Manga 31883 Ore To Atashi No Kareshi-sama

Story :7/10
"Ore to Atashi no Kareshi"'s story isn't the best story ever, but its' scenario is appropiate for a gender bender with 3 volumes. The whole story has its foundation on the bodyswitch of the twin-pair Hayate and Choko after falling down stairs in the midst of an argument.
Hayate, who's a sis-con apparently, doesn't want Choko to get a boyfriend and therefore tries his best to behave unappealing to Tsukiyono, the boy Choko confessed to. But it turns out, Tsukiyono seems to like Hayate's tsundere-like behaviour in ... Choko's body.
The story's very slapstick-like and can get quite ridiculous sometimes. You'll either facepalm in embarassment or laugh yourself out.
Shounen-Ai fans might root for HayatexTsukiyono and people who're not fan of that genre might be for ChokoxTsukiyono.

That's together 8 - 1 = 7 because of some unused potential in the last volume. It would have been better if there'd be four volumes in all. Too bad, the mangaka could have made more out of Subaru, who's suddenly introduced in the third volume. There also could have been more about Choko's glasses wearing girlfriend. But it's nice how the relationship between Choko and Hayate is portrayed. So the story's not all about romance you could say, but also about two siblings trying to understand each other more.

Art : 7/10
The art is appropiate for Shoujo and quite nice. The backgrounds aren't that special most of the time, but ok. Therefore it's a seven out of ten, because it's not my preferred art style, sorry.

Character : 8/10
The character's are quite typical, but still nice. There are also some very memorable characters like Yoriko-senpai who's part of the slapstick in this manga.
Choko's a very naive shoujo-typical heroine and Hayate's a male tsundere. This makes the body-switch even more fatal, for them, you could say.
Tsukiyono's also quite typical for shoujo-manga. He's that "refreshing nice guy" who doesn't have grudges against people and doesn't get angry just like that.
Hayate's a character I really like (he's actually my favorite of all in this manga).
He cares a lot for his sister and is a male tsundere, you could say.
Choko's Megane (Glasses) girlfriend is also a character I've seen in several shoujo-mangas. She's the quiet type who's supporting her friend. You sometimes don't know what she's thinking.

Subaru, introduced in the third volume (skip this part if you don't want to know) is the stereotypical prince type. I kinda liked him, so I was a bit disappointed that the mangaka didn't make more out of his character.
But this is comprehensible due to this manga's few volumes.

It was quite enjoyable. :'D
There's a lot of slapstick in this story and the whole gender bender genre is full of comedy anyway, so it's appropriate.
It's very funny how Hayate acts tsundere and tries to appear as weird to Tsukiyono,while Tsukiyono seems to find this adorable.

Overall 8/10 :
It was a fun read for me. I saw the first volume at the bookstore and thought " It might be interesting." I bought the volumes when each one came out. I already knew in the beginning that it would only be 3 volumes because of some manga news, so I didn't expect too much of this manga series. I just wanted a funny read to enlighten my mood.That's what I got and you may get by reading it.
I love gender bender and therefore it was worth purchasing it. If you also like gender bender really much, it's worth a try.
I think this also might be very appealing to shounen-ai readers because of this whole HayatexTsukiyono-thing. I have to admit that I'm more fond of this pairing because Choko seems to naive and dense at first.

For example, how she still tries to "seduce" Tsukiyono in Hayate's body. It might me out of desperation, but one appears stupid by doing something like this.
I don't hate her (she's quite cute) but it sometimes got on my nerves.

I recommend "Ore to Atashi no Kareshi-sama" to everyone who loves gender bender, slapstick or comedy overall and also to shounen-ai readers who might like hints of that genre in shoujo manga.
