Anime 136 Hunter X Hunter Userrecs

Aside from the stubborn-ness and will-to-succeed-no-matter-what personalities of both lead characters Naruto (Naruto) and Gon (HxH), the display of a wide range of fighting styles using a certain energy-manipulating concept (chakra for Naruto; nen for HxH), the dangerous examinations storyline (Genin/Chuunin exams; Hunter exams), and the search for an important person (Naruto's friend Sasuke; Gon's dad Jin), the quality of humor and adventure in both anime gives the viewer similar highly enjoyable experience :) 

The series have many things in common. The main character is a boy who has to pass a difficult, often life-threatening exam using jitsu/spiritual energy, and he does it with the help of his friends. There are lots of fights and many episodes are focused on training. 

A little boy who goes out on a journey while finding friends, fighting against an evil organisation and is an image after his father who is an legend. I highly recommend this show to any Naruto fan out there. It's funny and has a really good story. The animation is good when you think of how old it is and the music is fitting. Also at some parts it feels like Naruto has adapt some things from this show like the exam and an evil organisation. Do I even dare to say that HunterxHunter is much better than Naruto? Well, yeah I do. 

Imagine a world where kids have to take on the jobs of adults. Such a world is the world of Hunter x Hunter as well as the world of Naruto, yet neither series does anything to sugar coat what goes on. Death is completely a possibility for these young adventures no mater the job they take on, but they also never once think of giving up, the main character that is. 

A shounen with a, in my opinion, little more mature approuch than Naruto, sacrificing a little bit of fighting for a lot more psychology etc. Also, Naruto has several influenses from this anime as far as i can see. 

Both animes start out with the characters taking exams. From there you see what hapens to them during the exams and the harsher realities of the aftermaths.  

if you like Naruto than you should know that more than half the stuff in it was already taken from hunter x hunter. the most obvious is the fact that a clan of "red-eyed" people were slaughtered because of their red-eyes. thee's also the fact that there's a survivor that's bent on getting revenge and will do anything to succeed. remind you of someone?.... other than that "idea" both main characters grew up without their parents. both their dad's are great people. both "act" rather than "think" they both have a 4 main character squad (team 7 with kakashi, and than Gon's team) both have an exam at the beginning. both have an antagonist group that's bent on destroying the world or something related (akatsuki = the spiders) and the "red-eyes" want to find this group. both have some sort of chakra/ki/energy related stuff that they learn both have shounen battles and tournaments. both have something ridiculous with them (Naruto wearing a bright orange jumpsuit while he's a ninja, and Gon fighting with a fishing rod) yet somehow their able to work with it.  

the main male characters are the xcept that in naruto the guy's more idoitic and hyper but both guys are hardworking and never give up. they both also talk bout clans and enemy clan. oh and in both one guy has red eyes. i recomend this if you liked h x h 

In the same way that HxH was deeply inspired by Dragonball, Naruto is deeply inspired by HxH. For one, both series make their money from their attachable characters and bright outdoor style. Second, many plot element from Naruto are almost simply ripped off HxH (chuunin exam and hunter exam, chakra abilities taken from a nen ability - the puppeteer for instance). However, just as HxH was more serious than DB, dropping a lot of the humour for more daunting psychological trauma, Naruto pushes that further to the point of sounding emo at time. Yet, overall, it remains light.  

Both Hunter x Hunter and Naruto experience the same events and similar writing, Its very clear theat Naruto is similar to Hunter X hunter with shonen style fighting,charactors , abilities ,and saga's 

Both are based on manga that were created around the same period and published by Shounen Jump. Both have a main protagonist who has no parents and never surrenders. They follow the main protagonist as he makes several friends, from which, one who comes from a notorious family and one who seeks vengeance for the murder of his clan. The first part of the anime follow these protagonist as they take a certain exam (Chuunin exams / Hunter exams). They also have similar villains: a shady criminal organization (Phantom Troupe / Akatsuki), and a pale man who takes an interest in the main characters and switches factions often (Hisoka / Orochimaru).  

