The Rich God is a reincarnation/isekai series where the main character (who was a business oriented person in the modern world) reincarnates into Wang Ke of the Wang Family in the Shenzhou star solar system. Wang Ke's goal in his new life is to start a family business and grow it to great lengths in the primitive world but he is overshadowed by his biggest competitor and rival, the Nie family who impose tariffs and unfair disruptions to Wang Lin's operations since the Wang family don't have any powerful backers like they do. In spite of this Wang Ke decides to begin his journey in ... climbing the hierarchy of society by taking advantage of an opportunity to save a royal Princess and guarantee him a spot in a powerful immortal sect.

Story & Characters: 5/10
The part I enjoyed about this series was its comedy but it also became the worst part of the series. The Rich God is one of those series where the premise isn't set in stone although it lingers in the background; Wang Ke's objective becomes skewed once he begins to mingle in the Jianghu with demonic and righteous practitioners. It's better to say that there is no story and Wang Ke travels aimlessly with no real objective to achieve except to troll and sabotage characters he doesn't favor. This becomes a common theme and is repeated in cycles where Wang Ke meets a new character, he begins to deceive them, his deceit is caught but somehow he is saved from a higher power and continues to a new location with new characters. As such, the characters become the main focus of the series and it does well to create and maintain such a large amount of characters among the demonic and righteous sect; Their names and factions are memorable thanks to the comedic impact Wang Ke has on them. Overall, if you are watching in hopes of a good plot this series may not be for you but if you value comedy and character development this has it all. (Although whether the comedy is actually funny is another story)

Art & sound: 6/10
The art is fairly high quality and it should be for a series released in 2023. The characters are detailed and their textures appear very realistic by CGI standard even the main characters have their own hair physics. This series uses lighting and shadows to create depth between the character and the foreground which I was surprised to see for such a small audience. They use lighting techniques like rim light, key lighting and fill light especially on extreme close ups of character faces which is a lot for a simple comedy series. The scenes even have their own light bloom from the background where the light spills into the foreground. The animation could be improved especially in the fight scenes where the keyframing becomes obvious, the fast pace animations are snappy and lack velocity but it's passable.

Sound is okay, the quality is good and the use of music for suspense is there. The series uses upbeat music to help with comedy and it works perfectly especially with sound effects like build ups, bells and other sfx. Voice acting is good quality and the expressions are convincing enough for each character.

Overall & Enjoyment: 5/10
This series was an entertaining watch, it didn't feel like a chore to watch the next episode because of it's unpredictability but it would have been nice to see some more serious plot development throughout. It didn't progress much at all - in terms of story progress - so there was a feeling of unfulfillment by the end of the series. I'm expecting the second season to hopefully begin development on the Wang family business or at least the Tianlang sect Master assisting with Wang Ke's cultivation. I do think the series isn't befitting of its name since Wang Ke is neither rich nor a god lol. Overall, it's hard to discern whether it's worth watching since it has different focuses other than its story and world building elements.

"Honk...mimimimi. Honk...mimimimi." That's what you'll sound like as you inevitably fall asleep watching Konosuba 3. Yep, that's right, it's a big ol' snooooooze fest. Now I've never been a huge proponent of the show (gave season one and two a 6 and 7 respectively), but this season is falling flatter than Megumin. Yeah yeah, I know. The joke is low-hanging fruit, but that's exactly the reason I made it: to illustrate the fact that Konosuba's already trite and obvious gags have gone way past stale. In other words, it's time the show hangs em up.

Given that comedy is all that Konosuba consists of, said comedy ... needs to be good for the show to be anything less than a flop. Well have I got news for you: it's not good. In fact, it's pretty fucking shit-tastic. The comedy is a carbon copy of the previous two seasons, meaning it can't possibly be any better, only worse. Why? Diminishing marginal utility. Think about it: the first cookie you eat is an orgasmic experience. It sticks with you, it's riveting. A hypothetical second cookie, while still good, will never be as good as that first orgasmic cookie. At some point, let's say fifteen cookies down the line, you get to the point where you're sick of the taste, and you decide it's no longer worth eating that sixteenth cookie (assuming you're not a glutton). Or, if the cookie example doesn't resonate with you, think back to your first time shooting heroin. Has any high since recaptured the experience of the first? This is basic economics, people.

