- ANIME THAT WERE HERE BEFORE THEY AIRED (and how I feel about them) -

Pluto _ Masterpiece

PHOENIX: EDEN17 _ It was good, But honestly, didn't leave up to the hype I put on it. A definitive L on my part.

Great Pretender: Razbliuto _ I have yet to see it, and that is true for too many people. This had horrible marketing.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End - It is literally the highest rated anime on the website

The Apothecary Diaries - Fantastic show

The Grimm Variations - It was pretty good, but I'll call it a miss, cause It wasn't anything mind blowing

Kingdom Season 5 - I mean, I haven't seen it, but from the score it seems like a hit to me
Isekai Suicide Squad
TV, 2024, ? eps Me:- Author:-
If you're anything like me, the name studio WIT on it's own would be enough to make a show worth watching, but then you also slap an idea as absurd as suicide squad in another world to it, with an absolutely breath taking teaser, and now you have most people completely sold.

it's also by the same duo that brought us vivy, which despite it's simplicity and time travel plot holes, did a lot more things right than it did wrong.

the final sell being the fact the character designs are perfect. joker looks creepy in the best way possible, and Harley is hot as shit.
Uzumaki
TV, -, 4 eps Me:- Author:-
the most beloved work of the most beloved horror author in the manga industry, getting a seemingly godly adaptation. the teasers seem like manga panels come to life, and the music is simply perfect.

You don't really see more experimental artsy projects like this get fantastic levels of animation often. I would compare it Wit studio's The Girl From the Other Side or Angle's egg.

Not that it looks exactly like them, but all of these have a certain pencil drawing come to life, aesthetic, I'll be in different ways, that at least to me is beyond stunning.
Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 3
TV, 2024, 11 eps Me:- Author:-
an absolutely amazing comedy with some of the best character dynamics you can find in anime. konosuba has only been getting better and better as it goes on. and despite the many studio changes, the animation has also been somehow improving.

so chances are, this is going to be more of the same greatness, if not a new high for the series.

The Megumin spin off while probably the weakest part on it's own, I believe added a lot to her character, which adds so much to so many of her scenes in the main series retroactively, which should apply to this newer season as well.
One Punch Man 3
TV, -, ? eps Me:- Author:-
it's one punch man. as long as they don't make the same mistake as season 2, it's going to be great. the manga is going stronger than ever according to it's readers, and this legendary title has already proven to be both a great comedy, and a great action series.

In addition, season two ended halfway through a massive arc, so there is also a layer of anticipation for finally seeing that arc through to the end.

The studio IS still JC staff, but from the teaser, the quality seems to have drastically improved, we'll have to see though.
Golden Kamuy: Saishuushou
TV, -, ? eps Me:- Author:-
the final season of a widely beloved and highly acclaimed series

Golden kamuy is one of the only shows I know of, with an author chad enough to give every character an official dick size. From my understanding, the adaption started on the shakier side with the infamous CGI bear, but has been getting better and better over time.

That aside, the fact that it's actually ending is also a massive selling point. there aren't that many multi-season anime out there that end up getting full adaptations.
Ookami to Koushinryou: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf
TV, 2024, 25 eps Me:- Author:8
one of the most beloved romance anime/manga ever made, getting a remake.

And kevin penkin of all people is doing the music?

with the director of the old series themselves getting a chance to start working on it again?

I genuinely don't see how this can possibly be NOT amazing.

POETNIAL HOLO NIPS BECAUSE IT'S BY PASSIONE?

Edit: we didn't get Holo nips :C
Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica Movie 4: Walpurgis no Kaiten
Movie, 2024, 1 ep Me:- Author:-
after the cliff hanger ending of rebellion, this is a dream come true for every madoka fan. having the staff back and knowing the script was written when rebellion came out, gives me confident that it can be just as good, if not even better than the rest of the series.

Madoka magica is by all means a classic, and for me personally, rebellion is one of my all time favourite movies. It's atmosphere and mystery writing is beyond perfection. And the character writing is absolute peak across both the series and rebellion.

The soundtrack alone would be enough to make me one of my most anticipated anime, I would place the madoka magica soundtrack as one of my favourites in anime, only being second to made in abyss.
Beastars Final Season
ONA, 2024, ? eps Me:- Author:-
the final season of Beastars, the show with some of the best CGI, music, and character writing anime has ever had.

Orange has been drastically improving the visuals project after project, and they are one of the few studios that have only gotten better and better over time.

Season 2 to me was a slight downgrade to it having less romance, but even with that it still ended up being of my favourite anime in 2021, which was a STACKED year of anime.