Masashi Kishimoto openly admits he was heavily influenced by Hunter x Hunter in creating Naruto Both anime have characters with abilities (Nen/Chakra) . Both main characters want to become very strong and have a goal they are trying to reach Both anime have humor, lots of action, concentrated on friendship and scenes that touch people emotionally 

Similar in the aspect of the protagonist being a character who is weak and is gifted with power which allows him to be better and struggles to master his power and overcome the odds. Main Character being being a person who is both acting like a fool and has good plans in a while. 

Well,same manga creatror,same action and interesting animes and both are animation are a like,they both very great and similar to each other.the characters are very similar too ;] 

The story lines are dark and there is the feeling the main characters may not survive. There are trials and tribulations that they have to go through to. Both are also older series.

here is how you compare yu yu hakusho with hunter x hunter.. in terms of appearances.. leorio-kwabara-both are the tallest main characters; gon-yusuke-both are the main protagonists, kurapika-kurama-both use long weapons(chains and rose whip) and killua-hiei(both are fast, and their eyes are seemingly resembling, although killua smiles unlike hiei) 

Both animes follow a group of guys through battle tournaments of sorts and have plenty of fighting scenes to satisfy the inner violent you = ) They both also have different arc sequences where goals of the groups change ad eventually the groups split and go separate ways but then meet up again. For girls: bishounen in both series For guys: blood and awesomness 

They are both stories that are drawn by the same artist. Also, it seems similar in another way because when the main character is facing a challenge they somehow manage to pull through and win or survive. 

The manga these shows are based off of are written by the same person and you can tell. Both have very similar stories and storylines with mystical powers and tournaments. Both of these are my favorite animes. The only downside is that Hunter x Hunter just kind of end with many questions left to wonder about. Bottom line if you like shounen watch this anime.

Both YYH and HXH were created by the same man, Yoshihiro Togashi. In common the two anime follows a group of four male protagonists on an action-filled adventure. The main protagonists are stubborn, hard-headed, and look good in green. While YYH and HXH have intense plots, they are able to incorporate humor. Lastly, both the ops and eds are amazing! 

Written by the same mangaka who did Hunter x Hunter, Yuu Yuu hakusho follows a group of four young friends as they face adventures and trials within the spirit realm, with a dynamic not dissimilar to the fan favorite group of Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio. These two shounen animes are the best of their genre, and im sure anyone who's liked one, will definetly like the other. 

Long running series like One Piece. The main characters have typical characteristics, fun and yet intuitive. You will definitely enjoy this anime 

Both are popular manga that run in the same magazine. They have similar styles and a wide cast of characters. They also have plenty of action and a darker side to the adventure. 

The way that main charcter are not botherin you (like Naruto forex) and the respect that you feal towards Gon, Killua, Hisoka and others in this great anime is somewhat similar to One Piece series 

Both main characters are tremendously similar. Both stubborn, with hidden strong sides, happy-go-lucky attitudes and they are really single minded. While Luffy goes for the title of Pirate king Gon chases the title of Hunter, with friends that will follow them through the deepest and most dangerous adventures.  

Super engaging/amusing/touching Epic Quest fantasy with a ton of awesome characters. 

One of the easiest recommendations ever. Hunter x Hunter and One Piece deliver top notch emotion and character development, that it's just hard to even avoid them. Any shounen fan should have seen these two animes, because they're bound to love them.  

Both are about adventures and fights and magical things, HxH is more mature and also way more violent though, it also avoids all the cliche moments seen in most shonen making it more original. I recommend watching the 2011 version for now 

Long battle shounen with actually interesting characters with creative design of cast and powers and with mix of drama and comedy.

Adventure oriented quaint and interesting Arc Funny cool characters 

Ueki its like the fusion of killua and gon ^^, a cool guy that wants to help everybody, and the type of anime its very similar, good fights and a stronger enemy on the next one this anime has cool fights, and everyone have a different power (like nem) so every fight its different. The story its very funny and if u liked hunter x hunter i know u will like the law of ueki and of course if u like the law of ueki u cant miss Hunter x Hunter because its one of the greatest anime that i had ever see 

Competition, powers, youth, justice... what more can you ask?  

