If I'm not wrong the mangaka of SKET Dance was once Gintama's mangaka assisstant. While they use the same two boys and one girl in a jack-of-trades business setting, their background story are totally different. One being a samurai age but invaded by aliens and the other being a normal high school setting. But their use of comedy are similar and the characters are beautifully written.

Author of Sket Dance was assistan of Gintama artis. They have similiar great humor and stories have similiar character setup but they are in totally different world.
Both are comedy Series and are centred on the "missions" of a group of 3 characters

The protagonist trio is very similar, a useless leader, a nerd/otaku character with glasses and a strong and brute girl. Both use the same kind of comedy, full of stupid situations, parodies to other mangas, animes, TV dramas, famous people, etc. They use a lot of auto-critic to their own manga and a deconstruction of the manga structure and typical elements. The artwork is very similar and both have predilection for epic and funny faces.

There's a similar degree in style and humor between Sket Dance and Gintama. Both series' main male protagonist also has a similar personality as observed in a lot of their daily live activities. Throughout both series, Sket Dance and Gintama focuses on a variety of subjects but always crafts clever humor with references, gags, and other satirical themes. Gintama does have some story arcs though while Sket Dance also has a humorous way of storytelling. And although the setting of both series are drastically different, they retain their humor wherever the story takes it to be.
The author of Sket Dance used to be the assistant of Sorachi Sensei(Gintama author) Thus ,They have similiar great humor,storyline, and similiar characters setup but they are in totally different world. Because there aren't any aliens invading Japan in Sket Dance . To sum this up, Sket Dance is a high school life about Switch,Himeko,Bossun helping other troubled people with their problem for free. The club name is sket dance. The characters in this manga have a dark past . Gintama is about Gintoki,Kagura,Shinpachi helping other people with their problems for a payment to pay their rent . But usually they will help people even
You want something to read that has everything? Drama , comedy , friendship great plots, interesting backstories. The plot is about three people who help other people and end up creating a larger cast of characters. They're known as hyper comedy series and they live up to their names. There's slight hint of romance but the main plot is about how they live as friend. There's some serious arcs in it.
