Unfortunately, there is too much suffering in the world. Everyone knows it and sees it often. Now there are also series that revolve around suffering and "The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash" is one of them.

In "The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash", a young girl is chased out of a village, apparently because she has extremely poor skills. Betrayed by family and friends, she has not yet given up hope thanks to a psychic who protected her until recently and a small voice in the back of her head that tells her of a past life. On ... her escape she now encounters several monsters, which she protects and which in turn protect her.

This is a beautiful series, the music, look and characters are really fantastic so far. Especially for not having heard of the series before, I was really surprised by it.
However, I quickly understood why I hadn't heard much about the anime. It's about how desperate a little girl is and how she suffers. That's the pivotal point of the series and it throws you in at the deep end. There may be series with similar themes, but I don't know of any that are really about suffering and trauma without really softening it. The little girl is constantly reminiscing about her sad past and honestly, I can't see how anyone could willingly watch something like this. Sure, there are moments in between the suffering and it's actually about how the girl heals and finds friends and allies, but that suffering hovers like a dark shadow over her every action and makes the anime sad again and again and again in a way, if I wanted that, I could watch news about some crisis area. So I have to concede that the series isn't bad in principle, the cute monsters honestly hooked me enough to keep watching, but I still found 50% of the anime almost unbearable - at least without skipping.

The first question for this anime, is the MC here still a reasonable person?
At the beginning of the story, the MC often suddenly answered questions even though there were no people or written questions, I questioned the health of this MC.
Maybe because his parents abandoned him, he often talks to himself?
And this is not just limited to the first episode, in the following episodes the MC also often talks to himself, when there is a sound like a bell suddenly the MC answers the question.

The voice of the MC is also very disappointing, please, this is an anime about little girls or often called ... Loli,but her voice doesn't sound like Loli, I think her voice is more like an adult and this is very disappointing.

The storyline also takes slow, there is a lot of silence in this anime,so that I as a viewer felt lonely and had no enthusiasm to watch it.

So basically for those of you who want healing and hope for something sweet from this anime, It's better not to get your hopes up, because this anime is more boring than you think.

Honestly, when the anime was showing what they advertised in the synopsis, it was great. When it was about actual adventuring/traveling with a slime companion, I was hooked. But the second half stops the pacing dead in its tracks to solve a great mystery, and I dreaded clicking on the next episode every time. I came for cute slime interactions and adventure, but that's not what the main course was. If you were here because you like slime creatures, prepare to be disappointed.

Visuals: Great. I loved the way the anime looked, they animated Sora very well. The colors that were used matched the flavor of ... the show - lighthearted, cheerful, and laid back. No complaints here. Also, the sound was fine. Not going to make a separate paragraph for nothing.

Characters: Whatever. Ivy can do no wrong, which gets old fast when it's the same characters praising her. If she continued traveling to different towns and meeting different people, I would have certainly overlooked it. But it just becomes the same group constantly impressed by her previous-life's knowledge and it's just tiring.
I enjoyed watching Sora evolve physically and mentally more than anyone else in the anime. The little interactions Ivy has with him moved my heart, especially when I got to realize that Sora is becoming more mentally capable of communication. But in the second half, he's basically locked away in a bag with minimal screen time.

The last episode was very good, compared to the arc that it closes. And I don't mean that in a "haha it's good because the anime is over xd" kind of way. I genuinely enjoyed the final episode. I mention this because if you can push through the arc that it wraps up, you're perseverance won't be <i>completely</i> unrewarded. Even with this last note, I still cannot recommend this anime. Sorry!

Final score: 4. That's how big of a slog it becomes.

I almost dropped it after the first episode and maybe I should have!!! I really despise these characters that feel sorry for themselves. Yes life is hard, yes life's not fair sometimes, but deal with it and move along!!! The "nobody loves me and I'm useless" line gets old real fast! Main character is NOT likeable at all, I did love SORA which basically disappears halfway in. The story overall is all over the place, like the creator had tons of ideas but didn't develop any in particular. It feels disjointed and poorly written. Also what is with the bags???...she has a magic one that can carry everything ... "item box" like.....so what is the purpose of the rest?!?!! I read some of the reviews describing good animation, but I felt the characters' movements other than the main one are stiff and amateurish. I'm not really sure what the purpose of this anime was by the time it ended. It wasn't really an  adventure and it wasn't really something with any purpose. Hope you find it more interesting than I did.
