This is my first review i have ever written, so I am sorry if it is bad.

Man, this season is such a surprise. Im happy that although the censoring is still there, the animation has improved this season


Story: 9
... So far, this season revolves on Qin, that is getting attacked from all the other 6 states; a coalition invasion. It is based on actual history, so that's cool to see too. Amazing tactics are present during this war again from either Qin, or the coalition army.

Characters: 10
Easily the best of thing of this show. Xin (Shin) is just so awesome. Although he is a bit reckless sometimes, you are just always so f*cking hyped when you see him slice through his enemies. Lord Biao (Duke Hyou).is the definition of hype. These are the 2 standouts of this season, so far during these 4 episodes.

Art: 7
This season's animation is a HUGE improvement compared to the other 2 seasons. You can really see the budget is bigger, probably because of the huge popularity of the manga now, and the live action movie that did very good. Although it did improve, it is still clunky sometimes and the character designs are very bad sometimes. It is still very watchable though, and an improvement to season 1 and 2.

Sound 9: Hiroyuki Sawano strikes again. Although the music had not much variety in episode 1, he later proved that you never need to worry when Sawano is in charge of the music.

I really love Xin's seiyuu. You get so hyped when he commands his army. All the other seiyuus stand out too.

Enjoyment: 10
This series just gets me so hype. It really makes me feel like a real man. I scream so hard when something hype happens lol.

Overall: 9
As I am a huge fan of the manga, ofcourse I am gonna like this. A strong 9 for me this far.

KINGDOM is back as a 3rd season, with its 'SPINE CHILLING' moments! (You feel the same, right!)

[Li Mu] has returned with his [coalition army] with the neighbor nations to attack [Qin]. The season is focused on this war, and how (if) Qin fight this war when it's at such a huge disadvantage! ----- What will happen to XIN's goal of becoming the greatest general? I've watched all the 26 episodes and enjoyed every bit of it.

... First Things First :
- The art is just the same, and I didn't notice any change in animation quality.
- I like XIN as a protagonist from season 1. He is just as reckless as ever, and kind, and 'Baka'.
- The ED song is just so Epic with its animation!
- Forget about story. It's about war, and I like watching Brutes! That said, the role of strategist is significant, and most characters here are so cool!


The first half of the season focuses on the war at [Hangu-Pass], when [Li Mu] attacks [Qin] with his newly formed ['Coalition army'] with the neighbor nations (can't remember their names). [Qin] is at a serious disadvantage now that even one of the most recognized ['greatest general' Wang Yi] has gone. [Hangu-Pass] has never been conquered before, but the enemy this time is [Li Mu] and with that serious disadvantage in number how will [Qin] defend their kingdom (forget the attacking part)?


HIGHLIGHTS of this season :

- XIN supports BIAO GONG's troops.
- XIN slays one of the enemy general.

- XIN's just great!

The first half was really great, but the second half has been the most spine chilling (especially recklessness of XIN), each episode, especially after the death of BIAO GONG, how XIN and his allies along with the new unexpected comrades saved the losing war. XIN's duel with PANG NUAN was just amazing!

The comment section has been fun as well, although there was not much activity.

I wish to see season 4 with the same amazingness.

Kingdom Is OP From the plot to the action, its an anime that gets your blood pumping and ready for action I 100% recommend this to everyone.

If you haven't started watching it Lucky you, u have a lot of awesomeness to binge, us other guys have been waiting for 6 years for season 3....

You can continue the manga the second starts from volume 17 chapter 174 to volume 24 chapter 260
though i have personally not read any of the manga simply because i am waiting for the anime I am curious but my will is strong.

The only downside i see people having is the ... graphics but this is just a very very minor problem to me since I think its just fine, its very very very hard to find GOOD anime of such caliber.

All i have is praises for this Anime.

