Anime 16498 Shingeki No Kyojin Userrecs

Like seriously...if you're going to tell me Kabaneri is not an AoT ripoff...go home. Both protagonists have major temper issues and one-track "kill 'em all" mentalities because of some tragic loss of a family member. Both protagonists are half-human, half-whatever monster they're trying to fight against, and ostracized by rest of society for it. Both have a cool, badass girl who rarely makes any sense as a character and is really just there to promote feminism. That said, the Attack on Titan universe is more well-constructed than Kabaneri and makes a lot more sense. AoT is also more plot-driven while Kabaneri appears to be trying to be more character-driven. 

If you like Shingeki no Kyojin and want to watch a show that's most similar to it, look no further. Koutetsujou no Kabaneri is the most suitable recommendation you will need. Rather than a story with titans, you'll find a story with Kabane which are undead creatures that cannot be defeated unless it's glowing heart is pierced, or an important body part that is completely severed. 

Rather than fighting giant human looking creatures in Shingeki, Kanbaneri is more along the lines of fighting the undead that tries to humanity. The giants just, somehow, appears whereas Kanabes are people who comes back after being bitten. The protagonists infest the power of these supernatural beings and use it to fight for humanity even though in the beginning they're very naive and useless. The amount of gore is just enough in both anime.  

kabaneri is so clearly clearly derived from early attack on titan in its heyday. angry protagonist becomes the thing he seeks to destroy? pseudo historical steampunk setting plus zombies? studio wit? hiroyuki sawano ost? c'mon, dude, it's clear as mud; watch it. 

Both are in a post apocalyptic setting which can give you that sense of isolation that's present in both. (if you like that feeling, you should like the other) Both main characters are unusual with respect to the average person in their homeland, and they are somehow related to and enhanced by this post apocalyptic setting. If you like somewhat different main characters with grandiose goals, then you should like the other anime. Both main characters strongly want to eliminate all or fight against the main post apocalyptic enemy. Since this is a main point in both anime, it's definitely something that you may like about both of them.

HUMANITY VS. OTHERS: [Titans/Kabane] Humanity is in the verge of extinction and has to stand up together to fight against the 'others'. The main leads are charismatic humans with a passion to defeat the others (with both being half of the 'other' creature). Has steampunk vibes and badass fight scenes/action. 

The situation that they are in. Humanity is on the line because of these 'monstres', it AOT, they have 'Titan', while in KNK, they have 'Kabane'. Very similiar vibe. Very similiar characters. Lots of deaths. Lots of fight scene too. Even they are produced by the same production house. So, I guess if you like one, you will like the other. 

Made by the same Studio and Staff. Both feature a Mankind that faces an overwhelming monstruous enemy that is quickly anihilating what remains of them. Both of them feature fortifications, walls and steam-based weapons. Also, both feature a Main Character whose resolve is to defeat Mankind's enemy (Titans/Kabane) Naturally, both feel very similar, altought Attack on Titan is set in Europe while Iron Fortress is set on Japan. Also, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress is very steampunk 

Dark theme, apocalypse-like set, monsteruous creatures which want to drive humanity into extinction and a protagonist with special power who wants to change this fact. I think that the general idea behind Koutetsujou no Kabaneri was really very similar to Shingeki no Kyojin, the latter surely had way more potential than the first, but I believe who had watched Snk would like KnK too, especially when we consider the art-style and the OST.  

Both are very serious and about saving mankind, not much humour but a lot of cheesy characters with a lot of determination. 

Blood, gore, exciting action, monsters, a determined protagonist, badass characters. And even the same studio - similar animation and epic soundtrack. These series really have the same feel and atmosphere; you will likely enjoy one if you enjoyed the other.

So similar it would be plagiarism if it weren't for the director of Attack on Titan working on Kabaneri. ....it still might be plagiarism. 

Kabaneri seems like inspired by SnK and they're made by the same studio. Though both may have some similarities, Koutetsujo no Kabaneri has its own way to portray the characters and develop the story, plus it doesn't have a whiney MC at first. If you like SnK, you should give this one a shot. 

MC uses the powers of the enemies - "Weak" male MC and strong female MC - Humans are living contained in strongholds

Once you see a trailer or read the description on this anime you might think: hmm... hold on a sec... where have I heard that before....? Well lets say it's not like they're even trying to pretend it's not almost exactly like Shingeki no Kyojin. Even the Soundtrack is basically the same! However I still can't decide which I like more. However if you enjoyed Attack on Titan, you will most likely enjoy this anime as well. Even though they're so similar, you don't feel like you're watching the same thing. I wont go into more detail how they are alike. But how is Koutetsujou no Kabaneri distinct from Shingeki no Kyojin? Mainly the setting. First Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress seems to be a bit more futuristic, since Attack on Titan appears almost medieval. While in both anime there is a town, in which our main character and his friends live, it is only one huge town surrounded by many walls in Attack on Titan. However there are more of those in Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, which are connected by rails. This means of transportation also poses a threat to the towns, but this way an extremely thrilling journey unfolds! The characters are a bit different, too. But in a way that fits the story very well! Well go and see for yourself which one of those two anime you like better!  

It's the same concept of an enemy that threatens humanity, this time it's zombies. The main character of both have special abilities that make them a better fighter and their determination to wipe out the enemy is what drives them. Both are good, but Kabaneri won't hold the same satisfaction if you have already seen SNK. 

A post-apocalyptic Earth, where the protagonist through revenge, will become someone "special" able to defeat those monsters that took away their loved ones. 

Badass female char. who is like mikasa. Badass male char. who is like Erin but is more aware of his powers and gives the powers to himself rather than them being thrust upon him. The first episode is only one out right now and it was honestly a really good episode. Looking very forward to the rest of the anime 

When we see Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, we always likely to compare it to one of the most successful anime of all time, Attack on Titan. Not because they were animated by the same studio but because of the action-pack ambiance which is employed on each anime series. Both anime shows the bloody war between humanity and the creatures which dominates their world.  

Both have: mindless creatures that everyone is afraid of and might endanger humanity; a vengeful main protagonist; amazing action scenes and animation 

Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress and Attack on Titan are probably the most similar TV series ever. Here's only a partial list of their many similarities: - In both, humans barricade themselves from monsters who kill humans. - Both have a main character with a power connected to the monsters the humans are fighting . - Both main characters state that their main goal is to fight the monsters. - In both, the main character's family is affected by the monsters. 

Both story tell about human that fight and dying to survive againts 'creature'. SnK with Eren and Mikasa Koutetsujo with Ikoma and Mumei have same director so no doubt about the similarities 

The same studio and staff and an incredibly similar plot with great potential. - MCs feel developed, realistic, and hardened by their hardships - Both OSTs are composed by the same person and are equally glorious - Similar plot; easy to get a grasp of; sets off at a blistering speed from the very first minute - A bit of violence and thrill, but contained -SnK has a pre-industrial European feel, whereas KnK is set in steanmpunk industrial feudal Japan As Season 2 of SnK has been postponed to 2017, Kabaneri is anime the best company of any Titan fan. 

Walled cities, almost invincible human-eating monsters and determined main characters. Same animation style. 

They are both similar in that they both: - Have MCs that has a hatred of the titans/kabane - The titans/kabane are very similar in that they both eat humans - The setting in both are very similar in that they both are surrounded by walls - Made by the same studio and staff - Both has a similar plot - The MCs both have a power that's connected with the creature they are fighting Just to sum it up, if your a fan of SnK you should watch it.  

Same kind of story. Same kind of characters. Same kind of music theme. SnK still better, but it doesn't mean KnK is not worth watching. Go for both. 

Just watch the first episode and get that AoT vibe. Not necessarily a bad thing given that you get hooked immediately onto the story by the end of the first episode. Go on, give it a try! :D

I would highly recommend you watch Koutetsujou no Kabaneri if you enjoyed Shingeki no Kyojin. 

KnK and AoT are similar in a lot of aspects. To be more precise, KnK is a less refined version of AoT. In other words, a rip-off. + Titans and Kabaneris are similar things in the sense that both species are driving humanity behind the walls, figuratively and literally as well + The protagonists have very similar motives. Their aims are to exterminate Titans/Kabaneris because their families were killed by these creatures + Mumei and Mikasa are similar in terms that they're both badass female protagonists alongside our main guy + Not gonna mention AoT spoilers, but there's a superpower involved in both of them - KnK deviates after some episodes to become generic, therefore different from AoT - The atmospheres and settings of the anime are a little different from each other  

They are pretty much the same show. -Main character is similar -Same studio -Same musician -Both have an invasion in episode 1 -Titans are just bigger Kabane I mean, I'd have a harder time pointing out differences than similarities. 

- In both we have a post-apocylaptic world where groups of people live inside a walled city to survive a threat to humanity. - Both have people living in protected zones in fear of invading and dangerous and mysterious creatures that aren't well understood. - Both animes is about fighting these animes and driving them out! - Both anime's has Walled fortresses to keep out the monsters, and one person who comes to posess a mean to defeat the monsters more effectively. - Both protagonists lost their most precious person to the monster. - Bushi in Kabaneri equals Military in SNK. Notably, Kabaneri has the same director and animation studio as Attack on Titan, but looks worlds nicer than AoT ever did. Hopefully it doesn't suffer from the same pacing issues.   

These are both simular in these aspects: - First off, Koutetsujou no Kabaneri was made by the same creator of Shingeki no Kyojin, so you know it's gonna be good. - The have same vibe, in which humans are faced with a great enemy... (both post-apocalyptic animes) - The main character/protagonist in Shingeki no Kyojin seems to have the same characteristic as Koutetsujou no Kabaneri's protagonist in sense of justice! - The sound tracks are really good, good enough to match against Shingeki no Kyojin's sound tracks. - Art style is breathtaking, nothing short of Shingeki no Kyojin's standards!

In both anime humanity has been driven to extinction by an armageddon that happened in the past, in Shingeki no Kyojin by titans while in Koutetsujou no Kabaneri by the kabane. It is made by the same studio (Wit). Both anime start inside a fortified settlement showing the seemingly peaceful lives the people live, only to have it crumble in the face of the cruel reality. 

They both have some kind of monster that has attacked the human race, forcing everyone to hide behind walls. The main character in both is determined to fight against the monster. Trustme, you will get AOT vibes when you watch Koutetsujou no Kabaneri. 

The same apocalyptic scenario, the same hybrid main characters fighting against non-humans (titans and Kabanes). Steampunk aesthetics, at some point, is shared as well. The epic and trascendental fight is leading by a group of people trying not only to survive, but to understand the world in which they live. Also remarkable, the great similarity between weapons: Three Dimensional Maneuver Gear (Shingeki no Kyojin) and Tsuranuki Zutsu (Koutetsujou no Kabaneri)  

-Both anime tell about mankind that endangered by other species (titan and kabane). -Both main character possess the enemy power (Eren from AoT can transform into titan & Ikoma is half-human and half-kabane, or called kabaneri). -Both anime actually have same sequence of plot: survivor live in shelter - titan & kabane attack shelter - survivor run and find new shelter - titan & kabane attack the new shelter - and so on... 

Similar plots as in apocalypse type situation/humanity targeted. Both mc in both series can turn into the type of monster they're fighting. Heavy action in both series. Highly recommend.

The main protagonist have experienced a traumatizing encounter with the monsters when they were younger and is now determined to fight for humanity's survival. Both series are made from the same studio. If you like one of them, chances are you'll find something to enjoy from the other. 

they are both made by the same studios and they have the same kind of feel, although i like the mc in kabaneri more. 

These shows are similar because: They were made my the same studio, Each of them have humanity slowly dying off because of Titans/Kabane, They hide themselves in walls/Stations There is only one way to kill them, MC is out for revenge. 

These two are obviously very similar in content and overall impression, as both series had the same people involved. Both are action-oriented shows, feature a setting where mankind is defending itself against powerful creatures. However, Koutetsujou no Kabaneri also has a zombie-apocalypse-esque theme, as people bitten by Kabane turn into Kabane themselves and start attacking other people. While SnK has a pre-industrialized european look to it, KnK has more of a steampunk setting. Both shows make use of violence to get their point across. Both shows feature high quality music and artwork, so you are unlikely to be disappointed by the production quality. 

Action, Drama, Fantasy, Horror are all in this anime. The main character got the same goal revenge!. they both have the sense of justice.  

From the aspect of the story, anime singer has a lot of similarities, In Between can Judging from the attack of the kabane And titan Equally attack humans, humans are many who go to save themselves, and in this anime too many people are killed by Kabane and Titan , to then be able to watch yourself. 

Very similar plot, Koutetsujou no Kabaneri have multiple cities (stations) surrounded by walls to protect them from monsters (kabane) that are difficult to kill just like the titans. I wouldn't use the words 'a realistic version' of attack on titan but i would say its not quite as far fetched as fighting giants. I personally enjoy the feel of the characters, they are quite different to the characters in attack on titan so it shows another side to humanities survival. Obviously there is overlap in personalities for example : desperation, fear, cowardice etc. I just mean there are general differences. 

Both people from the anime series live behind walls, the protagonists share the same qualities and both anime series worth watching. 

both equally have a purpose to survive against non-human enemies, and equally cornered, but the two main characters alike want to fight even when others run out of fear ... and equally have special surprising powers .... both actions was quite stressful ... 

Basically the same story and setting, minus few details here and there. Shingeki no Kyojin has Titans almost leading humans to extinction while in Koutetsujou no Kabaneri has Zombies almost leading humans to extinction. Just don't expect for a season 2 on Koutetsujou no Kabaneri soon. 

Both have intense scenes with blood and gore theme constantly sticking out episode after episode. They both include a group trying to survive against the odds constantly. They both have similar atmospheres. If you like one you will most definitely like the other!

These two are almost similar, telling them that they have to survive the attack and try to survive from inside the wall. The atmosphere is both full of tension. Highly recommended. 

Kabaneri (Zombie like) instead of titans 

Both are about survival, using unique weapons against human enemies, the main character wants to be stronger, sometimes I feel like the air was similar. oh also they're in the same anime production (WIT Studio) 

Both protagonists are warriors who destroys monsters and tries to look to a better and brighter future, and that is one of the reasons that Koutetsujou no Kabaneri & Shingeki no Kyoujin are so alike. If I were to give a two words in comparison it would be Dark and Hell. Dark for the revival to cause more chaos and terror to the citizens, and Hell for the number of monsters and difficulty the warriors have to bare to take them down. They both share the same difficult life and their hometowns being in total chaos and terror. The peaceful moments they share are the best ones before returning to their mission and war.  

For these two anime, they are more similar in more ways than one for example; same gutsy main protagonist, main protagonist a half human half kabaneri, badass female lead the same mankind driven to the brink of extinction because of deadly creatures. Bottom line... If you like one of them, then there is no reason not to like the other.  

Last of humankind trapped within stations and armored trains trying to survive against hard to kill zombies. 

The whole wall thing is pretty similar and outside of those walls are creepy monsters who want to kill you, the moment they recognize you. Both anime also have a very simple plot, for my opinion

They are really really similar anime, the art style, story and characters both have some connections that make them similar. The biggest similarity are the fight scenes.

First, let's get out the way that both animes are made by Studio Wit. Both shows have Hiroyuki Sawano behind the music, so if you liked the music from either one of them you'll definitely like the other. Both animes are post-apocalyptic, the titans and kabane look quite similar in terms of shading. The action in both shows is insane. The main characters of both shows have some sort of ability putting them at an advantage against their enemy.  

It's almost same based on titan type .. story. Because here you'll see zombie which are equivalent to those type of titans. And here you'll also find special gears to eliminate them. Also has a pretty good story. I can assure you that you would love this. 

Created by the same team who made Attack on Titan, it's no surprise this made the list. The premise reflects that of Eren and his team, as Ikoma and his team would fight against a horde of undead creatures who plan on terrorizing humanity. A lot of gruesome action takes place all throughout both anime, with bodies flying across the screen, leaving a sea of blood everywhere the main protagonists go. Both anime have centered themselves around building a fortress, with hopes to protecting what's left of humanity before it's too late. One thing to also consider is how strikingly similar each of the main characters are to each other, with both males receiving some sort of devilish power, while the female leads possess lethal skills and a passion to protect those they love.  

