This is an amazing manga that I will recommend first. You can feels tense and funny at the same times. It's not only about their romance story, but also showing us how people want to get peace. This manga tells us how nice it would be if racism and hostility between races did not exist in this world. and of course, a romantic story of two people whose countries are on ceasefire.

If you already read or watch any romances and school genres of anime/manga. you will like this because it is takes a new atmosphere for this genre where the situations in the story could ... happen to you too

"I know that many people have their opinion about a series but I will change that so we can bring harmony to the world!"

This entire sentence is the actual premise in the series. That someone is changing the world that they've lived in from past trauma or the future that never be touched in the entire generation. This is the story of Inuzuka Romeo and Juliet Persia that changes the world wrapped in this entire story. The author said that he loved the story of Romeo and Juliet then created this by lumping all other things that he loved.

The way the author paint ... this story is so good and not to mention they have not only a romance scene but also a battle scene! The comedic part too, the author really lump the entire premise of a story that is actually serious in every kind of wrapping so I can almost say this has a unique interest in my own opinion. We all have this literature on how romantic Romeo and Juliet is, but this story has it different. The romance part combined with the comedic part and of course, school type of literature and battle too. Isn't this exciting already? I do know that some of the series that we have before has put those entire things together but this is the far more superior version of it. The way the story goes is so good that made me actually feel riled, happy, blushed, and even cried. Of course, this is only within the scope of my own opinion but I do feel like someone might have the same thought as I do right?

Oh, the art. I felt that Kaneda-sensei really put anything at his disposal to make the scene in this series is a beautiful one. How romantic scenes feel through his art, how interesting we call some battle scenes and not to mention drawing some comedic skits to make his audience laugh. The art is absolutely top class from him.

Character, oh how misleading. I never knew what this character really means. If you ask about some characterization, the author really did well with it. And if you ask about character development, even better. I can't bring myself to choose between the two and just put it here anyway.

Lastly, I wanna tell you something that has been in my mind while reading and writing this. I do feel bad for not sticking to this sooner. I knew the series is ended back in 2018 and at the time I wrote this, It's not even a week after I decided to finish the series for good, and how embarrassed I am at my own past for not reading this sooner. But hey, it's been a pleasant ride after having myself convinced to finish the entire story and this is up there with the most decisive acts I've done in my whole life. Cheers.

I find a lot of enjoyment in this rom-com manga. When I stumbled this manga on social media I was pretty interested in the story and the name "Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet" or "Boarding School Juliet" because I have experience with boarding school.

The pure romance between Inuzuka Romio and Persia Juliet is so good that I kept reading it again and again, although the comedy is actually not bad. I expected a harem story with 2-3 character "loving" the main but surprisingly is not a harem and I was relieved about this. It's rare to see a pure rom-com manga with the ending this ... manga offers.

Honestly, In my opinion Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet is a fantastic manga that really stands out among other romcoms. I can recommend it if you're looking for some pure rom-com. 9/10

tl;dr: A manga about the development of bonds between a couple and those around them and how they change the world.

This manga takes a lot of cues from Romeo and Juliet. It’s about a prestigious school where students from two countries that are on terrible terms attend which results in the two groups of students seeing each other as enemies, but the hero, Romio Inizuka, and the heroine, Juliet Persia, fall in love anyway. Thus, as expected, a lot of people seem to compare them to the point of considering this a modern adaptation. However, this is fundamentally incorrect because they’re incredibly different works. The ... obvious difference from the beginning is that this isn’t a tragedy, it’s a rom-com with a decent amount of drama, so everything about it from the way it flows to the story itself are completely different and take nothing from the original. The other difference, of which there are hints of from the but that doesn’t really become clear until a good way through the manga, is that in the original the story was merely about two lovers that wanted to be together but couldn’t, this is the story about two lovers that wanted to be together and changed the world to accept their love. While romance is still a core aspect of the story, ultimately there’s a lot more to it than just that, and thus it is a very different kind of story.

Stories about change are generally pretty good with character and relationship development and this is no exception. The main couple both have good character and relationship development as they both strive to improve themselves for the purposes of their relationship and goals. The romantic development between the two for most of the story is just decent and is mainly carried by a few especially strong moments. However, these few moments are strong enough to hold their overall relationship arc very well, and thus it’s easy to get invested in them and their fate.

