The show, that predates Pokemon, was a glimpse into the world of juvenile anime with a focus on the natural world around us.
For a kids show of the mid 90's, it not only had a layered and deep characters but also had riveting arcs to keep you hooked. The opening song pumped you for what was to come and the ending left you wanting for more. The art style was also not bad, but note the bias of my review might simply arise from the nostalgia of revisiting one of the first anime of my life.
Do give this show a shot with a grain ...
