The biggest similarity between No Game No Life and Kakegurui is the game aspect. In No Game No Life, you have to play a game to settle any argument. You don't have to play a game to settle everything in Kakegurui, however the characters choose to do it any way.  

When it comes to games with high stakes, NGNL is easily the most popular one among recent shows. Also, both of these shows feature games with ridiculous setups.  

The same plot where it involves games , gambling, ecchi and high stakes, except of course in the setting and players were different, cu'z in NGNL it involves a brother and sister duo, while in Kakegurui it only involves one hot girl. 

getting inside the characters' head to find out their strategy to win a game, always intriguing and possibly twisted 

both animes use games as a way to gain a higher position and respect in the hierarchy. In my opinion, both animes are very enjoyable with characters who have a depth to them. I recommend both animes! x  

In both anime everything is done through games and gambling and game conditions are also on extreme level (In some cases life and death). 

They are similar in gambling in an insane level and the game is the life for the main characters in each one.

For anyone who likes an anime that involves gambling.

Both include some sort of gambling. Both have godly HIGH IQ mc. Both have an off voice explaining whats happening. In both the gambling is the most important thing in the f* world. In both being good at games mean everything. 

The MCs both like to win. The games must have consequences in order to play. No mercy while playing the games. 

These two animes talk about gambling with high stakes involved. 

these anime have ONE thing truly in common with each other, that is the theme of gambling. The use of games to declare the victor of an argument or all out stakes resulting in tremendous outcomes for the parties is what really links these anime together. Also the characters share quite some traits like Yumeko and Sora are really both risk takers, both going into a bet as if they know they're bout to win

Both focus on an OP main character playing games, sometimes skill-based and sometimes luck-based, and finding fancy ways to win while putting all their lives on the line.

Mind games and ecchi. The MCs are pretty likeable in both series, i liked the way they enjoy the game itself while everyone is worried about the stakes. 

If you enjoy the "I outsmarted your outsmarting" trope in game-type animes, both of these is perfect for you. While No Game No Life is leaned more towards the fantasy / isekai genre, Kakegurui is somewhat more realistic, in a sense that its events are more likely to happen in real life. Both anime explore how people cheat in order to win and how the protagonists outsmart these opponents. Albeit being "new" to the environment they are presented into, they ace everyone else and quickly rise to the top of their respective hierarchy. 

If you saw both, you'll notice that there's one similarity: overpower. - The two shows involves badass characters - Both of the main protagonists spend almost their whole time playing and betting with another people. - The concept of gambling can be applied to both. - The only difference is No Game no Life is like an isekai, and Kakegurui is more designed to be intriguing and horrifying. - And also the animation is noticeably different. If someone will ask me which I prefer, I'll stay on the side of No Game no Life, even if the two shows are great. 

Both are extremely good animes but I think kakegurui is better than no game no life. Both are similar in their ways of how games rule everything. Everything must be settled through games.  

World centered around competing in games 

Both have gaming as the central premise and characters decide their fates by dueling in a game. Both also have fanservice and some lewd jokes/themes.  

There is also gambling in "No Game No Life" and definitely some inappropriate humor.  

Wanna bet your life and everything on gambling? These animes are one of the best psychological and thriller of all time. The plot twists are incredible. Your brain gets tired after watching these. No Game is only 12 episodes long with unfortunately no sequel and Kakegurui has 2 seasons each with 12 episodes so both can be watched in a day or two.  

For those who liked the way the games are taken to another level, you should enjoy this one too. 

Both game related and MC are Crazy! Big Gambles (Life or Death) -"Isekai" or High school setting is better? -Normal crazy or Craziness!  

In this recommendation, it's a bit tough to be called "Similar", yet some aspects seem quite interesting. Here are the similarities: 1. Both series serve us gambling-scenes with life or death choices. 2. The main character has or always plays with his/her partners. (Yumeko with Suzui or Mary. Sora with Shiro) 3. Both of the series don't really give us the 'Romantic' moment, but instead (please keep underline) 'Semi-Lewd' scenes. 4. *Additional aspect* If you watch carefully in both series. You'll find out the fact that Suzui and Yumeko are just like Sora and Shiro but in different universes. ***Happy Watching from SBK*** 

If you ever imagined how Kaiji would look like if the main character was big tiddy girl who gambles not to save herself from life-endangering situations, but rather to put herself into them because it's fun, then look no further. 

