Both anime are based on famous video game franchises and focus on a young boy and his animal companions, who embark on a quest. Both show the main characters making new friends and fighting their foes t reach their goal. Both have similar mood and humor, and are targeted to the same audience (aka young children).

Both are focused around a charming group of friends getting involved in strange antics with animals with special unique powers to them and villains that of course would want to take over the world if they had the chance.