The same applies to Konosuba. The first Konosuba is good, the second is fine, but the third passes the point of being worth watching. By this point, the 2D characters (literally everyone is static) and inconsistent comedy sours to a point of being inedible. This is not to mention the nonexistent plot and uber-generic setting that do nothing to cushion the blow the show receives from the ever-weakening comedy. Given all this, I think it's best the show retires. Let it die a somewhat honorable death.

In a sea full of harem/fantasy shows (that have saturated the anime community), it's hard to pick out shows that are worth watching. With so many of the same generic shows, with the same plot (i.e., MC gets reincarnated, needs to save the world, is weak but becomes super OP by episode 2-3, then has a flock of girls fall in love with him for little to no reasons) and kirito clone MCs, you might think venturing into this genre is a waste of time.

For the most part, you're right. However, Yuusha ga Shinda! is a fun, entertaining harem/fantasy show, that doesn't suck as much ... as the rest of these types of shows. It does have some element of "saving the world" but it really isn't THAT central to the plot and I feel like the show focuses more on the relationships between the main cast more so than the plot itself. I'd say if you have nothing else to watch currently, then you should give this anime a shot. Now if you are a harem/fantasy type of person, this show is right down your alley (and is much better than a majority of these harem/fantasy shows out there!)

PROS:
- MC isn't afraid of characters of the opposite sex and actually acts like a male around females (shocker!)
- MC knows what he wants and isn't afraid to ask for it
- Plot isn't overly complicated; a little basic but there still is a story to follow
- There is a harem
- Girl cast is likeable
- Animation/art are both pretty good (you don't have to worry about that)
- Comedic moments that are somewhat funny
- Show doesn't try to be overly profound/deep and doesn't try to be something its not
- no extremely annoying characters

CONS:
- There is a harem (for those who dislike harems)
- basic/simple plot (if you're looking for a complex/deep story, this show isn't the show!)
- Show falls flat at certain moments
- no real meaningful development in relationship(s)
- comedy is kinda hit or miss at times

FINAL ANALYSIS:
If you're anything like me, you just want to know if a show is terrible or not and you just want that extra confirmation before you watch it. Let's be honest here, you probably saw this show from an IG reel or some social media and thought it looked interesting or maybe you're really into harem/fantasy. If either are the case, then I definitely recommended the show (despite with the MAL score or other reviews say). It's nothing mind-blowing or revolutionary, but it is somewhat a step above all the other lack luster shows out there. Sometimes you get that harem crave/itch and just want to find a quick show with a decent plot/MC/girls/art style and there's nothing wrong with that. From time to time, I get those cravings too and I believe that this show is one of those shows that will satisfy that craving.

The anime presents a classic romantic comedy plot with a twist, focusing on unrequited love and a protagonist who is refreshingly aware of his feelings. Initially, it promises a deep phycological exploration of relationships, akin to shows like "Oregairu". However, the execution falls short, with storyline becoming convoluted and the character development becoming inconsistent.

While the production quality is average, not detracting from the viewing experience, the animation is subpar. The sound design, particularly the use of music, is out of place and sometime jarring.

The direction and screenplay could have been more polished. The dialogue often feels forced, and the narrative suffers from pacing issues ... and a lack of coherent storytelling.

Despite its potential and some enjoyable moments, the anime seems to struggle with its identity, trying to be more than what it is and losing some of its audience early on. It is a series that might appeal to those looking for a psychological rom-com with a different take, but it may disappoint viewers expecting a more refined and consistent narrative.

In summary, while the anime has its moments and could have been a hidden gem, it ultimately doesn't quite live up to the expectations by its intriguing premise.

I’ll be honest, I’ve only seen 1 episode. I’m writing this review because while I was listening to the opening theme during ep 2, I noticed a strange noise 47 seconds into the opening. I don’t know if I’m right: but listen to this noise, then go listen to On Sight by Kanye West. What you may notice - and what I noticed - is that they’re THE EXACT SAME NOISE. 🤯🤯🤯

This show was made in 2017, On Sight was released on Yeezus in 2013…. What I’m trying to get at is that the makers of this show are obviously fans of Kanye west. Take ... that how you will. Me personally? I’ll be finishing the show in one sitting and giving it a 10/10 even if it’s trash.

For the contrast with another review here: This girls are toxic and utterly insane. I absolutely love them. A masterpiece of a dysfunctional group dynamic that drives the show making you crave for the next episode. The fights and bounding are the spirit of it.

