Both are fluffy bubblegum isekai fantasy with OP nice guy protagonist. The way they do "diplomacy" and "politics" is so simplified and it just works out easily that kinda breaks suspension of disbelief. Slime has better story, Smarthphone has harem.

In both series, the MC is extremely powerful. Another similarity is that both of the MCs are reincarnated in a different world, and we also have a harem in both series. The only major difference is that the MC in "That time I was reincarnated as a slime" was reincarnated as a slime and not as human (like In Another World With My Smartphone)

Both feature MC that died suddenly and got transferred to a fantasy world. Both MCs gain new skills throughout their journey and slowly become stronger and stronger. Both MCs care about others around them and will protect them at all costs. Both MCs are extremely well respected, which as a result attract girls romantically.