But just as importantly, or maybe even more importantly, is the bonds that they develop with the rest of the cast. There is a large cast of side characters with all sorts of different personalities and connections to the main couple. A lot of them are fleshed out quite well with their own backgrounds, motivations, and even character arcs, with many of them being incredibly likable and easy to get invested in. Over the course of the manga, the main couple develop close bonds with them through a variety of stories, and ultimately these bonds pay off in what feels like a really well built up to climax that was incredibly satisfying. I thought the manga would end there, but it keeps going quite a bit after that and more directly tackles the themes of hate between people and how to overcome that. It’s an incredibly simplistic and optimistic view, but I found it heartwarming nevertheless. And all that builds up to a finale that’s similarly too easy and happy, but still incredibly satisfying and perfect way to end things.

The main weakness of the manga I would have to say is its comedy. As this is a rom-com, the comedy is a core aspect, but in general the comedy in this isn’t all that great, just decent. It’s fine when the comedy is intermixed with storylines that have more substance as it works well to help with the pacing. But there are also portions that are focused solely on comedy that don’t contribute really at all to anything in the grand scheme of things which just felt like they were dragging on.

The art design is overall pretty great. The two factions have very clear visual codings which makes things easier to follow, and though it also limited what could be done with said characters, overall I still think the manga has really good character designs. The style also works pretty well for the story it’s telling, being somewhat shoujo-esque but with shounen like framing most of the time. The art quality too is overall solid.

Story:The plot it's super good, lile the story of Romeo and Juliet but this is something else, It's another version.. The original Story is Historical right but this manga is actually a modern one,thats makes this manga a fantastic!. and also this manga have a good plottwist.

Art:This manga have a nice art thats all I can say.

Character:The Character design is wonderful also, Hazuki, Perucia and the other female Character are so good and cute and of course the other male characters are cool too.

Enjoyment:I enjoy reading this manga.the Romantic scene ... and fight scene are so heavy and the jokes are well done.for me this manga is one of the enjoyable manga I ever read.

Overall:I love this manga, one of my favorite, its make me happy whenever I remember this, I super recommended this to you guys, and overall rate is 9/10/Hreat manga❤.

What I found fun about this manga is that well it's cliche, but it's a good kind of cliche, and it does enough variation on the formula and characters to make it interesting.

The manga basically is... well Rome and Juliet at a highschool, told mainly from Inudzuka Romeo's POV but while the world's not that well developed, the characters are done quite well.

Juliet Percia and Inudzuka Romeo aren't just simply rehashes of Rome and Juliet. They don't just go head over heels over one another. The manga does it's time to develop their history, develop how they fall in love, but not too ... long. They get the fact that they're interested in one another over with, which is very welcome. The story instead has focused on the two trying to against all odds, get to know each other better and have a normal relationship.

And despite the short number of chapters, the manga's so far actually avoided a lot of typical manga cliche traps despite the setup being cliche. It avoids the harem route, but also avoids the paragon route. There are many girls in Inudzuka's life, but while he's not 100% omg I can't even look at anybdy but Percia, he's devoted, but tempted. It's very human and good writing for a character.

It avoids Percia being a ridiculous tsundere. She is a bit tsundere, but it's an understandable shyness and awkwardness that comes from the fact that she and Inudzuka used to fight a lot.

It also avoids the "liar reveal everything goes terrible" trope. Inudzuka's not an idiot. Well, he is in some ways, but he has friends who don't do heel face turns once they find out.

All in all, the characters are good, the story is fun, a good manga.

well i really liked the aime as well the manga both and it was such a well written manga and only flaws i can find in it are that the author skipped the last year of their high school atleast he should have shown some moments that's why i gave it a 9 but keeping that aside it is very close to a masterpiece and it's one of my favourite manga's now
the story was good the characters were explained really very nice
the character romeo was best explained as how he always keep otheres before himself and is very bashful of persia and ... same i can say that for persia as she didn't show here emotions before but as she started spending more time with romeo she started showing her emotions more clearly than before whether it is form of love or any other emotions
the ending as very good as they atleast got together and it was very heartwarming to me as i feel very satisfied when couples in anime or even in real life get's together and i gave you a recommendations if you liked high school romance manga's give quintessential quintuplets a try there a lot of similarities now coming back to the the boarding school juliet what else i can say is that author you have my applauds for riting such a beautiful and marvelous manga and i would say please give it shot it truly deserves it to the fullest