This is my first ever anime review, I feel I have to give this anime credit where credit is due because it is the most underrated anime I have ever had the pleasure of watching, do not let the lack of reviews/popularity fool you, it is one of the best animes I have seen.

Story 10/10- The story of kingdom is quite simple, Xin wants to become the greatest General of all time, in doing so you are taken on a journey between China's waring states, and how that came to be. Kingdom brings an array of emotions. ... You will laugh, you will cry(I did anyways), you will be pumped, you will be angry and you will be mind blown by its badass nature. It's very rare you come across an anime where you can have the massive scale of war and so many characters yet be able to simultaneously focus on a main protagonist effectively. I can only compare this type of well done world building to one piece. I feel like the story's pacing is great, it never feels rushed if anything it can be a bit on the slow side which in my opinion works great, its a slow burn type of anime and that makes waiting for the heart pumping wars all the more enjoyable. If you do not like war/strategy anime do NOT watch this, it is not for you.

Art 8/10- Kingdoms art is a HUGE improvement from the very first episode, it is almost not even comparable and feels like a totally different anime, in a good way. It still keeps its classic art style which suits an anime set in China but it is way smoother and not nearly as choppy. Is it the best art of all time? No. Is it good? Absolutely.

Sound 9/10 - Not much to say here, it gets you hyped up and is very loud and an opera type, it suits this anime perfectly as this is meant to have a very boisterous type of soundtrack.

Characters 10/10 - Along the way we encounter many characters of which you grow to love. This show has quite a few people coming in and out but the main characters usually always stay. It will make you love characters you once hated and hate characters you once loved. There really is so much character development for Xin and the people surrounding him. The enemies we encounter and the strongest people in this Kingdom universe are always interesting and very intriguing. Every general on Qin's army is really badass, likewise with every general in the other states. They really nailed the "mighty general aspect" but also really nailed the common common soldiers with a higher goal just like Xin.

Enjoyment 10/10 - I have never in my life screamed and shouted and had my heart pumping in an anime before, that is until kingdom came along. You will just feel like a man watching this anime, what is more manly than running into battle with your sword pointing at your enemy agter a huge speach you had just given your comrades, an army behind you screaming ready to die just for you. You are going to shout when they are running into battle too, especially when you don't know the outcome. You just feel great after watching this anime, its on a much greater scale compared to for example Vinland Saga, so a 500 thousand man battle really gets your heart pumping, when Xin jumps into the middle of it since he has no fear of anything that's when it gets even more enjoyable.

Overall 10/10 - Do yourself a favour and watch this anime, it will make you feel like a real man man and bring out a bag of emotions in you, it really annoys me that this anime is not huge. It should be up there with naruto, bleach and one piece its really impressive, my only hope is that it comes more popular. Again I say do NOT think because its not popular that its not good, most underrated anime of the decade in my opion, a true hidden gem.

A state that was well-known for its power, its history, and its tremendous influence over the rest of the six states to suddenly face a coalition army that required months, if not years of detailed planning from its supplies down to the very man that even a developed nation today can’t ever hope to meet. The amount of politics, resources, and devotion that went into this coalition required every participant’s sacrifice. A coalition that no other kingdoms or states could ever dream of. Even after the warring states period of China. Qin, a state that has lost its six great generals system, ... one of the main components that contributed to the peak of its power. Has a king that was unheard of by anyone, a child that was not born within the royal palace is sitting on a throne of an enormous amount of history and power. His great-grandfather, a king that built the very country that he is sitting on from a merely regular state to a powerhouse. A country that demonstrated its prowess so much that it forced all other six states to bend its knees to pay in respect. While simultaneously, struck fear into them to keep them in check.

