Both are science-related informational anime with characters that use a lot of dark humour.
SCIENCE!! While the stakes are much lower in Moyashimon (making sake vs. restoring humanity), both shows take scientific concepts and make them fun by incorporating them into the plot DNA.

Even tho the premise are very different both have quite a lot in common. They are very focuss on learning and give quite a lot of explication on the science they do in a way the people at home can understand but they dont do it in a infatile mather so a older audience can still apreciat it without feeling like a child. They also often use the aprentice and the master set up to ease in the explanation.