This manga is very good, just saying it rn for people who are curious, now i will say the details more down below.
Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet(Boarding School Juliet in English) is obviously inspired by Romeo and Juliet forbidden romance by Shakespeare, since not only the name of the main characters are Romeo Inuzuka and Juliet Persia, but bc overall their romance wasn't allowed in their dormitory since bc the dormitory was splitted between two groups that hated each other bc their respective countries having a recent war. Black Dogs from Touwa country X White Cats from the West country, these two being in the dormitory ... of the Dahlia island.
Romeo being from the BD and Juliet from the WC, it wasn't too possible for them to build a relationship. But with their strong of will, through all of the manga they surpass everything that warms them to make this romance possible and to change the world by not making Touwa and the West hating each other anymore.
This being a rom-com and slice of life genres, we can ofc see some basic moments of life and comedy other than the main drama, such as they studying, talking normally and even goofy chapters that adds to comedy.
The characters are very neat. Romeo is a very strong-will being and a good person, this allowing to not giving up to his love; Juliet despite also being very strong, it's more rational than Romeo, but she accepts his confession to change everything and to be more strong. Both of them develop feelings and genuine love through the manga.
The side characters are very enjoyable too: Hasuki, Char, Scott, Maru and all the others add a lot of things to the drama, romance, comedy. it's very neat
The only criticisms i have is that the manga sometimes focus on comedy or drama so much, that some wholesome/romantic moments don't happen(like dates or kisses), they drag some romantic feelings to some side girls(like Teria) making some pointless chapters(not ruining the experience, just saying) and they could have explored the reason for the hate of the BD and WC and also the overall war, but in the end they don't make things explicit or didn't had a idea for a interesting drama and the resolving of the main drama.
But these are the only things that make this away from perfection, bc this manga is so fricking good, very worthing checking and re-reading

I cannot be happier after reading this Manga. Everything is executed perfectly.

First and foremost, the settings. Nothing is complete without the settings and this Manga kills it. Taking influences from Romeo and Juliet (Shakespeare) and combining it with our common highschool setting resulted in a magnificent setting.

Next is the story, everything from top to bottom is amazing. Not a boring, long storyline everything happens rapidly. From proposing, to oppositions, to making friends and making allies. Everything seems to ... be perfect.
Then the characters. They play a big part in the story and each and one of them have an unique touch to their personalities. Some are tough on the outside but weak on the inside, some are strict but loose, some are just pure chaos. Oh and did I mention an actual good antagonist. She's not annoying to watch, everytime she makes a move hypes me up and overall an amazing antagonist. The protagonist (or should I say Protagonists) work together very well, though I'm a bit sad that I do not have the chance to see their daily life after marrying (yes I know I am demanding a sequel but I'm not pressuring.)
Overall, an amazing experience reading this manga. I would love to read more of the same kind as this. Thanks for reading my pointless review.

Just as many have said - yes a lot of the things are quite cliche. So what? There is a reason why famous works such as Romeo and Juliet are still so frequently studied even at this point. Things could be overdone but we have to rememberthat there is a reason why they are overdone. That is not to say that this manga is cliche because it adds its own sweet touch to the cliche trope.

The beginning was a bit abrupt if I say so myself. I honestly didn't know why Inazuka liked Perucia until the very end of the manga, when it ... was finally revealed that Inazuka started falling Perucia's unbreakable resolve to keep fighting back and grow stronger, as contrary some spoiled noble brat. It is quite heartwarming when you think about it - Perucia was close to giving up, and Inazuka caused her to grow from a cry baby to the very person Inazuka fell in love with. Hasuki is honestly in quite a similar situation to Perucia, as she was also woken up but Inazuka and but instead she fights alongside with her. I really would say that both of them deserved Inazuka, but of course the story required Perucia and Inazuka to be a couple, and it turned out amazing.
Now I have only read it once (in the past few days) so my comprehension might still be lacking a bit, but I failed to really grasp Perucia's interest in Inazuka at the very start. Don't get me wrong, it was likely intended for their relationship and intimacy to build up along the way, contrary to the actual Romeo and Juliet story where they fall for each other crazily right off the bat. I like how the story developed their love, but the confession and Perucia's decision to go out with him seemed a bit... strange? Did she really like him in the first place? I am sure she doesn't hate him, since not once did she mention or show that she hated him, even before their relationship. In fact, she called him a rival. Rivalry is far from hatred as we know, and this often exists between close ones as well. Fair enough - they were close as rivals. But I didn't feel Perucia's interest in Inazuka honestly, and she likely realised from the start that this relationship is more likely going to be a drag in reaching her objective to change the world and inherit her household (I am going to re-read soon to understand the story more so I am going to post a second reflection at some point). However, of course, their love turned out not only being the symbol that broke down the walls between the black dogs and white cats, but ultimately a symbol for the harmony that could exist between the west and touwans. (Ok I have no idea but I am starting to tear up while writing that sentence, it's so beautiful, the ending was incredible).
Overall, characterization was amazing, especially for Inazuka and a few others, but honestly even near the end, I still couldn't connect with Perucia as much, but I still love those two with all my heart.

