Akudama Drive is a dystopian cyberpunk world with fun characters and good action similar to Edgerunners, but just don't expect the same level of emotional draw and quality as Edgerunners.

Both are gory and dark anime where nobody is safe. In both are young main character joins a gang of mercenaries/assassins that fight against the corrupt elites.

Hyper gory and sexual with a weak person getting something that makes them stand out in strength. Similar melancholic feeling endings.

As a hard sci-fi anime, Cyberpunk is actually a more edgy and darker version of Cowboy Bebop. Both shows are inspired by and reimagined Western sci-fi classics to show just how insidious and dangerous a world of ever-changing technology can be for humanity. Expect from both anime a fight of a truly good MC with a constant risk of drowning in cynicism and lack of integrity, criticism of the corporate mentality, as well as a good combination of action and light SoL elements.

Cyberpunk Edgerunners disappointed me in many ways, despite being very well animated. I didn't care much for the plot, music, and pacing of the show. I am always excited to see new content in the cyberpunk genre, but this was not my thing. If I ask myself what my favorite anime in the cyberpunk genre is, the answer is season 1 of Psycho-Pass. I have a lot of love for classic films like Akira and Ghost in the Shell, but Psycho-Pass is a near perfect psychological thriller that sets the bar for futuristic dystopian stories and anime villains. Psycho-Pass has an incredible soundtrack, story, and above

Although Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is based on a Western cyberpunk video game, this anime is clearly inspired by Akira, which is one of the defining film of Japanese cyberpunk. The characters in both anime are parts of gangs that trace their attitudes and behaviours on the Japanese punk subculture. You can finally watch a new cyberpunk anime that isn't a detective anime.

Both share stylish edgy visuals, storytelling and also lots of action as well too.

Vivy isn't a punk show, but both have futuristic worlds with cyber related dilemmas. Both shows are very heavy emotionally, especially towards the end.

Both shows start with the MC initially having a peaceful life until a girl who belongs to a criminal organization got the MC involved and dupes the MC. Despite all that the MC decided to join said criminal gang and the girl sort of become his love interest. Both are set in a lawless town where everyone does illegal things and there is a lot of action with gunfires, loads of killing and blood. However, Cyberpunk is way more edgier considering it have some adult content in this series. Cyberpunk also takes on a different direction halfway through its show as the MC of black

Both shows, however their format differs, belong to cyberpunk genre. Their story is set in a big, futuristic city. Everything is coated with beautiful visuals and animation.

Cyberpunk societies where most people are upgrading their body, with some pushing it to the limit and becoming almost fully mechanical. Both anime deal with criminal and military applications of these technologies. Top hackers play a major role in their stories, using their talents on machines and humans alike.

Aside from both being in a futuristic 'humanities-gone-to-shit' setting, this is mostly a VIBE reccomendation. Both center around themes of growing up, maturity, picking the 'bad' side and romantic elements that compliment all that. Cyberpunk is better though, I still haven't forgiven the ending of FranXX.

Episode 5 of FLCL was one of Imaishi's first directorial gigs, and FLCL is overall extremely similar to Edgerunners in tone and overall vibe.

Edamame (Great Pretender) and David (Cyberpunk) have been struggling to find purpose in a society that rejects them until an encounter with a con man and a cyberpunk changes everything. Danger. Money. Thrills. Entering a life of crime is easy, but surviving it and leaving it can be impossible. Cyberpunk is a more violent series than Great Pretender, which focuses on the inner turmoil of all the main characters.

both feature animation by studio trigger and lots of trippy chaos and action it as well too

As the same as guilty but worst OP ED OST and worst character development.

Similar vibe of fast-paced action and extreme visuals accentuating the distorted reality.

Rather standard crime dramas with a similar underdog setup + a sci-fi twist. Also, video game adaptations.

Blood. Gore. Chaos. Insanity. These four words are what I’d describe both Dorohedoro and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Both take place in insane settings with a healthy amount of chaos, and both have a group of oddballs (more so in Dorohedoro) as our main protagonists. However, Dorohedoro is somewhat lighter and more crazy than Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Regardless, it’s something that Edgerunners might be interested in.

Similar dark futuristic theme Both have great production Honestly, while No Guns Life "extends" a bit more Cyberpunk is best at its fast paced development

Can't go in depth due to spoilers but if you liked David, a lot of his characteristics appear in the series the further you go.

Both are mature shows set in a dystopian megacity which shows the struggles and dangers of body modifications and class struggles.

Both focus around characters who were thrust into crime and are fighting against a much powerful criminal group and of course dashes of romance in it as well too and lots of wild action.

both feature reluctant mcs caught up in a world of chaos in it

Both share an edgy and stylish animation, artstyle and also visuals too as well as a spunky female lead and also lots of gory action in it as well too.

Both shows are sci-fi series with stunning animation quality and visuals. Everything is accompanied with great direction, audio, and voice acting. Characters in both animes have unique designs and personalities differing from each other. Main cast consists of likeable characters, with each one of them having their own goals and dreams.

A colourful, fast anime filled with action and set in an urban environment. The main characters live in a crazy, criminal-ridden city with crimes occurring around every corner. The protagonist is a boy who obtained an implant to his body that gives him powers but will destroy his brain if he uses it too much. He uses this power to join a band of comrades.