-both are betting anime -Kaiji is about deadly bets to entertain society's elite while Kakegurui is about bets at a betting school. -the only difference is that Kaiji has no women betting so the bets are more insane. For example, bet your fingers and even walk on an iron bar at the top of an unsecured building. 

Both animes are based on high stakes gambling with strategy and cheats. Kaiji has a slower pacing, more complex games and settings and nearly all characters on it are males. On the other hand in Kakegurui most characters are females. 

Both stories revolve around gambling and have psychological focus. So far Kakegurui is looking like a more mainstream version of Kaiji with a faster pace (probably), less depth on individual games (probably), a more mainstream artstyle, a high school setting, and wayyyyyyy more females. 

Both anime revolve around the theme of gambling - and the gambles come at very high and risky stakes. Furthermore, the gambles are placed over several different types of gambling games in both series. Kakegurui tends to be more fast paced which makes it enjoyable and entertaining, yet Kaiji still manages to keep the thrilling feeling throughout the episodes - making it no less enjoyable. In terms of mc, the series do differ. In Kakegurui, the mc (Jabami) is a genius and pretty girl, whereas Kaiji (from Kaiji (duh)) is a junkie loser. However, both characters are gambling addicts, and get fired up in the game. 

Both animes enter a world of big bets whose objective is to see who wins depending on the conditions, one is to apply the strategies they use to win, or in the riskiest cases need luck. 

These two anime have a lot in common in of itself that is based on psychology and mind games. Plus the fact both revolve around high stakes gambling with a lot of back and fourth. In fact the only two differences is i can see is. Kaiji comes from debt while Jabami comes from Riches and one is female the other is male. I also felt like the first episode of Kakegurui was a bit of a tribute to Kaiji as well with the card game on the first episode. 

Both have gambling in their main theme. It's just that Kaiji exterminates that genre better. (Opinion) If you have time check it out! 

Ok so this anime is basically like Kaiji, but with ecchi, and thats a good thing ;^) 

Only two episodes of Kakegurui have been released but there are some obvious similarities between the two shows. And I am actually stoked about the fact there there is another anime about gambling! In both anime's it seems like outsmarting people in the games they play and how they do it is really important. It seems Kakegurui's pace is a lot faster, since its one game per episode atleaased for now. If I had to explain Kakegurui it would probably be the story of GBK merged with the style and pase of death parada.

They are both about gambling and a lot of people being in debt to other people. 

Kaiji is a more intense and gritty version of Kakegurui with more realistic stakes and consequences. Kaiji is also much more grounded than Kakegurui as well. 

Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji is basically a hardcore version of Kakegurui, just without pretty anime girls and way more intense focus on the gambling itself. Both have a similar style interms of expressing the emotions from the characters. If you were already intrigued from the gambling matches in Kakegurui, you will definitely be fascinated from Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji (Don't let it turn you off from the character art style).  

Both of these anime talks about gambling, risk and madness. I prefer to say that Kakegurui it's good for everyone who's enjoy watching mad girls gambling their money, social status or other (a good shōnen). Meanwhile, Kaiji Ultimate Survivor, is a masterpiece for everyone who's enjoy watching a deep seinen anime where humans risk their entire fortune for rising up from some debits. 

Extremely high stakes gambling, but the main character is more serious, and competent. The first episode feels like it could be a tribute to Kaiji, very similar, but Kaiji is for a more mature audience. 

Both anime based around gambling so If you like anime that involves gambling then you are in for a treat. Obviously Kaiji is way better but kakegurui is good too. 

Kakegurui is quite similar to Kaiji but the catch is that it has big titty goth lesbians who are into some weird kinky shit. My point being Kaiji has big ass noses while Kakegurui has badonkers. Kakegurui 1:0 Kaiji. Point proven. 

Gambling may be the only similarity between these two shows. Kaiji the Ultimate Survivor has now become my one of the best gambling anime i have ever watched. This show is superior in every part of Kakegurui. Me saying that doesn't mean Kakegurui is bad or anything but if you loved Kakegurui you should try Kaiji and believe me you will enjoy every part of it. Watching Kaiji I have never felt soo much tension, excitement and fear. It is the anime to watch. 

