Synopsis

In 2010, the Holy Britannian Empire invaded the small, far-east country of Japan. Within one month, the nation fell at the hands of Britannia's advanced war machines known as "Knightmares," and the country was renamed to Area 11.

After an explosion whisks her brother away to an unknown fate, Nunnally Lamperouge—exiled princess of Britannia—mysteriously finds herself in the midst of a skirmish between Britannians and terrorists. Crippled and blind due to past events, she is saved by Nemo, a strange talking doll who grants her a potent personal Knightmare and clairvoyance, also known as "Geass."

Despite the strength of her newfound abilities, Nunnally only wishes for peace. However, the appearance of more Geass users, the spectral vigilante Zero, and other violent forces make the harsh reality of the world all too clear for the fragile princess.

Being a huge Code Geass fan I started to read Code Geass: Nightmare of Nunnally from the same reason as most of you, because I was wondering what kind of alternate story could it be… I was thinking that maybe this manga continues the anime story, so there was no time to hesitate.

The entire story is centered on Nunnally and her actions. Everything starts when she accepts a Geass contract with Nemo and gains the ability to see in the future. After this, the story is focused on her fights against the Irregulators. But there is no tension in the story, the mecha ...

Mixed Feelings
This manga might be named "Code Geass", but it has almost nothing to do with the anime. I know it is an alternate story, but I loved the anime too much to be at ease with the changes they made to the story and the transformations of some characters. It doesn't make any sense to me, and the historical references are just... weird. The only goods points were the cute flashbacks, and it was interesting to see Nunnally as a main character.

Normally I tend to write detailed reviews but speaking as one who hasn't read the full Code Geass universe, all I can say is that there are many elements in this side story that makes it feel like a poor rushed adaptation.

Nothing horrifying but in many ways when a work cannot match up to the previous work but tries to be part of that universe, there are just elements that will make the disappoints worse.

However if you're wondering why my personal rating for Nunally is 10 and the overall is 3, this is because I read the scanlated letter of the person who made this ...