El Sei, despite being a king of a grand state, never allowed that pressure to crumble him. El Sei’s previous life as a peasant shaped his world view. Due to this, he doesn’t view that being a king is a privilege that he can use to exploit off of his people. But, rather, just a mere step to his grand goal of unifying China under his rule and to end centuries of infighting within China. The infighting that has caused millions of lives, resources, and bloodshed. Similarly, the abuse he received during his childhood shaped the person that he is now. When facing a crisis, he does not crumble into nothingness. He becomes the shining light for everyone. The perfect example was when everyone in the council around him began to panic and crumble when they first learned the coalition army was advancing towards their doorstep. Instead of using their heads to counter the overwhelming forces, they were already believing that they were done for good. El Sei was the one who pulled them together and inspired them to keep hammering at their heads no matter the light of day. His priority was the citizens of his state. Thus, he orders the safety of the people first while they devised strategies to counteract the forces. Further demonstrating that he was not detached from reality. He was not a king that only cared about his power, status, fame, or royalty. But the people of his state.

What Kingdom demonstrates well is portraying the reality of the war during the warring states period. Every single goddamn panel that involved men clashing on the battlefield were clearly drawn out in the manga. The bodies, blood, sweat, and facial expressions give the overall sensation of hell on the battlefields. Whether they were at the center or just to the corner of the panels, the brutality of war was expressed clearly on their faces. Furthermore, the manga was not afraid to demonstrate how civilians were impacted. Numerous times the manga accurately depicted how civilians were killed, buried, and burned to death -- those panels were disgusting. Now, I don’t know how the anime will handle these scenes, but so far they have shown the willingness to show off a bit of gore from the manga.

Shin, the main protagonist of this series is one the best part of Kingdom along with El Sei. Due to the nature of the story, Shin cannot be written as just a main character that is angry about his best friend’s death, and therefore drives forward throughout the story because he is the main protagonist. The author understands what Shin needs to be. Yes, Shin’s main purpose is to become one of the great generals of Qin. But, he also has a human side. Shin isn’t a dumb brat that is good at swing his sword and cutting down his enemies because the series needs him to be. The author has already presented this with other generals on the battlefield. Especially with Ou Ki, who Shin is destined to be. What the author chose to focus on were Shin’s ideals. Various times in the story, Shin was shown particular care for people that were harmed. Whether it was the killing of innocent civilians or a wounded man from a battlefield. At times, he even takes his belief to the extreme. Just as an example, when he discovered that Kan Ki (Yi Huan) massacred a village of people that Kan Ki just conquered, Shin lost it. Not only did he challenge Kan Ki to a duel, but he also banished one of his close friends and comrades from his unit without any consideration just because that friend was drinking with them. That friend of his wasn’t even informed about the massacre.

When you are a leader of a unit, there are times when a battle lasts so long that your men are just exhausted, hungry, and on edge, because they could die the very next battle. During that time, you need to be able to inspire your men to continue fighting. Generally, in anime, we have seen that our main protagonist can inspire their comrades by just yelling “let’s go!” and they were instantly fired up with no further talking. These protagonists had no doubt whatsoever about his or her abilities and were able to finish the job in no time. Shin isn’t, and doesn’t do that type of shit. He yells to his men that the majority of them will die in battle. He tells them the truth and the reality of their situation. But, he can lift their spirits by articulating how far they have come as a unit. He goes deep on their emotions, feelings, and turns those into a raging fire inside of them. And before you know it, they were charging at their enemies like wild beasts that put the enemies, who were relatively carefree, into a panic mode. Often not realizing it, Shin’s bravery, spirit, and actions on the battlefield inspired the men behind him to continue fighting when they were overwhelmed.

It is a shame that this season, which adopts the best arc in the manga, won’t get much attention in the west due to the gap between season 2 and season 3. Instead, we have anime such as Kami no Tou, Kaguya-Sama, and Fruits Basket taking the spotlight for this season. I’m not saying these anime aren’t going to be good shows, I’m saying that if Kingdom was popular in the west, it would have beaten all the currently airing popular shows by a mile. So, do yourself a favor, if you haven’t watched kingdom. Don’t bother watching season 1 or 2. Just read the manga before watching this season.