Both of them is about gambling and I think if you enjoyed Kakegurui then you might enjoy Kaiji. 

They both talk about gambling. The difference is that kakegurui sucks and uses gambling only to showcase the cute/psychotic anime girls while kaiji uses gambling to tell a compelling story about a man and his struggle to live peacefully. 

both of them are amazing gambling anime. 

If gambling is your thing, then look no further. Both are insane, but in completely different ways. Kakegurui goes for a lighthearted, comedic approach whereas Kaiji is far more serious and thrilling. In my opinion, Kaiji encapsulates the essence of gambling infinitely better, because it knows how to build tension unlike Kakegurui. Despite that, Kakegurui is still worth watching solely for the amount of entertainment it provides.

Similar setting and style. Just that the main themes (gambling vs cooking) are different. 

Shokugeki has practically the same concept but instead of gambling they cook, you would get exaggerated reactions from everybody, and also similar art style.  

Main character transfers into an particular school, where social status is determined by something unusual. Gambling for Kakegurui, cooking for Shokugeki no Souma. 

The obvious comparison is the fact that there is an orgasm almost every episode over something people normally don't have orgasms to. one more thing that's similar are the mind games, not sure if i'm remembering right but most of the time you never hear what Souma or Yumeko are thinking, instead it's the tag along (Tadokoro & Suzui) that have a game going through their head and going into a panic over what is gonna happen and how Souma/Yumeko is gonna win this. you also see the thoughts going through their over confident opponent and how they go into total madness when they realize that they will be absolutely BTFO'd.  

Think of Kakegurui as a discount Food Wars with no plot and more battles. Also, most of Kakegurui's cast are psychopaths. If you want more Shokungekis, try out Kakegurui 

Honestly it's almost weird how much this 2 are similar, A School where basicaly only 1 thing matters (Cooking/Gambling) where a Newcommer starts to challenge everyone and make waves on the school, there's also the Council of Students that are the best and most powerful and basically dominate the school  

Similar sort of style, its just instead of gambling it is cooking  

Both have consequences if you lose the match. The matches are intense and entertaining to watch. The MCs are identical because they want to test their knowledge. 

These two were identical in some ways: - Main character climbs the rank by challenging those on the top and both mc seems op/creative in their own way. - FOODGASM AND GAMBLEGASM  

Share the same setup, the transfer student challenging the school in a over the top themed battle. It is enjoyable to watch the though process and revelations that ocurs in each duel. Both MCs are likeable as well. And one more thing they have in common is the fan service. I feel is not out of place is this kind of shows, if it didn´t bother in one series it shouldn´t bother in the other. 

Food Wars has a lot in common with Kakegurui. Yumeko and Soma both acquire pleasure from their vices and are trying to release as much pleasure from them as possible. There is also the explanation that comes after every gamble and every food. Also isn’t the Student Council insanely overpowered just like the Elite 10? 

They are very similar. Food wars is kakegurui but with food instead of gambling. Also, both of the main characters are very good at what they do. 

Kakegurui and Shokugeki no Souma have a lot in common. Both have schools going by strict rules and getting seriously their main goal. Both have a council that is created by the strongest students. And both have charismatic characters and exciting plots. The main difference is that Shokugeki no Souma is about cooking, and Kakegurui is about gambling. 

Has a school hierarchy that everyone has to play up to or suffer the consequences. Differences being; - Kakegurui is revolved around gambling - Classroom of the Elite revolves around having good grades to increase a person's finances and social standing. Both have rather more serious themes for their story lines. 

-Unusual school, social rankings, madness and all kind of psychological characteristics -A cool mc who manipulates his classmates and opponents playing mind games for his/her selfish desires -Money plays a big part in these shows. The more money they have, the more popular the character is. So they try everything in their power to make them

Both protagonists will surprise you with what that they will show you in the anime, one with crazy acts while the other stays calm in most situations.  