Well-paced, purposeful action. 

Both protagonists are nearly the same age, and both have supernatural doings, making it a anime to enjoy. 

Both are famous Shounen Animes. The Both have action. drama and funny moments. Rekka sometimes reminds me of Gon.  

Both contain great sword fights, have mysterious antagonists, and very likable characters. 

Both having same sort of "martial arts" power and training development except Flame of Recca is more supernatural and historical ortientated. Both have those all familiar tournament fights, but in Hunter x Hunter they are more refined. Classic! 

It remains incredible. The change is that there are things that don't exist in 2011, things that didn't happen. Things take longer in 1999 but it's still cool 

Hunter x Hunter 1999 é subestimado por ser antigo, eu dei uma chance e me apaixonei, vc deveria dar uma chance também. 

Both are shonen anime about a young boy as a main character who, along side his close group of friends which he meets in the beginning of the anime, fight a series of bad guys to level up each time. Both series resolve around the power of friendship and have humor mixed. Both anime are incredibly fun to watch for shonen anime fans 

It's mostly action and about young childs that are SUPER POWERFUL ~YA~ hehehehe in simple words its action. 

Very similar art style, and the worlds of Shaman King and Hunter x Hunter have a similar feel to them. Hunter x Hunter is however the better quality anime, and also the more mature one.  

Shaman King is where Asakura Yoh and other shamans strive to become the King of Shamans-- the best there is. Hunter X Hunter is similar in that everyone wants to become the most well-known hunter. Highly skilled, powerful, intelligent, etc. Gon works for that status and also searches for his father, who is a legendary hunter. 

They're both mindblowing good. They have some similarities in psychological thinking and plottwists. They have similar characters who are extremely smart or skilled at stuff. I highly recommend both of them. They both have (almost) no boring ep whatsoever. 

in terms of the plot they arent really similar but they both entail the theme of strategy and planning 

Hunter X Hunter's main inspiration was the original dragonball series. Many features can be contrast to the dragonball series, from Gon which has been called "an obvious Son Goku derivative" to the Ki-Nen parallel, the youth boy bonding and the tournament fighting. However, it resembles Dragonball most in its light, happy and adventurous mood. In contrast, Dragonball is more comedy-adventure as it parodies a classic story whereas Hunter x Hunter is slightly more serious without abandoning that good-feeling vibe. ALso, HxH is much shorter and ends with you wanting more whereas dragonball's ending goes full circle and offer more closure. 

Both are based on manga published by Shounen Jump. They both tell the adventures of a young kid, who has no parents and comes from a remote village, as he explores the world and constantly makes new friends (and sometimes enemies). The main protagonist is also quite energetic, as well as very strong and skilled for his age. Also, both anime show the main character train in order to become stronger and also participate in battle tournaments. 

In some aspects, Hunter x Hunter and FMAB are quite similar wherein they both have a fair amount of dark fantasy elements all whilst being enjoyable shonen anime to watch. However its not just dark fantasy elements that make these anime great, its the consistent storytelling as well as the phenomenal worldbuilding. However my personal favourite thing about both anime is the power system as theres no other anime which have as unique of a power system as Hunter x Hunter or FMAB. If theres anyone out there whos seen Hunter x Hunter and loved it, then theres no doubt that u wont love FMAB. Its a phenomenal anime and one that u definitely wont regret checking out!  

Same idea of hunters 

It's just like dbz. Adventure + sweet action. Hunter just expands on it with a concrete plot, action scenes that are not overly drawn out. keyword overly. The characters are likeable. there are also a slew of them, just like dragon ball z. For the most part it has the light hearted action packed with some character definition. i found the beginning to also be slightly slow just like with dbz. But it quickly makes up for it.  

Also nice action scenes, slow but good evolving story and very good character design 

Both have very interesting worlds and a cast of characters with unique abilities. 

same type of storyline both running after a family members shadow both have better abilities then the people around them, male main characters the only down side to Beet is it was cut without an ending or at least a good one 

Both have excellent sword fighting scenes and great battles. They are both good fighting anime in my opinion. The main characters are also also alike, and the kids are funny.
