In both anime there are: * Brutal worlds where characters have to kill to stay alive. * Revenge for the lost ones. * Beautiful visuals (same studio). So if you like the elements mentioned you should definitely check them out.

Looking for more angst-ridden protagonists that are out for revenge? Excellent, because these are two of the best. Both are about characters that have had something taken from them, and are out to get them back (Dororo) or get revenge (Both). Great action scenes, beautiful worlds, and enjoyable characters to follow. In both of these series, you often end up rooting for the side characters just as much if not more than the main characters. This is nothing against the main characters, but rather an applause of actual development of the supporting cast.

Both shows that are very serious, gritty and down to earth and based on somewhat classic manga series. Berserk in particular was a huge trend setter and has had a major influence on the 'dark fantasy' genre.

both are historical and has one purpose, in vinland saga the protagonist father killed by a viking on the other hand 91days his father killed by the mafia

Stories about revenge, as after a loss of parental figure the protagonist trains under the villain in order to be able to exact revenge on said villain, becoming extraordinarily physically strong in the process.

While Golden Kamuy is much more comedic (Vinland Saga has basically no comedy at all) they are both great adventure tales about burly men in the snow. If that sounds appealing to you, then either show will probably feel right at home on your completed list. They both have fantastic and interesting characters, and both feature lots of moments where you aren't quite sure who you should be cheering for. I found myself rooting for both the protagonists and antagonists in both series.

- Both focus on tragic cruelty of war - Both has the same serious/dark tone through out the whole story - Both the narrative is as good - Both focus on character development. - Both has good pay off moments - Both has a very human characters - Both leave cliff hangers at the end of each episode.

These are two medieval war stories about politics, heritage, and beliefs. They have believable and distinct characters, most of which go through lots of character development throughout the story. They also both, unfortunately, do not yet have animated endings, as the source material is not finished. However, the journeys that are here are meaningful and enjoyable. Lots of well animated battles that feel impactful, as well as plenty of slice of life moments for contemplation.

If you're looking for another action packed historical seinen with war and bloodshed revolving around royalty for the sake of land, power or ect, then look no further. Both of these series have likeable and distinguishable characters that stand out out from the rest for us to get attached to. Each have their own type of "OP" or stronger characters that clearly stand out from the rest of foot soldiers and make each of the battles so enjoyable to watch, vikings in the case of Vinland saga or war generals for Kingdom. So if you want to see some strong muscle boys duking it out

Both anime's main point is showing the growth of characters, similiar to Vinland Saga. Both Rudeus and Thorfinn shows big character developments in the series, both mentally and physically.

I enjoyed both of these series significantly. While Vinland Saga has countless differences from Demon Slayer, including genre (historical), violence level (far more violent than Demon Slayer), and protagonist personalities, one will likely enjoy both as: - both are shonen (to my knowledge) - both protagonists are talented in combat - both are motivated by their family relationships in the main plot. In Demon Slayer, the protagonist is motivated to save/work with his sister despite her inhuman nature, and Vinland Saga was born out of the protagonist's desire for revenge for his father. - There are quite a few combat scenes in both. - Both are newer shows, so they

A child soldier has no choice but to join a group of mercenaries led by someone involved in the death of their parent(s). Despite the grudge the protagonist ends up travelling with their very mortal enemies. For Jormungand it's gun dealers and for Vinland Saga it's Vikings.

-Both feature a group of rogues as main characters who don't shy away from hacking and slashing their way to victory -Both deal with the corruption and toppling of an empire -Both have the main character adapt to the atmosphere around them, and we see them stripped of their childlike innocence from the first few episodes

The setting is European and the story is totally grounded to reality with no fantasy elements just like Vinland Saga. A 10/10 classic anime that is a must-watch for every anime fan.

Both Thorfinn and Casval serve the murderers of their fathers, making a name for themselves as skilled merciless warriors on the battlefield in the hopes of an opportunity to take revenge upon their own leaders. Thorfinn lived humbly with under a caring father Thors, a Jomsviking war hero. We see his childhood as having fun, enjoying a naïve conception of fighting and war. They are forced to leave their life of peace and this impacts Thorfinn the most. Eventually, he joins Askeladd's band of Vikings to fight the Saxons, yet retaining his vengeful agenda. Casval, on the other hand was the son of a powerful political figure

Both anime contain brutal battlegrounds where the fighting is portrayed with immense bloodlust. Unsettling situations are shown by beautiful artwork and animation. A child is the main character in both of these shows.

These are two shows that have lots of similar story elements and themes. Both are about people trying to survive and fight a war in a land that is not their home. Battles between armies, warships, sword-fights, and tactics. I would argue that everything Angolmois does, Vinland Saga does better, especially when it comes to characters, but both are still enjoyable if you are looking for a historical war series.

Both have a medival badass rampaging around, they also both contain alot of blood and violence. Both are a good watch and share common links

The theme of honor is quite frequent in both series, treated by warriors, both swordsmen and giant Vikings. Even the latter believe in the god Elbaf, whom they pray before the battles, in their own "little garden" arch.

Both are emotional stories with great characters and a lot of thrilling character development.

-Both feature distinct and well defined characters -Both have a band of adventurers on a journey, though the Jojos have significantly less company -Both have settings based on the real world, though of course Jojo's is much more exaggerated than Vinland Saga's

-Both place a major emphasis on travel and exploring new places -Both also place major focus on politics, though Magi's kingdoms are fictional -Both focus on corruption, though Vinland Saga has a more direct approach to it -Both feature similar character development

Both depict the horrors of war and how it affects the young generation that isn't used to such violence.

Let me explain before you type l + ratio + bad recommendation. In both animes, the main character wishes to kill someone; Nagisa wishes to kill his teacher in order to prevent the end of the world, and Thorfinn wishes to kill the person who murders his father. But there's a catch: Nagisa's teacher is a monster capable of flying at speeds of up to Mach 20, and the person who murders Thorfinn's father is extremely powerful and experienced. Both anime have a distinct vibe, but that doesn't mean you'll only enjoy one of them.