This is one of the biggest similarities I have seen. - Both start from a "post-apocalyptic" universe in which humanity is enclosed within walls and fortresses due to fear itself. - Both present a traditional political system within the fortified enclaves. - Both protagonists seek revenge against the monsters and question the constant fear that leads humanity to retreat. - Both main heroines are extremely strong and have good action scenes. - Both worlds are plagued by creatures "stronger" than most humans. In Shingeki no Kyojin, it's the Titans. In Kabaneri, it is the Kabanes. - Both protagonists become a fine line between monsters, gaining relative powers alongside them, and humanity. - Both deal with the theme of survival, have heavy atmospheres and people dealing with deaths, escapes amid chaos and lack of resources. - The two shows are from the same studio and feature the same director, in addition to the OST composed by Hiroyuki Sawano.

They are both fighting against a enemies that are stronger and powerful than them and have to struggle against the odds to survive. Both anime similar story line. 

Almost like if attack on titan was steam punk. 

The quality and story are similar while Kabeneri has an older style that is reminiscence of the 90's, great niche show. 

End of the world, post-apocalyptic show. In Koutetsujou no Kabaneri they're fighting zombie-like monsters instead of titans. Also in the world of Koutetsujou no Kabaneri, they live on trains and in train stations, similar to how everyone in Shingeki no Kyojin is trapped inside the walls as a last mean of safety. 

The 2 shows are really similar. In both worlds the countrysides are flooded by monsters, People are forced to live in walled off cities. In both shows the monsters destroy the hometown/area of the protagonist. And both protagonists are mixed with the creatures. 

kabaneri of the iron fortress deals with the concept of humans living in walls and trying to survive and also fighting this monsters with these special weapons .But the only thing different is that kabaneri of the iron fortress they move in these train called fortresses and there is some sad , romance scenes. I suggest you check it out it is a good anime  

They are the same. Isayama took part in both of the (as far as i know) and if you like invasions made by un-stoppable human-ish creatures, go watch it. Blood, emotion, loss of loved ones and walls. 

It's a story that has the same titan. Many things, including scenes that draw various emotions or godly songs And the fight scene is awesome, the best animation work because of the same director, haha

After watching this epic show shingeki no kyojin (Attack on titan) I was searching for something similar and going by the recommendations and checking them out. Koutetsujou no kababeri is the closest and have got lots of similarities. Its the best possible anime similar to Attack on titan and even both the shows are directed by the same director.  

Koutetsujou no kabaneri: the quality and story is beautiful. A very beautiful anime that can be watched after attack on titan. Attack on titan: this anime really GOOD,ı advise 

Both of these stories are set in a dystopian world where Humans and Monsters exist. Both of them have a protagonist which is a hybrid of kabane and human (kabaneri). in both of them the protagonists are the underdogs both of them are both depressing and exciting at the same time. watch them. Personally I find attack on titan to be the better overall anime but I would still recommend watching both of them.  

a failed version of aot but still a good anime 

Many people consider "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress" an "Attack on Titan" clone and this fact speaks for itself. Whether you agree or disagree with this, i think "Kabaneri" is still a very good anime. 

Wit Studio did an amazing job doing both of aot and kotif I highly recommend watching kotif it’s a fast-paced who doesn’t love fast-paced anime It also has great fighting scenes I’ve always wondered why a lot of people are slept on such an anime when I recommend it to anyone I always say you don’t have to watch all the episodes just watch the first one because I know after the first episode none will ever drop it I’m convinced. 

The main characters in need to kill ugly creatures to survive, and they are both half human. I personally think that AoT is a better version Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress. 

Both shows are from the same studio: Studio Wit. They also both take place in post-apocalyptic worlds where the main character has a special power that they use to fight monsters. In AOT, its titans, in kabaneri, its zombies. Both are really sick too. 

- Titan or kabane- in both series the world falls into a complete pandemonium state. - Main characters in either series, received the abilities of the devil while showing signs of righteousness and naivety. - A female character with lethal skills and deadly passion who fights to protect the people she loves. - extraordinary theme songs/OSTs - Shingeki no Kyojin demonstrates a species’ right to survive in a world engulfed in despair and death while having to clash with its own kind. Koutetsujou no Kabaneri centers on the saying that ‘retreating is better than dying’. Day after day, fortified cities are conquered and overwhelmed which lead to a retreat into the next safe haven.   

Apart from the fact that the producers are the same, Kabaneri is an anime that presents many similarities with Attack on Titan because giants and kabane can be considered similar and protagonists, although with due differences of characterization, reminded me of those of AOT. 

Both are in like apocalyptic state with Monsters attacking them and have really likable characters. Trust me check it out!

The theme is almost similar. Both will give you a good action packed and drama feel.  

- A world with creatures/monsters who want to eat human. - The main protagonist who are mixed (Human / Monster) despite him + people who doesn't want him for that. - Human uses modern technologies against creatures (vertical maneuvering equipment/ Steam gun / canon) - Same style of horror - Both animated by WIT Studio 

Koutetsujou no Kabaneri, also known as Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, is a post-apocalyptic series very similar to the very popular anime Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan). Instead of Titans, this anime has zombie-like creatures called Kabane!

I just thought they are quite similar, in kabaneri their enemies are like the smoller version of titans. AOT has a much more complicated plot than kabaneri though. The animations especially in fighting scenes on both are really great for me as well. Although kabaneri is underrated, it's worth a watch too.

Kabaneri is inspired by AOT. The plot is quite similar to aot and the animation is top notch which is animated by the same studio as AOT, WIT STUDIO! The story isn't rushed and the characters aren't annoying. the fighting style seemed realistic and the way they fight enemy is quite enjoyable to watch. 

If you like aot you would definitely like this made by same studio(wit)

Kabaneri is just a copy of aot so they are a lot alike. Only difference is the mcs of Kabaneri are whiny and annoying while Aot has good protagonists. Kabaneri also has bad story telling. Basically just a bad version of aot. 

More or less the same thing with zombies instead of titans Note - Female version of Levi spotted lol Less interesting story compared to AOT (obviously cuz isayama is the G.O.A.T) 

Same studio (WIT) same concept but kabaneri keeps the vibes of the 2 first snk season.

First when I saw the walls in this anime I literally thought about Shingeki No Kyojin, and the both MCs want to wipe out the creatures the Titans in AOT and the Kabane, Both animes have the same vibe.in This anime and both MCs don't want to run away and wants to keep fighting. 

Generally speaking, Seraph of the End and Attack on Titan share a nice amount of similarities. Let's start off by our hot-blooded teenager main male character who has a clear objective: Kill all the titans (Shingeki no Kyojin) Kill all the vampires (Owari no Seraph). These creatures have taken away from our protagonist, dear family and friends in very painful ways. Later on they join the 'force' which will help them in order to get revenge against vampires/titans. Impulsive, stubborn and reckless main characters with a bunch of friends behind trying to stop them from doing stupid things, as expected, hardly ever works. Despite SnK being a little bit more bloody and heartbreaking than Seraph, if you have seen one of these series, you will see the reflection of the other even in the dialogues. Action, plot twists, apocalyptic setting and humanity survival, strong friendship bonds and bloody battles are part of these two intense pieces of work.  

Okay, the main reason I'm recommending this is because the first ep of OnS reminded me so much of AoT. In both series, the main characters' worlds are turned upside-down by incredible creatures. OnS deals with an apocalyptic vampire attack, while AoT deals with an already apocalyptic world's fragile peace being destroyed. I both series the main characters have lost their families to these creatures, and have a strong desire for revenge. After the first couple of episodes, there is a time skip, and the mains have undergone tough training to be able to fight their opponents.  

They're basically the same thing with different enemies. Post apocalyptic setting with humanity inside a wall to keep the bad guys out. The main characters are the squad of badasses that venture outside the walls and kill the bad guys. The main characters are basically the same dumb-as-rocks, brown-haired, green-eyed, slightly-shorter-than-average, sixteen-year-old boy, hellbent on revenge against the bad guys, though Eren is slightly dumber. There's also the mentor character who is way more badass than the main crew (Levi/Guren), the tall, short-haired rival of the main character (Jean/Shihou), the sweet, adorable, best friend of the main character (Armin/Mikaela and later Yoichi), the girl that follows the main character around and happens to be a total badass (Mikasa/Shinoa).   

They both share the same characters; you can literally match the characters from both sides. The plot is also the same; humanity is on a brink of extinction because of a source they know very little about and now humanity is fighting back. If you liked Owari no Seraph you will love Shingeki no Kyojin! 

Both feature main characters who are dead set on annihilating the monsters that roam their respective worlds. The anime also share the same animation studio and a pretty unique art style for both. Also, both main characters have something special about them that sets them apart from everyone else.  

-Male lead character -Story revolves around revenge for the monsters that killed his family -Same studio -Humanity is on the brink of extinction because of said monsters -Strongly puts across that no-one is safe -Groups that fight against the monsters Though I'm not reminded of Shingeki no Kyojin while watching Owari no Seraph, I can see the similarities, and I do think that if you liked one, you will like the other.  

Music is really, really similar. The animation and drawing are super similar too. (Really thick lines) The main character wants to kill all Titans/vampires and wants revenge for his dead mom/family The protagonist has green eyes and is an angry teenager. The protagonist has 2 friends which are a badass girl and a weak-looking boy. Humanity was almost completely annihilated but there are a few people left. The bad ones eat people. The main character uses sword/s The main character has to leave his mom/family behind to survive and sees the moment they die.  

Shingeki no Kyojin is actually better than Owari no Seraph but they are still pretty similiar in everything except the animation. In both animes, humanity is nearly extintion. In both anime, the main protagonist looks for revange. The soundtrack used so far was similiar to Shingeki no Kyojin. With only 2 episodes i can´t tell much about it but so far it seems that is going to be similar.  

A stabarn hero and his family killed infornt of him and he decided to kill all the race that kill his family but war absulotly alike. And In both anime its a stragule to live a singe day so the enviorment is also same

-They were both animated by WIT Studios -The MCs are both teens who, after seing their family getting killed, join the army to fight a supernatural threat (Vampires and monters in Sereph and Titans for Shingeki) -They are both set in worlds were humanity has a natural predators and lives hidden -The plot is similar as well as some characters -In both series there are characters who have untapped potencial 

Titans/Vampires are my trigger!! That's basically what the main characters say. Both of these shows deal with humanity on the brink of survival in a world where non human beings are trying to kill them. The main characters are all gung ho about killing the other beings, have a special ability that no one else has, are hunted down by multiple people, and have a friend named Mika/Mikasa. Attack on Titan is definitely the better of the two, but Seraph of the End is a good watch if you enjoyed Attack on Titan. 

Both anime are set in a theme of monsters and destruction. In both anime, the protagonists have a feeling of revenge (due to death of their loved ones) to take down these monsters, but both of them were a turned into something non-human. Also, in both anime, the human civilization has been pushed to its brink and is now living within a confined environment due to thee monsters. Both anime also have a Army-based theme about them. 

Another story about humanity's survival but are not titans are vampires.  

Almost identical plots. MC's family is killed by superior beings, MC grows up plotting revenge for the ones who killed his family, MC joins a group that fights back against superior, MC kicks ass and takes names. The MC even look exactly the same  

Both anime are similar in the way that is apocalyptic, with Shingeki no Kyojin being humans against titans and with Owari no Seraph being humans against vampires. The main characters of both, Eren (SNK) and Yuuichiro (OnS) are both teenagers seeking revenge for a close family member being killed/attacked by either a vampire or a titan (Eren's mother or Yuuichiro's foster family). Both have the strong female lead, Mikasa and Shinoa, dominating the main boy yet protecting them. Both Armin (SNK) and Yoichi (OnS) are characters that are emotionally/physically weak at first but soon grow and become strong and determined. Jean (SNK) and Kimizuki (OnS) are both strong characters that at first both have spats with the protagonist in the beginning of the series, and some of these fights are used comedically, but stand together when fighting. Both of these anime are strictly action and have barely any fan service or romantic themes in them. These are my own opinions and others may think that these characters don't resemble each other, which isn't really the point, but these are both great series worth looking into. I thoroughly enjoyed both, but not everyone would be very into this. Someone who likes SNK may like OnS and someone who likes OnS may like SNK. THESE ARE MY OPINIONS AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO AGREE/DISAGREE.   

Both of them is similar because: -They both is set in a world where humanity population has been crippled and fights for survival, defending themselves against vampires (Owari no Seraph)/ titans (Shingeki no Kyojin) -Both main characters tries to take revenge, and kill all vampires/titans -Both main characters has a similar personality. If you enjoyed Shingeki no Kyojin, I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy Owari no Seraph.  

-Both main characters are male -Both main characters get their family killed -Titans = Vampires -Both are about the survival of humanity -In both series humans are viewed as livestock -In both the protagonist joins an army place to fight against the monsters -Both protagonists grow a hate for the creatures -Both protagonists seek revenge  

-Both are dystopian societies that are fighting their predators. -Both have military groups that protect the society. -The main characters both had someone important taken away from them; they want revenge. They both seek the annihilation of their predators. -Although they don't have the same art style and colour scheme, Owari no Seraph reminded me of Attack on Titan. They have more similarities than you think. Both are great animes to watch if you're a fan of dystopian worlds. 

Both straight forward MC's who only cares about revenge. It's all about avenging family! Shingeki no Kyojin - Eren Yeager whom live a normal life years before the Colossal titan attacked Wall Maria. Afterwards, There was one unexpected day where the Colossal titan appeared and shocked every people's expectation. Eren and his friends were taking a walk inside the wall minutes before the titan attacked. Then after the titan appeared Eren ran and tried to go to his house and sadly saw his mother wounded and trapped in a pile of blocks. Unfortunately, his mother died and then Eren became so obsessed of avenging his mother and promised to protect his family "Mikasa" and also he will kill all the titans. Owari no Seraph - Yuichiro Hyakuya is an orphan who was sent in an orphanage with kids. He lived there a great life then after a Virus named "Seraph of The End" appeared in all cities of Japan. But then, This Vampire creatures appeared and abducted humans kids who can't be infected with the Virus. Yuichiro Hyakuya hates his everyday life in the vampires place. And even says that vampire sucks caring a livestocks of human. One day, He planned to escape in the Vampire's place together with his 2nd family. But all of them was killed except him. After he got outside. He was saved by a group of humans named to be a member of the Japan Imperial Dragon Army and asked him if he hates vampire then he said he will join this organization and promised to kill all the vampire and avenge his family.  

They do have similar type of drama and plot: - Basically humanity is at the brink of extinction and humans are fighting for survival - The protagonist joins an elite squad to revenge his family - The protagonist has a "special" ability , and the story kinda revolves around it 

These two anime are very similar because the main characters both want revenge on the species that killed their family, have a weak but smart friend, is rivalling a friend, and comes close to death several times. Both of the anime's first episodes give me the same feel because well.... reasons. I suggest you check it out and this if my recommendation is spot on! 

-Both MC joined the army -Both series got strong enemies (SnK= titans and OnS=vampires) -cool anit-gear (Snk=3D maneuver gear and OnS= Cursed gear) -Both MC act cool, but are scared inside -Mysterious experiments in both series? -Most characters in both series experienced smth really sad. -Both MC has the desire to kill the enemies OP: The series has a lot in common, but after some episodes they are really different. I myself, watched OnS first and then SnK, but I think you can also watch the other way around. Most people even say that Yu = Eren 2.0 lol :P. So definitely check it out, it might be smth you like. 

Humanity is about to be annihilated by another specie vaguely known to humans. In both series, the main characters driven by their hatred against beasts, seeking vengeance for their treasured memories. To do this, they both enter a troupe for exterminating the beasts. 