Both shows have incredibly genius and op protagonists Both shows revolve around in a school where you much use your brain to outsmart your opponents Both shows have inequality as a major theme, where certain students are shown to be more superior than others  

Both are quite psychological anime. Both have main characters, who at the beginning of a conflict appears to be losing but towards the end pulls a stunt and changes the game to their advantage. Both have extremely intelligent main characters who wins go about overcoming the conflict at there own pace and using proper strategy. Both have a school setting, which has a hierarchy, in Kakegurui its how skilled you are in gambling. And last but not least, the uniforms are very similar. one of the differences that may stick out is, Classroom of the Elite has a lot of slice-of-life aspects to it, while in Kakegurui its almost conflict after conflict moving the story forward at all times. i hope you enjoy the anime like i did.   

They are both based in schools and the main characters are both really smart. They are both also those kinds of mystery animes which show the results of what they did first then go back and show how they did it later. 

both have elite school vibes with hierarchial society kakegurui focuses more on the individuals, and CotE focuses more on the class 

Both the main character have a mystery appeal to them. Alone and always planning/ having something up their sleeves.  

Both include smart mc's and have social (Or gambling) games. Both are ok animes neither is a fave of mine. But if you liked one you will like the other. 

Both animes take place at a school with an inequal, disturbing hierarchy. Both main characters are 'masterminds' that are given all opportunities to win and who are too good for everyone, but are still on rock-bottom. Both protagonists are surrounded by other people who are just like them; intelligent and they have the ability to manipulate. This creates an interesting competition. Both animes have a similar structure; both are filled with strategic games that determine who will be seen as a king in their hierarchy. It's thrilling and has a good diversity. And most importantly; they both have banging fanservice. 

These two anime's have protagonists with higher intellectual capabilities than their peers, it focuses on how they handle their odd school life and how they go about attempting to rise in their school hierarchy  

Death Parade deals with games, debts and risks. Like Kakegurui, it deals with the not-so-pleasing aspects of human nature through a series of games. lol its bomb ok

Both anime are focused on gaming competition. 

-Both have a similar theme in terms of color palette and music. Both are jazzy and have a lot of darker colors with some bright colors. -Both are about games. -Both have great soundtracks and animation. 

How "Death Parade" is similar to "Kakegurui": -Both about playing unique games that touch upon Human morality, rules, and imperfections -Games have high stakes -Ellicits strong emotional responses from the viewer -Visually pleasing. Great use of color and lighting in order to set the mood -Main female protagonist are aesthetically similar, with long black hair and a mysterious past -Both can somewhat be treated as standalone episodes. -There are surprising twists that keep the show exciting How "Death Parade is different from "Kakegurui": -The former has quirky but mild-tempered characters, while the latter has more eclectic and dark characters -The former is more relaxed with a slower pacing, while the latter has faster pacing. -The former has set power-dynamics, while the latter has a more complex heirarchy system that can constantly change -The former puts emphasis into sentimental emotions and uncovering truth, while the latter puts emphasis into the descent into madness and trickery.  

Simulair art style, animation and music. Also if you had to write a really short summary of both anime's it would be simulair: 'People are betting there lifes on games.' 

Both explore the depths of madness in the human mind but in different ways.  

Similar animation style Both involve gambling and the results of the game affect the life of the players. They have the same unique way of portraying the emotions of the characters in a very exaggerated manner  

Games, where people put their lives on the line, can show true nature of them. Craziness, thrill, love, betrayal and unique characters  

If you want to watch a game, high stakes, pay with your life, and lovable characters, this anime is match for you. Also no confusing plot there, which make you feel more enjoy to watch it. 

Twisted games that have no limit with complex characters. Death Parade debates what is right while Kakegurui fills itself with the worst we can be. Both are really fun and emotional to binge-watch, surely a ride you don't want to miss! 

Both have a very similar dark yet colorful style and the topic of games and gambling is very present in both.  

Both shows have extremely intense drama and adult themes (jail for Prison School and gambling for Kakegurui) in a high school setting. Character all have a hidden nasty streak inside to make for quite an intimidating setting at school. 

Kakegurui has the same art style and the same ecchi outlook as Prison School. When you lose a game in Kakegurui, you become a housepet and are treated very similarily if you were stuck inside the Prison School. The sado-masochism part of Kakegurui is too much alike Prison School. Very good anime, so if you liked Prison School, give Kakegurui a shot. 