And as I said with golden kamuy too, multi-season anime rarely get an ending. specially the ones that aren't complete block buster mega hits. So that is also a massive selling point.

New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt
-, -, ? eps Me:- Author:-
triggers new show, and a unexcepted sequel to their wildly beloved show back at ginax.

Panty and stocking is too so many, a core memory of their childhood, and is to japan, what castlevania is to the west. It replicates American cartoons, while still having that distinct anime vibe to it.

It's also famous for having one of the most beloved dubs out there.

and the show in general is just a massive passion project from trigger. And believe me when I say passion projects like this are always experiences worth having!
Made in Abyss: Retsujitsu no Ougonkyou (Zoku-hen)
-, -, ? eps Me:- Author:-
masterpiece season 3, is going to be the next entry in the greatest adventure anime ever made, which will give us more of the best soundtrack in media. both of these lines are objectively true, with 0 bias and you can not convince me otherwise.

Genuinely though, made in abyss at least to me has been only getting better and better as it goes, and is genuinely what I believe to be best ongoing series as of now BY FAR.

And honestly I don't think we're even half way through the entire story.

There are very few series that I can say this about, but I believe made in abyss CAN top steins;gate and become my favourite piece of media.
Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction
Movie, 2024, 2 eps Me:- Author:-
an adaptation of a widely beloved and highly acclaimed manga.
Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun 2nd Season
TV, -, ? eps Me:- Author:-
if you're remaking an already mostly liked adaptation of a popular and highly acclaimed manga, you probably have a good reason for it.

Edit: apparently it's a season 2, I'm not going to go back on my word and delete it, but this make me slightly less confident in it being as good as I thought.
Yuru Camp△ Season 3
TV, 2024, 12 eps Me:- Author:-
more yuru camp.

I was told I need to write more about these if I want make a stack like this public, but like.... wtf am I suppose to say about yuru camp?

It's one of the most comforting, atmospheric, and relaxing anime out there. It's like a warm hug at the end of a hard day that I genuinely believe anyone can enjoy.
"Oshi no Ko" Season 2
TV, 2024, ? eps Me:- Author:-
Season one was already amazing, but word is around that the content that will be covered later on is even better than what we got. and I really can't see a world where this gets a bad adaptation going forward.

with it being announced instantly, I seriously doubt they are going to change the way the show is adapted.
Kuroshitsuji: Kishuku Gakkou-hen
TV, 2024, 11 eps Me:- Author:-
the black butler aesthetic is kinda perfect for cloverworks. outside of season 2, black butler has been only getting better and better according to it's fans, and I can absolutely see this following that pattern.

Plus we can get more John Michael Tatum as a main character, Who is probably my favourite English anime voice actor.
Lazarus
-, -, 13 eps Me:- Author:-
Do I even need to explain?

it's an anime original directed by Watanabe, and the trailer looks godly good.

For those of you who don't know (somehow) Watanabe is the guy who directed/created: cowboy bebop, samurai champloo, and Space dandy. He was also a producer of sonny boy, which should tell you he knows what is good shit worth investing in.

Some people just have such a golden track record, that their name alone can sell a show. Watanabe is definitely one of those people.
Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze-hen
Movie, -, 1 ep Me:- Author:-
CSM already had movie quality production value, but now with it getting an actual movie and apparently this being a fan favourite arc that is far better than anything we saw in s1, I could not be more excited.

There is probably going to be a director change, which I am.... fine with.

I didn't have any problems with the direction of season 1, and honestly actually liked the fact that it tried to be more cinematic than most other anime.

I just don't think the director was that impressive at doing it. He wasn't bad or anything, but I've seen that style of directing done much better.

So... My opinions on the director, weren't really positive or negative, just natural. But change is exciting, and I want to see how the new guy handles things.
Dandadan
TV, 2024, ? eps Me:- Author:-
This is a pretty decent example of "might be your favourite mangaka's favourite manga".

This is a generally highly acclaimed series, that the people who seemingly know the most about writing call it a masterpiece. I haven't read it, but that along with science saru and a very strong staff backing up the production, makes it so there is very little doubt of this already being an anime of the year contender.

But if you aren't convinced by that, you surely will be by the extremely well animated, stylish, weird and over the top trailers.
Mushoku Tensei II: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu Part 2
TV, 2024, 12 eps Me:- Author:-
With the previous arc apparently being one of the weakest, it's hard to see this series go anywhere but upwards. mushoku tensei has already proved it's a great fantasy.

And It is far from revealing all it's cards at this point in the series. With legendary production being along side it, it's only a matter of time before a climactic arc happens, and forever marks mushoku tensei as one of the best fantasy anime out there.