Snk is very similar to OnS. WARNING : SPOILERS AHEAD, SCROLL TO BOTTOM For starters, both animes have a young lead role, and when the action began to surface in both animes, Yuichiro (OnS) was twelve and Eren (SnK) was 10/11. Next, both animes have some sort of apocalypse, in which the main character(s) wants to defeat the cause/enemy. In SnK, it's the Titans, and in OnS, it's the Vampires. Another similarity I found was that in both of these shows, one of the main characters is 'turned into' their enemy. For example, in SnK, Eren becomes a titan shifter after trying to defend Trost, and he can turn to a titan with a strong goal in his mind. In OnS, Mika is turned into a vampire while him and his 'family' were trying to escape the vampires. Speaking of which, during both of these incident, the main character is feared dead. Eren is feared dead after he is supposedly 'eaten' by a titan, and Mika is feared dead after he is supposedly 'eaten' by a vampire. However, neither of them are dead. *Those are only three of the many similarities between these two animes. If you liked Shingeki no Kyojin, there is a very high chance you would like Owari no Seraph. END OF SPOILERS *: I do not recommend watching OnS after SnK. Chances are, you've already suffered a major heartbreak during SnK, and OnS is the same way. I learned the hard way, haha.  

(also on my review) 1:Humanity on the brink of extinction from a super powerful enemy. 2:A black haired MC who wants revenge for his family getting killed. 3:An overall military theme, with one superior officer taking a liking to the MC. 4:Cool uniforms. 5: (Minor spoilers, skip this one)...... Both MC have an ability activated by either near death, or server pain, and become (one of the enemies) and becomes OP. 6:A large, unique cast, but with a main focus on the main squad, and the superior officer. 7:A decent amount of mystery behind what's going on, and what cause humanity to nearly die off. Also feels similar to "Black bullet"   

Both share similarities: - both are people fighting to survive - Titans x Vampires - both have characters development through the episodes - intense action battles. - sword fighting. 

Both shows deal with the human race being near its extinction from creatures that eats humans. At the brink of extinction they have special soldiers to exterminate the beings whose consuming humans.  

Well those two animes are similar in a lot of things first: both main characters seek revenge for their family,second:both of the enemys sees humans as live stock in owari no seraph they see them as live stock cause they drink their blood and in shingeki no kyojin they see them as live stock cause they eat them that was my point thanks for listening :) 

Mankind endangered... the heroes are needed to protect the mankind from dangerous titans (Shingeki no Kyojin) and bloodlust vampires (Owari no Seraph). Therefore, Eren and Yuuichirou were born to protect the mankind with their unbelievable ability. They with their companion worked hard to destroy the enemies and save mankind. Fear, sadness, and desperation wrap every situation in both anime. Watch it and you will join and know how much effort spend by Eren and Yuuichirou to save and protect the mankind. 

Similarities: -Both main characters get their family killed at a young age -Both have creatures that are a threat to humanity -Both are about the survival of humanity -Both made by WIT Studio -In both humans are viewed as livestock -In both the protagonist joins an army place to fight against the monsters -Both protagonists start out in the series as young children then for most of the series are teens -Both protagonists grow a hate for the creatures -Both protagonists seek revenge Main differences: -SNK has titans while ONS has vampires -In ONS a lot of humanity was killed by a disease -ONS is more modern -ONS partly takes place in a highschool while in SNK most of the series is spent on training or fighting -ONS actually had it's second season released shorty after the first -In ONS the characters use a variety of weapons (swords, axes, etc.) while in SNK everyone uses one weapon (3D Maneuver Gear)   

Both series star a naive protagonist whom strives to protect their said family and defeat evil. -Eren & Yuu have similar personalities, morals and both strive to defeat the antagonists (titans & vampires) of their series -A story about the struggle for humanity -Both protagonists wish nothing more than for the annihilation of the "monsters" that roam earth. and seek revenge -Both protagonists have lost a loved one(s) -Both face similar problems -If you like either of these animes you'll like the other 

Both revolve around humanity's recovery from near extinction. Both were animated by Studio WIT. Both are set within a walled off portion of a larger island within which the vampires/titans cannot attack the citizens. I simply prefer vampires over titans as the battles tend to be more strategy based and less going for the nape of the neck. That and the fact that Seraph of the End doesn't suffer from having a plethora of unimportant characters with little character development that will likely be killed off like SNK. 

The first two eps of Owari were so similar to SNK that I was afraid it was a case of blatant plagiarism. I had to pause the series and check their background to see if this was a case of plagiarism or not. Turns out, both anime come from the Same studio - WIT. So I guess they were trying to replicate the success of SNK. # Eren and Yuu both have anger issues and don't respond well to authority # Armin and Yoichi are the shotas that are saved by the protags from bullies, and end up being besties # Levi and Guren are the strict father like figures in the lives of the protags (which doesn't stop fangirls from shipping them with each other) # They both live in a world where roughly 90% of the human population has been rid of by supernatural creatures, whose origins remain a mystery # Supernatural creatures in both series look at humans as nothing but "cattle" # Both male protags are obsessed with ridding the world of these supernatural creatures. There are many other similarities, but they don't immediately come to mind. If you liked SNK, then Owari is a watered down fantasy version of the same. Go in with low expectations and you'll end up enjoying the series.   

Both of these animes show the human race as being inferior to a Supernatural force that is Bent on taking them out,so the human Race decides to fight and take back the world they once had. Both of the stories see the main character as Weak at first but through pain and Trials and hard work he becomes Driven,Strong and ready for anything.  

The plot and characters are very similar. If you liked the revenge story in Shingeki, you'll love this. 

Similarities: -Humanity survival thing -Main character screaming constantly thing (A LOT more so for AOT though) -Edgy senpai (senpai for the fandom I mean) thing -Army forces thing -Experiment thing How they differ: -AOT is obviously about Titans, while OnS focuses more on Vampire vs Humans/Demons -The characters do differ quite a bit -The MC for OnS actually develops pretty well in the second season. 

Similar universe of plots. 

The stories of those two Anime are somehow the same ,both of them are showing you how the mankind is trying to abandon the enemy that is besieging it. 

Both animes feature people who live fearing another stronger species , while being confined behind protective walls . 

It's literally like attack on titan, just vampires instead of titans and the fact that Owari no seraph has more focus on characters and it's not so serious all the time like attack on titan. They have chill and cute moments, more humour and better build relationships. (for example Mika and Yuu, the main characters of the show)  

Kinda similar concept, in owari no seraph vampires destroyed most of the humanity while in aot the titans did however owari is more focused on the battles that goes on against the two factions humans and vampires, recommended if you liked a lot the last seasons of aot 

Both are post-apocalypse where the main character is driven by his tragic past to kill the ones who killed his family. In both there is a bad ass character that saves the main character. 

Likewise story surrounding the fate of humanity and its survival. - Shingeki no Kyojin and Owari no Seraph both can be categorized into similar kind of post-apocalyptic world. - Both of the series have been produced by the same animation studio (Wit Studio) and have Sawano Hiroyuki as soundtrack composer. So, you can expect some mind losing music. - Humanity seems to be at the brink of extinction in both series and is endangered by another species (titans - vampires). - In both series, the MC joins the squad battling against the enemy and seeks revenge for their deceased family. - The animation style is quite similar. I bet you would very much like this series if you enjoyed Attack on Titan.  

Another story about humanity's survival. Shingeki no Kyojin and Owari no Seraph both share some parallels. Firstly, they are produced by the same animation studio (Wit Studio) and share the same soundtrack composer, Sawano Hiroyuki. In terms of story, in both worlds, humanity is at the brink of extinction and is endangered by another species (titans - vampires). The protagonist is also a young boy who joins a squad to fight that species and to take revenge for losing a family member. In both anime, the atmosphere is a dark and serious one and the animation style is quite similar. If you are a fan of Shingeki of Kyojin, you will probably enjoy Owari no Seraph as well.  

Both main characters develop in a similar way. In both anime both sides have the same perspective that others are the enemies. Overall i think they're similar. Also they're made by Wit Studio so theres that (Shingeki no Kyojin seasons 1-3). 

Both anime take place during some sort of an apocalypse with these human like creatures taking over the world, driving the humans to almost go extinct. Also both animes protagonist are stubborn boys who will do anything that they can to kill the creatures taking over the world. 

Both anime feature a male mc who is driven by their revenge and hatred towards either vampires or titans. To be frank, they even have similar personalities.  

The titans and vampires are kinda treated the same way. There's this whole "war between vampires and humans" which is similar to the "war between titans and humans".  

-Similar atmosphere of dread and hopelessness beyond their control. -As quickly as the story progresses so does the urge of survival. -Dark mystery twists. 

Both series include dark mysteries. Both are about survival. Humans against non-humans. In both series the main three characters are close childhood friends, bonded with something stronger than blood relation, and they protect each other like a family.  

-Both have huge plot twists towards the end of the first episode -Both have a post apocalyptic setting -Both focus on kids trying to fight against the cruel world they've awoken to -Both create drama by making the main villains primary goal to eat humans, implying that we aren't on the top of the food chain in their world 

- Almost same set up where there is an outside world that is different from the world they knew. - Trio protag - Same dark vibes/atmosphere - Both dystopian  

The enemy forces are unknown creatures without a clear origin ,with the traitors everywhere,The environment is isolated from the other world  

My first impression of this anime : 'This feels awfully like Attack on Titan' There are three main protagonists like Eren, Armin and Mikasa. They were surrounded by wall and trying to escape it (Although the wall doesn't play that big role in here like in Attack on Titan does). There's also these human eater creatures. Also I think Eren say something similar about them being trapped inside a wall like cattle. Well, in this case they are literally the cattle. I'd say there are also Death Note feel to it, but I lean more towards Attack on Titan. 

We have a dreary, mysterious World, young people risking their lives for freedom, and plenty creepiness, darkness, and heart-stopping action! 

A group of people trapped inside of walls trying to escape from "monsters " that are trying to eat them. Both groups do some kind of training, trying to fight/escape the titans/demons. The main three characters of each anime have some similarities as well. 

If you liked the plot about humans not being on the top of the food chain in Attack on Titan then you will definitely like story about kids trying to escape the fate of being eaten in The Promised Neverland 

At first sight these animes may not have to much similarities but the sensations of mistery and intrigue to know what is outside the primary and early location of the plot. 

Both shows feature characters inside an area closed off by a wall/fence, possibly keeping someone/something out. Without spoiling much, they're both dark and are based on the main characters trying to survive their situations. 

Both manga are about humans trying to surrive in a world in which they aren't the dominant predators anymore. 

Both have a scary deep world where there is creatures that are a huge threat for the human race and the main characters are trying to get out of their bubble that they have been locked in to try to kill/stop the creatures that are basically eating humans as their lunch 

Both are dark, mystery horror series with lovable characters, nice ost and awesome animation.  

The setting of both shows is very similar. Both shows start of with three main charakters living in a place encircled by walls seperating them from the outside world. The main charakters both have a very strong sense of freedom and have their own idea of a true peaceful life. They also have a very dark atmosphere and lots of mysteries about the world with some twists here and there.  

In both anime - children heroes live in a cage surrounded by monsters.

The two series both subvert expectations. Sometimes you think where a series is headed, but its probably wrong. There are a lot of mind fucks going on. The Promised Neverland doesn't really have to do with politics or have gore like Attack on Titan, but they both really mess with the viewer. (I really can't say anything else or it will probably spoil)  

Both have mystery, being trapped behind a wall and monsters trying to kill them 

-eating humans -trying to discover the world outside -smart protagonists 

Walls, man-eating monsters, and ways to escape, both of these keep you on the edge of your seat.  

Both animes make you ask alot of questions about the anime, there also leaves alot of cliff hangers too which adds suspense 

People often recommend these with one another, and they really are similar. Both have similar three leads, and both have similar premises. In AOT, giants are eating humans and you are forced to live in a wall. In TPN its the opposite, you are eaten inside the wall. Both want to escape to a better world. There is gore, horror and psychological aspects in each titles. However AOT is more long running and is alot more violent and dark. I cant guarantee if you like one you will enjoy another, but they are similar af and are both good anime.  

Both very dark anime, with great storylines 

Both have creatures that are a huge source of fear for the humans characters as they actively eat people.  

Both anime about humans trying to survive from other creatures😶 

- trio of main protagonists - shock value - horror themes - destroyed peace - tension - intergenerational "racial" conflict - theme of war and peace - dark, mysterious and well-structured world - "outside the walls" motive  

Both based on determination to survive, strategy making and existential themes. Arguably Promised Neverland is more intense about all the three mentioned above but that's subjective since it handles that in a more subtle and often plot driven way. It's attention intensive due to that reason. Comparatively, it has more psychological horror, strategy making, mystery and suspense instead of action but also with less edge of the seat moments. The promised neverland although has similar and very well-written characters, doesn't have as much character variation and if action wasn't AoT's best aspect for you, it can definitely fill the hole AoT leaves. Without comparison, Promised neverland is it's own approach at the same themes seen in AoT and it's very good at it, as do the ratings speak for themselves. It's an anime worth watching on it's own.  

In both of the anime, there are 'monsters' that eat human beings. In both of the anime, humans want to get past the wall and know what is and what can be seen beyond it. In both of the anime, tactics and strategies are needed to get past the wall. In short terms, humans are using their brains and not force or magic powers.  

Both have great OST. Both have great animation. But most importantly, in both of these amazing animes there are so many questions. In time they both answer these questions but those answers result in even more questions. While watching them you always feel on the edge and wonder what's going to happen and I think this is one of the most important things. Both are dark and lowkey twisted. Overall, they both are great animes and if you love watching Shingeki no Kyojin I believe you'll love Yakusoku no Neverland as well.

Both shows are very similar in concept. Without going into spoilers, they follow the same structure. Think of The Promised Neverland Season 1 as the equivalent of Attack on Titan Seasons 1-3, as they can both be separated in two parts: before “x discovery” and after “x discovery”. The story-telling and world-building in both shows are great and I’m excited to see how The Promised Neverland will follow Attack on Titan’s footsteps. 

Both anime are dark fantasy, and are set in a world where monstrous creatures feed on humans. Both of them add a horror-mystery element to the shounen genre. Both serve up the mystery and worldbuilding bit by bit, doing so beautifully. And there is a lot of character death, of course. Both have characters that completely change the perspective of the audience from what we initially thought. And also, remember to never underestimate the side characters of these shows!

Post-apocalypse! World-building! Plot twist! If you like animes that are dark then Attack on Titan and Promised Neverland are the best for you. People trapped inside the walls in attack on Titan and kids trapped in farmhouse. Both are similar in plot wise that it will get you invested throughout the whole show. Both involving mystery you will love it. These shoes are a must watch in case of my opinion.

Both anime have a strong mystery element that will make you question the nature of what exactly is lurking outside. What is outside? What is the world like? As a viewer, you really want to find out. This mystery will grip you almost instantly!  

There both inside walls and about to get eaten by 'monsters'.

Yakusoku no Neverland is almost similar to Shingeki no Kiyojin because they are inside the walls without knowing what is outside the walls. They want to go outside the wall. And there are man eating Demons/Titans. 

Similar plot start-up with a mysterious world that is expanded upon over time 

I recommend this anime to all those who want to approach an anime that over time, without spoilers, will have an unprecedented story. If you also like swords and giant monsters, this work is for you, even if this is the peculiarity of the work. The attack of the giants is a mixture of mystery and discovery, it will lead you to follow the story by making you empathize and identify with the characters of the story. In my opinion, the attack on the giants is one of the most successful anime transpositions from a manga that in my opinion is clearly superior to the anime. Unfortunately I can't give you who knows what previews, click play on the first episode and enjoy the story.  

I think that the freedom and fear elements are what make these anime similar. The freedom element is similar as in AOT they are trying to get beyond the walls and Paradis island and etc and TPN is that that they are trying to escape the slaughterhouse. The fear element is that in AOT they fear the titans and in TPN they fear the demons that want to eat them. 

The Promised Neverland is similar to Attack On Titan in the sense that neither you nor the characters know what's going on, i.e, you discover the plot of the anime together.  

Both have similar vibes - children having to make tough decisions where their lives will depend on their actions, humanity under attack, and just really interesting themes and sacrifices being made 

Both are about a group of people who are trapped in some sort of environment that is closed off to the outside world. They fight to uncover secrets about a world dominated by monsters. They have similar premises but also are very different. Only watch Season 1 of The Promised Neverland, after that I highly recommend reading the manga.

The world outside the walls 

Humanity on the brink of extinction. They built a barrier/wall to protect themselves from the Titan/Gastrea. That wall will soon collapse. Only a select few of people are capable of killing these Titan/Gastrea. End of humanity is upon them. Will they survive in the end? Kaji Yuuki does the voice of the main character in both series.  