For the animation, I got to say that is one of the best I have ever seen. The studio was able to make the CGI not a negative, but a positive for it, and I couldn't enjoy it more in any other way.

And the music, it rocks. The hype makes me spin in my chair.

This is an utterly perfect show for an incredibly specific niche. It pretends to make concessions to those outside that niche through flashiness and fanservice— but this is maybe halfhearted, because it's the writing that carries the day, and the writing pointedly does not explain itself to anyone outside its specific niche. That specific niche is people who already love Tsuburaya Productions in general, and Ultraman in specific.

The fact the characters themselves are constantly making references to Ultraman that go over a general audience's head is your primary warning that this is the case. That this is literally a sequel to a very Ultramanlike-but-not-literally-Ultraman ... Tsuburaya Productions show— which only the most hardcore of Ultraman fans are likely to be aware of— is going to be your secondary warning. Fortunately, you don't really need to know much about the original Gridman show. However, characters will say things like "If this were the Ultra series—", and the show will assume you have some ability to complete that thought on your own.

That said, I don't want to make this show sound like an utterly impenetrable sequence of in-jokes. Even if it's extremely in-jokey, it doesn't want "people who are in on the joke" to be an exclusive club. If you've watched and enjoyed even a single iteration of Ultraman, everything will be intelligible— the alien antagonist, the bizarre henshin sequence, the light that flashes on Gridman's head, the bizarre snaps back to the status quo, and, most importantly, the dry deadpan hilarity of many of the premises of the episodes and how heartwarming the finale manages to be despite that hilarity. I'll often take off a point from a show— or even rescind a recommendation— if I think it's otherwise excellent at what it's trying to do, but what it's trying to do is too difficult to understand for most people. This isn't that— this show just wants to do something fun and weird with your memories of enjoying tokusatsu shows like Ultraman. However, you need have to have SOME fond memories of tokusatsu shows like Ultraman first, and those aren't exactly being handed out for free.

SSSS.Gridman understands the absurdity of teenage ennui and escapism. It's essentially about putting weird tongue-in-cheek twists on that escapism and warn against its dangers, but without ever really being condescending about it, and without failing to celebrate the positives we also take away from that escapism. It does this by blending the archetypal Ultraman plot with a bizarre, awkward almost slice-of-life alternative to the human cast of an Ultraman story. The cast, as established, feels like they would fit better in almost anything other than a toku tribute. It then alternates between undermining and fulfilling toku expectations in a way that feels fresh and surprising right up until the end, and does it with an odd, dry-but-affectionate wit. The push-pull of undermining and fulfilling is what makes it work. This is not a show about how it would actually suck if Ultraman, or the things that happened in Ultra shows, were real. This is not a cynical deconstruction. There's enough in its premise that could've taken that route, but it doesn't. Instead, this feels like examination of the feelings of hopelessness and alienation that cause people to be fond of fundamentally hopeful characters like Ultraman— and an assertion of belief in the possibility of overcoming that alienation. It's a basically good-hearted show.

People love to treat Studio Trigger as successor to Gainax— SSSS.Gridman makes a stronger case for that than almost any other entry in their catalogue.

The story became much more confusing than it already was. You have people dying left and right and being revived left and right like it's no big deal at all 😂, but at the end of the day Anos fixes everything with his nightmare spell.

Firstly, the female teacher suddenly became a main character who was literally harassed by Anos in season 1, which implies that Anos literally has the power to change the hearts of people with his influence, and I would say that it really adds to his character's description of being insanely OP.

Secondly, what's with the dragon's CGI animation, it literally ... ruins the episode.

Personally, I think the whole selection judgement thing is a huge mess, like all the selected people have ulterior motives and are not trying to become a proxy out of good will which makes the whole system corrupted to the core. But then again, they wanted to create this situation so our MC can run this system out of business.

It's literally a jumbled up story where you enjoy every episode without knowing what the hell happened, but what you do know is that Anos won. And that is literally the main theme of this anime which it achieves quite well.

A show about losers who lose all of the time. Call it what you want, multiple opportunities presented themselves but they only existed to frustrate the viewer. The juice is not worth the squeeze; the fruit is dry as a desert. It's a show for masochists to drown in. Needlessly cruel with no release valve. You'll eat from the floor, if you eat at all. Episode 14, where I dropped it, is a perfect example. I didn't even need to watch the next episode to know exactly how it would play out.

