First things first, If you don't know who the director of this anime is then I'll let you know.
His name is Sunghoo park, most notably known for directing the amazingly choreographed fight scenes in Jujutsu Kaisen among other stuff. So I decided to watch this with that in mind. This guy has so much raw talent, it's insane. He needs to be appreciated more.

Now on to the review.

Story : The first episode is one of the best premiere episodes I've seen in recent memory or even in the past year, It just throws everything all at you and hooks you in! I seriously was not ... expecting the story to be this engaging from the get-go. I assumed it's gonna be a run of the mill spy/assassin esque story but it actually has several exciting elements like who is the main character and why is he so good at what he does. The story kind of reminds me of John wick, atleast the starting portion. Go into this blind and I won't spoil anything for you.

Animation/Art : Now this is where the anime truly shines, the background art is superb and it blends so well with the action scenes. The thing that blew me away with this anime is the fluid blending of action and non action scenes. Usually when an anime has an action scene or Sakuga scene, you can tell from the different outlines and art but here it's not visiblly apparent and it just comes at you out of nowhere. This makes for such a refreshing experience that I haven't experienced much. Top tier really, nothing much to say.
Soundtrack/Music : The music is also surprisingly well suited for this type of anime. On top of that, The opening is done by Coldrain which is amazing band known for their rock and metal songs.

All in all, This is a very surprising out of nowhere anime that Toonami decided to produce and it deserves more attention than it's getting right now. It has high production values and a stellar staff, So it's in safe hands.

As of right now, The anime is a very easy 8/10 but this rating may or may not change depending on how the rest of the show goes.

A young man trains to become a ninja in a secret clan hidden in the mountains of Japan. The clan turns out to be evil, and the young man considers running away with a female colleague. The organization then kills his love interest, giving him cause for revenge. Thus, the protagonist has to use his skills against his malevolent mentors.

This is the premise of a 2009 movie called Ninja Assassin, but it can also work for this anime. The movie, at least, was somewhat entertaining, despite not being memorable. Ninja Kamui can only manage that for the first few episodes, and that is because of ... the well-made fight scenes alone. The plot is as generic as they come, the basic revenge story we've all seen before (and done better) a thousand times. It doesn't take long before the animation quality — the only thing this anime has going for it — starts to fade. Then the anime decides to introduce CGI mecha fights, and not even the action is good anymore. By this point, any goodwill from the first few episodes is gone, but it keeps getting worse.

The characters are bland, boring caricatures that you'll forget in a few moments. There isn't a single interesting character in the whole cast. The anime then tries to use these cardboard characters in dramatic moments, and it feels cheap and unearned.

Even the soundtrack is mostly forgettable, there are a couple of decent tracks in there, but that's it.

I recommend this anime to anyone suffering from insomnia. If you want to watch a bloody revenge story with ninjas, go watch Ninja Assassin instead.

It is almost a masterpiece from the very first episode.

The story is not unique if we address it to the cliché: "character seeking revenge", but as the plot develops, it can become unique. The plot may seem cliché in theory, but the animations are up to the task of making it interesting.

The artistic style is at the top. The animations are of a high standard, as are the accompanying sounds. I really enjoy watching the fights.

As the episodes go on you see more character development. It's worth watching. If you like Samurai Champloo, you'll probably like Ninja Kamui.

Ok so for a start the current reviews l feel are way too harsh for what this anime was. It was really good if you could turn your brain off and watch the beautiful scenes unfold with a semi decent plot for the story. The only big let down was the pacing, since they only had 13 episodes for such a massive project the ending did feel quite rushed but apart from that everything else was pretty good. This is also the reason lm calling out those that left a review 3 eps in cos how the f word are you going to give it ... a negative when it did really well to hook the audience in and have an exciting start.

Semi decent plot, nothing to make you fall head over heels for it but worked well enough and gives enough time to set it up. I would've liked a little bit more at the start and the end but apart from that for an anime original this is pretty good.

The art is really good my only complaint is 3d mechs but name me more than like 5 current mech shows that are all 2d. Fight scenes are pretty fuckin sick especially at the start.