In order to to save humanity from the brink of extinction from a mysterious catastrophe, the remaining people have built a barricade around the area that they live in. In both series, only a few special individuals have the power to fight the monsters. While SnK is set in a medieval-ish world, Black Bullet is set in a futuristic one. Both MC are voiced by Yuki Kaji.

Both series take place in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is on the verge of extinction due to giant monster like creatures. Both series have a city built inside giant walls to keep said monsters out.

Throughout watching the series Black Bullet, I can definitely note some key similarities to that of the 2013 success "Shingeki no Kyojin". Firstly, the most apparent similarity is that of the theme subject that evolves through both of these animes- Humanity suffered a terrible crisis in the past, and built themselves protective 'walls' or 'barriers' to help prevent the crisis from reoccurring. What was the crisis? The evolution of dominant species who have it in their power to wipe out the entire of humanity. In Shingeki no Kyojin these manifest themselves as 'titans' who posses a minorly gigantic human appearance, and in Black Bullet they manifest themselves as giant insect-appearing 'Gastrea'. These animes also prove themselves to be similar within the plot, in that there are specially trained humans who require some sort of aid in order to fight and combat the giants that may infiltrate the walls. In Shingeki no Kyojin their aid is the 3D Maneuver gear, and in Black Bullet their aids are the child-like companions whom posses unique abilities, as well as the specially designed bullets. It is also important to note that the protagonist for both animes are voiced by the same actor (this is for those who watch it subbed and not dubbed). In my opinion I also find the anime openings to have some sort of similar genre of music to them, but this in itself is my pure opinion and some people may not view this to be 100% accurate. There are also similarities with regards to the spoilers that are revealed within the shows, but due to my interest into not wanting to spoil the show, you will just have to find out by watching the two and judging for yourself.

-both express the themes of suffering and the loss of humanity -both depict worlds blockaded by Monoliths in Black Bullet and Walls in Shingeki no Kyojin -these defenses are to protect the area from the Gastrea in Black Bullet and the Titans in Shingeki no Kyojin -both feature specific weapons specialized to defeat the enemy party, Varanium bullets in Black Bullet and the 3D Maneuver Gear in Shingeki no Kyojin -both have similar Openings -they give off the same vibe Conclusion: Both indeed have similar qualities despite Black Bullet having a slight lighter ambiance.  

Both involve the human race confined to a small area, some force constantly terrorizing them (Gastera and Titans), and those who are helping save the humans are feared (Cursed children and Eren). 

In both animes, people are almost extinct. The ones who are left live in a small enclosed earea and are threatened by big "things". They'll have to fight to survive. Also, some part in the intro song from Black Bullet immediatly made me think of the intro from SnK. 

The obvious post-apocalyptic comparaison. They are both set in an universe were the humanity have almost fallen and his constantly torn by internal and external conflict. The MC have different goal, but they both do well in what in they do. While I think SnK is better, his slow-pacing can be annoying, though BB is sometime way too fast-paced. 

In both of those animes there are big monsters which want to destroy the human world for an unknown reason. They both are about the humans who strike back to defend their world from those monsters. In both of them the humanity is driven into a corner and on the brink of extermination.

Both of them are similar because both of them are about human civilizations being on the verge of extermination. Both are epic post apocalyptic type genres. Shingeki no Kyojin tells about the sorrows and pains of young boy named Eren Jaeger who has lost his mother due to titan eating her. Rentaro, in Black Bullet, is similar to Eren in that sense, who becomes a civil security member because of the death of his parents who died because of the gastrea virus.  

If you like horror and blood, this is absolutely perfect for you. Both anime involve being hidden inside walls, and battling supernatural beings. 

Black Bullet and Shingeki no Kyojin encompass a world in which humanity is in a brink of extinction and are threated by a supernatural force. Both of the male protagonists are voiced by the same person and have very similar attitudes. They are also known by their peers as "humanity's last hope 

Humanity on the way to be exterminated, they build a wall for protect the last part of the humanity against monsters (Titans/Gastrea), The main protagonist (Rentarou/Eren) want to fight against the invader for survive and exterminate them, some people will join the main protagonist for fight against the invaders. 

-Titans(SNK)=Gastrea(BB). They are basically creatures superior to humanity -Mankind defeated by Titans/Gastrea in both animes to the point of near extinction -Both animes are in a setting protected by walls of some sort against the opposing force -Time frame of 5 years(SNK)/10 years(BB) after the defeat of humanity -Survey Corps=Initiators (last hope for mankind) -Main character hates Titans/Gastrea since they killed his parents -Mysteries: SNK-What is inside Eren's basement? BB-Who is the masked man that claims to destroy the world? -Mankind in both animes will be exiled into smaller territory in the future

Each story is based around the human race being almost erased by giant monsters and they are now living in a limited space. Main characters have many similar qualities (and the same voice actor in Japanese). Contain people fighting against all odds to save the human race who have powers that could save the human race. 

Both story is apocalyptic and has a common enemy which makes humanity endangered. Although Shingeki shows more gore and violent scenes than in Black Bullet 

Both of these anime are about getting invaded about something surperior than your own kind. In these anime series they try to find a way to defeat these creatures and both of these are very dark

Black Bullet is very different though, as there are initiators and promoters, which actually has a bit of a twist. I'll stop there, but if you liked Shingeki no Kyojin, I recommend Black Bullet, and vice versa.

Both take place mostly within protective walls that keep their predators out. The main complication in both animes is that the walls are broken and the characters must fight to defend humanity against their predators. In other words, both have their main defense against creatures that have been preying upon them broke down and they must fight against them in order to save humanity.

Similarities: In both universes , peapole figthing versus environnement for the survival of the humanity , in SNK u got the titans , but in black bullet , there is also the Geastras .  

Both series have the same kind of plot: the humanity is threatened by some kind of monsters, and the protagonist have to save all the people he loves. 

In both animes there people attacking monsters. The MC has a special power. In both animes there is a girl who is supporting the MC. In Shingeki no Kyojin there walls. In Black Bullet there is some kindo of strange walls that protects the city too.  

- Both series' have a similar apocalyptic setting involving large creatures (Titans/Gastrea) that have previously caused havoc in their respectives homes, with "walls" built for protection as a result. -Both protagonists are confined within the protection of the walls and serve to defend their people from said creatures. -The openings. Just listen to the openings. (•̀⌄•́) 

- Both stories take place in a post-apocalyptic setting. - They also have the same messages to the viewers, for example that the apocalypse is not their only enemy. - The two shows have a similar feel to them, with humanity having to combat giant creatures. - Both of these animes follow same kind of plot, and have some gruesome battle scenes. - Both have good special effects which makes watching them more enjoyable. - In both anime people are living in secured environments surrounded by deadly monsters, and one day something goes wrong. SnK has a better developed story though. - They both have good drama scenes in my opinion and the same main voice actor (Yuuki Kaji) which good because the two anime are similar and Kaji-san is fit for both roles. If you like end of the world scenarios, mystery, and plenty of violence, then these two titles may be your cup of tea.   

Humanity struggles against a powerful threat inside barriers that (at least in theory) should protect them against said threat. 

Humans are trapped in massive walls surrounded by monsters, one of the walls is broken by the alpha monster.... Groups of people fight for humanity. Main character had experience with the monsters when they were younger. Both pretty dark and involve lots of death.

So many similariities that i seriously recommend everyone to watch both if you love this kind of plot >Humanity on brink of extinction >Humanity confined within walls/barriers for survival >MC is part of govt/military >MC is serious, mature and battle capable >Questionable actions on moral grounds from government/monarchy within walls 

they both are set in cities with big wall/pillars and have giant enemies, both of them are not afraid to kill characters off, also both Main characters are awesome, Eren Yeager is more of Crazy powerful nut job which i prefer  

Again post-apocalyptic = AOT And story wise AOT is far superior But you'll find lolis and a yandere in here 

Both series have humanity living inside walls, blocking them from the rest of the world because of a supernatural species outside the walls that threatening their livelihood.  

There's a reason they have both become such a hit. Because they were brilliantly epic! If you intend to make your tv show life worthwhile, watch this show next. Strong plot, strong character, strong music. All in one made a show the best. 

The loss of mothers plays a significant roll in shaping the characteristics of the protagonists of these two shows. The main characters are enrolled in some kind of military because of personal reasons and are fighting against supernatural enemies. The setting is an alternative steampunk-ish world with the similar use of tools and weapons. Both are considered shounen anime but tend to look like a seinen because they feature above-average violent situations and epic fights but also deep conversations and some philosophy about the human mentality. The animation is not really that similar but the coloring is, using earthy and dusty color almost always.  

FMA brotherhood is my favorite tv anime, but shingeki kyojin has the potential to top that which i thought was impossible. Both protagonists have an incredibly tragic beginning which opens up into an amazing story that is based off of this tragic event. warning fma brotherhood leans more on the shounen side, while shingeki no kyojin has a lot of gore and a a good amount of "what the fuck moments". 見てください！このアニメわすげい楽しいですから見て！ 

- Kids used to live in a peacefull city - The main characters are siblings + childhood friend - The 'trigger' is the death of the mother (and wow, they look similiar and they even have the same Voice Actor) - Even though the father is alive, he seems to be absent in the beginning. Both dads have a similar appearance and they seem to be involved in the 'mystery' (titans/alchemy) - There's a focus on military - Almost the same amount of blood/violence/gore - There are also some strong female characters, without fanservice - Both live in a westernized world  

Well, there's certainly a similar vibe in terms of family loss based on the two main characters of the series. In fact, Eren & Mikasa from SnK/Edward & Alphonse from FMA: Brotherhood lost family members after tragedies. These left emotional scars in themselves and made a strong impact throughout their lives. However, they are able to stay alive and take back what's theirs through determination and instinct. There is a focus of military in both series although for very different reasons. The main characters gets involved directly with the military for their own reasons as well. Throughout the series, their skills increase as they fight for what they believe in. Both series contain plenty of chances for drama, action, and emotional moments. There are occasional comedic moments as well (more so in FMA: Brotherhood). Both series also contains tragic scenes that has left painful memories into the characters of their worlds.  

Similar setting: military, young adults/children in war, political conspiracy, man vs fate/god Feature a trio of three young protagonists (Ed/Al/Winry, Eren/Armin/Mikasa) Similar themes: loss of family, revenge, facism, imperialism, genocide 

Now plot-wise these two share little similarities other than the fact that each anime's main protagonist is a younger male who loses his mother in the beginning of the story. The reason for my recommendation is the incredible quality these two (mature) anime share. Both have incredible stories, with numerous plot twists. Both are very action-heavy and don't hold back any punches with gore and mature themes. If you enjoy one of these, then I'm certain you will enjoy the other. 

*Also similar to the 2003, but Brotherhood was better* There's a thing that makes the main character different from the rest, a special power of some sort. Their parents play a key role in the plot, and both the daddies are mysterious fellows. The stories themselves are amazing, and also pretty dark and gory. To top it off, the soundtracks for both are phenomenal.  

The main characters are both thrust into the epic battles after losing their mothers. The enemies on both series tend of get their body parts blown off a lot, but they just regenerate themselves. The orchestrated soundtracks are really good and fitting for the situations they're used in, and battles tend to span multiple episodes. 

Both feature Teen's boy with terrible home-live, fighting to protect humanity, alone with their sibling and Blonde sidekick. Have very engaging stories, with actual character development and plot-twist a plenty. Both are very famous in the Anime Community, so you really should watch both  

- Eren and Ed both lose their mother and this changes their lives for ever. - Both mothers happen to be voiced by Yoshino Takamori. Coincidence? I think not. - Similar amount of gore - Stories that never fail to leave you guessing - Easily breaking all 'typical' shounen story cliches - Lots of thought provoking underlying messages - NO blatant fanservice and weak female 'damsel in distress' characters - LOTS of badassery - High quality animation, AMAZING OSTs and faithful-to-the-manga adaptions - Historical settings The two anime have similar underlying themes but are different in terms of actual plot so it's easy to compare them without feeling like one is ripped off from the other. If you like one you should definitely watch the other.  

While both series are basically not comparable to anything else ever created i think they have similarities in the realism of characters in there reactions to situations.  

Both series involve main characters who face through extremely difficult situations from loss, revenge, sadness, pain, and suffering. Edward Elric and Eren Jaeger have a strong drive that motivates them to achieve their goals as Edward wants to recover his body back from committing a taboo while Eren wants to not only adventure outside the walls, but also wants to kill all Titans. They also want to protect their friends no matter what the cost is. There are many plot twists and many moments within both series where you don't know what the outcome will be. They have a lot of suspense and have very intriguing stories. However, the story in Attack on Titan is darker than FMA. Both series have a vast array of characters who all serve a purpose to the main story. You really come to love some of these characters as you see them develop or change and some have unique personalities. However, you never know which characters will survive until the end. Both series involve the protagonists facing enemies who seem almost invincible and must use their skills and wit to outmatch them. They also have plenty of beautifully animated action scenes and powerful soundtracks with orchestras that draw you into the story even more.  

Both protagonists from Shingeki no Kyojin and FMA:B (Eren and Edward repectively) have lost their mothers and both their fathers are missing. Both protagonists are arguably of European descent and live in a westernized world. They are both determined to make things right in a cruel world but they quickly realize the dream they are chasing concerns not only themselves and the people the hold dear but the rest of the world too. All the while, they try to figure out the enigma that is the world they live in and reconcile themselves with the cruelty of such a world and a sense of helplessness that it engenders. Both protagonists aim to reach their goal but in order to do so they must join the military, not knowing where it will take them.   

Both main characters have a goal to pursue. Both animes are full of light-hearted, dark and serious moments and both have plot twists which will leave you speechless. 

Let me start off with how both anime are complete masterpieces. You will notice some anime have good stories but aren't well told. These, however, are on godly levels. The most enjoyable anime are the intense ones, and fullmetal alchemist delivers. I wasn't kidding when I said that it is on a godly level. Not like in dbz where goku surpassed god in the first series, but to the point where the main villian in the show must sacrifice the entire world to gain the literal earth-shattering power to kill the god people admire so much. And only then will he unlock the true secrets of the universe. And then a traumatized soldier boy must stop him in order to gain his brothers long lost body from the never-ending door of knowedge. Holy sh*t. If you liked attack on titan, chances are you'll enjoy this.

-Both feature a fantasy world with types of magic that manage to feel somewhat grounded in our reality due to the lengths taken to make the world's people and architecture believable -Both protagonists are hot-headed and out for revenge -Both prominently feature a corrupt governement -Both see the main group of characters as part of the military, and both revolt against the military at some point 

- The father is gone and is a cruacial factor in the mystery. - The mother is dead as of the beginning of the story and is crucial for the enactment of the plot. - Siblings/best friends/cousins trio with two boys and one girl. - Epic female characters without fanservice. - Shingeki no Kyojin is more mature, whereas Brotherhood has plenty of (badly placed) humour. - The grand-scheme of things, the "who the bad guys are" aspect. - Both stories are set outside of Japan. - Military aspects - Main difference is that Shingeki no Kyojin is heavily muffled on its shonen aspects. It's more seinen than shonen, while Fullmetal Alchemist is Shonen all over the place(the "badly" placed humour makes it shonen) so on..  

Both are about a main character that lived a normal life but one day their life turns dark and grim, full of tragedy and agony due to losing someone close to them, both main characters refuse to move on from their past which makes them want redemption and revenge  

Revenge, Suffering, Agony and Redemption... Shingeki no Kyojin has a feeling of FMA Brotherhood in which a kid who lived a peaceful life gets thrown into a dark grim life full of tragedy and agony due to losing someone important to them. However, both main characters refused to move on and dedicated their lives for revenge and redemption. If you enjoy a full packed action dramatic plot you'll love both of these series.  

These anime series share the same formula, you can see other recommendations where people already mentioned those similarities. FMA has a little more light and funny tone with cheesy jokes and funny characters, while AoT is much more brutal and gives a lot of sad and dramatic moments, giving a taste of despair. Despite those differences they are very similar and the plot is quite intriguing. I enjoyed both, FMA is my favorite and AoT is the second favorite, but it may change when the story of AoT will be finished. 

Similar settings: vaguely fantastic medieval Europe in the throes of unstable governance. 

