Haikyu!! Season 3

I like this anime not only because of the characters, but because Haikyu is one of the more realistic sports anime. At least that's what I thought before this season came out. Now we're almost caught up with the bizarre level of "Kuroko no Basket". In this world, there are now players you can barely beat even 7vs1 and they all look like some misplaced shounen antagonists.

To be honest, the result of this season surprised me a lot, because I expected a different result. But this was also the best moment of this season.

On average, there wasn't much more tension. The first ... round was quite transparent, the second one not a bit better. The third round was skipped and the tension started to build only at the end of the fourth set.

Shiratorizawa was a strong but inflexible team in terms of team play. And they also lacked character. You could feel what a great opponent they were for the protagonists, but beyond that, there was nothing.

The biggest and strongest point of Haikyu remains - that the opponents and the protagonists deserved the victory equally. Both teams give their best, both exceed their limit and you can see in the eyes and motivations of both teams how much they want to win. I love this aspect of the anime.

Holy shit I wrote the first three sentences before I fell asleep. I swear Haikyuu is a curse. ANyway...

Yes, I actually binged this season in 2 days. No, I don't like Haikyuu any more than I did during the first two seasons, despite the fact I actually didn't fall asleep a single time. Thanks to the format of this season, or maybe my sleep schedule is finally fixed (doubtful).

This season of Haikyuu happens to be the highest ranked on MAL. Logical, after all, the only thing that happens is the match between Karasuno and SHiratori Zawa, the biggest guys ... of the anime, or at least until next season where we'll be introduced to bigger guys again, that's how it goes with sports anime.

THe more I'm diving into these reviews showing unashamed praise on Haikyuu, the more I realize something, this anime is like catching a ball someone throws at you. You either succeed and feel elated at the achievement, or you fail, and get washed over by a wave of disappointment. I don't believe you can hate Haikyuu, it's like hating water, there's nothing to hate in water. THe whole purpose of this review is to spit my hatred at flavored water drinkers. YOu don't like water do you? You want your vital hydration to taste good right? Fucking pussy.

Back on track before the mods delete this review. The ball in that metaphor is "Do you care about any of the characters in Haikyuu?" IF you do, it'll probably be amazing, but I don't, those flashbacks were just obnoxious, everyone is written like the most stereotypical sports shounen character and their motivations are just as dull. While some characters get by on their personality alone, I still don't really care about their damn flashbacks.

Why does Haikyuu have so many flashbaclks? Don't answer, I know why. Anyway, the match was fine. The only thing that was even remotely surprising was the change in rules, though it explains why the match lasted 10 episodes despite some very minimal build up to try and stir some engagement in this snorefest. I just find it amusing when my younger brother talked to me about some epic action that I apparently already watched and couldn't care less about.

Anyway, not much change, I still don't care about anyone in this anime and I'll still watch season 4. You guys have a nice rest of your day.
