Two series about characters with memories of our world trying to make the mediaeval-style world they find themselves in a better place to live (the world of Fushi no Kami seems somewhat earlier mediaeval than that of Honzuki no Gekokujou). Both characters are very much forces of nature, reshaping the world around them constantly and dragging along those around them in their quest to reshape their worlds. And both use knowledge obtained from books to get to their goals.