Fullmetal Alchemist (FA) has super humans or homunculus that preys on humans. Shingeki no Kyojin has Titans doing the same thing. Both anime is about the survival of human against a stronger species. Both are packed with action. Both anime have protagonists aging about 15-16 years old. Both have characters having European names. Both anime belong to the Military genre. 

A lot of fans have drawn similarities between the plot and the characters - Edward and Eren have very similar goals, character arcs, and backstories. The plot is also very similar - tragic childhood (Eren's mother was devoured by a Titan before his father went missing, and Edward's mother died due to an epidemic after his father went AWOL - he and Alphonse later attempted the sin of human transmutation in an attempt to resurrect her), etc. Both have a ton of action, feels, and great characters. Just watch out for the fandoms. 

Both series are set up in a world of moderate (but not modern) technological development, sketchy governments, messed up abilities (idk if alchemy or titans are worse lol), and horror. Both possess psychological and action oriented plot events. Attack on Titan is like the more mature (seinen) thematic counterpart to Fullmetal.

Both have amazing action scenes with a great story and characters 

Since Shingeki no Kyojin writer, Isayama Hajime announced that SNK anime and manga both end at the same time, I can only think of one anime that is as same as it, Fullmetal Alchemist : Brotherhood. Spoilers: They share many similarities. Characters, e.g. Edward = Eren Alphonse = Armin Winry = Mikasa Grisha = Van Hohenheim Carla = Trisha Roy Mustang = Levi They have some great fighting scenes and background music. It makes me enjoy. Most importantly, they are both great shows not because of popularity but quality. They show some significant issues like equivalent exchange and freedom. Therefore, I would like to recommend these two of the all-time great shows. 

Both of them are the greatest anime duos. If u are an anime fan u need to watch these. They are both masterpiece. Each character has a different and well written story and everyone is a very intersting character. U will love modt of the characters in these animes . Now talking about the hype moments i have never seen so many plot twists in an anime and ever plot twist will leave your jaws open . The story is written by a god ( Believe me u will think like this too ) . Just watch this anime and I can't say much or otherwise i will spoil it for u. Attack on Titan is known for its tightly woven plot and standout story, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is the only show I've seen that not only meets the high quality of AOT, but surpasses it. If your favorite parts of Attack on Titan were its cast of characters, the mystery presented, and the many layers of the story, then Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is the best show to watch to get more of this! 

Darker tones in the story but with very similar Main characters. Attack on titan, like Fullmetal is a masterpiece and truly a great anime to watch if you enjoyed Brotherhood! Attack on titan has great music, openings, and amazing story.  

similarities: - plot based so no filler - very cool and complex worldbuilding - both based on european cultures - a lot of interesting, diverse and complex characters - girbloss female characters differences - (FMAB) despite complex and emotional themes, the tone is an emotional rollercoaster and contains a lot of feel good and comedic moments as well as a lot of emotional moments - (FMAB) the character designs are more diverse and I enjoyed this anime more in terms terms of its visuals 

Artificial super humans trying to destroy mankind. Lots of military and political elements 

Both have similar supernatural powers and follow a main character who leads others and changes greatly throughout the story through facing problems of life and death. Both are also very well produced and the mangas they were adapted from are some of the best-rated of all time. Attack on Titan has enemies as titans and Marley, and Fullmetal has the enemies as the Homunculus and the father. Both are very well thought-out and are very dangerous, requiring both Eren Yeagar and Edward Elric to overcome huge problems throughout both of their shows. 

I think overall FMAB is the better show, but AOT is really the only show that I can compare it to. Both have some of the best characters and world building in all of fiction, if you like one of these shows, I would bet a lot of money that you would like the other. 

This is similar to Fullemetal alchemist due to the fact that both are centered around a teenage boy looking to avenge someone they love ( eren's mother, Ed's brother and mother). They both are very exiting and have amazing plots with suspense. Both are very emotional and have amazing and badass characters. ( levi, erwin, mustang, wrath) I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoyed fullmetal alchemist, it is my second favorite anime of all time. 

Both shows start with typical shonen introduction, but it goes into more intense and nasty (in a satisfying way) as the deeper layer of the plot got uncovered. The twist and complexity makes both series a really good binge-watch material, as the wait to the next episode is quite frustrating. 

Both are long running storydriven shonen series that tackle mature themes. 

both feature amazing fight scenes and heavily focuses on corruption within the military along with fantasy aspects 

Everyone has a goal in life. What are you left with when your mother is dead and your father has disappeared? All you have left is to fight. What are you left with when your homeland is invaded? All you have left is to fight. What are you left with when you know that the fate of the entire world rests on your shoulders? All you have left is to fight. The Elric brothers and the golden trio from Shiganshina have poor lives from the very first episodes, but they are fighting for freedom and a better world. And nothing will stand in their way, right? 

They're both set in a war era, military themed, both got MC who's parents left them too early. Except Fmab is more light hearted than AOT. 

Fighting for survival of humanity that is a theme that both of these anime have in common. The main characters both have to fight in order to survive and they obtain a certain power that changes everything. You will see blood gore, stunning fight scenese and epic powers. But beware this are some dark series... 

GORE,ACTION, FIGHT FOR HUMANITY: Main characters, Eren and Kaneki, start off as average humans against the antagonists of the story, Titans and Ghouls, which both eats humans but later on discovers much more than their own being... Some characters are also similar, such as Mikasa and Touka, as well as the plot develops deeper--the man vs. environment (monster) conflict turns into man vs. society. Also, both shows have badass music. 

Both have similar themes and thoughts about what it is to be a human or a monster. In both there is a lots of action and people get killed by a monsters while the main protagonist is struggling somewhere in the middle as a half of a monster and a half of a human. 

Similar characters, very good deep plot and more humans vs monsters (ghouls, giants)  

A lot of the character qualities are the same. Parallels between characters are easily drawn. The circumstances are a little different, but both protagonists have to overcome some of the same inner conflicts, before they are able to save everyone.  

- Both have a Type of organisms that eat humans . - Both have the character who belongs to the two conflicting teams . - Both have the same main character goal .

They both start out with the human population fearing cannibalistic monsters with human appearance and they are forced to fight them in order to survive, other ways they are similar would result in spoilers so ill skip that. They are also similar in the gore factor. 

Both have a alien type race trying to take over the earth and mankind joining forces to stop them 

A main character who believes himself to be average among humans, but is actually borderline monster... A supporting character who is much more skilled than the main with powers that exceed what is expected of her age... A power, ability or form that one must be able to control at all times to be able to live as a normal human... Both Tokyo Ghoul and Shingeki no Kyojin have elements that are similar to one another.  

Both of these series focus on a main character that is suddenly found to have new abilities, and the struggles of managing these unwanted powers. 

Action, drama, and great animation. The two series are about humans who are pushed into their darkest moment when threatened by man-eating monsters, and the effects this setting has on its protagonist. They have a very similar tone and, while avoiding spoilers, I will say both put the protagonist in similar positions, but they're very different characters. Shingeki no kyojin is set in a dark fantasy and feels more "epic," and Tokyo ghoul is set in modern Tokyo making it feel much more personal. 

-Both are reasonably gory -They share a theme of fighting for humanity -Both include 'monsters' (ghouls and titans) -The MC is quite discontented with his situation -A strong female character at the MCs side (Touka and Mikasa) -The 'monsters' in both eat humans While I have to mention that Tokyo Ghoul was a let down compared to the manga, the anime alone will be reasonably enjoyable if you liked Shingeki no Kyojin. 

In both animes the humanity is fighting for their survival. Also, insane graphics and battles! Two of my favourte animes of all time! I'm sure you won't regret watching them!  

Fight between humanity and titans/ghouls. Gore, violence, dark atmosphere, lots of action, fight for survival and fight for humanity. Good character development and sound tracks.  

Both have gore and violence scenes  

Both share a similar setting where beings is devoured by other beings. The main characters in both series share similar personality traits. (Eren & Kaneki) The male protagonists both struggle to become stronger along with control their inherited powers to protect the ones they care about. (Mikasa & Touka) Both tough females who support the main male protagonist. If you likes stories that involve cannibalism, with characters who constantly question humanity you'll enjoy both of these.  

its similar because the protagonists are given this power that they can only fully obtain by giving up there own humanity. there also now become open to a whole new world and struggle to adapt to it.  

First off, in both Shingeki no Kyojin and Tokyo Ghoul humans are hunted and eaten. Whether it be, swallowed whole or ripped to pieces and then eaten. The male protagonists in both animes are sort of similar in a way. Even though in the beginning Kaneki doesn't really fit the pissed off, fiery passion Eren has, they are still similar in some ways. 

This recommendation is really obvious to me. Both are shounen/seinen action with really wonderful direction and extremely fitting music. Attack on Titan has much better animation and a more addicting story. However, I found Tokyo Ghoul's characters and themes to be more compelling. Tokyo Ghoul is also a little more mature and has more elements of horror. Be warned, for AoT has a few pacing issues, and Tokyo Ghoul season 2 is quite divisive. I just feel like these two anime go hand in hand. Want something solid to watch while you wait for AoT 2? Try Tokyo Ghoul! Feel empty after seeing the end of √A? Give Shingeki no Kyojin a watch!  

Character death everywhere. They'll both rip your heart out. 100/10 would recommend if you like hurting yourself. Also, anti-establishment themes if that's your cup of tea. 

-Both are about humans fighting monsters. (Humans vs. Titans/Humans vs. Ghouls) -Both MCs become the monster. -Both are violent (Although TG is more gory and bloody). -Both animes involve eating humans. Both are great animes if you're a fan of gore and watching humans get eaten. 

The vibe in both cases are dark and enigmatic. They evolve around the idea about how humanity is rotting slowly from flesh-eating monsters.  

In both shows the main character ends up becoming one of the enemy due to someone close to them. The main characters also become incredibly strong because of their transformations. Lastly, in both shows the enemies eat human flesh and are hard to kill. 

They both have (like it or not) dumb protagonist with witty friends. For some peculiar reason Tokyo ghoul reminded me of AOT.  

- both include humanity fighting against a somewhat overwhelming enemy - the main protagonists are similar, they try to learn how to survive in their catastrophic worlds - beautiful soundtracks and awesome openings - very well animated action scenes - blood and gore - interesting weapons used to fight Titans and Ghouls - both have shocking plot twists that will keep you glued to the screen :) 

Both are dark and suspensful with an amazing characters. Both are original masterpices with an excellent animated battles.Both have a Type of organisms that eat humans, Both have the same main character goal. In both anime, the main character turns in to a monster the humans despise. Both involve a dark theme. In both of the anime the main characters at first are horrified by the fact that they are, or can turn in to a monster but they later suck it up and become badasses. 

If you like gore or violent like Shingeki no Kyojin then Tokyo Ghoul is a perfect genre for you to watch. From the plot, character, and the art. It really suited a gore and violent anime. So why don't you try to watch? Go, watch now!

While watching Attack on Titan, it reminded me a lot of Tokyo Ghoul: - both have human-eating monsters exist that threaten humanity (titans and ghouls) - MC's have similar personalities (Eren and Ken) - MC's are weak at first, but grow stronger - MC's have similar abilities and learn how to use them effectively - both have organizations leading humanity's fight (Survey Corps and CCG) - both have great action scenes and fights - both are dark, violent, and have a lot of gore (Tokyo Ghoul more so) - both have amazing openings Overall, if you liked the dark premise and general feel of one anime, you will most likely enjoy the other. 

Similar type of enemy. 

SPOILER -In both stories, humanity trys to defend itself from getting eaten by mysterious, creepy creatures that feed on human flesh. -The walls in Attack on Titan isolate everyone from the rest of the world. Ghouls are only in Tokyo, Japan (I might be wrong) which isolates Tokyo from the rest of Japan and the world with dealing with ghouls. - Eren and Kaneki lose their fathers and mothers at a young age. -Eren and Kaneki are able to become the monsters they fear/hate the most. - Eren and Kaneki both accept they are Titan and Ghoul and defeat Jason and Annie. Kaneki eats Jason and Eren tears open Annie's neck, almost devouring her. -They both have dedication to protect the people they care about. -Both of them have a sad, dark childhood. Kaneki was mentally and physically abused by his mother and Eren brutally killed two kidnappers, saving Mikasa. MIKASA AND TOUKA : -Both badass and brave and they are not afraid of making difficult choices. -They are both strong and decently powerful -Both are serious and don't usually smile alot -Both are feared -Mikasa cares for Eren in a big sister way but actually has feelings for him. Touka acts like a mean, stubborn friend who might have feelings for Kaneki. -Mikasa made Eren eat bread by shoving it into his mouth and Touka made Kaneki eat human flesh by shoving it into his mouth. ARMIN AND HIDE: -Both are friends of the main, male protagonist -Both seem useless at first but Armin turns out to be a good strategist and tactician and Hide is able to work his way into the CCG to locate and see Kaneki. JUUZOU AND HANJI : SIMILARITIES: -Both are crazy, wild and free spirited but can be serious when they need to be. -Both fight for the sake of humanity -Both are trap characters due to the fact that when Juuzou was introduced, he looked like a girl who turned out to be a boy and Hanji (in the manga) seems like a girl but could be a guy.   

Both animes are in a fantastic world with magic creatures but they have a good anime script, everything makes sense in the end, they are more serious than other animes.

Well, the tragedy plot is similar between these anime’s and it is recommendable that you watch one another if you’ve enjoyed one of these. 

idk both have being scared and running from a predator. They all have all a trope of accepting what there is or what they have and fight back. 

Both shows have humans being eaten by "monsters". The main characters in both shows turn into these "monsters" and have to deal with the way people fear them. This causes them to suffer unreasonably as people treat them extremely poorly. 

Dark!Blood!Death!If you have watched Attack on titan then Tokyo ghoul then you can handle Tokyo Ghoul as well.Both involve death where their loved one have wached being killed.Both have great world-building.Both have great character development.Both have concept called world=bad.

Similar storyline~ difference is between the 'titans' and 'ghouls' . Tokyo ghoul takes place in a modern time too lmao- whereas aot is in an old time period. both are amazing anime,, hope u enjoy em xx 

Both are series where humanity believes to be protected by walls that prevents them to be killed by Robots/titans. Both have incredible animation. Both have OST by Hiroyuki Sawano aka god. 

There is a kingdom inside walls, outside of them there is certain death. The protagonists learn more about the world and what's out there. There are battles with unknown creatures (titans, legions) and a mystery surrounding their existence. There's also Sawano making the music in both anime, so he might give similar vibes. 

-Both are about a fantasy world in which there is a looming threat that hunts the human race for no discernable reason -Both feature discrimination heavily in their political systems, with both having those of higher status farther from danger deeper in civilization -Both are distinctly based around the military of these societies, and feature fast paced action with highly mobile equipment to deal with the threat to the human race 

Human society is isolated from the outside world due to an long ongoing war against an unknown enemy. Tensions rise up as the safety of the city is threatened and a small group of soldiers use especial machinery to fight in the enemy territory. Gripping military action thriller that discusses war, loyalty, freedom, racism and politics. Top tier animation quality, epic Hiroyuki Sawano's soundtrack and lots of German references. 

Both AOT and 86 are war anime that address political themes in addition to certain humanitarian social issues that arise in the respective worlds. In both shows, a group of young people must deal with a danger that could cause all of humanity to perish. Together with excellent audiovisuals, both are excellent military action anime. 

Mecha Aliens instead of Titans. Male MC is a badass fighter like Levi.  

- Discrimination - World setting - Narrative - Action Scene - Animation Quality - Hiroyuki Sawano Ost 

Walls and war. Consistent conflict in such an unfair world. Such is the spark of retaliation, or at least, a hope for one. AOT and 86 are both war anime that touches on the topic of politics alongside some humane social issues that occur in said worlds. With 86 being a story of Lena, trying to defile the Republic's dehumanisation of the 86, AOT being the same, but in a more indirect way with humans fighting for their freedom. It is a match against the oppressors who oppose the natural right of man to be respected as the individual with choice. Whether that be due to discrimination, or natural orders calling forward the hierarchy, the individual with emotion and reason will seek rebellion. Both are pretty good military action anime, with high-quality audiovisuals accompanying too.   

