Along with that gimmick, there's also a decent amount of comedy, plot development, and character relationships. Throughout both series, we see how the main characters develop through their experience with other characters, flashbacks, and the conflict they deal with in the present and future.

This Manga series both revolve around people turning into weapons and their relationship with their partner. Characters are fun and they both revolve around defeating a big obstacle.

Soul Eater and Noragami both involve human weapons and gods (shinigami in Soul Eater’s case) and both have a similar style of action and comedy. Some of the characters are also similar as well (Yato is similar to Soul, and Hiyori is similar to Maka). The biggest differences are the art style and the fact that Noragami is ongoing (at the time of this recommendation’s writing) while Soul Eater is finished. Both are very good, and I think a fan of one would like the other.
