Background

Luger Code 1951 began as a story idea that Haruto Haneki submitted for the Shounen Jump+ × Animax Anime Scenario Award contest (少年ジャンプ+×アニマックス アニメシナリオ大賞). The theme of the contest was "your original scenario in the image of Shounen Jump." The contest accepted unpublished entries that could be made into a short anime, 30 to 40 minutes in estimated length. Haneki's scenario won the Grand Prize, winning him 2 million yen, a manga adaptation on Shounen Jump+, and an anime adaptation. Akira Akatsuki, who was one of the judges in the competition, drew the manga.

The anime premiered on the Shonen Jump+ website on October 14 at 12:00 a.m. (effectively October 15 at midnight). The anime also ran on the Hikari TV service on October 15 at 8:00 p.m. and on the Animax channel on October 22 at 8:00 p.m. A making-of video aired alongside the anime as a special.

I wounder if some of you were fooled too. I thought this was going to a full length show when I put it on my to watch list, but that was my fault for not recognizing it was just an ona. I'm still glad I watched though. The story is simple (I can't add more than the summary without spoiling it) and many things aren't explained, but it was really enjoyable. Like every other time when you have military people, you have that one group of idiots, but the main two characters were actually pretty fun guys. The only other ...

THIS STORY IS PURE MILITARY AND VERY ENJOYABLE ,I WAS ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE A FULL 12 EP ANIME BUT THEN FOUND OUT THE HARSH TRUTH .

This anime is worth it

I am writing this review to support that someday someone would write a full story in a manga or a novel more than just a short story ...

Mixed Feelings
I honestly expected this to be a full length series, but evidently, it's just an ONA. Which makes me wonder why the overall quality of the animation and art is so sub par. And then I remembered it's Studio Deen.

The story is based on a 3 chapter manga and shouldn't be expected to provide too many answers. The world building was sub par, leaving me with a rather vague idea of what's going on in the world. There's an opinion that the story is supposed to be about military, but I really didn't feel that that was the main focus of the story. The main ...