Both anime are set in an dystopian timeline and deconstructs the ideology that fuels an overly militaristic, racist and fascist society. They also both contain sountracks composed by hiryuki sawano as well 

both tackles themes of racism, oppression and war. if you have spare time you should give 86 a try it's good!  

Well, if you like a series with a world-building that is generally presented through its characters' dialogues and rarely through its artistic values, then, by all means, check these two. As for my opinion, I think both are similar because the concept for its premise that the two utilize are pretty much the same. Both are about fighting, more fighting, as well as fighting; basically, endless amounts of fighting. If you like that kind of stuff, then I highly recommend this series to you. 

Group of humans believe they might be the last of humanity while fighting the mysterious Legion, an army of fully autonomous weapons. They must utilize their own Juggernaughts to fight this legion, all the while there are other issues like racism and dehumanization at play. Very angsty with quite a bit depressing story line and many sad deaths. 

Both series are set in fantasy worlds and show main characters fighting inhuman enemies (whether it be titans or mechs) with sci-fi weapons. They also both deal with fairly mature topics such as freedom or oppression. 

86 is similar to shingeki no kyojin in many ways -killing titans in snk while in 86 ,the legions or robots -a big supporting cast -sawano hiroyuki's ost -there's a wall like snk in 86 too but not seen too much -both are enjoyable

I feel they are similar in terms of having a feeling of hopelessness and a seemingly endless threat. The soundtracks are also both done by Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto.  

stories aren't that much similar but, both are very tragic in a way, its will keep excited till the end, and its one those anime that you would not be bored for a single moment 

86 feels a lot like early AoT. When a character goes into the battlefield, you're left guessing whether they'll be back ded or alive ¯_(ツ)_/¯ (also lots of interesting politics/worldbuilding)  

military-esque also just a really good anime if you want that same cute banter between characters + great music and sadge moments  

Both series deal with survival in a post-apocalyptic world but instead of being eaten by Titans, you are being butchered by robots. Both series don't shy away from killing away their characters and both series share an amazing soundtrack made by none other than Sawano himself.  

They're both gonna break your heart, and give you PTSD after watching them. Both of these shows are extremely good at exploring gory and deep topics that will tug at your heartstrings and make you grow attached to the characters just to watch them go through hell. If you liked AOT I am 99% certain you're gonna like 86 too, these two shows are very similar yet very different from one another at the same time.  

Humans in a military unit fighting against titans/legion. Both have great animation and soundtracks. Later AoT's themes become similar to 86's themes too. 

Shingeki no kyojin is a very goood anime itself , 86 is very simmilar to it because both anime have loads of action and both are thrillers , both of the story contain simillar war type theme too

Discrimination of a particular race, the matter of freedom, the similar military aspect and setting, and a complex world-building but in an obvious state, both stories are differently visionary in which the way's storytelling direction is leading towards, and characters got similar facets of saving humanity (e.g battle out for their lives to make their own sacrifice and become the survival of the fittest). AOT got titans, 86 got Legions but the groups are opposed to them as they're ones who are opposed to humanity. Plus both have the same soundtrack composer, Sawano Hiroyuki.  

An action theme packed show with a military genre, these two great shows centers around multiple fractions of war. Both shows are presented in a dark setting with hidden truths, and sadly, there are discriminatory scenes directed towards our "main heroes." As they fight with their lives on the line for peace, the storytelling of AOT and 86 is simply wonderful. 

If you watched Attack on Titan you know that there's no way of describing the plot without spoiling too much. Same goes for 86! It is a very emotional story about a group of people which fight against the horrifying enemy which took most of humanity with them! But it is not as it seems at first glance! (Plus Hiroyuki Sawano wrote the OST for both, so it really gets you in the Attack on Titan mood).

While the context may be different, you will find both the war and the "fight to survive" elements in them. 86 Eighty-Six is known for having a large cast of characters and a military setting, just like Attack on Titan does. At first glance, this series and 86 Eighty-Six have really very little in common, but they both feature large casts and deal with violent, mature themes that center around war and discrimination. 

Similarities - post-apocalyptic setting - death of characters - good animation - great music differences - plot is relatively less interesting (emphasizing the word relatively again) - mecha genre - relatively more conversation based - lesser episodes Note - just watch it...thank me later   

In my opinion, 86 is the heir to AoT legacy. As a AoT fan, I know one of my favourite work of fiction, if not my favourite, is coming closer and closer to its ending, that's why I felt the urge to find a show which could grab my attention as Isayama masterpiece did. 86 touches the themes of war, racism, loss, death, trauma and much more as AoT does, but in its own way, with colorful characters and one of the best main characters of 2020-2021, Shinei Nouzen. A-1 Pictures is known for some of the best anime of the last decade (Your lie in April, Anohana) and for some of the worst adaption (Seven deadly sins), so where does 86 stands? In my opinion, right at the top with the first two anime mentioned: 86 story is a gold mine and this beautiful adaptation turned it into a diamond mine, and believe me, the second season is even more outstanding than the first. So please guys, give a shot at 86 because I am 100% sure it deserves far more attention than it got, and please A-1, keep up the good work, and you 86 will become the classic it deserves to be.   

In both series, the theme of life inside the walls is shown, isolation from the outside world, where a deadly threat awaits behind these walls. In the case of SNK, it's the titans, and in 86 it's a legion. The fantasy world presented in both series is dystopian. Both series have surprising twists and secrets waiting to be discovered. An additional plus is that Hiroyuki Sawano is responsible for the music in both series. There are differences, and the most visible is that in the case of SNK we are dealing with a technological regress, the world presented inside the walls is more like the previous centuries. 86, where the main species is mecha. The future is shown, and the technology is at a high level.  

Both have the survival part where you have to give your all to achive your goal, and 86 just slaps 

Both tackle themes of racism and war. Though AOT handled the action much better, 86 is still a great anime to watch. One thing that's done better is that there is a subtle hints of romance. The backstories of the two mc's is phenomenal. 86 is my top new gen and in my top 10 anime oat (of all time). Hope you enjoy it! 

Living inside walled cities. Discrimination. Post apocalyptic 

Both are placed in a world where humanity is in danger and need to defend themselves from this dangerous enemy who can push them to the brink of extinction. 

Shingeki no Kyojin and Sidonia no Kishi shares a common theme of revolution/warfare between humanity and a species that threatens their very existence. There is the grim reality of death that is explicitly depicted throughout the series. The main characters' survival wits are tested to their limits. And despite their sharp contrast in settings, the violence conveys their world in which only those who fights for what they believe in will survive. Expect action, discovery, and development. 

Humans has since long ago chosen to live inside a defensive barrier in order to fend off attacks from mysterious, powerful creatures that frequently attack humans. Faced with the grim reality of survival, the main characters choose to become soldiers to fight for survival.  

A group of humans in seclusion who live in fear of a powerful race of monsters that they have managed to evade for a long time, who are suddenly forced back into combat with these creatures. 

Humans gettin' boned. The only way to kill them is with a certain way; blood and gore.  

Both anime focus on the survival of humanity but in different settings. These two anime's explore the idea of co-existence with other species and have similar underlying themes. 

A lot of deaths in both anime, everyone you love will die. Sidonia no Koshi and Shingeki no Kyojin are set in a dystopian world where mankind is constantly being threatened by a seemingly more powerful race of which little is known about. Both anime also revolve around the main fighting squad against those who are threatening mankind in their respective worlds. Also, a plus to the gore fans since both anime has a lot of blood and violence here and there. If you enjoy the suspense that will leave you at the edge of your chair while watching anime then this if for you. 

Both have the same plot where humans are in a brink of extinction against an enemy of giant proportion, except in one anime the people have to do some sort of spider-man stunts in order to fight the enemy while in the other anime the people there have the technological means to fend off the enemy.  

SnK and SnK? I am seriously now confused as to which is which due to my lack of intellect and apprehension to acronyms. Aside from my unimportant observation of the alphabets, both premise involves the struggle of humanity against a foe they couldn't understand, a feeling of a conspiracy at work that may or may not have any relevance to the origin, behavior and supposed animosity of such foe, and a discovery of potential in humanity that may or may not lead to the salvation of one or both clashing entities. 

Same base setting, The human race is on the brink of extinction by creatures they know close to nothing about. After a long time with peace the humans have to yet again battle these monsters. Similar in both there is lots of mystery around the creatures, where they came from, why they are attacking and what do they want, if they want anything. In both shows there's lots of good action scenes, plot twists you did not expect and really epic soundtrack in my opinion. Don't let the 3D-CGI animation stop you from watching it, give it a try. You will have to get used to it a bit either way. You could miss out on one good story.  

Attack on Titan is a shounen version of Sidonia no Kishi set on Earth instead of space and has titans instead of gauna. 

humanity's last stand kind of thing. both are not afraid to kill characters and do a good job of making it all seem very real and terrifying  

both anime talks about young people who trying to rescue the humanity from extinction . 

both have the feeling of 'battle shonen with a added dash of desperation and carnage' and both are focused on a 'last' bastion of humanity fighting against a monstrous enemy. Differences are mainly in the setting, Sidonia is sci-fi in space with mechs, Shingeki is more grounded, fantasy oriented.  

Both shows involve the last sliver of humanity's hope fighting improbably large enemies that want to eat them. Both protagonists are idealists that don't want to see any of their precious friends killed but see it happen anyways. And both shows offered a similar episode-by-episode cliffhanger-ing style.

Where humanity’s at the verge of extinction due to more dominant creatures. Shingeki No Kyojin has Titans, Sidonia No Kishi has Gauna. Titans and Gauna consume humans. Superb and catchy OSTs. Both have SNK acronyms :D Difference is that Sidonia takes place in space and more of mecha, and most specially the art. 

Sidonia no Kishi is essentially Shingeki no Kyojin meets Ender's Game. Humanity is in it's last stronghold (spaceship) fighting against giant monsters that threaten to wipe them out of existence. Monsters that may resemble humans themselves. The series is currently ongoing but I would highly recommend it. 

To be blunt, Knights of Sidonia = Attack on Titan in space (SPAAAAAACCEEEE). There are probably more similarities between SnK (Shingeki no Kyojin) and SnK (Sidonia no Kishi) than there are differences, one of which is the title (this will be confusing). Both are in an apocalyptic setting with humans fighting against a large flesh-coloured monster that reappeared after 100 years of peace. The monsters in AoT and KoS (better?) both have a weak spot which the humans exploit, and they both regenerate. Oh, and lots of people die. The differences with them, is the fact that KoS was made entirely with CGI (and 2D Cell Shading). For me, I really liked it because it kept the art style consistent. Also KoS delves a bit into the romance portions anime (but you cant feel for the characters when they die...at least I can't). In short, Both are great series. I personally liked KoS better mainly because there was not hype for me when I watched it (AoT is overhyped IMO).  

Both shows are about the humanity fighting against something like natural predators. In Shingeki no Kyojin, Humanity was fighting against Titans. in Sidonia no Kishi (Knights of Sidonia), Humanity will fight against Gaunas, some kind of giant aliens. Sidonia no Kishi happen's in the future, where humanity make use of giant robots that can fly and do cool stuff like that As duas séries são sobre a humanidade lutando contra algo como predadores naturais. Em Shingeki no Kyojin, a humanidade lutava contra titans. Em Sidonia no Kishi (Cavaleiros de Sidonia), a humanidade luta contra Gaunas, algo como Aliens Gigantes. Sidonia no Kishi acontece no futuro, onde a humanidade usa robôs gigantes que podem voar e fazer coisas maneiras do gênero.  

Both shows feature the last remnants of humanity in a fight against a powerful enemy whose goal seems to be the elimination of the human race.

Humanity is in similar situation in both of these shows although setting is different. There is mystery behind main antagonists in both shows. Both shows have many cliffhangers. Music and action are combined in both show to make them extremely exciting. 

Both are in a setting where humanity is in a verge of extinction, where they have to fight against an unknown monster/alien etc. Both main characters are set in a training school.  

- both deal with humanity on the brink of extinction in the last fortress of humanity - an unknown lifeform which can take on humanoid form is the cause of their near extinction and they're under constant threat from them - The MC has some secret ability within him that they're not aware of themselves - companions of the MC are brutally murdered throughout the series 

Attack on Titan is quite possibly one of the best action animes I have ever seen the sheer weight of humanitys situation in the show can be felt. Knights of Sidonia is almost identical in this regard, it has great action, great characters, plot twists and turns, ethical and moral dilemnas and so many good traits. Both shows have- -A main character who symbolizes the fight for humanity -A dystopian/apocalyptic future where humanity is terrorized by massive powerful creatures(Titans and the Gauna) -A setting where humanity is enclosed by walls and consists of the last remnants(The walls and the spaceship Sidonia) -Strong ethical and moral questioning of what is right and wrong -Amazing action scenes that make you want to jump out of your seat and start fighting yourself -A cast of characters that you become bonded to but could die at anytime and also will -Very good character development and interpersonal relationships -A kickass OST, both are orchestral in nature but Sidonia incorporates electronic music nicely If you watched Attack on Titan then Knights of Sidonia is a must trust me. Forenote(Animation style of Sidonia may be offputting at first due to its 3D nature but it settles down by episode 5, just stick through it, the story, characters and action are its selling points)  

A population of humans living within a defensive base for safety from the powerful enemy that lives beyond their walls. Both main characters are involved in assault squads that take the fight into the enemy territory. 

Note : This recommendation contains bad grammars. Both are action anime. Based on story line, both anime shows humans are trying to survive from fear of monster threat by making shelter to form a defense forces. And also there are many of main character's friends died during the war which makes him sad and fight back for revenge. 

Both shows have giant monsters hunting humans and the setting is post-apocalyptic. Attack on Titan is medieval while Sidonia no Kishi is set in Space. Both shows have "knights" and conflicting morals. Plus lots of blood and gore with no care for fodder! 

Very similar in content, but Shingeki is far more ambitious and original. Plus Shingeki has really unique, hyperdramatic art that is beautiful and high budget, while Sidonia has the patented Netflix, low frame-rate 3D style that is hard for me to get into.  

Knights of Sidonia is basically Attack on Titan in Space. Humanity's last chance trapped in a distressing situation. *check* MC who has a weird past and sports epic fighting abilities. *check* Supporting cast consisting of hardcore soldiers and incompetent friends. *check* Humans developing special gear to fight a enemy that threatens them with extinction. *check* IF you liked Attack on Titan or Knights of Sidonia, chances are that you'll like the other.  

Is basically Attack on Titan but set in space and made with CGI. 

Can't believe I didn't make this recommendation already. Eren and Thorfinn are so similar it's not even funny. Both series tackle some of the same concepts, especially Freedom in a Cruel World. Plus it's WIT Studio. 

Both MCs struggled with a cruel childhood leading to losing their parents. Also, MCs are very well written and give similar vibes. 

-Both main characters are infected with the burning desire for revenge -Both have have similar worlds from a technological standpoint -Both have a few main characters but manage to make the side characters feel just as important and relevant 

We follow a naïve but motivated protagonist that learns and changes as the series goes on in an unforgiving world. 

As other recommendations have said, these shows were made by the same studio and have too many similar qualities to count. I can almost guarantee that if you like one of these series, you will the other. Similarities include: - a revenge-motivated protagonist with unique natural ability for combat - similar protagonists as a whole. honestly - blurred moral lines - violence - similar art and combat scenes - unique setting. Vinland Saga is a rare historical anime surrounding what best is summarized as the Viking age, while Attack on Titan appears to be in a foreign alternative universe that shares some similarities to medieval England. 

Blood, blades and vengeance. A young boy lives a peaceful life, dreaming of adventure and glory. It finds him, ripping his world apart with visceral cruelty. Left with nothing but his hatred, he takes up a sword and vows to carve a path through the world that wronged him. 

-darker stories and worlds -same studio (Wit Studio) -both are somewhat grounded in history (German architecture and Nordic Vikings and combat) -have likable side characters -protagonists who want revenge 

Both of the series are similar because their genre is War and chaos. 