Sound: 8.5/10
Kinda self explanatory. The soundtrack is a decent listen by itself. Voice acting goes pretty hard.

Characters:7/10
The main characters do get built quite well and the emotions are pretty cool to watch plus edgey a little bit. Only complaint is i wouldve liked more episodes to build a little more and help with the main issue for pacing.

Ninja Kamui initially starts off as a typical runaway ninja story, yet it managed to captivate me despite its clichés. Particularly, the performance of my favorite voice actor, Kenjirou Tsuda, adds an enjoyable layer to the experience. The richness of the story and characters was also something I appreciated.

However, when it comes to the turning point, like many others have complained, the anime shifts to the mecha genre halfway through, which also bothered me. I never quite got accustomed to this genre and found myself watching the remaining battle scenes with a sense of boredom. This transition somewhat contradicted the atmosphere initially established and left ... me somewhat disappointed as a viewer.

Nevertheless, Ninja Kamui's later episodes were filled with character developments and unexpected plot twists. Overall, while there are valid reasons to watch the anime, the unexpected genre change might disappoint some viewers.

The first impression of this movie, not an anime, is it’s like watching a cinema at a theater. Detailed depictions of persons and surroundings including the background are realistic at an appropriate level, and especially the descriptive pictures in the motions are outstanding. The action scenes appear like those captured by the high-speed cameras surrounding the characters in the fight. As a consequence, these scenes deliver the fighting energy to the audiences. It is hard to depict the fighting energy in the motion pictures, and there are rare shows delivering the fighting energy.

The second impression is its speedy pace in storytelling, including places of the ... scene adequate to the storytelling. The places the protagonist is heading are where his fury is heading to. The protagonist is seeking the enemies to revenge and he visits people in the seeking of the enemies, and this storytelling is so speedy that the audience have little time to do something other than watching an episode before the episode finishes.

The third impression is from its sound effects and music. These also make this movie close to a cinema at a theater. Exact timings of sound effects composes the realism in the action scenes and appropriate background music excites the fever in the fight. Theme songs are also at a high quality. The motion pictures, sound effects and themes songs comprise this movie, not just an anime.

This movie appeals to the masculine ones in the all ages, and would emerge as a new genre in the movies.

TL;DR: John Wick the anime with ninjas.

The first episode was somewhat promising, but after that it became clear, that this is a low effort hack-and-slash anime, whit a massive budget spent on animation quality.

It's the similar type of rubish, what we can see in Demon Slayer, but at least in this one, the story is trying to remain true to it's genre.

If you're the type of person, who can be decieved with smokes and mirrors, than this anime will most likely entertain you for 3-4 hours. But after that, you will not even remember watching it, because it's just that generic.

Ninja Kamui so far has been an interesting ride. I'll open this by saying the first episode was abysmal, I could not for the life of me understand why it was rated so high and its score seemed to confirm the idea that as long as the fight scenes are flashy and loud then a show does not need any more substance than that to do well. It was predictable to the point that it was insulting to view. It also didn't help that they condensed what ostensibly should have been the entire first episode into a 3 minute montage not allowing the viewer to ... attach themselves to the MCs struggle adequately just for some shock value and so they could squeeze another fight in at the end to keep the monkey brains interested.

Now with that being said, episodes 2 and 3 seemingly turn this on its head and grant the series a much needed mystery hook as well as genuinely compelling motivations for its cast allowing the view to ask questions that the first episode did not such as “how did this world come to be”, “Why do these people choose to abandon their way of life to hide in constant danger” and “Who is pulling the strings and to what end?” The turn around is not only impressive but makes me wonder if episode one's poor pacing issues and lack of interesting drive was due to corporate meddling by adult swim and not lack of writing talent by the staff at Sola entertainment.

So long as the quality of that mystery and script continue to be held at that displayed during these past two episodes then Ninja Kamui could be an easy recommend for a brand new up and coming studio but if I am proven wrong by my assumption and that first episode becomes the standard for the majority of the season then it will be a shame that a seemingly compelling narrative would be undercut but unfortunate mistakes.