The world may be billy's first dnd campaign, but it's billy's first dnd campaign built to perfection.
Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu 3rd Season
TV, 2024, ? eps Me:- Author:-
As someone who isn't even the biggest re-zero fan, I would be blind to ignore the sheer love that the following arcs of the story have gotten. If this adapts arc 6, and that arc is even close to as good the fans say it is, we may have a modern classic at our hands.

now, that is a pretty big "if", but I choose to be optimistic.
NieR:Automata Ver1.1a Part 2
TV, 2024, ? eps Me:- Author:-
Even with only a decent adaptation, the following section of the story is simply amazing. As long as the music and story are the same, this could not be anything but masterful.
Guimi Zhi Zhu
ONA, 2025, ? eps Me:- Author:-
Just watch that damn trailer. this shit sells itself, absolutely mind boggling level of production value, comparable to shit like arcane. The source is wildly beloved don't get me wrong, but you could stick these visuals on actual turd and it would still be a must watch.
Mononoke Movie: Karakasa
Movie, 2024, 1 ep Me:- Author:-
A sequel to the cult classic horror masterpiece of anime, that has one of the most stylish art styles you will see in any animated series.
Dungeon Meshi
TV, 2024, 24 eps Me:- Author:9
Admittedly I forgot to add this before it started airing, but come on, the first episode came out yesterday, cut me some slack.

If anything, I think it should be here because it's score which is as of now a 7.72 will be much, much higher by the time it actually ends.
Look Back
Movie, 2024, 1 ep Me:- Author:-
While not my favourite work from Fujimoto, this is still a great great manga, but honestly speaking, I wouldn't put it here, if I didn't think the director of flip flappers was a perfect match for adapting this guy's work.

Unlike some people, I did like the way chainsaw man went for a more realistic/cinematic angle with it's directing and thought it matched amazingly, but look back is a lot more surreal, specially the second half.

So a more experimental and brightly coloured visuals compliments it perfectly.

What excites me the most, is that this makes a "Goodbye Erie" adaptation all the more likely, and that manga is a masterpiece of a satoshi kon-esque movie just waiting to be created.
Shoushimin Series
TV, 2024, ? eps Me:- Author:-
for a lot of people, specially the kyoani appreciators, the fact that this is coming from the creator of Hyouka is enough of a sell on it's own to justify it being here.

But Then you add the director and composer of the promised neverland to the mix, and we might have a modern classic in the making.

And don't you dare be fooled by the shitness of tpn s2, you would be an idiot to think these two had anything to do with the issues with it. In fact I would argue the music and directing were the one of the only things that didn't suck ass in s2.
The One Piece
ONA, -, ? eps Me:- Author:-
Well there it is,

Wit is here to fix the literal biggest issue that has kept one piece's anime from being as beloved as the manga.

Honestly, this is such and obvious hit, that I forgot to add it until now (08/03/2024)

I honestly can't think of a single reason for why this wouldn't be absolutely amazing.
Kusuriya no Hitorigoto 2nd Season
TV, 2025, ? eps Me:- Author:-
Season 1 was here, and it more than delivered, which honestly, makes season 2 an even safer bet.
Tu Bian Yingxiong X
ONA, -, ? eps Me:- Author:-
Sometimes the presentation is so strong, that even if the story ends up sucking, it's still going to be remembered for years to come.

This shows visuals is not just good, it's making a fucking statement. The art style and dimensions shifting with a snap of the characters hand, and all of it being as dynamic and clean as you possibly get... I mean, a trailer doesn't necessarily reflect how the entire show looks, but that shit was arcane and spider verse level quality.

It's rare to me to be this confident in a project just for the production value, but I mean fucking look at it!! It's bloody gorgeous!
Eisen Flügel
Movie, -, 1 ep Me:- Author:-
A Gen Urobuchi story with the legend that was behind the original FMA (2003) directing and writing a screen play for it. The visuals in the trailer look incredible and Yuki Kajiura who did the soundtrack for Madoka magica, demon slayer, Case study of vanitas, princess principal, etc is doing the music for it.

It has all the odds in it's favour, bubble made me understand that this doesn't necessarily guarantee it being as good as you would think, BUT I am more than happy to take the odds.
Mahoutsukai no Yoru
Movie, -, 1 ep Me:- Author:-
Fate fans are finally getting a new piece of the nasuverse be adapted by ufotable, which has only led to greatness before, and there is no reason to believe that is going to change.

We don't have any staff announced yet, but the PVs look impressive even by Ufotable standards. Which makes sense considering how this is going to be a movie.
