Kobayashi ga Kawai Sugite Tsurai, or So Cute it Hurts, may not sound interesting from the given desciption of twins switching places. Mitsuru, the boy twin, goes to his sister's co-ed school, while Megumu, the girl twin goes to Mitsuru's all boys school, where they both run into "the ones."

Personally, I didn't know what to think of this manga, until I read it. I found the story very enjoyable to the point where I was laughing and getting the great heart throbbing feeling I love getting from shoujo manga and anime. The art is great and the comedic panels and the romantic scenes are very ... cute and heart warming.

For characters, I'll only talk about Aoi, only in the sense that I like that in this manga you do get the lead male protagonist's inner dialogue, which is very rare for a shoujo manga, especially with the cool and collected bad ass male protagonist.
The other characters I'l leave up to the reader, but in my opinion they are all lovable and very thought out.

Even though I'm only two volumes in, I know this manga will not disappoint any romance comedy lover. (o^_^)/

If i have to choose 2 things to describe this manga, it will be cute and chessy. Just like the title "so cite it hurts" this manga is just so so so cute. The character blushes all the time and it makes me love it even more because it just so cute. But it also cheesy at the same time. There are lot of cheesy things happening in this manga which i almost cant handle. But i think the word "cheesy" is appropriate in every shoujo manga, so just enjoy it and love it. Because manga without something cheesy will be kinda boring.

It's a simple manga, like everything that Go Ikeyamada writes. Very fun to read, full of tropes of manga and romance in general. I like the main characters and the romance is very simple, so if that's what you looking for, go for it. Full of nerd stuff like everything that the author usually does. Very fun to read, the characters are funny and you usually cheer for them.
Though, if you dont like cliched stuff, I suggest you to not read anything from Go Ikeyamada.
Her art its waaay too ....Idk how to explain, its too much sometimes, but its cute if you like it. ...
I like her works, so for me its fine, but I can understand why some people wouldnt like.

I've got to say this is my favorite manga. I've read up to volume 14 and I'm missing volume 15. But overall this manga is really good. It may sound or look boring but I recommend it fully. There's lots of romance in it to enjoy, sad moments to.

I loved to read this manga very much so I really would read it again. It's got to be about the only manga I have finished almost completely. But yes I recommend it to all otaku out there.

I'm hoping this review helps some people, and makes you want to read it. My reviews kind of ... suck but, if there encouraging people to try the manga out then that makes my review some what useful :)

I'm familiar with Ikeyamada Go's writting style and I'm very pleased with how much she grew over the years. This manga is much more mature and better written throughout. The fact that it tackles something very real in her life (and her staff's lives) are probably factors that helped in improving the quality of this manga she wrote.

I started reading it without expecting much because I considered Ikeyamada Go's ideas to be very repetitive, basic, sexist and outright problematic. I'm very happy to say that my expectations were 99% wrong and therefore this was much more enjoyable than what I initially thought. There's still ... problematic content but it's almost non-existent.

There are two main stories that are happening at once: the brother's story (Mitsuru) and the sister's story (Mego). Initially they are handled 50-50, meaning both are given the same amount of spotlight but eventually Ikeyamada Go focuses a lot more on Mego's side of things. This upset me because as someone familiar with several of her other mangas, this character and story mostly felt repetitive and unoriginal after chapter 24. Mitsuru's story for me was so much more interesting and I always wanted more spotlight on his side of things.

At the end it becomes obvious why Ikeyamada Go decided to portray Mego's side more often and in a more detailed way compared to Mitsuru's story. However, since I was really into the brother's side of things and the sister's story felt boring and bland to me, on a manga this long, it's unavoidable that I didn't enjoy reading several chapters.

Regarding characters, I think Mego is a copy paste of Ikeyamada Go's previous heroines. However she did an outstanding job with Asuza and her character development. I was also pleasantly surprised how some really big plot moments happened in the most epic way throughtout the story. Really memorable stuff that's definitely worth reading.

However a big flaw of Ikeyamada Go is her terrible habit of spoiling things before they happen and that occurred a few times unfortunately.

I definitely recommend people to give this manga a shot and stick to it because it's so worth it. The best compliment I can give is this: when I started reading, my expectations were as low as they could possible be because I disliked Ikeyamada Go's works prior to this. However, it immediately hooked me up in a way I never expected. I stayed up late almost 3 hours past my bed time because I just couldn't stop reading chapter after chapter. Now that I'm done with the whole manga, I can surprisingly say that I'm a fan of her work now. It took several years to get to this manga but I'm really happy that I decided to give another work of hers a chance.

It's full of tropes of manga and romance in general like everything that Go Ikeyamada writes. It's very fun to read and this manga is my favorite of all the manga that Go Ikeyamada writes, it's better written throughout. It may sound or look like boring/cliched stuff and nerd stuff like everything that the author usually does. There's lots of romance in it to enjoy, and sad moments too... I kind of feel relatable to Azusa's character a bit, I found the story very enjoyable to the point where I was laughing and getting the great heart-throbbing feeling I love getting from shoujo manga and ... anime. I loved to read this manga very much, and definitely re-read it. I suggest you do not read anything from Go Ikeyamada. Her art is basic, cute, sexy, etc well some of it was all ecchi/sexy stuff... i can't thank Go Ikeyamada enough for making this manga, hope that i can find more manga like this and very enjoyable like this one again.
