Ahead of the franchise's tenth anniversary in October, the Psycho-Pass Special Livestream Program announced a new anime movie on Sunday, titled Psycho-Pass: Providence. The event also revealed a teaser visual (pictured).

Naoyoshi Shiotani, the director of the franchise, is returning to helm the movie at Production I.G. Toho Visual Entertainment is in charge of the distribution.

The original 22-episode Psycho-Pass anime series debuted in Fall 2012, followed by an 11-episode second season by Tatsunoko Production in Fall 2014. The Psycho-Pass anime movie opened in Japan in January 2015.

The Sinners of the System movie trilogy, each centering on characters from the franchise, premiered in January, February, and March in 2019.

Psycho-Pass 3, the third television anime, aired in eight 45-minute episodes in Fall 2019. The Psycho-Pass 3: First Inspector sequel screened for two week in theaters in March 2020. Amazon's Prime Video platform simultaneously streamed the edited version in three episodes.

Psychopass franchise is like your extremely talented friend who later keeps failing in life due to insufficient effort and makes you angry and disappointed, but you still can't hate them because they are your friend and your loyalty lies with them.

Maybe I'm just easy to please but I've loved everything Psycho-pass so far and I doubt I'll be disappointed with this one. I'm looking forward to it.

I personally enjoyed it a lot too! The first season was the best, but I still really like the other seasons and movies! So i'm also excited to see there is more Psycho Pass happening!

NOTHING CAN CONTAIN MY HYPE RIGHT NOW

I wish it was another TV season but oh well, I'll take whatever I can get....Just hoping that we also get the S3 leads in this film too because they really grew on me and I loved how they played off of the OG cast

Very good news. Psycho Pass was always unique as a show even if it got ruined a little later.

this franchise is so good I like it I'm also a fans , as we see in the booster the Arata's father so the movie will be placed between the trilogy of sinners of system and s3 , we'll see also the brother of Kei and why kogami and the others work for gouverments , how died arata's father and kei brother . I'm so exited for the movie

It'll be fun to see Kogami and Akane together again.

Loved first season to death back when I watched it for the first time, but given how miserably things turned up in later parts just can't help but be skeptical about this new movie too.

Wow perfect timing. I just finished watching the First Inspector sequel. While this series will never reach the peak of season 1, I found season 3 decent. Arata was a bit more on the OP side, but I generally enjoyed his character as well as the others.

Bringing the full OG from season 1 back into the center stage is a big plus for me.

I honestly don't know where this adaptation is going anymore. I was so lost when I watched the trilogy and I'm not sure if watching this movie will make it any better. Not a smart move for the studio.
