These shows went hand in hand in the 90's and early 2000's as the go to popular children's anime both containing a plethora of amazingly designed monsters with beautiful art styles and character designs. Both shows follow young protagonists who battle/duel opponents with these monsters and aim to be the best in their field. They both have huge multi-media influence with masses of video games, card games & movies spawned from the original shows. The art style, characters, OST, humour & world building are all top notch in both of these classic shows.

In both anime, there is a young protagonist who sets up to become the best at his field: Yugi tries to become the best duelist, while Ash tries to become the best Pokemon trainer. Also, in both anime, the main character engages in duels with other characters using their monsters: in Yu-Gi-Oh!, the monsters are summoned through cards, while in Pokemon, the monsters are summoned through Poke Balls. Both anime show the adventures of these characters as they make new friends, but also new rivals.

Both are high energy duel themed action anime with friendship,cool designs for characters and creatures and lots of cool art as well too.

These shows went hand in hand in the 90's and early 2000's as both were aired on Kids WB and Cartoon Network back in the day. They both teach about friendship and the importance of teamwork. They both got amazing dubs by 4kids Entertainment with stellar New York dub voice acting and dub music that will be memorable.
