Both are anime centered in non-human protagonists whose lifespans surpass the normal and in no hurry. Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou is really calm, and seeks its development in a desolated world, focusing on little friendships. Frieren is full of fights (yet sometimes calm) and most of the growth is connected with some new friends. There are also a lot of similar existential moments.

It showcases the lives of people who live virtually immortal lives and the bittersweet feelings of nonchalance as months and years, decades and centuries go by.
