Tired of watching the same cliche isekai fantasy anime with overpowered protagonists over and over again? Tegamine Bachi and Made in Abyss are two amazing fantasy anime without isekai setting. In both anime a young boy and a girl go on the adventures of their lifetimes in a beautiful, yet dark fantasy world, both underground (?). The worlds are full of mysteries which slowly unravel during the anime. Also both anime have some sad moments. Both are HIGHLY recommended to watch.
Both shows involve orphaned kids who venture to find a lost person they care about and look up to, have beautiful art, great characters, have a unique fantasy world with sci-fi elements while also having fun and emotional moments. Made In Abyss is alot darker than Tegami Bachi but if you liked one, then you will most likely like the other.
