Anime 9130 Saint Seiya The Lost Canvas - Meiou Shinwa 2

This anime is so freaking good. I watched the entire Saint Seiya series plus the movies. I love this prequel. Shiori Teshirogi did an amazing job in creating the characters and story. I really want this anime to get a third season because it is brutally underrated. More people should know about Saint Seiya in general but sadly it isn't big in the West. If you're interested in starting Saint Seiya, I really recommend The Lost Canvas because it's short and does a fantastic job in explaining the gist of the holy wars. 10/10! PS. My favorite characters are Alone, Tenma, Albafica, Sisyphus, and Manigoldo!

The truth was very high expectations with this adaptation for the seriousness that this work took in what could be seen from the first installment of Lost Canvas and it keeps having those positive points such as animation and history but I feel that unfortunately under a step in when it comes to characters and overall enjoyment.
Now with this brief introduction let's take a closer look ...

Story: (7/10)

We continue with the journey of Tenma and company in search of the castle of Hades to stop the holy war, while the golden saints are the true protagonists of the ... program and have to fight against the greatest forces of the army of Hades.
So far so good and the story progresses at a slow but sure pace over its first chapters, unfortunately every time we get closer to the end of the saga, the battles begin to become super summarized and characterless as those of Capricorn vs " the 4 gods of time "or the greatest and most annoying example in my opinion," the battles between Hakurei vs Hypnos ", that Hypnos is supposed to be considered a very" god "like his brother Thanatos but that even many times we are even asked that Hypnos is far superior in not underestimating rivals and being careful unlike his twin. So how is it that he is suddenly defeated in just one move, and the battle against Thanatos was much tighter for the knights? It clearly doesn't make sense, but since they ran out of time they had to cut everything. Let's add to this fact the battle against Hades which is a key moment, and it only receives 10 minutes of the program that ends with a "death" of Dohko (which you actually know is not like that, since in SS he is still alive) and although leaves us a heartbreaking cry from Tenma I would have liked it to be more sentimental for the closing ..

Art (8/10)

I believe in this section it is still one of the pillars of the saga, since it creates a good impression on the viewer due to the fluid movements, and a good palette of dark colors to combine with certain moments of drama in the story.


Sound (7/10)

As in Art, it did not undergo too many changes unlike its first installment and particularly never or maybe it was only one, it was a memorable OST, when the universe of "SS" always got a great instrumental and OP. In particular I cannot get acquainted with either of the 2 but still consider that they approve


Characters: (7.5 / 10)

Here a little goes hand in hand with what I mentioned in the story, due to the lack of time there are characters who do not manage to get out of the golden hair and many others who only suffer a superficial development without too much effort at work as the case from Sisyphus, El sid and as Antagonist Hypnos. Excluding the previous ones, I consider that most of them fulfill their role well and without a doubt have been Manigoldo de Cancer and his teacher Sage of the most memorable of this saga.

Honestly, for a moment, a story was made a little slow and heavy but I knew that in the end it would be worth it, unfortunately when I reached chapter 13 I found only an open end of it and that clearly seem to have no intention of continuing this work, since that 9 years have passed since its broadcast, which bothers me a lot since it is a key adaptation related to the main series of "SS" and not to mention that with solids it had been proving to be the best of its universe for me.

La verdad tenia las espectativas muy altas con esta adaptación por la seriedad que se tomaron este trabajo en lo que se pudo observar de la primera entrega de Lost Canvas y conserva teniendo esos punto positivos como la animación e historia pero siento que desgraciadamente bajo un escalón en lo que respecta a personajes y disfrute en general.
Ahora con esta breve introduccion analizemoslo mas detenidamente...

