Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures opened an official website for the television anime adaptation of Yuu Okano's Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha (The Unwanted Undead Adventurer) light novel on Saturday, unveiling the main cast, staff, a teaser promo, and a teaser visual (pictured). The anime is set to air in 2024.

Okano began penning the adventure fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in September 2016. Overlap began printing the novel with illustrations by Jaian in October 2017. The 12th volume shipped on May 25. Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha has a cumulative 2 million copies of its light novel and manga volumes in print, including digital editions.

Haiji Nakasone began drawing a manga adaptation on the Comic Gardo website in November 2017. Overlap released the 11th volume on May 25.

J-Novel Club licensed both the light novel and manga adaptation in English in February 2018 and April 2019, respectively. The 11th novel volume and ninth manga volume went on sale on June 22 and in December last year.