As a final point, if someone tries to describe this show either to recommend or disparage it as “Anime John Wick with Ninjas” you really should just disregard their opinion because they clearly don't understand what John Wick is about outside of “Angry cool guy gets revenge” which Is not only reductive but completely ignores core aspects of each ones characterization for no more than a cheap comparison

Ninja Kamui a Hack and Slash, Ninja show in this season of Winter 2024.
From what I see. its a great Action flick-anime with amazing visual
and good audio. The downside is the story/writing of the show.

Animation:
Animation is Great from the fighting sequence, visual effects and filmography of the fight scene. TBH I can see the resemblance of John Wick. TBH its more like both AOT and John Wick. Camera angles are dynamic it enhances the fights so good and have a bit more impact. Its a good sight to see.

Now for the Story/writing. Its generic but not in a bad way. Characters and story line ... are good. I love a good revenge plot but it just lack impact for the characters and their relation with one another and the story itself. This is the only thing that's been bothering me when I watch this anime. If they flesh out or make the audience invest in the character. I would definitely enjoy it. All in all, The story/writing is pretty much fine.

First few episodes promise cool ninjas, with excellent and interesting ninja techniques, fighting each other in the shadows of a modern-day city setting.
The middle episodes fill in the plot that nobody really asked for, retcons the ninja techniques and turns it into a quasi-mecha anti-corporate battle and the later episodes sees the main character imitating a 'secret ninja art' that he saw once by just repeating the words his opponent said like it's a magic spell instead of a jutsu.
Main character gets progressively weaker with each episode for no other reason than moving the plot forward, I guess?

My suggestion: Avoid watching the anime, maybe watch ... the action scenes on youtube. There's no coherence between the world's rules, the plot's antics and the combat anyways.

I can't believe someone said the characters are underdeveloped after 3 episodes with one episode solely dedicated to showing the MC's lifestyle and character. Just a typical person who wants to try to go against the grain...

Ninja Kamui is essentially the John Wick anime we all secretly wished for. It's a story of revenge emphasizing fight scenes, violence, and power. Adding in ninjas and cyberpunk themes gives it a fresh new spin on the revenge story.

Similar to Cyberpunk Edgerunners, it's hard to really call this an "anime" as the only thing anime about it is the Japanese voice acting. This show was produced for Adult ... Swim too so it is tailored towards western audiences. You can immediately tell this is the case just based on the storytelling, animation, and vibe. This anime is dark and heavy with very little light-hearted moments to break up the pace similar to most western superhero comics.

All that being said, this is just an enjoyable show if you are into action and violence. The vibe is super cool and the animation is fluid giving some of the most intense fight scenes I have seen in a whlie. This show will help break up the Japanese anime viewing experience if you are watching multiple shows at once and things start to feel monotonous. Looking forward to this becoming a long-standing series

One of the lyrics of the fantastic OP "Vengeance" features the line "Rain, rain, come wash away this goddamn pain!". That line starting ringing through my head as I got to the end of what I firmly believe to be the worst of the Toonami originals which so far aside from one stroke of luck in Housing Complex C have all ranged from meh to terrible, thus leaving me under the impression that any future one of these is just gonna suck and that it's easier to go into them with that feeling to experience at least some form of enjoyment.

Which is a real shame ... because the first episode shows real promise. The plot is of course nothing special. If you've seen any revenge plot or even just the first John Wick, you'll know what you're getting into but where the first episode shines is in its fantastic action and direction which shouldn't surprise anyone who even has a passing familiarity with the work of Sunghoo Park. Once that was finished? There was genuine feeling of excitement for what was expected to be a fun hacking and slashing time where a ninja takes vengeance after his former clan took something from him.