The art, pace of the show and fan service level is very similar. Kakegurui is not so explicit, but it is visually otherwise very like Prison School. Scenery and storytelling have something in common, as well. 

Both anime feels like it was made to fulfill author's fetishes, however someone made a mistake and put on TV instead of private collection that no one should look at. 

'Prison School' is similar to 'Kakegurui' when it comes to the story setting, which is a high school ground filled with elites. Both anime enlighten that the students there are more concerned about gambling, manipulate, peeping girls on compromising situations, badly injuring others, treating others like slaves, do ecchi etc., rather than living a rather peaceful school year. Both contain character's with sadomasochism and masochistic tendencies. 

Both have similar style of animation and are both set in a high school with very strict set of rules

Same art style, cinematography and both have that "Master & Slaves" thing. Although Prison School is ecchi and comedy while Kakegurui is psychological and mystery. 

School settings with the lives of students at stake, where the issues of reputation in ‘Prison School’ and debt in ‘Kakegurui' create drama through prestige hierarchies and enigmatic, background plotting. Ecchi humour/perversion is established to showcase humour and character desire. ‘Prison School’ is far more explicit whereas ‘Kakegurui’ is most explicit with this when detailing psychotic or near-orgasmic pleasure/thrill. Overt or covert references to dominatrix and femdom are portrayed with the Student Councils, where there are more powerful and authoritative female characters than male characters (who tend to be more submissive out of fear or pleasure). The more realistically-designed animation styles make the moments of exaggerated facial expressions stand out for intended comedic or dramatic purposes.  

Games are the central element to the story. In particular gambling. Students are present in the 2 anime. Life or death consequences for Kakegurui, debt build-up for Tomodachi.  

If you're into high-stake psychological warefare, you'll like these :) 

Both revolve around games where people gamble with high sums of money and exploit the psychological aspect as well a game's mechanics. Kakegurui might not ruin friendships, but definitely a person's life.  

Both involve risk taking, blood, and have a smart/crazy protagonist. Overall creepy themed

Both feature the same pattern of "I outsmarted your outsmarting". Viewer discretion is advised. This is not a lighthearted anime. 

similar visual style at times, like glowing eyes and moments of maniacal joy. both are about playing a game with high stakes, when losing is major, but so is the winning. 

Not exactly similar in terms of plot, but both have twisted main characters, and a very dark overall feel to the anime. There is a common obsessive desire between Light (Death Note), and Yumeko (Kakegurui), and that is to maintain power and dominance over everyone else. 

Both series feature highly intelligent people trying to outwit each other. However, while Death Note is the story of a duel between Light and L, in Kakegurui there's a different opponent every episode.  

Not exactly the same, but both have psycho main characters, they both have glowing eyes when they are excited or happy in a psychotic way, both light and Yumeko have an obsession with dominance and possessing people with their power. 

Both are psychological and filled with suspense. Kakegurui might not be as good a death note but the vibes are pretty much similar. You would enjoy it,👍 

Both animes have a genius badass protagonists which manipulates/toys with the other characters to achieve victory. Although One Outs is about baseball both revolve around gambling, cheating and using strategies. 

Basically both have a genius main character, who has to manipulate his oponents to win the game. They also involve mind games and gambling with large amounts of money. 

Gambling large sums of money, Main character is a brilliant genius, Overly exaggerated reactions, Corruption, That one character who asks the MC questions to help the audience understand what is going on.  

Both about gambling anime

The same crazy plot where people gamble with their lives and freedom, where there is a high price for the loser.  

Both are shounen/seinen anime where the battle system has to do with mind games. Kakegurui is about gambling and they play mind games by deceiving their opponents and cheating. Kagyua-sama is about to people playing mind games on each other and trying to get the other person to confess to them. So put simply they're shounen/seinen shows about mind games. 

Do you like gambling? What a coincidence. Yumeko Jabami is as smart as Kaguya and even more badass than her. It was very thrilling. If you haven't watched it yet, I'd recommend it. 

