What if Devil is a part timer, and Hinamatsuri had a baby.

That's my honest take with this show, when it comes to it's opening presence, but then also it's comedic timing, and character reactions. It really looks like a blend of the two. While following on it's own merit, that makes for a heck of a good time.

Story and characters: 8
The first episode in itself really pushes the product in what it's all about. Opening up as if it's a serious concept, only to follow it up with some silly, and goofy fun in terms of it's pacing, and how it progresses. Which only makes ... it a joy to watch from start to finish. Which really explains the vibe of the show. You have a more serious setting, with being a detective, and the work that follows with it. Along with the concept of living expenses. But then you trow the beautiful wild and crazy on top of it. It's silly, it's stupid, but it's bundles of fun.

To touch more on the story and it's characters, though as I mentioned, the way it's written, really adds to it to some degree in terms of how well the characters come across. Which is what you want from a more goofy anime. This show more likely would feel a bit more flat if it was too serious. But because they went with a more comedic touch, it adds so much more to it. As if it really fleshes out characters more than before.

Art and sound: 8
First off, let me just scream about the opening, because by lord, I love how it not only flows, in general, but also the music. But how creative it is. I love the effects it's given to make it an anime OP to remember. Not to mention how just in general, there is a sense of FUN when it comes to everything here. The people animating it had fun, the ones who made the music, the visuals, the voice acting. It all seems like everyone had a blast in making this, and it's clear to see. If you're in for a cool fun weird anime, with a hint of serious nature to it, you're in for a treat here.

All of these characters with different and weird upbringing,bunch of ECCENTRICS mixed together in one place like a salad bowl,A SALAD BOWL OF ECCENTRICS.

This anime plot is so chaotic and absurd yet is so enjoyable.

It all kicks off with two females from different worlds ending up on Earth: the blonde princess, who lands ass first on a detective that spying on someone, and the silver-haired swordswoman, who finds herself on the streets and promptly joins the ranks of the homeless. Initially separated, the swordswoman sets out to find the princess while navigating the challenges of street life. But hold on, this isn't where the story peaks. In just the second episode, the princess, after binging on internet and manga, decides she wants to be a detective too. Meanwhile, the still-homeless swordswoman, unsuitable for detective work, opts to become a more hardworking homeless person to earn some cash.

The plot is as bizarre as it gets. Sometimes it feels like the narrative is on a rollercoaster with no brakes, throwing curveballs left and right. In one episode, the swordswoman morphs from homeless wanderer to cult leader in the blink of an eye. It's this random, unpredictable nature that gives the show its charm. Like a salad bowl, you never quite know what you'll get, but somehow, it works.

Sure, not every joke lands, and sometimes the comedy falls flat, but when it hits, it's golden. Just like digging into a salad bowl, sometimes you'll encounter a sour, unripe tomato, but other times, you'll bite into a sweet, juicy carrot.

The opening song and animation is amazing,the song is catchy, definitely one of the best in this season,the animation for the opening is also very eye catching,combining 2d animation with real life enviroment always has it's own charm,so does the animation for this anime, it's colorful and vibrant,just like a salad bowl.

The characters each have different quirks and personalities. No one feels bland, and the character designs are distinct and memorable. Just like a salad bowl, the more variety, the better.

Ah, Henjin no Salad Bowl—an intriguing twist on the classic isekai formula, where the tables are turned, and our protagonists escape their world into ours. It's like a reverse isekai rollercoaster ride, with a princess and her loyal retainer teaming up with a local PI for good old-fashioned adventures.

The premise alone brings to mind similar narratives like Sasaki to Pii-chan, and indeed, there are echoes of that same charming vibe in Henjin no Salad Bowl. Picture this: a chivalrous knight navigating the challenges of homelessness while a powerful and witty princess tests the boundaries of her abilities, often teetering on the edge of trouble.

Now, let's ... talk humor—because there's plenty of it! From the knight's misadventures as a vagabond and her ignorance of the world is amusing to the princess's knack for getting herself into sticky situations, there's no shortage of laughs. It's the kind of anime that doesn't take itself too seriously, and therein lies its charm.

But, and it's a big but, despite the lighthearted tone and comedic moments, I couldn't help but feel a tad disconnected from the characters. A sense of ambiguity surrounds the plot's direction, leaving me scratching my head and wondering where exactly things are headed.

As much as I want to give it the benefit of the doubt, I'm hovering on the edge of dropping this one. Perhaps a few more episodes will shed some light on its potential, but my expectations remain cautiously low for now.

A reversed-isekai light story where the girls are going to current modern Japan instead of MC getting isekai-ed. This is just like the genre said, a pure slow-pace Comedy theme anime. So don't put any logic or to criticize whether the story does not make sense. It is basically fantasy story in modern world Japan with MC as crappy poor detective got help by the Princess that can do various magic but it does not focus on detective or mystery side, it instead focus on slice of life, cuteness and jokes.

[Characters]
- MC is a crappy private detective that does poor job and live poorly without ... sexual hormone (uninterested in marriage, opposite gender, and sex). A typical MC for Shounen/Boy-targeted anime audience.
- Odin princess is very cute loli and has similar voice accent and vibe with Hina Satō (also known as Odin) from The Day I Became a God.
- Livia as guardian of the princess is voluptuous/sexy and has interesting development, starting as homeless and got so many (failed) jobs.

Overall it is fun and relaxed anime with some little mild nudity. It also contains some useful education (e.g. tips as onscreen text telling you to have permit for fishing in Japan) that shows from time to time. This anime is suitable for 13+ and to be watched together especially if you enjoy cute anime girls.