What was instead presented for the next twelve episodes was a plot that was incredibly boring, so many unnecessary twists and turns that make the universe feel tiny as well as stupid and contrived, some appallingly bad acting from at least the dub cast and writing that is on the level of Shyamalan's The Last Airbender with how overloaded with exposition it is. It feels like it's almost a throwback to the days of those old hyper-violent OVAs that would be rented in the worst ways because it hinges its entire appeal on how brutal its fights are which to be fair it does succeed in, especially in the first episode. But brutality isn't all that a show should have. This is not a situation ala Mortal Kombat where you can come for the gore and stay for the lore, this show is really, REALLY hoping that there's only a desire for gore and yet it also wants care for its story and characters which are PAPER thin. Higan is as dull as they come for leads with no real connection or emotional anchor beyond having a family slaughtered by ninjas, detective Mike seems to exist strictly to be the quirky grizzled detective with linereads and writing where you get the sense they wanted all his lines to be catchphrases people would get stuck in their head. Emma is painfully boring and she has a connection to the lead and his backstory in a way that's so forced that it's genuinely baffling. This anime believes in development by way of bad fanfiction where it's not about the characters, it's about how many hamfisted connections get crammed in, like the sheer idea that characters are connected is all that's needed to make the plot interesting.

At a certain point? One will see every single twist coming from miles away and even the one thing that people will hopefully be coming to this to see, the action, will get taken over by mechsuits with exposed fingers and toes in a move that feels marketing driven above all. Whatever you do? Don't bother watching this anime. If you want a good vengeance based ninja story? Track down the movie Ninja Assassin. It will give you far more entertainment than this.

What a huge waste this anime was. Waste of quality and time.

Ninja Kamui had an overwhelming start to his story. Very good and exciting, but it soon began to demonstrate certain narrative "vices", starting with the more Americanized story. Unfortunately here it didn't work at all and soon the anime started to look more like a trashy North American film.

The script is also something. I believe that anyone with 20 hours of action films watched could reproduce something similar. However, until its first half, even its vices, Ninja Kamui still showed itself to be an anime that succeeded in the art of entertaining, but ... in its second half, not even that happened. Everything got worse, it became uninteresting, predictable, meaningless plot twists and terribly boring flashbacks.

Technically, the anime did well, especially in the sound aspects (great opening and soundtrack... the Americanization was good in this regard) and the animation delivered something good. There were action moments that used a lot of CGI but I particularly liked the use of it here. Fight choreography also pleased me. However, it stops there as the direction of this anime was catastrophic in carrying out the work.
It's even difficult to recommend it or not because it's an anime that's actually entertaining, but with addictive and clichéd content, even though there are some traces of quality. It hurts me a lot because I really value an anime that starts bad and ends good and I abhor an anime that starts good and ends bad. Ninja Kamui is the second case.

Furthermore, if you have nothing to watch, maybe you can give it a try. If not, enjoy your time with something else.

While its animation may dazzle, the lack of cohesive storytelling and poorly developed characters ultimately leave viewers feeling unsatisfied. For those seeking depth and meaningful narratives, this anime may fall short of expectations.

What a weird show, what a weird story, what a weird conflict. So much effort was wasted on this show and it feels so boring.

We have ninjas who moved from Japan to join up with some evil global elites in order to help them to achieve global domination (because who really cares why) and they produce high tech equipment for their "ninjas" including mecha armor while doing random corpo political bs in the background. OG ninjas had a beef with new ninjas so new ninjas want to kill OG ninjas who are exiles. MC is one of these OG ninjas and he wants revenge, because ... family.

Apparently been a ninja means been in the open double jumping in the air with a sword, blowing stuff up while wearing a NEON (I kid you not) bright armor. Also been a ninja means been not capable to overcome even a single f-ing obstacle without tripping alarms. Ninjas is when you crowd up with 20 other ninjas in a hallway visible to your enemy.
But really once you figure it out it's just a gore version of Naruto but without any of the fun parts Naruto had.

All the "special" skills you see in the beginning disappear from the show half way in, getting replaced by mecha fighting and more generic bad guys been one shot in the background. Clarity gives way to lots of smoke, probably to draw less scene and backgrounds. The evil guys do their pointless one liners that don't affect the flow of the show or the story and disappear. MC growls about revenge and his sidekicks discuss another stupid plan that will of course FAIL, because their opponents always beat them to it.

Let's crack into their servers because if we have EVIDENCE and.... Ehm.. Upload it somewhere? Surely it will bring down the large corporation that controls politicians globally and influence Agencies of countries. It's such naive nonsense honestly. It feels like half the story and events are only there to bloat the show to fill it to the whole length of a season. Otherwise it could be an average watchable 1.5 hour movie if we drop the rest of bs.

