Manga 78065 Koi To Uso Userrecs

Much like Koi to Uso, Sore wa Totsuzen, Unmei no Aite ga takes place in a world where the government decides marriage partners for people at a young age. Both stories also follow the daily lives of these teenagers. 

The government determines the fates of certain couples as a story plot device in both series. In essence, characters who reaches a certain age level are assigned a marriage partner and see if they are compatible. There's an experimental feeling with both series as we see through the life experiences of the couples. In general, an arranged marriage opens up characterization aspects as we see the ways the couple realize more about love. 

Koi to Uso and Sore wa Totsuzen are manga with settings of which government choose people's marriage partners based on a matching system. Both stories depict the trials and tribulations of one or few couples. However, while Sore wa Totsuzen is a story where couples found love through government matching, Koi to Uso is more of a story where the protagonists try to defy the government's decision.  

I read koi to uso today, and got a kuzu no honkai-esque feel from it. Quite similar, really. Koi to uso is subtler and less fucked up, but both kuzu no honkai and koi to uso are angsty and have elements of unrequited love. Pretty similar how the mc of both stories start to kind of develop feelings for their arranged partner/ fake lover (though it wasn't explicitly stated, so this is just inferred from how nejima and hanabi behave around lilina and mugi respectively) There are hints of same gender attraction in both stories too (ecchan and hanabi, nisaka and nejima). If I were to put the feelings I get from reading both, kuzu no honkai would be ramming pain down your throat while koi to uso would be slowly slowly building up pain and then just shattering it at the right moment.

It's actually crazy how many people didn't seem to see how similar this is to each other - these two shows depicts a scenario where they are selectively paired with each other - the main protagonists of these actually have pretty similar scenarios or situations