-They both have a young male protagonist who wants to avenge his dead parent -Both Eren (AOT protagonist) and Thorfinn (VS protagonist) do have anger issues -Also, you watch both of them growing up in the show and they both have amazing character development -They both realize that revenge is pointless -Both have to do with "slavery" -Both have lots of blood, cool fights, death, op characters and wars -Lastly, they will both give you depression

Vinland Saga (in addition to Owari no Seraph which has many recommendations that you should check out) is made by Wit Studio. - wit studio tends to animate lots of manga/lightnovels that have similar genres. -art style similar The protagonists of VS and SnK are both soooo annoying. -They each have something they want to kill: Eren=titans, cause they killed his mom Thorfinn= askella, because he (his followers) killed his dad. -Askellad and Levi are very similar. Cold asf, don't mind killing everything in their path, dark pasts, etc. -lots of killing 

They both have a similar setting and events similar to our real world. They both have amazing character writings especially for the main character.  

Perfectly matches each other for revenge. In Attack on titan, Eren Jaeger seeks revenge for his mothers death and the destruction of his home town done by the human eating giants known as "Titans" He sweared to kill every single Titan to bring the freedom of all the people inside the huge walls they used to live in for protecting themselves from Titans. Again, in Vinland Saga Thorfinn seeks revenge for his fathers death by killing Askellad,who killed him. In future both of them starts to know their own identities clearly and the past life of their people. 

These two anime series are actually from the same company! I feel like Vinland saga is underrated because of Shingeki. Don't get me wrong, Shingeki is amazing but I really liked Vinland as much as I did for Shingeki. They are both action animes with Vinland Saga being a historical anime about vikings. Both have very deep messages and.. oh gosh.. a lot of killing. Anyways, plz watch Vinland! (also, can't wait for season 2!)

A wonderful combination of good story line with outstanding action. It tells the journey of young boy who is thrown into difficult circumstances due to war. The best thing is the anime is loosely based on history. It is a highly underrated anime if you like dark action genre. If you've watch Attack On Titans , you simply cannot miss this.  

Both take place in medieval times. It has an amazing history, epic fights, incredible soundtrack, and they are also animated by the same studio. 

As popular as it is, Vinland Saga is still yet another underrated masterpiece. As far as the first season, Vinland Saga has had a beautifully accurate anime adaptation, leaving the viewer awestruck, dumbfounded, and at a loss of mere words all at the end of almost every episode. If you enjoy war, plot, foreshadowing, confusion, betrayal, and the creation of a potentially 'false' fantasy dreamland, Vinland Saga is a must watch. 

Both follow enraged protagonists who experience violence & chaos before undergoing major changes to their character. Both stories also have underlying anti-violence messages.

The main characters share some similarities. - They experience something traumatic that fuels their goals - They're both quite headstrong and driven - Both can appear annoyingly reckless at times They have the same animation studio as well, so if you like the artstyle you should definitely check out the other one. 

If you like the bloody complex and grounded politics and action of Attack On Titan, you will most likely love Vindland Saga 

both has same start the protagonist loses a family member and changes completely. the action,adventure and the world is well created just like attack on titan if you are fan of viking and fighting Vinland saga is for you. 

The same studio that animated snk, the main character is so cold and has a monstrous development throughout the anime. The protagonist is also an unparalleled genius, always one step ahead of the others 

- First of all, they both are Seinen anime series. - They are both animated by WIT Studio, in my opinion, this studio animated pretty well as it portrayed Vinland Saga and Attack on Titan/Shingeki no Kyojin, to be ancient themed. Modern technologies were not invented in their timelines, therefore they had to use full strength to fight against someone, not rely on robots or high tech meccha stuff or MHA superpowers. - Character development, Attack on titan has one of the best character developments, as well as Vinland Saga, if you really enjoy watching a character's growth that rises rapidly, then Vinland Saga/AOT is yours to enjoy for sure! - Both of these shows have really well written characters, you really ought to check them out. - It probably isn't the genre but i would consider these two anime to be reverse psychological, I really felt the hatred of the characters and their tenacity of seeking revenge upon a certain enemy.  

war, military and story writing and character design share similarities

For you revenge loving ppl but s2 of Vinland is very different 

Generational works of fine art which are complex yet simple, gruesome yet wholesome, dreadful.. and yet hopeful. The main goal of said shows is not to show you character X fighting character Y with some mixed spices, like what most shonens do, especially nowadays, but rather to enlighten you with a tale that's ribbed by many thought-provoking philosophical questions, and moral teachings. (Contains spoilers from here on) Eren is quite the opposite of Thorfinn, but they share the same end goal; to have a world that treats them like actual human beings, devoid of oppression, torture, killing. Terminologically, utopia. However, as it appears Eren is far from being faithful to that road, which is something to be presumed, given those who form their goals through their own unrealistic desires would likely end up in the abyss of their delusion. Hence, he ultimately ended up getting consumed by his own values and got dragged into the world of evil. He is morally corrupt and does his best to protect his people, even if it means wiping off the globe. That is the philosophy of his character, as opposed to our beloved Thorfinn. Realistically, utopia is a semi-impossible thing to achieve. Hence, one failed to achieve that; or rather, was destined to fail. This is the end message of AoT. Utopia is impossible. War wages from the tiniest of conflicts, and one war leads to another war. Every war ultimately results in deaths of thousands, if not millions of innocents. Hence hatred and grudges are generated, which will span for generations to come, leading to many other wars and many innocent lives being forcibly taken. One tiny conflict could create all of that. The other one is still trying to create that pacifist everlasting peaceful land, and we are yet to know if he has succeeded in that. That's why we got to follow his journey. Eren was born pure, became a monster. Thorfinn was born a monster, became pure.  

In an action-packed violent anime made by the same studio as the first 3 seasons of aot, Vinland saga has brilliant story, incredible animation, and a soundtrack fitting of a great show. With revenge, tons of deaths, etc. this is a great anime. The next season being animated by the studio that animated the fourth season of aot, it is sure to be brutal and great. 

Both are darker animes that focus on a group of people fighting for their survival. In Vinland Saga, it is against other Viking clans, and in Shingeki no Kyojin, it is against the Titans. There is also some sort of betrayal/mystery element in both plots as well. The art style for Vinland Saga, however, makes things appear brighter than they actually are while still having that dark undertone, which gives off a different feel compared to Shingeki no Kyojin's art style where everything appears dreary. 

-Action-packed -Gory -Amazing storyline -Classics/masterpieces -Killer opening sequences -Times where you want to yell at the main characters -Makes you think about some deeper stuff than you would expect going into it -You would not want to live in the world/anime, because you would not survive, haha. 

Both shows have similar and amazing graphics.. both are super intense and bloody..  

Both have that aspect of living in a desolate world, focusing on survival 

The setting for both is a medieval world where humans/half humans have to fight against stronger creatures. I think both anime were well executed. Both are also violent. 

it has the same dramatic feeling, also both stories are dragging you in a word afar from normal point of view about life. 

It's hard to explain without spoiling both series, but there is just something about the two that feels similar. The rather bleak tone, monsters that normal people have no hope of defeating who eat people for fun, a mysterious organization controlling things behind the scenes.... But more importantly, both series pass the Bechdel Test. Claymore is known for it's strong female characters, and Shingeki no Kyojin is just the same. 

I am almost instantly reminded of Claymore when watching Shingeki. Both anime have many similarities in terms of plot, character, fighting style, and the overall theme of survival of the fittest as well as revenge story. If i have to choose who is the better main character Clair or Eren, i'd pick Clair hands down. Giants in Shingeki, and Yoma in Claymore are pretty much the same. They are monsters that are impossible for normal humans to take down, they also treat human as food, and there is much mystery surrounding how their creation. Clair and Eren are made of the same mold; their important person was killed by the monsters and they seek revenge through a journey to gain more strength. I would say the similarities between these 2 anime is almost 90% overlap. If you watch one anime, you can even predict whats gonna happen in the other one. In terms of music and animation style, I would say Claymore is a bit darker and more traumatizing because the animation color is less bright and the aim is toward a darker tone. For Shingeki the animation is bright hopeful even through scenes of torn guts and limbs falling all over the place. All in all, I would say if you find yourself liking Shingeki give Claymore a try and vise versa.  

I recommend this show due to the central themes. Both are about humanity struggling against overwhelming odds against monsters. Both have organizations and solutions to deal with the problem. Also both main characters seem to share the trait for vengeance. 

It has the same premise of a group of organised warriors fighting against some overwhelming monstrosity. The setting (medieval Europe) is also the same. Like Shingeki, Claymore is also a serious, action oriented, fighting anime. Both have the same level of violence. However, we get a sense that there is a greater story/conspiracy underneath Shingeki. But at least for the Claymore anime, (due to constraints) what you see is what you get and the story is relatively simpler.  

Claymore is very similar in atmosphere, storytelling, and battles. Both anime are similar and would be the same sub-genre. I am an expert on anime like Claymore and this is definitely similar. I think Clayomore, Berserk, Shingeki no Kyojin, and Hokuto no Ken are very similar and should be considered inseperable. If you like one you will definitely like the other.  

More than just dark fantasy, both series features the brutal reality in which in the world the characters resides in has monsters that threatens their very existence. In technical terms, Claymore and Shingeki no Kyojin both features monsters that exists for the purpose to kill and puts mankind in jeopardy. To combat the threat, there exists warriors who are trained specialists to take on these monstrosity. Some of these warriors have witnessed blood spilled and death themselves. However, they do their jobs and are one of Mankind's last hopes against the monsters that terrorize their world. Both series' main female character are dominant, strong, and have tragic pasts. However, they have a close relationship with one of the main male characters. Both series' setting represents a medieval like world where there is no modern technology as we know of today. What both series does have though is violence, gore, and emotional scars that are left behind from the monsters that bought humanity anger, fear, and hatred.   

They are both humans and crossbreads fighting vs much stronger creatures. Both animes seem to have lots of blood and the art work almost resembles eachother in a way. 

Both Attack on Titan and Claymore are about humanities struggle vs a foreign race of monsters that are nearly impossible to kill. Titans in Shingeki and Yuma in Claymore. What happens to humanity when they're no longer on the top of the food chain? 

Animes with the same thematic domain where there is a race and the only way is to face them. Shingeki Kyojin in Claymore and show exactly that. 

Seriously even from the first episode I realized how similar - but still different- those animes are. They both have this "medieval" atmphosphere, creatures that attack people and certain "teams" that are responsible for dealing with/fighting them. While Shingeki has Titans, Yomas take their place in Claymore. The characters are strong in both animes and gaining more and more power and will is also another similar point beetween the two shows. 

Both settings seem to be in the Middle Ages. Both plots have man eating monsters, and focus on the soldiers (claymores) that kill them. 

Similar medieval feeling. Both have man eating monsters, that must be destroyed. Both involve organizations, that are about killing those monsters and also have their soldiers' ranking system. 

Both settings are in the Middle Age where humans are hopeless to beat superior creatures (Titans in Shingeki, Yoma in Claymore) that treat them as food, so they are depending on organizations to deal with the problem. Both anime are tragic and dramatic. As for main characters, both are seeking vengeance. And one last similarity, both are easily spoiled. If you enjoyed one, you will definitely enjoy the other. 

Both animes are about humanity fighting against a superior race. 

Both have scary monsters that like to eat people and those that have suffered by their hands and are determined to kill these monsters. 

- Both have similar art - Both have a dark story Claymore and Shingeki no Kyojin are based about monsters being overpowering and humans trying to survive Claymore is a dark story but both have action Main character are useless until the climax 

Humanity constantly fears Yoma(demons) who like titans, devour people. Both animes have the same atmosphere, set in a medieval, dark, hauntingly eerie age. Both have their fair share of gore and action. The main protagonists even look similar. 

In both series humanity are cornered by another species and the characters are fighting to survive, and to discover better ways to fight against the threat that this creatures represent for humanity. Although the history and character background in Shingeki is bigger (mostly because they explain the circumstances of many characters), Claymore also has good story background, and characters that have been through many hardships and take their decisions having their past experience in mind. 

Both Claymore and AOT are very similar for one both are set in the medieval times, where humans are fighting against man eating monsters. Both animes have alot of fun kickass action scenes and both also have really badass female characters. 

Both have humans fighting against monsters in a fight for survival. Both are quite violent and make use of swords in combat. 

I gotta say yo', this series really did remind me of Claymore. Both series share a very similar dark vibe by: -Having lots of violence and fighting. Claymore has blood... everywhere. People get their body parts chopped off too. -Having scary monsters that threaten humanity. Shengeki no Kyojin has the titans, while Claymore has the youma. Youma are humanoid creatures that consume human flesh and take the appearance of the people they eat. Claymores, female warriors created by a group called 'The Organization', are tasked with dispatching these wretched creatures. BUT keep in mind that Claymore is not entirely focused on how the Youma threaten humanity. Instead, it focuses more on character development and the shitty tasks Claymores are forced to handle instead. -Having a plot about revenge. Eren joins the freakin' Recon Corps to get revenge on the Titans. In Claymore, there is stuff about settling personal grudges against some beasts. I don't want to spoil it for anyone though so I won't elaborate on it too much. -Having lots of suffering. We all know that Shingeki no Kyojin has a lot of drama and suffering, but so does Claymore! The Claymores (female warriors) created by The Organization have sacrificed their humanity in order to obtain the strength to fight the youma; orphaned girls are embedded with the flesh of a youma in order to become half-human, half-youma. This causes a bunch of problems. Not only do these Claymores lack love and compassion in their life, but they also face the possibility of turning into MONSTERS themselves if they use too much of their powers. -Having intriguing arcs and twists. Both series have plot twists and awesome arcs. Viewers will almost always root for the protagonists in these series. _________- If you are looking for another dark anime to cure your post-anime depression, the anime Claymore will be stimulating enough to keep your depression at bay.   

In both series we have group of warriors who fights against monsters for humanity (Middle Ages). They have a lot of blood, death, great fighting styles, sad moments.. The main characters are weak on start but they are becoming stronger during the series. Graphic is and animations are amazing in both series. 

Pseudo medeval setting, man eating monsters, gore, grim atmosphere and a constant struggle for survival. Also the main character has a montrous site that he/she tries to bring under control. And the soundtrack is pretty damn sweet. 

The overall mood and theme is very similar. Both shows feature teams who are assigned with the task of eliminating mysterious creatures who eat humans. If you like Attack on Titan, you should enjoy Claymore as well.  

Both are similiar on the team work, sacrifice for a better future, tragic moment, epic battle, awesome plot, animation and OST. The pace and the world are very similiar too, you could say that SNK is Claymore with Titan over Yomas. 

Has similar sense of jeopardy, however Claymore is much better. Supernatural powers + damage if used too extensively. Emotionally damaged main characters without real families, devoted to each other but not society or anyone else. 

They are somehow different and yet so much alike,let me be clear both have a main character living for taking revenge on the one that killed they're mothers (even if Teresa is not Clare's mother biologically,it is still a mother figure),are weak but become more and more strong in a world threatened by creatures that most of the humanity stands no change against,learn different secrets about themselves etc. 

Same world dominated by monsters, with experts to defeat them. Dark background, you discover how the world and organizations are messed up because at the begining everything is deeply hidden. Not so powerful main characters, although they have unique abilities. The known world isn't the world. Some main differences Claymore/SnK : - few side characters / lots - deeper understanding of few characters / huge changes of most characters mindset along the seasons - dark / bloody - fantasy / technology 

The setting for both stories are essentially dystopian, where people are recruited into the military and trained to defend humanity with whatever weapons they developed to fight against the supernatural creatures. The male lead is impulsive in both storyline and there's a squad that's the star, or strongest, squad in the military who always manage to top their mission, and the male lead gets involved with them. 

Both take place in an apocalyptic setting. Both have a mostly stereotypical main character who's reckless and wants to eradicate the race threatening humans (Aragami for this, titans for SnK). Both have a "last" civilization in walls, though God Eater is much more modern than Attack on Titan in technology and structure of civilization (God Eater was created before SnK). Both have a special force (Survey Corps/ Military and God Eaters respectively) trying to get rid of threatening race. Both have done research on said threat. Both have a particular squad that is said to be better than the others and the strongest in charge of said squad (Levi and Lindow).   

I feel like a lot of Shingeki no kyojin fans missing out on God Eater, let me tell you why: - Both have the same settings - After apocalypse. - The drive of the main character is the same, killing all the creatures that made the apocalypse. - Both have amazing OST with great and noticeable insert songs. - Both are focused on soldiers of the military. I really believe that peoples who love Shingeki no kyojin will enjoy God Eater, Of course, the other way around works as well.  