It's so boring to watch, incredible how all this production was wasted on this half-assed sad excuse of a story. Maybe I should start doing god damn scripts for shows as it feels like overall media industry is filled with hacks who can't write to save their lives. But wtf do I expect, the guy was involved with Jujutsu Kaisen which is also braindead in terms of story telling.

It's a mystery. No, no the show itself, but how can first few episodes be so captivating and well done, only the rest of the show to disappoint. It started very strong, with mysterious story, promising characters, good pacing and damn right awesome choreography only for it to turn into mecha CGI ninja robots and revenge.

When artists bother, animation and drawing style is great. Rich backgrounds, animated perspective shifts, flying cameras and what not. But it seems at one point all of the animators collectively gave up. About half of the episodes in it's all about CGI, shortcuts, repeated shots and the like. Characters are ... no better either. They start really strong with mature approach, emotion, good acting only to end up being "me kill all" kind of thing.

Story is the most disappointing part to me. It simply goes nowhere. World building is not the best and setup is not all that creative either, but it's enough to hold interest and push the narrative. But then, you guess it, it goes nowhere. Writers it seems had no clue how to finish this story and all the hype they generated with first few episodes just fizzled out.

Am torn on this one. Initial episodes were great but later every thing went to average hell. Even choreography.

TL;DR: Basic revenge story, but it's a mix of ninja and mecha. The best reason why you should watch it is because it's a short 13 episode anime with an actual conclusion (if you are like me and have plenty of experience in the anime/manga sphere and just want finished stories, not start the 124th anime/manga that you still didn't see the end of cuz it's not completed yet/cuz you need to read the real source material)

Heard it's an anime original (so finally an anime with a beginning and an actual ending) so I decided to check it out. While the anime is a 5/10, ... I do think it's a fine 5/10 (unlike the 5/10 that I gave Frieren just because it doesn't do anything really bad) and you can get the value out of it if you come in expecting that. And you bet this is what I expected not only because it's some random anime with ninja in it's title (which made it likely to be clichéic, and luckily, I was only kind of right, it's pretty wacky in some parts), but also because of the first episode and how it tries to emotionally manipulate you to care about the happy family throughout most of the episode (except the beginning which promises you action, so the reason you came in here for), before they meet an inevitable unfortunate fate. Sorry story but you'll need to do way more than that to make me care either about the family or the revenge plot. The only reason you want for me to care about the characters/story is "look, he is a good husband and father, I'm sure you care about him now". To be fair though, with what little time they have (13 episodes) to begin and end a story, they probably did what they could. Still doesn't excuse the failure of making people with at least some level of self-reflection and life experience not easily invested in a story due to the failure of making a main character with an interesting personality or philosophy. For a novice or someone too passionate about anime characters it will probably be a good start and a good, enjoyable anime though and I can't take it from these people. Good for them.

Production value (animation/voice acting/sound)
As a story that counts on it's production value to carry the anime, it was pretty good, although there are plenty of complaints about the CGI fights that creep in more and more in the latter half of the series. I for one don't care either about animation nor production value, probably only in the case of Jojo since it is pretty wacky in terms of fights, voice acting and sounds and they really help highlight those parts. Moving on though, there are probably plenty of people that will begin this anime because of the iconic voice of Kenjirou Tsuda which, while I do enjoy his voice, it got pretty boring after a while since he always keeps his cool voice in this anime, without too much of a hint of emotion and I don't think this works in an anime where he is the main character, so it's probably better for him to stay in the side character role. Regardless, while the production value is pretty good, what carries any story is, of course, the story and it's characters (and their dialogue), so this doesn't change anything for me in terms of scoring the anime.

Setting
It's is a world that combines the old ninja ways and the new technological advancements, the past and the future, and how the clash of two opposing ideologies shake the foundations of society. Or rather, it's just an ideea that probably came up because it sounded cool, had main stream appeal and maybe even because it would ease the animation costs (which can't be blamed) but it doesn't have anything to say about it, it's just something for mainstream appeal and for the people who care about an original premise (and animation) more than anything else.

