Both anime have a character that have difficulty with verbal communication so they use hand sign and written to communicate.
This is similar to Yubisaki to Renren because both of the female MCs have trouble communicating with others verbally. YtR MC is completely deaf, while Komi has extreme social anxiety. Because of their inability to speak, they use other means to communicate with others, such as hand writing, writing, texting, etc. YtR has more romance than Komi though.