Kingdom is by far my favorite manga and series, the coalization arc (wich is being adapted in this season) is the fan favorite of almost everyone who read the manga. WE KNOW THE STORY IS GOOD, WE KNOW THE CHARACTERS ARE AWESOME, BUT.

If Kingdom is going to be adapted to anime, they NEED to get a decent studio, at least an A1-Studios or (my dream) Wit Studio, they have experience doing big animes and Wit knows how to work better with seinen (at least in my view), this adaptadtion OF COURSE is ... 100x better than the S1 and S2 ones, but the Coalization arc still "rushed", the beginning of this arc need (in my opinion) to be a slow passed thing with NO SCENES CHOPPED from the manga.

I mean, Kingdom was one of the top 3 best selling mangas of 2019 (only above One Piece and KNY of course), it is impossible that they don't have the money and "public" to do this. Zhao West Invasion had more sellings than Shingeki no Kyojin and even Hero Academia at some point.

Every so often you come across an Anime that is so Good you do not want to stop watching, Maybe one or two a Year, sometimes none at all.
This 3rd Season of Kingdom is definitely one of those, it is even better than the 2 previous ones.
All the Characters have a chance to shine in this, especially the Generals who are portrayed as twice the size of normal soldiers.
Depending which Country you come from there is no good or bad sides, even the opposite characters are given their special moments.
The Tactical parts of this War were exceptional, brilliant minds pitted against each other, trying to ... bring down the opposition. He Liao Diao ( Ten ) is becoming one who will be great in the future, she is also looking more Feminine after hiding her Sexuality from those closest to her, for obvious reasons.
Kingdom is not afraid of Killing people off if the storyline needs it, Generals you may expect will survive do not always, so when it does happen it can be quite a shock.
As i watched this over 2 Days i felt the impact more than watching weekly, you may prefer one or the other.
Lastly they could have actually finished this in 24 episodes, the last 2 felt like specials. Lei Qiang did not appear till these last 2 eps and these explain why and where she was, then shows her returning to Xin's party.
I thought the previous Seasons were Great but this goes one better and is recommended for people who like Historical Anime.

I want to start by saying, this is one of my favorite anime so I apologize in advance for my bias.

Story: 8

In my opinion, the story was better than in the previous seasons. It focused more on different characters and events whilst also showing quite a lot of Xin. The suspense of the whole war, individual battles, and duels kept me on the edge of my seat. Even though it might not have been entirely historically accurate, I still have to praise it for trying to incorporate real history and real people and making the romance of war even more captivating.

Characters: 9

All of ... the important characters had their chance to shine on the screen. It wasn’t all about a few characters but rather a whole bunch of them. It felt like each of these characters played a big role which made the dynamics between characters even more exciting. It also made the events seem more realistic. We also saw a lot of character development from the main characters, each fighting their own battles while also fighting together to achieve their shared goals.

Art: 8

This season was a big step-up to the previous seasons. Although art is not something I pay much attention to, it still made an impression on me. For example, the first thing I noticed was the remade armor which was more colorful and made the individual soldiers stand out. This can be sad for other things as well, generally, I would say it was more vibrant and drawn with more detail. I especially liked the faces of the characters which now had more depth in them, again adding to the realistic aspect.

Sound: 9

I can’t complain here. I think the voice acting was good and the sound effects as well. What I was pleasantly surprised by was the soundtrack. Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto are great composers. They finally gave the soundtrack something more original and memorable that I hadn’t seen in the previous seasons, where it felt kind of bland.

Enjoyment: 10

This is one of those anime where I was so immersed in the anime, I almost couldn’t stop myself from watching. I was going from one episode to the other without any parts where it slowed down, even if it was caused by the cliffhangers at the end of each episode. However, in each episode, I was always entertained and never felt like some part was meaningless and wasn’t supposed to be there.

