Synopsis

First-year high school student Kiri Koshiba is a skilled hairstylist. Whenever others are bullied or ridiculed for their appearance, she steps in to do some "magic," giving them makeovers that bring out their natural beauty.

At Kiri's school, three second-year students make up the popular Scissors Project (SP): Shougo Narumi, the hairstylist; Kei Minami, the nail artist; and Kazuhiko Ochiai, the overall beauty consultant. The SP selectively chooses one female student to makeover and produces amazing results every time.

When Kanako Aoyama, Kiri's childhood friend, confesses her feelings to Ochiai by giving him a present, she is accused of bribing her way into becoming the next girl for an SP makeover. Kiri comes to Kanako's defense and performs some "magic" on her, leaving the SP stunned at Kanako's transformation. Not knowing who is responsible, the SP searches for Kanako's hairstylist in order to have a haircutting showdown, the start of a rivalry between Narumi and Kiri.

One of my favourite manga, this is the second time I'm reading it and I love it sooooo much. I love the main character's dynamic. I will probably reread it again someday.

Art 9 - The artstyle is amazing - I loved the scenes in which they cut hair. The meme faces were hilarious.

Characters - 8 - The characters didn't change a lot but that's somewhat heart-warming. They went through a lot together and I love the way their connection got deeper. I love Kiri's parents and cat.

Story 9 - I didn't like the ending that much but it wasn't bad either.

Overall a cute ...

This has been on my "To Read" list for a very very long time and finally, I unleashed it today cause goddamn, my manga has been in drought lately lol! This manga was legit long winded for 51ish chapters but I friggin was entertained by the main characters such as Kiri's stoic attitude, along with Narumi's stupid over the top attitude. What I'm saying is that they are likeable characters.

Seriously tho, this manga is making me want to get a haircut again and yet I've only gotten it done a week ago lol. It was nice to read something different that revolved around hairdressing for ...

Mixed Feelings
I stayed for the fun characters but ultimately it felt like a lot of things went from unresolved to magically "fixed" to make it fit into an ending. The plot just kinda went nowhere in the end so I'm sad that in the 5 or so years it took to finish this manga a better plotline was not planned. The author themselves even mentioned the story was not progressing quick at around chapter 6!! That should have been my omen.

I might be salty because I'm tired of a story sorta concluding and then not really concluding but we get a huge time skip where ...
