Manga 447

Oretama, also known as Ore Tama, or My Balls (the much preferred name for an English review), is an interesting supernatural romcom about a guy whose balls (specifically his right testicle) become a vessel for sealing a demon queen. If the demon queen is set free in the next month, the world will be destroyed.

And so begins the quest of many devils to cause the main guy, Kouta Satou, to blow a load so the demon queen is freed.

That's the story. I kid you not. My Balls contains slapstick humour based on the premise of a man trying his hardest to not cum for ... a month.

The main obstacles to his success are his crush: a coworker in the supermarket he works at, and a lesser devil trying to seduce him and free the queen. Along the way you have different residents of hell trying to get him to cum.

The premise gets old very quickly... or so you'd think. Every chapter ended with me thinking "almost time to drop" but the next chapter always had some crazy outlandish idea.

Honestly the conclusion was a bit weak. That's my main qualm with story.

The characters are pretty nice. Funny. The coworker crush and the lesser devil are both well made.
You've got a timid pure girl with a nympho drunk personality. A tsundere pettanko lesser devil loli with hints of yandere in her.

Reading My Balls was an orgasmic experience of joy and humour. It's the best and worst reading decision I've made. My Balls features such strange comedy and deus ex machina that it gets a bit annoying at points, but is an enjoying ride overall.

Overall an 8.

Oretama is a borderline hentai comedy anime that revolves around the life of a 19-year-old virgin Kouta, who unfortunately gets involved in a battle between angels and devils and comically get's a high ranking demon stuck in his balls. We experience Kouta's wacky life as he tries to maintain abstinence for the next 30 days while getting involved in the highest number of sexual situations in his life.

Story 6/10
The story of Oretama is extremely raunchy and funny. It's basically just the author doing his best to include varying sex scenes into the manga. While the writing is sloppy and unbearable in some places, I find ... the plain dialogue forgivable because it is easier to read fast and bad explanations of some plot points forgivable given the length of the story. I will say the story, while novel and enjoyable, is pretty basic in terms of writing strength but is one of the stronger points of the manga.

Characters 6/10
While Kouta might be a bit annoying at times, I found his character to be acceptable. The cast of main characters are pretty basic but funny in their way and new characters are always introduced to keep things lively. The characters certainly weren't stellar but had their quirks to them which I found quite humorous.

It definitely could have been better but there are no real complaints here.
It was a bit too raunchy at some points, but it had to convey the story somehow.

As filthy as this manga was, I found it somewhat enjoyable and comical at some points. While reading slowly and paying attention to "detail" towards the end was not my goal as I was just trying to get it over with, I found the ending satisfactory (given how much time I'd invested) and thought it was ok.

Overall, Oretama was a decently enjoyable read. It had a unique story and some enjoyable comedy. 6/10

… ya… you read the name right… this manga is literally called… ‘My Balls’… WHAT THE FUCK JAPAN? I mean really, I can understand the hard core stuff, I might be able to be ok with the tentacle thing… but really, that stuff is actually Hentai. This manga… its not listed as Hentai and in fact, it doesn’t really even show anything but blurry images or pixilated images of ‘things’. Well, since this is not under the term Hentai, it shall be reviewed as what it was named as… and boy, this is going to be a pain in the ass.

So let me get this ... straight, this perverted guy has had no luck with woman for his whole life and the month that he can’t have sex, every single girl wants to do him. Not only that, the girl he likes wants him, and even woman from hell want him. This turns into a large harem manga without even trying to be. The author ended up with the perfect storyline for a harem without even trying though it’s a manga I really wish I didn’t have to review. Then we have a devil that wears a cross around her neck and just keeps acting like a little girl getting into sex for the first time, a succubus that wants him to cum, and even the whole female hell armada seems to want him to do that. I’m serious, they have things from cupid to vampires trying to come at him that I’m surprised he isn’t put in prison for public indecency yet. For crying out loud, the guy ends up without his pants on for practically the whole manga including being outside and seems only once has been arrested and that was because of his boss taking him somewhere.

And you know what is the kicker about where I was reading this manga? I was reading it on Mangafox and the translators even put in the extra pages at the end where they have advertisements. Most are for sex items! I’m not joking… I HATE THIS! It’s one of the most disgusting manga’s I had to take a look at in a long time and that’s saying much because I have seen hentai.

As I said in the beginning, the artwork is nice though there are a lot of pixilated images of his mass. If you’re going to have a manga called ‘My Balls!’, at least make it a hentai and go all out! Then I would actually be able to review it by that standard and it wouldn’t be that bad. Sometimes the characters go off their profile making them look younger or older then they actually are and there are a lot of times I ended up grossed out by the artwork… more along the lines of just grossed out at the content though then the drawing style.

This manga is not for the weak at heart and younger readers. Hell, its not even for older readers. This manga is for the perverted, the sickos. I couldn’t even finish the damn manga because of how bad it was and this is coming from a girl that has reviewed some pretty bad stuff. I went through about half the series and pretty much dropped it because of how sick it was. I couldn’t handle it anymore.