Overall: 9

To sum up, this anime was very epic and interesting throughout the whole show. I think it had improved from the previous seasons in almost everything. The soundtrack was great. Although the animation was very good, I still think that it can be improved. Overall, a great anime but I’m a bit sad to see that it hasn’t got much attention.

This is the best Season of Kingdom Anime Series by far, so much enjoyement while watch, and it also gave many goosebumps on me while watching, the music and backsound is now better and very well matched the scene. so much tense and excitement to watch it. Awesome, this is what greateness made of. Hope fully This Anime series will continue until the end of the chapter from the manga, I was grateful Studio Pierrot made this Absolutely Amazing Anime.

Very recommended for you to watch the third anime, althoung if you already read the manga, because the anime series give you so many goosebumps ... and different tense than read the manga, it will make you fell excited too watch the next episode and look how strategy of both qin and alliance to war againts each other

It is difficult to determine the "best" anime of all time as opinions on this topic can vary greatly among individuals. Season 3 of Kingdoms absolutely nailed it!!! S3 starts almost immediately after the military and political events after S2 so i consider it a direct sequel to S2 a few years back. What suprised me in S3 is that the anime jumps right into the plot and military action, no unnecessary fillers, or overly emotional moments. The animation is even better than that of S2 which was already a lot better compared to the bad animation of the first Season of Kingdoms.

Kingdoms as a series, focus on the warring States Period of medieval china. What's unique here
is that despite the story following mostly our main ... protagonist Xin, it also displays the grand scale of the military and political setting of the warring states period through the use of a proper narattion, making it easy to understand the tactics and politics of the period.

We also get to see great generals and tacticians from both enemies and allies and how the impact they have on troop morale and battles. Another thing i like is that Great generals appear to
be a lot bigger than the average person and of course a lot bigger than our protagonist Xin, who is supposedly legendary strong, this gets to show you in a straightforward way the scale of power between people and how they grow after a lot of experience. Makes me wonder if Xin will grow huge if/when he becomes a Great General.

All in all Kingdoms is an epic anime with great characters and setting!

If you decide to watch S1, don't get put off by the first 15 episodes or so, they had bad animation and they were boring, just keep going and it will improve a lot.

Story
Great. Better. So much better than the first two seasons. It isn't common for an anime to grow that much from season to season but Kingdom surely did choose a great arc to come back with. Like Li Mu promised, Xin still didn't know the hell of war and here we are now.

It truley feels like a seinen now and not like a shounen which, when I look back makes sense in a way, that Xin was naive to think war is a play to earn some title but can be cruel ... for the people dying and loosing everything.

After Xin fights Wan Ji the Zhao General, I rooted for Zhao. I could understand where he came from and what he was fighting for. To think this is historical accurate gives me goosebumbs and makes me really, really upset. I loved how Xin had second thoughts but got it together after Diao confronted Wan Ji for not doing a big difference and here we come to characters...


Characters
The most, great character improvement we can see in Diao (even though there is still something that bothers me big time with her) and Xin. Xin grows out of his "being the great general" like the typical shounen sterotype to the wish of ending the neverending 500 years of war. This is truly admirable and links Xin more to Zheng than before.

Li Mu has also a great improvement. He doesn't stand still and fights Qin with all his might. Yes, this is historical accurate and that is why characters aren't too shallow. Li Mu is a great Character and I won't refere to him as an Antagonist, because in his story, Qin is the devil.


Overall
I really enjoy this season far more than the other two. The great animation does the story justice (finally!!!).

I am not a manga reader of Kingdom and have been an anime only since the beginning; season 3 has come a long way from season 1 in every possible aspect and is amazing.

This season adapts the coalition arc which is going phenomenally, from the tactics to the fighting to the stakes, which couldn't possibly be higher at the moment, giving many characters a chance to shine. The story is fantastic and the best it has ever been, specifically the pacing has wowed me due to every episode so far being a 10/10 hype.

