Anime 45486 Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear Punch

Real isekai is back, finally.

Kuma Kuma bear was one of my favourite shows of 2020, and season 2 is even better. Yuna’s adventures are some of the most fun I’ve had with an anime with a while and I think if you’re into CCDCT you’ll have a blast with this one.

Look, if you’re reading a review for Kuma s2, you already have an idea of what the show is about and what you’re going to get with this season. Personally for me, I thought this season was more enjoyable as the storylines and quests Yuna went on were more interesting. It seems like the ... overall theme of the season was Yuna being underestimated and disrespected for her bear costume and appearance and it worked out really well. Some really hilarious episodes and cool fights, but the same loveable characters and tone of season 1. This is a great show to start your week off with. Nothing but great vibes.

The art is really nice and bright, animation is solid, character models are on point. Really no complaints.

Kuma bear season 2 is one of the cutest shows of the year and one of the most fun shows of the season. It’s a must watch for fans of season 1 as well as those into cute girls doing cute things.

Kuma s2 gets a very easy 10/10.

Basically, this second season was a big filler.

There is no progression whatsoever. This season was most of its time some random stuffs and CGDCT (cute girls doing cute things) - except the very last episodes, which had some little drama/tension because of a cliche uninteresting antogonist.

If you are into "nothingness", CGDCT and if you don´t mind no progression at all in a sequel, then you might want to give the second season a chance. Otherwise you might end up dissapointed. The thrill/excitement you felt in season 1 you probably won´t find much in this season.

Don´t take me wrong, it´s nice seeing cute interaction ... and SoL episodes, and there are cute interactions in season 1. But this season was basically just that and most of it was boring (in my opinion). Season 1 is more fleshed out / balanced where we get to see and enjoy a bit of everything.

I still encourage you to check it out with your own eyes, who knows you might not end up enjoying? I just counsel you to don´t go with very high expectations.

Kuma kuma kuma bear suffers from the Isekai second season syndrome.
Our teddybear pajama MC punched all the bad guys, gained all the powers, brought happiness to all lolis, saved all the kingdom, made all the powerful friends she needed, enterpreneured all the money and explored all the new world in the first season.
So the majority of the second season is spent showcasing each of those spots under the paper-thin guise of "problems" occuring to her friends.

Some meager attempts were made to pretend the new world keeps expanding in scope (mainy by the MC saying "Gee-whiz, this new world sure has still many unseen places ... and phenomena in store for me!" on the way back to Beginner Town to look after her stupid restaurant), but there is no truly new encounter, no new place or scenery, and you can bet all your money there is no fresh or at least different plot archetypes.

So, if you liked lolis eating snacks and swooning over fluffy bears, Yuna being underestimated for dressing in bear pajamas, some-or-such fearsome Big Animal appearing, Yuna being praised for recalling this or that junk food recipe and being praised left and right, or Sneaky Bad Guys getting punched really hard after an episode of doing Sneaky Bad Guy things... You're in luck, because that's all this season is.
Oh, and above list is roughly in descending order of screentime, so you better fucking like watching lolis eating cake and cuddling oversided teddybears.

I think that 1 season was enough, and hearing of the creative liberties they took while adapting this show for all ages, I think novel readers will think so too.
Still, to each their own, so if you liked season 1 enough to want less suprising and sloppier second helping, then here it is.