Story
Main character and his family die, he gets revived and tries to find the ones responsible in order to kill them. I said what was to be said about this in the beginning already, so I won't repeat it. Instead, I should mention that the plot focuses on MC, the police side of events, the ninja clan side and the mecha creator side. There isn't too much to the police side (actually, to any of them, since they are spread throughout the story so the time that they have is pretty limited), it focuses on the MC newfound friend and his subordinate, which, I'll give them that, were pretty likable and had their moments and it was a nice change of pace to see a cast with only adult characters. They try to get dirt on the mecha creator (plenty of times with the help of the mc) In order to arrest him and that's about it. The ninja side focuses on the last remaining ninja's and what they should do, reveal themselves or disappear, although it would be quite a stretch to say they actually debate and explore this, but more on this a bit later since it was the worst part of the anime. And on the mecha side of things, he has a few goons that end up fighting with the MC, each of them with their own reasons (some are personal, some not). Shouldn't forget the last fight in the last episode, the MC wins with an asspull, which should be forgiven because it was a pretty cool fight (if you don't care about the CGI)…no way. Of any reason why he should win, he should have a BS move that he normally shouldn't have. The writing team couldn't even come up with the excuse that it is more thematically consistent and justified that the MC wants to put an end to the ninja era, while the villain wants to keep it alive. While that still wouldn't be good because the MC didn't care about this until I think the last few episodes and it wasn't his main driving force, it still would have been a better excuse.

All in all, it was an interesting mix of mecha and ninja's, although I probably wouldn't care at all if another anime came up with this idea again, it's a one and done deal (at least in the fighting focused space, I wouldn't mind something that actually has something to say about these subjects).

Now I just need to talk about the ninja backstory since this is the part of the story that actually triggered me a bit. First of all, it's to be understood that there is a guy who gathers youngsters in order to train them to become soulless ninja that only care about accomplishing the missions that they get and only a few pass. And what a coincidence that 2/3 characters that pass are male and 1 female. I will be that guy and say that seems veeery unlikely. First of all, out of all the males, I doubt that a woman would have the biggest level of strength, maybe she has skill though, but that shouldn't be enough. Secondly, the whole shtick of the ninja school is that they don't want emotional soldiers, yet there are plenty of woman and one of them is actually selected as one of the best ones and not only woman are actually known for being more emotional than man, but there is nothing about her that gives the impression that she is dissociated from her emotions. In fact, none of them seem like that at their core; they are all emotional. I don't know what the hell happens in that school, but it makes and chooses the worst ninja's that they could train. If the whole point of the school is to have fighting machines that lack emotions, perhaps you should train them into subordination and dissociation and not give them the freedom of talking to each other and develop friendships and even romantic relationships. Of course, I don't blame the story for doing that, but the ones in charge of it for making such a poorly thought out lore for the ninja's and how it makes zero sense that they still are functional normal human beings that are able to fight though.

All in all, the story is just used as the appeal for the revenge story, which in turn is used for the fights, since this is what the average anime fan cares about the most these days, although even here they failed since many of these people kind of turned against them, more or less, because they got mecha CGI sword fights that they don't like. Oh yea, the themes. Revenge is bad and you can always change yourself/find your way. Too bad they fall flat since this story ain't made for anything deep or philosophical, this is your run of the mill conclusion that needed to mention it's themes in the end and show that the characters grew up, which wasn't that bad, just generic and what you already expected and Kenjirou's cool and unemotional voice also didn't help. Actually, maybe the problem wasn't with him, but the lack of closure that he doesn't get about his family. He sees his family die and then goes angry and serious throughout the whole story. Then at the end of the story we see him satisfied and ready to move on, which made me think about one of the Silent Hill games (great games, especially the first three), where a character loses his only parent, sobs a bit, than keeps his composure about it until you finish the game, where he finally lets out all of his emotions in a cry of sadness for all that happened to him. A scene like this would have greatly helped the MC and his development at the end, too bad it didn't happen though, I guess.

