Similar vibes, settings, and characters. They are both a bit ridiculous (in a good way) and feature varied characters. Durarara is more episodic in nature, and is often a bit harder to follow due to it's hectic storytelling and directing, but both deliver great urban action and world-building.

Ensemble cast of criminals with great friendship, rivalries, and chemistry. Both take place in cities full of underground secrets, identities, alliances, and powers at play.

This show is like a poor man's Durarara. If you liked the setting, the large ensemble cast and the mystery/thriller genre then watch Durarara, it won't disappoint.

The whole time I watched Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens I was reminded of Durarara. Both anime is about a city (Durarara is about Ikebukuro and Hakata Ramens is about Hakata) and focuses on the crimes, gangs, hitmen of the city. Both anime have the same vibe going on. But Hakata Ramens is off the common sense when it comes to the day to day activities of the city, specially the hitman business. Durarara is more on supernatural. Durarara has a more light theme. I can't say you will love Hakata Ramens if you loved Durarara. The setting and the vibe may be similar, but Durarara has

It's like Drrr, except with a better pacing and genuinely hilarious dialogues+settings. We have a bunch of individuals in a big city, who possess special skill sets that they use to make money, have fun or simply defend themselves from outside forces. Everything that happens to our MCs, keeps overlapping with what happens to the rest of the cast, creating situations that keep you on your toes and go,"What the fuck??"

Seeing the first episode of Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens I couldn't help comparing it with Durarara, both have the same style.

We`ve got hitmen+gangsters in Durarara and hitmen in Hakata. If you like big cities, pulsing life of them and the atmosphere of metropolis then it is for you. You deal with "ordinary" people, these who observe the city day and night and get her running, not some kind of social elite in isolated luxury districts.

Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens has a serious subplots about many likable characters, similar to Durarara. If you like action anime with a few surprises as well as a few laughs, a great soundtrack and stylish animation. then give this show a run. It only has 12 episodes (unless they release a sequel later on), but it's definitely something you can relax and get a kick out off.

Both are very similar in the sense that there is no main plot, action everywhere, take place in the city, and have a similar set of characters.
