Anime 54790 Undead Girl Murder Farce Userrecs

Similar gothic historical European vibe and aesthetic. Both have supernatural elements, morally complex characters, and a protagonist that's haunted by human experimentation.  

The setting of both anime is 19th-century Europe with supernatural beings (in Vanitas no Karte mainly vampires; in Undead Girl Murder Farce, it's more diverse, but vampires also show up). Morally gray characters solve different cases while coming closer to their own personal goals. Both anime have characters who are victims of human experimentation. Both series state at the very beginning that one of the main characters will die at the end of the story, killed by the other one. 

Similar historical Victorian Europe setting, with vampires and other supernatural creatures, and a MC group that solves mysteries

Both about a supernatural detective duo - a quirky smart girl and her fighting dude sidekick/ love interest. 

They're both detectives with supernatural elements. 

Both are series filled with mysteries being solved by brilliant detectives, and each case is constantly presented in different ways. There is also a great amount of comedy (although different styles) to give both series a lighthearted feeling. They both also have connections to Sherlock Holmes and James Moriarty, but of course both are told in different ways.  

-Mystery -Detectives -Comedy -Eccentric male character that is a fun amount of crazy -Gives some Sherlock Holmes kind of vibes, if you are picking up what I'm putting down ;) 

If you like good mystery stories that tend to lean more into a darker theme, then you'll like Undead Girl Murder Farce. Both stories actually have Sherlock Holmes and Moriarty, although in a different way, and both lean into the darker side of mystery as well as society. Also both have very interesting main characters and interesting side mysteries.  

detectives and mystery Moriarty is also mentioned so is sherlock in this series, this ones real good 10/10  

A dynamic duo composed of a very strong half human and a leader who controls this one in order to solve a mistery/find and stop murderers. In a Victorian setting. 

Both anime are lead by a male and a female, one of them having beast like superpowers. Together they solve mysteries in a Western looking world, the time period looking the same as well. A dark supernatural theme that feels very similar. Besides that both anime were the hidden gems in their respective seasonals/new anime seasons that deserve a bit more recognition!

If you were interested in Undead Girl for it's directing, compositions, erratic camera angles and style- then look no further because Yuki Yase another ex-shaft alumni is directing this show It leans far more into Shaft's eccentricities than murder farce does but Shinchi Omata's style is just a class of it's own