Characters
I said what had to be said about the MC already since he is quite a plot (and fighting/animation) device, so moving on.
The FBI agent and his subordinate were pretty nice, to be fair, both their dynamic and their characters, definitely a highlight of the anime. While they did have their own character arcs and were made fairly human, the time we had with them and the execution weren't enough to be really significant, especially in a 13 episode anime, but to be fair, this may be subjective.
The villains were alright, nothing to write home about, at most 2D characters that are easily forgettable, I couldn't care any less about them, maybe only in the last 2/3 episodes, just a bit.

I want to mention one of the villains though, because he left a good impression on me, too bad he was done dirty by the writers. (MILD SPOILERS) He lives his childhood as a lone wolf that kills in order to survive, finds two friends that he cares about then gets backstabbed by both of them because yes. They leave the ninja school and abandon the mission and leave him alone. One of them tried to excuse this but it was still pure bs. Later, he also wants revenge on his friend, but of course he loses and gets talked into becoming a good guy and forgiving him, because the writers said so. Not gonna lie, I was way more invested in his revenge and life story than the MC (or any other character, for that matter) and he was fully justified for hating his friend for the rest of his life, showing real consequences to past actions and how you can't repair some relationships several years later after you completely abandoned it by doing almost nothing, hell, even by doing plenty of things. There is a great example in Bojack Horseman (american animation, while I'm not attracted to them, this one blew me away) where the protagonist wants to rekindle his friendship with a dying friend after he also abandoned him, but he refuses to forgive him because he abandoned him for all these years, and now the protag. has to live with the fact that his friend died while hating him. Good thing this anime, like Bojack, is also intended for "mature" audiences (+17, because of the blood/gore, somehow) and it could easily get away with such a conclusion. So yea, points taken for that.

So the characters were serviceable, they did their job and were alright, but not the kind that I really care about or think about tomorrow, they managed to move the plot and it was nice to see an older cast of characters.

Conclusion
I don't think there is anything left unsaid which I already talked about, it's a generic revenge story with alright characters. I probably sounded way more negative than what I actually felt while watching this anime, I knew what I came here for and got exactly that, in some parts (characters) more than I expected and it was an alright watch for something to see weekly, but I still can't recommend it in good faith for someone that has standards.

what if ninja with modern technique and tools instead kunai or shiruken, or maybe a log teleport? this is what ninja kamui coming for, with modern technology and modern technique, main character wipe out all enemy with their ninja skills, even the causes of main character revenge is generic, but i love how the choreography fight in this anime is 'peak'.

therefore the enemy is a big company that using ninja for their guard for expanding their technology while targeting the main character, higan must fight all enemy subordinates before fight the leader, this is what make this anime great, they will serve a ninja fight ... in every higan fight with modern weapon and technique

Ninja Kamui" is a heart-pounding ninja adventure that hooks you from the first shuriken throw! .The animation is as sharp as blade, bringing each fight to life with electrifying intensity. But it's not just about the action—the story weaves in themes of honor, betrayal, and redemption, keeping you glued to the screen. "Ninja Kamui" is a must-watch for ninja enthusiasts and action lovers alike!. These kinds of anime's strong point is their action, and when I heard that Park Seong-Hu, director of 'Jujutsu Kaisen,' is bringing this anime to light, I was convinced it will not disappoint me in the action department. For the binge-watcher, ... this anime is exactly what they are searching for...

The story is pretty straightforward, with quite a few cliches, and most of the twists ( so far) are quite predictable. The characters don't have a lot of depth, but the action and soundtrack elevate the overall experience, thus I have found myself entertained enough to finish all released episodes so far.

It's a bit of a shame that the story, setting, and ninja lore with its blend of sci-fi aren't expanded on more ( so far). This story HAD the potential to be much better, despite its cliches. E.g. a dangerous man's family gets brutally murdered and he embarks on a journey of blood and ... carnage to avenge them (The cliches matter little if the execution is good and gets you invested in the story and characters, IMO)

Nonetheless, if you're just looking for a good action anime with a cool soundtrack and some gore, then I recommend it.

If you're looking for something deeper, intricate, and complex in terms of storytelling and characters, this might not be for you.


Personally: I'd recommend it. (Raising my score from a 6-Fine- to a 7-Good- because the music is bangers and helps get you pumped up for the action sequences)

Objectively, as a reviewer: readers of this review might have mixed feelings over this series.