Everything is set up for success, the art style, the score, the (Japanese) voice ... acting. The characters are dull and generic; I didn't want to know anything about them. I simply kept watching to see how far I could get before it became physically painful (14 eps) or if it would suddenly explode into the show it needed to become. If you like being strung along, forever waiting for that promised note, they never hit it in 14 episodes. Judging from the comments and review, it doesn't look like they ever do.

Wow what a nonsensical anime.

It starts off kinda funny. It distracts you with fanservice.
It drags on quit a bit, i kept waiting for the anime to just get to the point.
But it just devolves more and more into idiotic convoluted nonsense.
With a bunch of stupid characters acting in stupid ways.

A bunch of elements tossed and mashed together. Ghosts, time travel, military, robots,..yeah that sounds good on paper but you still have to write a good story around it with good characters.

This is full of a bunch of lame twists and lame characters.
With an annoying tonal shift.

This is going to be a short review, because there isn't much to say.

The story is extremely dull and generic, it would be so simple for a child to make the story, it could be summarized as 'demon that turns others into demons', that was 90% of what is relevant to the story. In addition to the story being weak, it is completely rhythmless and boring.

The 'powers', if I can put it like that, are extremely basic and generic too, there are no incredible mechanics or anything like that, not at least until the end of these first episodes.

The graphics are excellent, one of the ... best I've ever seen.

The characters are horrible, that's the worst part, it's almost impossible to like a character in this first part, none of them seem like someone 'normal' that would exist, the only one who can identify a little is Nezuko, who has an internal conflict of being an Oni but not wanting to devour humans, and showing up to fights at the right time.

The only reason I don't give this anime such a low rating is that at the very end, after about 18 episodes, a light begins to shine that will be cool, Zenitsu, despite being a 'coward', shows an instinct to never give up, Inosuke seeing so many strong people realizes that he is extremely weak, and begins to have a training arc path, this anime is only worth it, if you are willing to spend hours watching the horrible beginning.

God damn this is such a fun silly oddball of an anime. I followed it weekly and what a blast it has been, it brings a splash of silliness. The occasional serious moments but mostly a lot of shenanigans with a bunch of heartfelt character bonding moments and occasional development. The fleshing out of the plot through means of what felt like a simple silly blip ended up being a rather pivotal and jarringly horrific significance in the story telling.

I love *love* this anime, so far not a single moment has bored me yet and every single animation is amazing with it's interesting flare ... and stylistic drawing that makes it stand out from your typical anime. The charm of an RPG but not quite with the just in the dungeon flair is fascinating as it is blood curling as one later finds out...

🥹 I only hope next season won't be too far off... I absolutely adore the characters so far and the opening and ending is always such a blast to listen and watch from start to end...

This is all in all an absolute pleasure of an anime I adore and highly recommend to watch while eating (lol). I'm tempted to recreate some of the meals and eat it alongside the crew (I'm vegan though so it'll be veganised!)

A parody of the power rangers is up against generic evil organization. Completes with kids cheering them on and watching the "episode" of the battle on TV.

The twist here is that it's a rom-com between the red ranger and one of the princesses of evil corp. Also that they're both cinnamon buns. Since love in the workplace is against company policy (yes for both of them) they decided to date in secret and keep up appearances as nemesis.

Overall this was super cute and it had a few nice messages regarding a supportive relationship. The one super cringy aspect of it was the power ... ranger parody, that... that was painful. And I hate that they kept repeating the transformation sequence like it was sailor moon episode, it just hurt more and more each time.

Plot & writing = 7/10
Plot wise there really isn't much to this beyond the premise. A pure hero & girly villainess dating in secret and attempting to achieve the milestones of a normal relationship. I am giving it extra points however because instead of going for the low hanging fruit in a few scenes they decided to make the relationship a supportive one where each party respected the other's choices. That included the choice to make a few mistakes. It's something you don't often see in anime.

Art = 6/10
Honestly that was the show's one weakness. I wasn't really a fan of some of the choices made like the odd way the light hit the rangers clothes, I get that they are saying it's plasticky and shiny but that just looked bad. Also Desumi's weird eyes was... a choice. Not a good one but a choice.

Characters = 7/10
Nothing new here. As mentioned the mains are cinnamon buns and the sides are rather tropey in nature. It was all serviceable though without any standout be it good or bad.

