Synopsis

The Demon King has been defeated, and the victorious hero party returns home before disbanding. The four—mage Frieren, hero Himmel, priest Heiter, and warrior Eisen—reminisce about their decade-long journey as the moment to bid each other farewell arrives. But the passing of time is different for elves, thus Frieren witnesses her companions slowly pass away one by one.

Before his death, Heiter manages to foist a young human apprentice called Fern onto Frieren. Driven by the elf's passion for collecting a myriad of magic spells, the pair embarks on a seemingly aimless journey, revisiting the places that the heroes of yore had visited. Along their travels, Frieren slowly confronts her regrets of missed opportunities to form deeper bonds with her now-deceased comrades.

Preliminary (97/? eps)
- Story: 9/10
- Characters: 9/10
- Art : 6/10

As for the story, the first 5 volumes were a very slow grind as I didn't know what to expect. I knew it wasn't a battle shonen but given there are heroes and mages and no combat (at least no significant fights) it was difficult to digest what was going on. It didn't feel boring at all, just a slow, slice-of-life story of an ancient mage who beat the baddest of foes alongside her partners and now she just needs to move on and continue with her life. But... to my surprise, it gradually got incrementally better, my ...

Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (30/? eps)
At first the story was quite interesting. But the story after that It's pretty neutral and going to sea like "Fumetsu no Anata e". (I read about 30 - 40 chapters.)

Overall the art style isn't bad. As for the story of "sousou no frieren", I think there are better options and some modern shounen have a better perspective, such as "Chainsaw Man" and "Vanitas No Carte," which better present the characters' relationships and the context of the communication of love.

If you've ever played a game with long-lived elves. You'll feel indifferent, and the more you watch "Violet Evergarden," you might feel ...

This is my first review btw so enjoy

ALSO THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS

I want to keep it brief...... This manga feels like it keeps on repeating the same thing that happened with the characters over and over...... It looks touching and beautiful with pretty visual or art from the outside but it's just a facade an excuse for all those sluggish and lazy writing...... I can assure you that in these manga hardly anything happens it's just those type of series where literally nothing happens but still will be highly praised for pretty visuals and somewhat decent characters like we have literally seen this kind of ...