Now let's move on story development. The beginning would have been probably a 7-8ish (the part that was animated). It was sweet but, the lack of interest on Perucia's part before the confession made the sweet moments (such as the balcony scene where she says "I love you") that followed a bit...less captivating I would say. The story development is where this story improves to a good 9. The characterization is madely what made this manga so enjoyable. I didn't really hate anyone, which is rare for a manga. Usually I despise a few people from each anime or manga series, like Frederica from eighty six (I don't really "hate" her but I can't stand kids that run their mouths). Even as I was starting to hate Leon for her evil deeds, she turned out to be a wonderful person with a reason for her evil doings. Characterization for Leon was amazing as well - her backstory is both sad and heart-warming. Perucia's meetings with Inazuka were always interrupted and cut-short, but it always ended up even sweeter. Perucia going to Touwan is where I first start to really connect with Perucia and feel her love for Inazuka. Especially that chapter where Perucia was leaving for the West and decided to take a detour. I knew Perucia wanted to explore Touwan more and spend a bit more time with Inazuka before leaving, but that ending of that chapter where she jumped and hugged him as the train was ready to depart - that was one of the most heart-warming moment in this manga imo where she said "I wasn't satisfied" with paint of red blush on her small little cheeks. This happens quite often in anime or manga series, but I just seem to never have enough of these moments <3. How Perucia was revealed to Airu and the Inazuka's family was amazing, Airu's realization of his wrong obsession over the Inazuka family name was amazing. Overall, prior to the first climax of the prefect election, their trip to Touwan was very memorable to me.

Alright let's move on the first climax, which I also would like to give a 9/10. "Sorry Juliet", "No need to apologise Romio" - man. Chiwa san's words, their lack of regret - it taught me a great lesson. It is not the first time I have heard things such as "never regret the fun times, no matter how it turned out". This is true for many life lessons in general - you hear it countless of times across countless platforms and from a variety of different people. It matters most how the lesson resonate with one. I throw most life lessons out right away most of the time, or I don't care for it after hearing it. This lesson stuck with me and I don't know why. This might be temporary but, my exams are approaching, I am in my final year of high school - in fact, tmr I literally my last day of high school. I have been sad, who wouldn't be. But honestly, I am glad I ended high school with this - for the good, fun, and embarrassing times - I have no regrets. I am glad I met the amazing people over the past few years and I have undergone plenty of hardships. In that end, I have no regrets.


The true jewel and that 10/10 is reserved for the last two volumes. Another trip - ah yes I do love me some trips. Their wedding was beautiful. They effectively showed how everyone's life turned out, all the important support characters as well. I love them so much for doing this. I can't stress how many times a good manga ended up by only focusing on the main characters without telling us how some of our other favourite people are doing. Aby and Somali's children- wholesome. Scott being Char's dog was also a really nice chuckle. Cybearrrr and that annoying ass cait was really wholesome too. And of course as mentioned, Leon and Hasuki turned out amazing too. I just haven't had enough of this. Oh man. I just can't. If I could see how all of them turned out after Perucia and Inazuka got married, that would even be better. Just like Karakai-Jouzu no takagi san moto, so wholesome ~~~!

Anyways, I don't even know what am I writing. This is not very cohesive because I am just putting my thoughts down as I reflect on this story. I am definitely gonna re-read this manga.

This manga is amazing; I loved it. The modern take of Romeo & Juliet was super intriguing (although not as much as the Leonardo DiCaprio movie), and I ended up loving it. The ending ended up being about 95% fulfilling for me; not many manga have great endings. The humor is at times hilarious and at times bitterly unfunny (aka "funny" perverted situations), but in my case this can be easily overlooked.

It's pretty fast-paced for a manga of its length, and not exactly a slow build of romance. Personally, I ended up liking the side characters more than the main characters. It's a problem ... that I think most manga of this kind end up with, where there's only so many ways you can make romance intriguing, so you have to rely on side characters to intervene, or even make them into the main characters for a bit. I know that there's some people who hate side characters and just want to see main characters, though, and I understand that. I'd much rather see side characters than see the same blushing or love triangle situation for the 100th time.