Historia: (7 / 10)

Seguimos con el viaje de Tenma y compañía en busca del castillo de Hades para detener la guerra santa, mientras que los santos dorados son los verdaderos protagonistas del programa y tienen que combatir contra las mayores fuerzas del ejercito de Hades.
Hasta aquí todo bien y la historia avanza a un ritmo lento pero seguro sobre sus primeros capítulos, desgraciadamente cada vez que nos vamos acercan hacia el final de la saga, las batallas comienzan a tornarse super resumidas y faltas de caracter como las de Capricornio vs "los 4 dioses del tiempo" o el mayor ejemplo y mas molesto a mi parecer, "la batallas entre Hakurei vs Hypnos", que se supone que Hypnos es considerado un mismísimo "dios" como su hermano Thanatos pero que inclusive muchas veces se nos plantea que Hypnos es muy superior en no subestimar rivales y ser cuidadoso al contrario de su gemelo. Entonces, ¿como es que de repente es derrotado en solo un movimiento sin mas, y la batalla contra Thanatos fue mucho mas reñida para los caballeros? claramente no tiene sentido, pero como se quedaron sin tiempo tuvieron recortar todo. Sumemos a este hecho la batalla contra Hades que es un momento clave, y solo recibe 10 minutos de programa que finaliza con una "muerte" de Dohko (que en realidad sabes que no es así, ya que en SS continúa vivo) y si bien nos deja un grito desgarrador de Tenma me hubiera gustado fuera mas sentimental para el cierre..

Arte (8 / 10)

Creo en este apartado sigue siendo uno de los pilares de la saga, ya que crea una buena impresión en el espectador por los movimientos fluidos, y una buena paleta de colores oscuros para combinar con ciertos momentos de drama en la historia


Sonido (7 / 10)

Al igual que en el Arte no sufrió demasiado cambiados a diferencia de su primer entrega y particularmente nunca o tal vez solo fue uno, fue un OST memorable, cuando el universo de "SS" siempre obtuvo una gran instrumental y OP. En lo particular no puedo familiarizarme con ninguno de los 2 pero aun así considero que aprueban


Personajes: (7,5 / 10)

Aquí va un poco de la mano con lo que mencione de la historia, debido a la falta de tiempo hay personajes que no alcanzar a salir de los cabellos dorados y otros tantos que solo sufren un desarrollo superficial sin demasiado esfuerzo en el trabajo como el caso de Sisyphus,El sid y como Antagonista Hypnos. Excluyendo a los anteriores considero que en su mayoría cumplen bien su papel y mejor caballero sin dudas ah sido Manigoldo de Cancer y su maestro Sage de lo mas memorable de esta saga



Disfrute: (7,25 / 10)

Sinceramente algunos momento se me hizo una historia algo lenta y pesada pero que sabia que al final valdria la pena, desgraciadamente al llegar al capitulo 13 me encuentro solo con un final abierto del mismo y que claramente parecen no tener intenciones de continuar este trabajo, ya que han pasado 9 años de su emisión, lo que me fastidia bastante ya que es una adaptación clave relacionada a la serie principal de "SS" y sin mencionar que con solides venia demostrando ser lo mejor de su universo para mi persona.

I don't get why people voted so high for this anime...

The characters are bleak, at best, as well as the story. Stuff usually just...Happens, with like a brief explanation or 5 seconds of informing the viewer that it just happens, I guess?

It seemed interesting at first, with Hades + Athena's revival, but then the show just skips 2 years...Right off the bat? Now, I've seen this being done in Naruto, Fairy Tail, One Piece (the big 3) because, well, they have A LOT of episodes and time to explain characters/plots, etc., and they can (maybe) afford it (tho I still think it's one of the ... boldest and baddest moves generally made by anime/tv shows/movies), but to do it right off the bat in an anime like this...Well, there goes the character creation/struggle/progression part. And the "plot armor" employed more than a dozen times per episode really puts a strong emphasis on this.

All in all, 1/10, and it's more than this show deserves. This score is only based on the promise this show had at the beginning and the potential to make some very interesting and entertaining characters, but it failed miserably.
