Darling in the FranXX is basically the same as Shingeki. In both worlds humanity is struggling for survival inside man made barriers that prevent giant monsters from destroying everything. The peaceful life of the protagonist is drastically changed when the outside world collides with his own, he then joins a military like group that frequently goes outside, makes friends and discovers more about himself and the lies of the government. I could actually tell the whole story and you couldn't tell which one I am talking about. I hope I didn't spoil it much but you can figure all of this on the first episode, so yeah enjoy.

Everyone trapped in a closed space where no one has any information about what is outside.. Bad people are within the closed space.. Soldiers are send to fight outside with high tech machines.. They fight from man eating monsters.. One of the teammate is similar to the monsters they are fighting..

These two anime have teenagers that are train to project humanity. They both focus on action and humans fighting giant monsters using unconventional weapons.
