo's powers slowly corrupting him also adds another layer of intrigue making him into more of an antihero by the end. I'm definitely curious to see how his story continues~ Aside from Jinwoo, the other characters in this one aren't all that memorable though I suppose that's to be expected based on the title alone, lol.

The animation and battle scenes are another strong point of this series. The fights are fast and a feast for the eyes while also being rather brutal too. The enemies are a bit on the generic RPG monster side, but still pretty cool in motion.

Overall, I'd say this had great production value and was an enjoyable watch. It ends on a hype note that has me excited for season 2 as well~ 8/10 ^w^
