Both involves certain situation where the characters found themselves in a predicament where SURVIVAL is not just the name of the game but also to thrive as they live on.

Both share the same kind of "survival" feeling and their plot revolve around some kind of incident that happend to the human species that made them be in this kind of survival setting. Kanata no astra spends more time deepening into the characters bonds and showcasing the worlds they travel throgug while Dr. stone is more of a shounen anime where you have got the classic Good characters vs bad characters and so forth. Both animes are really enjoyable to watch and will catch you off guard with some of the plot twists.
Both survival stories with very optimistic themes and some mystery sprinkled in to keep things interesting.

Similarities: 1. The same character scenario, where they have to use their wits if they're gonna survive. 2. Same situation where the group was also at threat from one of their own. 3. Same story plot where the unexpected has happen, that puts the character in their respective predicament. Dissimilarities: 1. While one was compose of a group of 9, the other was more like a trio (for now) whom were up against a wanna be dictator. 2. The setting were different in which one was set in some futuristic world , while one was set in some rebooted stone age era. 3. The people in one