Fun Factor= 7/10
This is a romance first and foremost. The premise of it happening inside a kids show (all behind the scenes) lent itself to comedy but did feel superfluous at times.

Overall = 7/10
This is a cute a show about a cute couple. The rest is all window dressing that lends itself to comedic moments.

Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi wo Suru is a story that I honestly started watching wanting not to like but in the end I feel that despite still having one or two things to complain about, this Romcom was very enjoyable to watch.

The story revolves around Kinoshita Akane, a 20-year-old university student who, after being dumped by her boyfriend, meets Yamada Akito, an 18-year-old high school student who, despite his cold appearance and distant behavior, ends up proving himself as a very kind person.

The premise is very simple and this type of story that involves a cold and often rude character but who in the ... end is someone very cute and misunderstood is something that initially made me create barriers to liking this anime, firstly because I don't like this trope and in secondly, the script seemed entirely based on a phrase that a friend of mine keeps saying and which is harsh but very real because according to him “the patience people will have with your unpleasant features is proportional to your level of beauty and/ or amount of money". Remove the beauty of the male protagonist and this story would be very different, but as it is a Romcom, I decided to ignore this aspect and saw that the romantic part was done in a very competent way and I really liked it, even though I still I had my friend's quote constantly playing in my head every time Yamada said something rude but somehow people ignored it. What saved this character for me was when I realized I could read the character into something he could be neurodivergent but I'll talk about that below.

Akane for some reason reminded me of Tohru's cute and desperate behavior from Fruits Basket, which in turn guaranteed my almost immediate sympathy. I actually wish the story showed more of Akane besides the romance part because apparently she has a social circle at college and I may have missed it but I don't remember seeing what she's studying. Overall, Akane is an enjoyable protagonist to follow.

Yamada improved a lot for me as a character when, apparently not just me, I started to interpret him as a neurodivergent person, probably on the autism spectrum, because it's easy to see how he stays hyper focused on the things he likes, has social difficulties due to a difficulty in interpreting other people's emotions and showing his own which makes him often hurt others as he cannot read the subtle hints that others give him, despite his gentle nature.

The secondary characters fulfill the supporting role well and don't steal much screen time, but when they do, they add a lot to the script, as happens in my opinion with the character Tsubaki Yukari.

In short, this anime managed to win me over even though I wanted not to because it is a story with a simple but well-executed structure and has characters that are pleasant to follow. Sometimes all we need is that: something simple and well done.

I started watching this on a whim after a hard days work and I was instantly hooked, and now after I've finished it two days later I am both blown away AND slightly disappointed. I am a fan of cyberpunk in general and I find the lore of the original role playing game quite interesting (though I've neither played it nor the recent video-game), so I enjoyed seeing the things I've read about "come to life", such as Arasaka, Max-tac, etc.

The story starts of incredibly strong, the first four episodes are amongst the top moments of anime I've ever experienced. Sadly the rest of ... the story can not quite hold on to what the first part promises, the story quickly devolves into endless action sequences (which aren't even that well animated), but the first four episodes plus the moments of quiet emotional poignancy really stuck with me. The ending moment of the story was perfectly executed and hit me straight in the feels, if they had botched that then my overall score would have been an 8, or possibly even a 7, but as it stands I have to give it a 9.

The suffering of being an innocent bystander in a country that loses a war is immesurable. All that sacrifice and pain. All those lives wasted for someone elses ambition. The enemies in war are very few compared to the many times more that get labeled as such. To fight through all that, to sacrifice so much and find nothing awaiting you at the end. In This Corner of the World is a somber reminder of how much is given on both sides of conflict. Evil only lives in those with the power to stop it and choose not to, before it's too late. Good only ... resides in those with the power to grasp what really matters.

On a rainy day like this, I finished this anime. And in this somewhat gloomy mood of exam revision and confinement, I fell under the spell of these 2 episodes. I fell in love with its atmosphere, its world, its musical universe, its artistic direction, its characters, its story. This Oav, an ode to the present moment, is a sweet love letter to serenity, quietude, the little moments of everyday life and the lightness of life.

This little haven of peace doesn't, I think, need deep stories or complex, convoluted plots. It doesn't need fight scenes or betrayals. Nor does it pretend to revolutionize anything. What's ... more, this Oav is to his manga what Position is to Kotonoba Drive. It's just a tiny part of what Hitoshi Ashinano's work has to offer.

