Synopsis

Located at the end of the world, the Kingdom of Ozmargo is inhabited by beasts of all shapes and forms, ruled by a fearsome nameless king. After a hundred-year war between Ozmargo and the neighboring human kingdom ended, a peace treaty was signed: every year, a sacrifice must be sent to be devoured by the king on the night of revelation.

Sariphi is the 99th and latest human sacrifice. Although frail-looking, she neither fears the king nor has a family or home to return to should she manage to escape from her impending demise. Intrigued by the audacious girl, the king lets Sariphi roam around the palace despite the disapproval of his advisor, Anubis.

Little by little, the king and Sariphi begin to warm up to each other, but the night of revelation is fast approaching. Unbeknownst to them, the fateful day unleashes a series of events that will change the course of destiny of not only Sariphi and the king but also of their respective worlds.

Recommended

Pros:
- several strong, unique and distinctly different characters that aid the story and have interesting relations with one another
- strong leads that support one another in their weaknesses and strengthen one another throughout their relationship
- strong morals that aid the plot
- strong story and character progression

Pro/Con:
- They packed a LOT into one season. I would have liked to see more build-up and struggle within the leads relationship, but I was impressed with how much foreshadowing, story building, conflict and resolution was packed all into one season. Great if you love shorter anime and have a short attention span, not so great if you like like ... more details and slower story progression.

Cons:
- some may not like how the main leads, despite their strongly defined character flaws are a little too perfect, they falter but they never truly fail and this does aid the story in "this character is unreal, better than real" but you are also never truly worried about if they will make it out ok
- going along with the last point, the story could have stronger twists, they were a bit predictable

Overview:
(may contain slight spoilers but wont ruin any plot twists)

It's beauty and the beast but the beasts rule over the humans and they both work to unite the two. There's so much packed in there in how they care for and change the people around them leading by example starting with each other and growing as the lady becomes a queen and has to win her subjects over. I also share a lot of problems with her and it's cool to see how they work that out and learn to trust and care for one another. It's a really interesting dynamic with her being queen too because the king just wants her to live a comfortable life and not have to endure hardship but in becoming queen, there are many responsibilities that she has to take care of and equip herself for and it's really cool to watch her grow into that role and see how the king learns to trust her in that pursuit. And the way she wins people through trusting her intuition and in the king and seeing them for who they really are past their exterior and believing in them and seeing how they show bravery in many different forms through the characters is super cool.
bravery in having confidence in the way that you were designed even when everyone wrongly chastises you for it
bravery in choosing kindness and to protect the weak even at the cost of power or status
bravery in being vulnerable and open and understanding yourself and relying on your partner

and some of the characters directly show their bravery in the ways that other characters are weak or struggle with so seeing them interact is like 😲 🫵

The unique and very through way the main leads care for one another and all of the content packed into one anime makes it fairly memorable. Overall a solid anime.

It's a pretty decent romance anime, but probs the best you'll get for furry anime... not really even joking(not a furry for clarification). Animatiopn is fairly fluid, but not a whole lot of flash. What little flash is present is decent though. An good enough amount of detail to tell someone cared about this anime, but it's nothing amazing. Characters have a fair amount of depth, and are fleshed out a fair amount, but still feel like more could be done with the cast, their backstories, and better building up the characters. Story is fleshed out enough, but I do wish there were more world ...

I don't know what I was expecting. I started watching because I saw the rating was at 7.99 and I thought this story would be somewhat similar to "Mahoutsukai no Yome". As cliche as a story like "beauty and the beast" would be, I thought if it was a boring story then the art must be fantastic since something made the rating go up to 7.99.... but I thought wrong.

First, the art is just sub-par (4/10). Nothing unique. The 1st episode showed the motions of the characters being somewhat fluid, but just as expected, as soon as it reached the 2nd ep it turns all ...