The art style has also drastically improved from season 1, and a ... bit from season 2, as the majority is now in 2d while previously it was almost entirely cg and some cg respectively. The animation movement could be a bit better but still quite good and a definite mark up from previous seasons. The sound effects are not bad at all, no troubles there, and the soundtrack this season is fantastic as it is done by Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto, the same who did the Attack on Titan soundtrack, so that is to be expected.

Overall, amazing story, pacing, characters build up and moments, soundtracks, fighting due to much better animation and a much better art style. If this keeps up until the end of the season, this will become my favourite arc of all time, hope you all enjoy it as much as I do! Massive props to Pierrot Plus and Studio Signpost for the work put in, and huge props to the Mangaka Yasuhisa Hara for the incredible writing.

Honestly so good, if you like tactical war, or even war and historical anime in general this is a must watch for those facts alone. When you through in let the characters and improved graphics and marvelous story you get a 10/10.
Xin's growth is so good and the first 3 seasons really do a great job of depicting it.
This show is very bingeworthy, to be honest I tried watching kingdom when it first came out. I failed. I get a few episodes in I think to the poison villian at the old mountain people temple place and I just stopped, and then forgot ... about it for awhile then when season 3 came out I was like damn this looks dope, so I binged, and cut up about half way through season 3 airing and I finished it week by week. The point being is that some anime are binge worthy but are not so good to watch and kinda a drag individually that is not so with Kingdom, it is both. Especially season 3 because it is pretty much one big long complex war. So while it may seem like a dragged out arc/war it isn't because their is so much going on. Lots of characters get redemption and a cool main " villian" is introduced, a formidable general " tactician" on the other side. I know the other seasons had formidable generals but they were just raw strength this was the first time we really had to see the tactical side of war, and not Xin growing stronger then beating people with his raw strength. While that still happens, it can only happen because of the tactics.
So much fun to watch, and it still manages to have funny moments without seeming forced.
The gender check moment was great, and it was cool to see some of the side characters get development to.
What really capped of this season as a 10 was the Kings devolpment, he went from , a long from attaining his dream, to setting the foundation and striding towards it. And because he did that it forced Xin to step up and now Xin is batting at the plate of accomplishing his dreams instead of hoping to get on deck someday. ( sorry for the baseball analogy)
A masterpiece really no complaints.

Hello guys I Love this anime very much I stick to it since season 1 anime only. I am trying to get my friend Anthony Zheng to watch this anime ig: _antonez please preach about this anime to this guy specifically it is very underrated. I recommend it raph sanchez shout out to him for recommending me this anime this is good probably contender for my favorite anime of all time no cap. SOundtrack is beastly anime is beastly I love it. I cannot contain the hype for next week episodes man it is so fucking lit im not even joking. Everyone is so cool ... in the anime and op asf and a menace. ALthough if they maybe remade season 1 or season 2 and make it look better this anime would be more popular. Actually season 1 mostly season 2 was pretty lit. I am watching one piece right now and im not sure if it can be as good as kingdom im only on episode 26 and I don't want to watch it at all :(. Anyways kingdom is awesome 10/10!!!

Kingdom 3rd Season Review


Story (10/10) Masterpiece

The story for Kingdom Season 3 (minus the last 3 or so episodes) main purpose was to adapt (at the time it was released) the best arc in the Kingdom manga and one of the best arcs in manga period, that is if you ask manga readers who are or were in the know during that time. So this adaptation had to massive shoes to fill to say the least. I feel in regards to adapting the source material of the Coalition Arc of the Kingdom manga, it was done justice surprisingly. Every moment I felt from a story ... standpoint was more so or less 1-1 to it. Although if I am missing anything, because it's been quite a while since I've read it Kingdom in general on top of the fact that Kingdom Season 3 went on a year hiatus because of COVID and also on top of the fact that I didn't return to binge through it all until a couple of days ago, I do apologize. But as far as I can see, everything is intact and going off of that I have to give this my outmost praise for making such a comeback in comparison to Season 1 and Season 2 which did not do those arcs justice in my opinion. The cutting certain things, rearranging the time certain plots and even arcs took place in comparison to the manga and in Pierrot fashion they added unnecessary filler. I say unnecessary because of the hundreds of chapters that had to work with during the time. Point is Season 3 did none of that which is probably why it ended up shorter than the previous Seasons even though if I so recall this arc was the largest single arc in the manga up to this point.

