Similar frenetic art pacing and flashy combat. TTGL does everything Soul Eater does but better and with a little more adult flair to the story.
Loud, full of itself, and way over the top... I love it. Both also are full of powerful mixed emotions.They have nothing directly in common, but they both strongly remind you of the other. TTGL tends to focus more on the silly stuff early and then gets very serious while still being a little silly and way over the top later on. SE Is silly but cool from start to finish, some parts are more serious than others. Both of these are one hell of a ride so sit back and enjoy.
Even though those shows are not very similar, i feel like they appeal to the same kind of audience. Both are funny as hell, with a good mix of plot and action. However, gurren lagann is crazier and funnier, while soul eater has a better plot and better constructed super-powers system.
Both series are high energy fast paced stylish action,visuals and art and lots of wild comedy in it as well too and both feature lots of strange shit happening from time to time as well too.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Soul Eater aren’t too similar in plot, but the over the top action and art style are very similar. Both anime also have a similar soundtrack as well (same composer). Soul Eater is much longer, however.