This little audiovisual document, lost in the throes of time and in the galaxy that is the world of anime, is for me a little oasis of calm in which I can rest, thinking of nothing but the beauty of the world around me. A beauty all too often neglected to the detriment of our worries, problems and doubts.

This masterpiece made me realize something very special: time, however fleeting, must not prevent us from appreciating every second of our life here on earth.

I'm well aware that this is a work that is not very accessible to the general public. Many will see it as 50 minutes of emptiness. I grant you that there are too many of them. But for the rest of us, the others who are just looking for a little sweetness and ataraxia, I think I've found an anime for people like us. Thank you ajia-do for this moment of pure happiness and tranquility.

I quit Frieren: Beyond Journey's end because it failed to show me an interesting world of magic. It turned out to be surprisingly thoughtless and plain. So I thought, "Wait, wasn't there another show I liked with magic and deep relationships that has a new season?"

What's so refreshing about this story is that you can tell Kore Yamazaki is interested in both how magic works and how people work. As a result, the characters grow naturally. In other stories, if a character suddenly starts behaving differently, their decisions may feel out of character, only for the purpose of propelling the plot. In this story, the ... entire cast is truly motivated by their histories and their relationships. They are unmistakably the same people from the previous season, but you can see how their circumstances have truly influenced them.

Chise and Elias are constantly interrogating the story's initial premise (that one of them is the property of the other) as they talk to each other. Just as they think they know what role they fill in each other's lives, the other reveals some new desire or doubt. The are forced to renegotiate what their boundaries are again and again, but because they're each so understanding and inquisitive and patient, neither ever attempts to put the other in a box to contain and categorize them: they truly discover new things about their selves and each other.

These new discoveries about what they can ask of each other makes them genuinely, literally stronger and are tied directly to how they are able to overcome the obstacles in their way. Despite not being explicitly romantic, despite not having a typical "marriage", despite their insanely disparate backgrounds, the relationship of Chise and Elias is both a model for a deep and healthy friendship as well as being one of the most unique I've ever seen in an anime.

The cast is expanded at just the right time in this season. Because Chise has grown, she is able to relate to others in more complex ways. She is able to intuit who is open, who is instinctively guarded, who is fronting, who is wearing their pain on their sleeve. She learns herself what she'd been trying to teach Elias, tat people must be met where they are. That there's no one best way to deal with the baggage you have, and that sometimes people just need permission to do the things they already know they want to do.

I was not convinced I was going to like the new additions to the cast, and to be sure none of them have the immediately recognizable depth and mystery of Chise and Elias. Because the author is so interested in the grace and dignity inside of everyone, she is able to elevate even cliched stereotypes. At first you think, "Oh, here comes the shrinking violet that let's others do the talking for her," and "Oh, here comes the serious studious guy who thinks everyone else should serious and studious like him," and "Oh, here comes the hot-and-cold girl who think she has it worst and has no time for other people's insecurities." But after a few scenes of seeing them talk to each other and push against each of their weaknesses, including Chise, each of them push back and say something that perfectly justifies why they are the way they are. We don't get learn every detail about their lives, but we get the sense that the author knows those details and is using those to guide their behavior.

Chise has a uniquely miserable childhood, but even amongst the wealthy and privileged, we discover the truth: everybody has to answer to somebody. Everybody has to learn about authority, power dynamics, and what role they'll take to stay safe. Everybody has to learn that the role you've been given isn't the one you have to stay in.

Stunningly affecting and tender relationship dynamics aside, what I love about this show is that I do not know what's going to happen. A family of stylish, talking cats? An huge, evil super-centaur? A huge, pregnant super-soldier? A child crying and yelling about "her spiders?" Watching a main character's head split in half from the inside? The myths of the British Isles are used with such clever cavalierness that I'm never confused, only delighted when a new magical creature or concept is introduced. The action is a good balance of threatening and playful. This isn't a show with a lot of flashy violence, but our main characters do have to deal with the indelible fallout of their actions on some level, often internally, but sometimes externally.

