Tokyo Ghoul except everything that was good is bad.

As a fan of the first two seasons I can't see this season as anything other than a massive failure and disappointment.

Story-5
Very tiny spoiler: Haise is Kaneki. Wow this show is boring. I'm not sure that a single interesting thing has happened in 12 episodes. Basically it's just 12 episodes of Haise and his new buddies fighting ghouls. Not a single fight is cool, interesting, or well animated, and not a single character is as good as a character from season one.

One thing I found so great about the original is that the man-eating ghouls who ...

Tokyo Kushu Re is bad excuse for a sequel. The story starts off as a complete mess, directly jumping into action without any build-up and focusing around characters that have not even been introduced. Somehow the series assumes that it doens't have to put any efford into explaining any of these new things because it's part of already existing franchise. This makes it very hard to actually care about anything that is happening.

Soon after, it becomes clear that our main character has gone thru some trauma and now suffers from amnesia. Great, isn't this just perfectly cliche writing and also a way to turn all the ...

This show is a hot mess. It is confusing due to its poor execution of plot; the animation becomes lazy and sloppy after episode 3; the soundtrack was disappointing and did not live up to the high expectations set up by the priors series and what was well developed characters were turned into archetypal and flat characters. After watching this train wreck I didn't even feel anger, as if at that point I was numb to the disappointment. All I could say was "Well that sucked". A few day later I have decide to write a review, because I'm just so bitter.

Don't watch this anime.

Whether or not you've read the manga, you'll be extremely disappointed by this mess of an adaptation. As someone who's been with :re from chapter one, I'm actually appalled by how horrible this anime is.

The story, although enjoyable in this part of the anime, is extremely rushed. I've heard a lot of complaints about the pacing, and at first I excused it, thinking they'd fix it by episode two, since the first episode tends to have weird pacing. But no, we're at episode five now and nothing has changed. Nothing is fleshed out, the interactions are rushed, and because of this, the ...

Compared to the prequels, be it the anime or the manga, this is nothing alike. The story just doesn't keep me entertained anymore, the action is mediocre and everything is just messed up. I tried to continue watching the series, but everything that made TG special was broken in TG:re. There is NO consistency and no intelligence. I feel like a foolish child watching this, not because I am one, but because the anime makes me feel so. The art and sound is average, but everything that makes the anime enjoyable is not there. That's all, I had to drop it.

(Seriously, Citrus was a MUCH better anime than whatever this is)

So.....Tokyo Ghoul:re actually has gotten an anime series.....well.......that was a thing.....right anyways....I've been a fan of Tokyo Ghoul ever since I started reading the manga back in high school in 2015 and ever since then I was hooked by its characters, story, world and neat little lore and everything and it pretty much became my 2nd favorite manga series of all time (All time favorite being Berserk, of course) and so when I saw the previous 2 Seasons of the anime I was beyond ...

You're probably wondering whether or not I'm being serious about such a low score. Long story short, yes this show is really that bad. Frankly, at times I couldn't believe my eyes while watching this. I hope that after reading this review you'll see just how bad this show is yourself.

STORY

Now, at that point most reviewers would recap the plot of the show, albeit in very broad terms to avoid spoilers and such. But here's the problem: this show has no plot. None. A thing happens, the characters respond to it, then they fight it out. Rinse and repeat. This has been a formula ...

The show pretends that it is going to be something fresh, then yanks the rug from under you. More of the same, but less enjoyable. It brings back old characters who maybe play a larger role later, but at the beginning seem to be there because they already existed in the first 2 seasons.
Certain elements are very apparent immediately from the start, making me care less about the main character. Speaking of caring less, I care even less about the tensions between humans and ghouls since most of the main cast is some form of in-between, which just displays to the viewer that the tensions ...

I cannot believe this, it is worse than the second season. Yeah, they somehow managed to do the unthinkable.

Story-2/10
Half the episodes are over and I am yet to find something resembling a story. It is just a series of disjointed events.

Art-3/10
It just keeps getting worse with time.

Sound-4/10
Opening is skippable and the osts are not that special. Ending completely ruins the mood of the anime.

I have no idea what is going on in this anime. I didn't read the manga. I watched the first two anime seasons and enjoyed them (gave them both a score of 8). But, re: makes no sense to me. I cannot follow the plot whatsoever. I cannot assess the characters, their relationships, their power levels and the reasoning behind such power levels, the hierarchy at CCG and how the many characters attained such positions, etc. It's UTTERLY confusing. I feel no emotional attachment with any of them. I don't even get a sense of Ken Kaneki from Haise. I understand that he has some ...

