Similarly trippy styles of direction. Protagonists who mess with the supernatural in somewhat serious ways. Fanservice. Fanservice. Fan. Service.

Similar older brother themes. As an older brother myself, I can relate heavily to both of these. Both of these (and Bakemonogatari) are in my all time favorite shows.

Both have the same Atmosphere, comedy and randomess.both male leads,Koyomi and Kou are practically the same and have to deal with weirdos around them plus they got the same Seiyuu.Arakawa uses aliens as the source while Monogatari series is using ghosts, vampires etc and both are by SHAFT

There is some similar humor and some similar use of abrupt changes in animation style to show changes in characters' emotions. Both are not particularly plot-based, although Nisemonogatari has some plot, while Nichijou has no plot whatsoever. Both are pretty strange in general.

While having witty humor, both are artsy, dialogue driven and character focused.

Similar: The pacing of action. The use of color. The attitude of the main character. The main character: A bewildered male surrounded by a bunch of crazy chicks. Style. The psychotic little inserts, artfully translating the moodswings of the characters. I Love both.

Comedy, pacing, and the overall fun in a single episode, furthermore a character name shinobu and kamiya hiroshi voicing the protag. The resemblance is real. Great adaptation.
