There are striking similarities with these two anime shows. The stories are about a set of students in an isolated academy, who are striving towards being the sole (class or alone) graduate by either killing other students or having them expelled. The main female leads are seemingly cold-hearted people who remain calm but are accommodated with flaws, in spite of wanting to appear perfect. There are characters who bear a wide range of personality traits such as being gentle or cold. Both anime give the similar atmosphere & situation where the elite students thrown to the situation they never expect before. Both have unique characters & plot.

- mysterious elite high school - perceptive main characters, who solve riddles at the school - Suzune and Kyouko are exactly the same with the difference that Suzune is some kind of tsundere - same director, same studio
Both are elite schools and had a certain condition to achieve something, in this anime it would be to get 100,000 points every month but grades has to stay or be good and attendance too, in danganronpa it would be to leave the school but only one will leave (it not really clear but I will give spoilers if I go in dept in what that means). The only thing is Danganronpa has more mystery and also has murder (Great anime).