More Specifically (8.25/10) Very Good

If there's a section that I felt was just as important as getting right as the story portion especially with the track record of the anime adaptation of this series it's definitely the art and animation department. And this is what you call a night and day difference when you compare it to Season 1, not Season 2. If you read my Season 2 review you may recall me mentioning that people stated that there is a night and day difference between Season 1 to Season 2 as a compliment to Season 2. I at the time and still to this day highly disagree with that sentiment, because Season 3 deserves that compliment not Season 2. Now in regards to the biggest issue the anime adaptation of this series has been plagued with since it's inception, the CG. Is the CG completely gone? Unfortunately the answer to that is No. But! The CG is at an all time low and is only use in very very small scenes that last no more than 2-3 seconds. These scenes most if not all of the time are subjected to scenes that consist of a bundle or massive amount of troops standing, fighting or rushing into something or somewhere. If you have to you use CG and there's no way around it from a budgeting standpoint, for a series like this, this is where it should be allocated. I understand that hand drawing many troops only to be seen on screen for 2-3 seconds is something that is definitely forgivable, I would assume even the top dog animation studios would have done the same thing and there are not intrusive in anyway. Besides that there are still scenes during fights that are still shots, but those I felt aren't are abused as they were in Season 2 as well. When important fights occur animation can be seen. Was it amazing animation? No it was not. Was it good enough to give it a pass at the very least? I would say so. If the anime moving for stays at this improved level, then they've reached my personal bare minimum of satisfaction. If someone asked me how is the art and animation in Kingdom Season 3, I can confidently use the phrase "It is very good and you don't have to worry about it" you can read the manga up to the end of Season 1 and watch Season 2, I wouldn't disagree to go about it that way. But if you ask me just read all of the Kingdom and if you were to watch anything start from Season 3 once you've done that prior.


Sound (Sub) (10/10) Outstanding

Unlike the previous season where I watched it in Dub to binge through it, I watched this one in sub, so with JP VA (plus dub wasn't available of the time of me writing this review anyway but you shouldn't mess with it anyway even if there was to be honest). The JP VA is way better than the dub in every way. Every voice actor knew their roll and killed it. The sound effects were on point and also the music for the openings and endings were once again great. Not only that but the background music was also outstandingly authentic to the vibe I would expect from this as well. Maybe it's because I played a lot of musou games back in the day but I do feel they nailed it in the background music department for every scene as well. As a manga reader though the names are said in by the voice actors using their japanese names but the subtitles will say their chinese names. This might throw some people off but this is in no way a knock on the sound department, but I did wish they just went ahead and used the names the voice actors where saying in the lines to not confuse us the watchers by what we are hearing them say vs what was on the subtitles moments ago.


Characters (9/10) Great

The characters in Kingdom Season 3 from start to finish were all great. So much great dialogue, characterization and character development across the board. I wouldn't say any of the best or mind blowing, but it is definitely great nonetheless and was adapted perfectly.


Enjoyment (9/10) Great

My Enjoyment for most if not all of Kingdom Season 3 was great. The animation on the fight scenes could have been better sure but this is a massive improved from the previous two seasons, it's enough to not ruin my enjoyment and for that I am grateful enough. When I first heard that the animation studio for Season 3 was not going to be Pierrot, I rejoiced. But then I heard that they were called Studio Signpost and that they are a subsidiary animation studio on Pierrot and with no animation work history known to us under their belt, this did get me nervous. Because that also gave it the potential to be even worse that what Pierrot had already done. But my worries dissipated when I watched the first few episodes and I'm so glad I am in one of the correct timelines for this to make a comeback the way it did. The year long hiatus did throw me out of the loop and it took me a minute to get back to it, but when I got back into it and remembered where we left off it was like I never left and I had more so or less a blast binging through it to the end.

