If you need a series to watch, I'd seriously recommend Idolish7. It's very underrated here in the West/USA especially, but very popular in Japan only because they tend to watch more idol-like anime. The only difference between this and other boring like idol anime is that this one has good plot that you'd get hooked on from the very start. The first season starts slow with very cute funny moments (so worth watching tho), but once you get into season 2, the drama and suspense gets very real JUST LIKE HOW FRUITS BASKET DID IT! Both series start with a simple synopsis but believe me, both gonna give you more than you expect, no matter how your expectations are. Also both gonna have more plot and development in the second season but the first one is good too.

In both series its first season is kinda slow, but it's really really worth it to watch, both are amazing and have a lot of good drama and a charming cast.

These two dramas can gave you chills at some moments, also both gonna give you a surprise because they're more than it looks for the surface. Also in both series you're gonna find tropes of characters but they're gonna develop as the plot goes.

Seriously these are two of the best dramas of all time to me. Both start with a generic plot but the construction of this show, little by little, is amazing and mesmerizing to watch. Both series have charming and colorful characters with depth and develop for the future.
In both series even when it doesn't look like their strongnest are the drama and the plot. Their charming characters development in both is amazing, everything goes little by little and have memorable moments. Also in both series there's comedy that balance the darker topics, so is gonna be an enjoyable rollacoaster.
Both shows are the introduction of what the shows really meants to be, but besides that the season is good enough to like most of the characters, both have well executed dramatic scenes and both have comedy that balance the drama in the shows too.
Both animes have in common the develop of their plots, they start as a cute funny and silly anime but as the episodes pass the plot starts revealing. The characters have an appeal personality specially for women, so i think everyone who liked one anime can like the other one too
The stories in both shows are a bit similar, focusing on the characters' past and the struggles they have in the present as well. Both series mix comedy with dramatic moments pretty well, they don't feel forced and you can really empathize with all the characters, plus they give each of them their own space for development.