I think that the overall feel of these two is very compatible. The setting for both animes is a school for rich kids. While Yumeko's eyes don't glow red at all times, both female leads kind of have black hair and red eyes. They are also both prideful and confident. The animes share inner monologue as an important part of their storytelling. While Yumeko is trying to climb the ranks through gambling, Kaguya starts out esteemed by her peers already. There is a lot of mindgames in both, the difference being that instead of figuring out how to win in gambling and whether or not the opponent is cheating, both Kaguya and the male lead are calculating how to behave in order to appear disinterested in each other when interacting.  

Whoever loves , suspense, mindtricks and gambling with life at stake, will like the chills in these both animes 

These two anime are both about gambling. Kakegurui is a liitle more unrealistic and with kaiji you can feel the tension build up. Kaji is a little slow paced but that doesn't mean it's bad. so if you like gambling I recommend these two anime 

Kaiji is similar to Kakegurui in the sense that gambling is a central theme throughout both of the shows. While both shows take gambling to an extreme, I found Kaiji to be a much more realistic (and tragic) show, at least in terms of characters and overall situation. There is also much less fanservice in Kaiji, so you don't have to worry about who walks in the room when watching this show. 

Both animes are very similar as they both have a twisted feel to them and they are both based in a school. The animes also appear to have a very similar art style with great characters in both! x  

Both feature characters in school settings and placed in high risk scenarios where they must survive or get fucked over in a pretty ironic poetic justice kind of way. 

The art of deception, skill, and craze. There are no forces that come quite close in such attributes as Great Pretender and Kakegurui. In a world where taking risks, and making tricks and shills are common, Great Pretender and Kakegurui take their world of chances and explode them into the most fun you didn't think was quite possible. Great Pretender is a little more global and excessive in its trip on taking on the entire world in comparison to the gambling club known as Hyakkaou Private Academy  

The Great Pretender is an all round great anime, it's an easy watch with only 14 episodes out on Netflix and even more coming January 2021. The art style is unique and one of my personal favourites, both the OP and the ED are amazing and it has a very similar feel to kakegurui.  

the issue of having certain drama in the games is the same in both and they also make use of "protagonist who plays games but he is infinitely smarter than all the other players" and even then they lose the times. 

both are high risk play or lose stories as well as focusing on a ya cast and also losers get punished really badly in both stories. 

The plot is similar. The main character is extremely good in a game he/she just get presented. Behind him/her us always a person dumb enough to study what the main character is doing. The main difference is that in Kakegurui the mc lose at times, but in Akagi it does not 

Kakegurui is funny as a gambling anime, but if you want something darker and more realistic, Akagi is what you're looking for. The protagonist is still overpowered, but what you're looking for is watching interesting gambles with a lot of psychology involved. 

Fucked up school with overpowered student council, and the main character fights the student council members one by one until she finally faces the student council president. 

A female protagonist comes to a new and over the top school where she has to beat lots of students and in the end, confronting the student council. It's also mindless fun, but this time there's an objective, a decent amount of time for fleshing out and developing the characters, and a solid ending 

D'Arby episode but a full season - exaggerated faces and intense moments for things that wouldn't seem as intense in real life but it definitely is 

Both shows are completely over the top and the epitome of "edgy". They are completely focused on the characters (which are the weakest part of both shows). 

Now many of many of you reading this would think *How on earth are Youjo senki and Kakegurui similar?!* Well let me tell you one thing. Youjo senki is an anime about middle aged man reincarnated as a loli and war. While Kakegurui is about a girl who likes to gamble in school pretty much. Now how are those two totally different shows similar? Main character are both just crazy! the psychological element in both is pretty good and trust me. Many people who liked kakegurui also liked youjo senki and vice versa. give it a try and see how it goes

The characters are similar and it also has a very chaotic storyline. There is more violence in "Satsuriki no Tenshi" aka angels of death so if you are not comfortable with violence I would recommend that you find another anime to watch. Has some humor that gives relief.  

Both anime feature a school for high stakes games where challenger students provide game rules to determine victory.  

At first they don't seem similar at all- Kakegurui centers heavely on it's lore and Asobi Asobase is more of ''little episodes that sometimes have lore in them but not necessarily'' But what both have is a weird sense of humor and how they weirdly portray and draw their characters (if you have seen Kakegurui you'll totally know what I mean)...But Asobi Asobase is less....you know, its just weirder in general.