More Specifically (9.25/10) Great

This is one of my favorite arcs in all of manga so I was very nervous about how the the anime was going to adapt this. And I can say they did the arc justice with what they had. This is a great adaptation of the Coalition Arc, could it have been better? Sure, but it could have be waaaay worse and I'm glad it was not. It just has to not be a bad adaptation and the arc itself and the content that has will definitely carry it and it definitely did. Throw in the great voice acting and background music that you can only get in an anime format over a manga format and you definitely have a Season of Kingdom I can use the words "great" for and recommend.

War is EPIC. Going beyond its pain, suffering, bloodshed, massacres, piles of death, slayers, and the birth of killers. We see the absolute pinnacle of human bodies to attain victory over blood relatives in this animal empire.
When hands were not good enough, we brought blades; when they weren't good enough, then spears and shields, and now... we kill without even getting ever in contact.

This is THE BEST SEASON OF KINGDOM. A to the bloody Z, they dropped 10'er each and every episode and slapped our faces with ... their golden sandals, and fed us diamonds later to die luxuriously. Absolute pinnacle-worthy war animation and execution of the mangaka's panel works.
And now, the most important point, THE CG IS DONE WELL. You can't even notice the little bit of CG used here and there until you are very particular in every scene.
Man, this show made me a cream puff and adrenaline junkie.

Just go and watch Kingdom already. Tots candy apple worthy

I haven't seen such an intense anime season since Attack on Titan season 1. Kingdom returns after a long time but it comes with massive changes which eventually made the season a masterpiece.

The animation moved to a new studio and they used traditional 2d animation rather than CGI which is a huge change. The character designs are so refreshing and lively.

They brought Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto to compose the music for the series. The same composers are responsible for Attack on Titan epic soundtracks.

And you can totally feel the music change and how it impacts the story and scenes to a ... great extent.

Fortunately, the third season adapts the coalition invasion arc which is one of the best arcs ever written. And even though, the adaption lacks in some aspects, it's still the best adaption of the arc. The intensity can be felt in every episode. Each second of the episode is so intense that you can't dare to look away from the screen.

The twist, the music, the fights, the noise, everything was beyond the expectation. And that expectation goes beyond very rarely. The last time it happened was when I started AoT and now Kingdom S3 has done it again.

It's become a masterpiece.

After stumbling upon this show season 1 last year I had been caught entirely off guard.

Season 3 improved on every aspect of what was bad about the show. The higher budget, quality and faithfulness just made me appreciate how good the story is. Once you get into this show and appreciate the strategies executed by the warring kingdoms of China it will change your thought process entirely.

What an enjoyable show and read, highly recommend. The craziness of the characters are what get you. The powerhouses are built up to be absolute legends slaughtering everyone in sight, one part of the animation which is a ... slight downfall is the gore factor. It does not have an extreme impact but seeing people getting cut up left right with no blood or disfiguration is not too faithful to the reading but kid friendly.

I very much enjoy this season over the last 2 seasons. There is no CGI and it is completely hand-drawn which is very good (the CGI was trash in the last two seasons). The 2D animation I feel is pretty good, I had a bit of whiplash getting used to the new style but once you do it feels like a huge improvement over the last two seasons.
As for the story, it appears this season will be covering the Coalition Arc. As a manga reader, I can tell you this is one of the best arcs in Kingdom, ... if not the best. It was very tense having the outnumbered protagonists face off against the enemies who vastly overwhelm them. I won't get in too much as that would spoil it, but it will be a good season if they do everything well.