--There is no Tokyo Ghoul:re spoilers below--

What the hell was this season. Ok so first off how can an anime which was goated in the first two seasons go from being goated to being absolute trash? Like when i was watching it i was always waiting for the episodes to be over and hoping that whenever i finished an episode, the next one would be better. But no, this season was just not it. It sucked in so many ways that i cannot describe. Tokyo Ghoul:re season 1 and season 2 were definitely absolute trash. I don't even know anyone who acually likes TG:re. It ...

I had no idea who green lit this anime but they should have atleast tried to fixed root a before jumping into re. I haven't read the manga but I get the gist why "season 2" was a hot garbage. And to be honest even without reading the manga there are a lot of things I can see that the studio who animated this have skipped.

The story 2: So kaneki just jumps from one group to the other? At first he denied being a half ghoul but quickly jumps into anteiku... ok fair enough because they treat him well and taught him how ghouls fit ...

Short review, the anime is pretty boring, the manga isn't bad but comparing the anime to the manga is such a big insult, 80% of the time, people are just having conversations and when there is a battle, it lasted shorter than Jake Paul on the bed. with no character back story, I don't see how you can understand the anime without reading the manga.

Sure if you've watched S1 and S2, you should "probably" just watch the third season( or you could just read the manga ;)

If you're about to start watching the Tokyo ghoul series, you should read the manga first.

after all, it's called ...

I am absolutely appalled at how much they have ruined this series.

The manga is fantastic and so much more better than this trash. I'm quite angry and disappointed at a lot of things for the anime adaption.

First off the animation is very lazy. Everything seems so bland and tasteless that it becomes boring to look at. Which is sad considering Tokyo ghoul's art is one of the best things about the series. Another problem I have is HOW MUCH STILLFRAMES THERE ARE!!! It's like they didn't even bother to animate but just draw a scene and leave it for a minute.

The pacing and ...

Preliminary (12/12 eps)
After 24 episodes of following Kaneki's story line, they completely dropped it and focused on something else. This is not a sequel, and I don't recommend it. They also chenged the art, which I found was ok.

The sounds were a lot better than the other two, considering its newer. Not such a good anime, and I found it pretty boring for a tokyo ghoul "sequel". Story line is pretty basic, but not complex and too hard to understand.

They at least included Kaneki in some parts, but made him look like a bad guy, just like when Rize was trying to take over Kaneki in the ...

WARNING! POSSIBLE SPOILERS IN THE REVIEW!
I will try my best to avoid any spoilers, but they are unavoidable at some parts. If you dont want to be spoiled with anything, please GO WATCH THE SHOW FIRST!

This review is solely based on the anime, i didnt read the manga, and im not planning to do anytime soon. So.. where do i start? Oh boy, it's hard indeed. Why? Because this show is just a big mess. First episode throws an audience into an ocean of confusion, not even trying to explain a single bit of what's actually happening, and why it's happening. I did ...

I have been reading the Tokyo ghoul:re manga since the beginning and, so far, I really enjoyed it, mostly because of the Tsukiyama Arc. Subsequently, my excitement with the adaptation announcement was expected, but, when the time came, the anime gave me a single impression: pathetic.
The disappointment began when the PV's were released, and here is where I start.

ART: 1
My eyes are still hurting from this stupid animation, it is exacly like those fan animations and I'm not even joking (I don't mean to offend anyone who does fan animations, it is only that I expected more than a beginner's work from a big studio). ...

Tokyo Ghoul:re is the sequel to the original Tokyo Ghoul manga and the anime fails on many fronts to capture what makes the manga great.

Story- 3
The story introduces us to Quinx Squad, a group of half human/ half ghouls who work for the CCG to hunt down criminal ghouls.

Having a squad of characters as the typical "main focus" is a nice change from the original series that had Kaneki as our MC. The problem here is that the squad never really gets any time for themselves to feel fleshed out. The source material here is rushed as it is made by none other ...

Tokyo Ghoul:re is what I expected but definitely not what I wanted.
A poorly adapted anime.

After Studio Pierrot decided to take the story into their own hands with the previous season Root A, fans were already disappointed. Tokyo Ghoul:re just adds to that disappointment.

Story : 5/10

TG:re occurs after a time skip of two years after the events of the raid on Anteiku. It features the investigator's side of the story, hoping to stress on the fact that there are losses on both sides of the war between the Ghouls and Humans. Unfortunately, the anime just doesn't add enough depth or assertion to the story. With a ...

Man, I haven't written one of these in a while but allow me to just get back into the swing of things in order to vent my frustration on this absolutely disgusting insult of an anime. Remember: This is only regarding the anime. The manga has nothing to do with this and I trust that it had a good follow-up to boot.

So, why am I frustrated? Well, simples. It's because this anime is literally UNWATCHABLE if you have not read the manga. There are just so many plot points that have been skipped over since the last available prequel, Tokyo Ghoul Season 1. (Yes, Root ...