Both stories takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where humankind have been wiped out by strong monsters and a resistance situated in a refuge fight against them to save the mankind of their extinction. To fight them, the humans uses to power of the monsters (Titan shifting in the case of SnK and God Arcs in the case of GE) to fight against them. 

these 2 are so painfully similar i don't even want to say why... but alas it wouldn't be much of a recommendation without that. let's see, MC have the same mindset, setting is exactly the same (1 has monsters, 1 has titans), both MCs meet awesome 1st squad, God eater has a bit more industrial look for the city while SnK goes with a bit more medieval look. in any case, in terms of story they're pretty much the same. MCs seem pretty alike. because of those 2 point these animes give pretty much the same feeling while watching them thus also a similar enjoyment.  

Apocalyptic setting where they're the one relied onto saving the world. Both MC have the goal of saving the world and when something happens, they don't care about permission and instead rush into to save the people to rescue them. Monsters threatens humans by killing them and death is not something rare here, very mature series with alot of hype! 

God Eater has a very familiar 'ambiance' to it. This is most likely caused by the post-apocalyptic setting where a chosen army of humans has to fight against physically superior beings to defend human territory. While Shingeki no Kyojin has a much stronger story, God Eater is definitely worth a try. Especially since we'll have to wait for the second season of Shingeki no Kyojin! 

Similar in main character goal ... both main character have one goal, 'Wiping out that creatures and kill them one by one'. Similar to Eren, Lenka is "the special kid that learn how to kill the creatures in they world and want to vanish them out". Other character in both series are similar too .. Also in both series have a special organization that was formed with the intent to destroy the monsters that threaten human existence (humans living behind the wall that protect them from the monsters) and some special weapon (in God Eater it called God Arcs, in SnK / AoT it called 3D Manuver) for hunting the creatures.. Both are violence show, with cool action inside, and have militaries inside ..  

Both anime have a big wall with monsters outside. Both MC are stubborn. Great animation and great fights. The worlds are set in a post-apocalyptic situation.

Both are set in a dystopian world, where humanity is nearing extinction, where a select few are chosen to protect everyone. Both main protagonists are slightly cocky in the way the kill the enemy, though God Eaters protagonist is more analytical and smarter about his methods. God Eater has a very unique art style, but with a very good soundtrack, similar to Shingeki no Kyojin. 

The fact that the main character has an obsession with killing monsters and some scenes are like shingeki no Kyojin also some of the soundtracks are quite alike. 

Both focus on a militia-type group that are destined to save and protect humanity. They share the aspect that there is a type of creature attacking humanity and the humans remain trapped inside an enclosed (walled) metropolis.  

Both are about giant monsters that have nearly pushed humanity to extinction and mankind's battle to take back what was stolen from them. Both of the main characters (Eren from Attack on Titan and Lenka from God Eater) are passionate to a fault and may be humanities greatest hope. 

Humans caging themselves within walls as a means of survival; beastly, terrifying monsters as mankind's enemy; a determined soul striving to kill them all...even a new kind of warrior? Similarly to Shingeki no Kyojin, God Eater focuses on a protagonist, known as Renka Utsugi, who begins his journey as a small fry with one goal set in mind: to destroy the enemies of mankind, Aragami. However just like Eren, many challenges await Renka on this life-risking journey. Will he be able to overcome them; or will Renak die trying? Watch and find out! 

God Eater and Attack on Titan have similar things. In God eater a Monsters are eating and killing humans, in Attack on Titan a Titan is eating and killing humans. They both even have WALLS! And the Monsters/Titans BREAK THEM!!! You even need to use WEAPONS to kill them. 

Both of these animes are very similar. The main characters of each of these animes (Eren and Lenka) both have a drive to kill off the creatures taking over their world. Within Attack on Titan, Eren fights the giant man like titans, while in God Eater, Lenka must fight the Aragami. They both have similar character types, and both animes have unique art styles that are captivating. 

Very similar premise. Similar setting.

- Both are apocalyptic anime in which the people live inside large walls and fighters go outside the walls to protect the population. - In both the leads family dies while being under something which could not be moved so they got eaten. - In both the lead has special powers that are unlike most others and becomes the hope for the citizens 

The humankind is going to be extermineted. Trained people will need to fight against super monsters using awesome weapons to protect their planet. Which of them will survive? 

A city surrounded by wall is living in a constant fear of man eating creatures, however a organization has been established to protect humans from these creatures and kill them for good [The male main character is reckless and wields deep desire to obliterate these creatures and female main character is strong and mysterious and has a dark past] work for the organization Although attack on titan was better, god eater is also good in its on way 

'Destroy all evil and make the world a better place', that is what the main characters want to accomplish. The medieval setting from Shingeki no Kyojin changed to a more futuristic/apocalyptic setting in God Eater, but the sword is still (one of) the mightiest weapons to defeat the enemy. Awesome weapons/gear, epic fight scenes, mystery and betrayel are the most prominent aspects of both series. 

On the surface it may seem that these two shows are very different from each, but if you look closely, you will find many uncanny similarities between the two. For example, we have a black haired and green eyed MC, who is a hot head that constantly shouts at the top of his lungs, disrespects authority and has made it his life's mission to kill the non-human entities that have brought humanity to the bring of extinction. Oh, and him witnessing his parent's death is what triggers this blood lust in him. Much like in SNK, humanity lives inside a wall in the God Eater world, where humanity has been on the brink of extinction for long, thanks to creatures the humans have very little knowledge of. Then you have the black haired and powerful female who saves our MC's ass time and again, and a blond dude who is in-charge of the entire battalion. Soldiers from both the anime wear ridiculously inconvenient clothing during their missions, which include long boots and green capes swishing majestically in the wind. And ofc, since this division has the best of the best, the main characters never die, despite being in life threatening situations time and again.   

They are both set in a post-apocalyptic world and they both give of the sense of loss and horror as a character could die at any time. They also have Bad-ass characters which make the viewing experience that much better.  

They share similar story plots, only different era settings.  

Exactly same in base story, in both people stuck in surrounded castles from dangerous creatures . 

-Similar concepts (Humans driven into walls by seemingly unstoppable creatures) -Strong-willed protagonists -Government secrets -Reliable captains!! 

The basic outline of these stories are both incredibly similar. First off they are about creatures that have brought humanity to the brink of extinction and eat humans but not necessarily to survive. The majority of humanity also live in the safety of a large wall. The protagonists also have similar backgrounds as they're family were both killed by the respective monsters (Aragami for God Eater and Titans for AoT), which causes them to want revenge by killing them all. 

Both series revolve around Humanity trying to fight powerful enemies they don't quite understand, and young people are forced to take up the fight. Tragic events are common occurrences. giant humanoids are used to fight. Shingeki likely was heavily inspired by Evangelion. 

The humanity is trying to survive an attack of almighty titans, after episode 8 there are more similarities... 

Mankind is in the brink of elimination as mysterious creatures suddenly come from unknown origins to end their existence. The only hope for man is in the hands of a young boy who has the ability to control a power equal to these mysterious creatures. This power is not easily controlled however as the boy at times allows this ability to go berserk as he encounters emotionally driven situations. Epic battles occur as the boy controls this power to combat these enormous titans amongst a ruined city. The question is, am I describing Shingeki no Kyojin or Evangelion? However, as in my case, if you absolutely love one, you most definitely will love the other. While watching, my mouth was usually down in utter shock throughout each episode with both of these works of art.  

Both are similar with a very dark tone and focus on the human condition. Attack on titan focus more on existentialism and ethics. It also is action heavy; the visuals alone make it a good watch. Whereas Evangelion focuses on mental illness and transhumanism. Evangelion tends to be lighter on action and violence. However it covers much more mature content and isn't far more disturbing. 

Humanity unites against monstrosities. Shingeki feels like Medieval Evangelion sometimes. Evangelion has more depression, Shingeki has more despair.  

Both deal with earth being under attack by monsters (titans and angels), both have young people who are tasked with protecting it, the main characters both have difficult relationships with their fathers. 

Some unknown origin creatures invaded humanity, both are constantly fighting a losing battle while human trying to survive. 

Both series deal with ambiguous creatures that threaten all of humanity, a young protagonist with a connection to said creatures, and have a more of a realistic take on their respective genres. 

Humanity is in despair and they are fighting with the very things they want to kill. 

Humanity fights back against giant mononstrosities that threaten to wipe out the human race. Both are exciting anime with plenty of action in addition to beautiful visuals, but each has a different setting and focus. AoT is a dark fantasy with a greater focus on mystery and world-building, while Evangelion is more of a psychological thriller that uses its modern day sci-fi/mech setting as the backdrop. 

I would go far as to say the Shingeki no Kyojin does have it far share of similarites to Neon Genesis Evangelion. Behind all the window dressing, the to show are quite similar if you think about. Both stories take place in a post post apocalyptic world meaning the apocalyspe had already has prior to the series start and that the world is slowing rebuilding from said apocalypse and have devise ways against their oppression since. Humanity is own falling legs in spite of oppressive and enigmatic enemy. In Neon Genesis Evangelion the oppressive force is the Angels. In Attack on Titan its the titular Titans. The main character learns he is the only able to pilot a giant robot. In Neon Genesis Evangelion, Shinji pilots the Eva Unit 01. In Attack on Titan, Eren is able to turn into the Rogue Titan. The Rogue Titan is even introduced very similar to Eva Unit 01 in almost every way. It even goes berserk several times in the story. Both weapon on the key to turning the tides of the war in their favor. The two show also have very similar atmosphere being both dark and brooding. In both series, mankind is in fear of its enemy knowing little to nothing about them. The enemy is numerous and only get stronger after each encounter. In both series, the character are severely flawed and are by no means ideal. In both series, the humanity's enemy is not whom they are fighting against but it is themselves. I say if you like one you are bound to find to something to like in the other.

Attack on titan focuses on fighting with superior (Titans) beings and retaking the walls. Neon Genesis focuses by defending their city by superior (Angels) beings from causing 3rd Impatct (end of the world), while neon genesis does character development very well with everyone being depressed, Attack on Titans tries to by brining male tears. 

SNK and NGE may have a very different fanbases, but when it comes down to it, there are many things that are similar about these two series. SNK and NGE are series that both revolve around a young both trying to save his city/town/world from giant monsters. Even though the devices used to destroy these monsters are different (three dimensional maneuver devices in SNK, giant human-operated machines in NGE) There are also three teenage characters who are pressured to do a lot of risky work in order to save their city/town/world. Although the I believe that that Shinji, Misato, and Rei and better written characters with more complexity and depth to their stories, both series feature strong leads that are (at least in my opinion) the stand out quality of these series and are part of what makes them unique.   

The three main characters in each show are very similar. Both main characters have fathers who abandoned them at a young age, and their mother also died when they were young. Both have a group of "monsters" (Titans and Angels) that humans have to fight against in order to survive as a species. Both of these shows are also very dark and psychological.  

Both are set in a post-apocalyptic world with enemy's that are far superior in strength to our protagonists with a teenage boy as the lead protagonist. Both anime have strong sets of female characters in it's cast, and the main protagonist's father in both anime shows no interest in their son's lives. 

Both of these shows have similar setup where humanity is in danger because of strong enemy that's trying to push humans to extinction. There is mystery behind those attacks. Action in both shows is exciting and well executed. 

SnK and Evangelion, two series mainstream and almost cult, where they possess these similarities: - Postapocalyptic world dominated by a superior species (Titans in SnK and Angeles in EVA), that caused the destruction of humans. - A group specializes in defending humans from these monsters. - The protagonist is entrusted with a power similar to that of the angels and is almost forced / manipulated to participate in this mortal battle, where he will be the only one able to turn the situation. Where he spent the whole series questioning himself and how everything works around him. In addition they lost their mother and their father is very distant to him, which is responsible for their ability. - Humanity lives locked in a place built for its own protection. - There is a secret kept by they most powerful of the city, about the origin of these monsters.  

-Teenagers are given the responsibility of defending humanity -Both have a superior life form attacking humanity (Angels, Titans) -Similar main characters (Asuka = Eren, Rei = Mikasa, Shinji = Armin) 

Both survival assumptions, But this show does not focus on the psychological of its characters and the characters have super powers.  

Both serries happens in the end of humanity, both have characters with similar aspects and both have fights which the mc against giant "monsters" 

While I'm not a fan of Shingeki no Kyojin (and Neon Genesis Evangelion is obviously my favorite anime) these two have some in common. They both have a cowardly main character, they both are about defending humanity from something, etc. 

Both series follow young people who are recruited into a military organization dedicated to fighting colossal beings that threaten humanity. Connections between humans and these enemies are explored as well as the enormous losses incurred while fighting them. 

Thematics are similar. Catasthrophic worlds, with a twisted inside story, and a lot of misteries to solve. The protagonist are a bit similar in their personalities. I don't know what much else to say. It's great, okay?

In a world where humans will resort to absolutely any means in order to secure at the very least survival, we are met with stories around young kids who join their first line of defence in the human race in order to pull through this devastating cataclysm. AOT and Eva not only show the realism behind the fight humans are struggling against, but it also has some pretty deep lore (mostly AOT) and sincere characters with reasoning as to why they are where they are in the first place (mostly Eva). I suppose going into the one you haven't seen yet would pick up narratively on what was missed out in the story you had watched. Would recommend both for good action, amazing animation and OST. Generally, well-acclaimed classics are loved by the masses. No reason not to.   

Both series have complex, well-developed characters in a post-apocalyptic world, where creatures of a different, superior species desire to wipe out mankind. Under the guise of "one dimensional action-packed anime", they tackle deep underlying issues of humanity, each in different ways. Also, (spoiler?) at the end of the animes, it is shown that humans are actually behind the orchestration of their undoing.

Both anime share a dark setting where humanity was nearly faced with total extinction and now has to fight against superhuman creatures. Even though Shingeki no Kyojin is more "modern" in its cast of characters, the two main protagonists are similar... aside of their looks and psychological disposition, Eren has his fair share of "Shinji, get in that EVA!"-moments. 

Evangelion will change your life. 

Take Shingeki and replace the Titans with mecha - you will have Aldnoah.Zero. The chasing scenes are exactly the same. The soundtrack is very similar. And of course the fodder. Humanity was living in peace, when suddenly Martians attacked. Now humans are forced to fight to survive in a seemingly unwinnable war. 

Mankind is on the brink of destruction from an outside force , Attack on Titan the ones who do the destruction are of course the titans and in Aldnoah Zero are martians . The OST is similar from what I could hear / see . 

It has a similar feel, with the "undefeatable" enemy and the struggle for human survival. The soundtrack is also similar. Above all, they are both epic and intense, leaving you anxious for the next episode :) 

They have a same type character (both are really determined characters) One has titans and other has giant robots which are stronger than humans Their ost using are really similar. Powerful songs are coming at the most live scenes SnK is in 300's. Aldnoah.Zero is like its in 2300's. It likes they have adapted snk for a more futuristic plot.  

Similar soundtrack, dystopian society, losing the war against a mysterious power, similar epic battle scenes and both will give you an epic feeling when watching them.

I find this anime similar in some ways, but not in the fundamental aspects. First of all, the musical composers are the same - Hiroyuki Sawano is probably my favourite musical composer, every single one of his work has given me great 'chills'. These chills are apparent in both Aldnoah.Zero and Attack On Titan. So if you want to feel the same chills that were delivered here, go for Attack On Titan. I also love how whenever something tragic or epic happens his OSTs start to play, much similar to what happens in Attack On Titan. In Attack On Titan it's a war between the almost invincible Titans (human-like giants) and the humans, who are almost powerless - this is similar to how the humans of Earth, who are not as powerful, are fighting against the humans of Mars, who are powerful. All in all, I really felt the link between these two great anime here.  

This show starts off a little more slowly compared to Attack on Titan but as it progresses, the pace of the story starts to kick in and it really reels you in and that's how it is similar to Attack on Titan. The soundtrack is pretty similar as well - fighting scenes, lots of death and twists and turn - humanity fighting against one another - pretty similar to AoT if you ask me. Both are fast paced, interesting and keeps you on the edge of your seat!