Princess Rogue: Legend of the Last Labyrinth, feels like the very embodiment of an obscure 90s OVA- fun art, no manga or signs of continuation (at least at the time of this writing), and an abrupt ending with no real resolution to be had. It has its strong points, but fails to stand out in a lot of ways. Beginning with the story, a mysterious princess with ties to the supernatural literally falling out of the sky and into the protagonist's life is a solid if somewhat predictable base upon which to build a story. From here, it follows a generic but nonetheless serviceable path ... consisting of hijinks surrounding her memory loss, rival love interests, and drama with her otherworldly enemies coming to hunt her down. It proceeds in a typical, predictable fashion until the OVA just ends with a half-baked conclusion. The art is, by contrast, the strongest part of the anime, with gorgeous watercolor backgrounds and rich use of color. The animation is also smooth, and the character designs are striking if a little overcomplicated at times. However, one major drawback in this regard is the stylistic change between the first and second episodes- the first episode has a darker, more saturated look to it, with rich coloration and calmly paced animation. The second episode, meanwhile, has a much more neon hue, with a much lighter palate overall. The biggest problem with this is that Rouge's hair color changes completely, from a dark forest green, to an almost electric teal blue, with no mention or consideration of the change at all. The sound is fine, meeting all standards of quality for the time, though is generally unremarkable otherwise. The characters are also basically sufficient, serving their purpose as agents of the story, though they all feel just a little flat. Of them, the main couple in Mizuki and Rouge are the strongest, probably because they get the most screentime out of anybody and therefore the most time to develop, their interactions being fun and even realistic in certain ways. Overall, Princess Rouge: Legend of the Last Labyrinth is a pretty yet unremarkable entry into the annals of 90s OVAs. I didn't regret watching it, and it's not bad by any means, but it's not something strong enough to really maintain its own identity in a sea of similar titles.

If you're interested in this because you just want to watch a cute and sexy pink haired gyaru be cute and sexy then this is at least a 9/10.

However, the whole premise is baffling dumb and also causes the characters to be frequently thinking and sometimes actually getting NTRd. On top of that the main character, particularly his dialogue, is upsettingly stupid.

The side characters are pretty decent but you never meet any of their spouses and they rarely mention them which is immersion ruining.

It also easily could've ended with this season but in the last 5 minutes they leave it ambiguous and for a ... second season (which would have an even higher concentration of cute sexy gyaru so I'm down with that happening).

I have never played the game and started watching the anime without prior knowledge of AL's universe. So I am rating it solely as an anime.

Overall, I would say I enjoyed the animation with a lot of beautiful scenes and the sound/OST are also great.
Due to a lot of characters, there are also a lot of seiyuu, and I really enjoyed watching the anime in its original language with subs.

The plot is not bad at all, despite what I have read in the reviews from others who are well-known with AL's universe. I may not realize how deep the overall plot and idea ... of AL's universe are, but the anime could be a good starting point to delve deeper into it. I believe it would be hard to pack everything into 12 episodes, so there's nothing to blame on the adaptation. Consider this as an advertisement of the Azur Lane. Personally I'm satisfied with the plot development, as well as the underlying messages that it delivers throughout the series.

So I assume if you never played the game but heard quite often about this anime, and don't mind not seeing any male character during the whole series, you may give this anime a try.

And yeah, fanservice though.. it is also included. - "Cons?" - "Not a single one".

Once you get used to the CGI, and if you view the show with proper translations, it's not bad. The music is pretty good, but it doesnt quite fill the void that bocchi the rock left.

First few episodes I watched were with the AI automated subs, and was like wtf is this. Went back and watched it with more accurate translations, and the viewing experience improved. i think the MC can be at times a little annoying, but teenagers are often bratty and immature. the writing is a bit lazy, and characters are w/e, but im just here to ... see some people jam.

BTR left some big shoes to fill, and while this show falls short by every measure compared to BTR, it still landed better than i had thought. I think it's worth watching couple episodes, and if you can't get into it, then its nbd. not a big commitment. Once you accept the show's flaws and get used to the CGI, you'll find the show to be, at times, pretty charming and endearing.

This Chinese anime or Donghua as they call it is really good, but my only complain is that the names are throwing me off! I have to keep a separate wiki tab to see who is being referenced. (Only Emma is the name I remember from this season).
The only media with Chinese I follow is the Kingdom manga but they have separate Japanese names for everyone so it isn't that difficult to grasp.

Other than that, the duo main characters are really good and the concept of photo-diving is very unique, the cliff hangers every episode gave was nerve wrecking.

Highly recommended if you are diving for ... the first time into Chinese Animation, looking forward for Season 2!!

A 5.5 kind of a show. There's nothing especially bad about it, it's fine, but there's no real spark to it either. There's some degree of an illusion of depth to it with some tragic backstories sprinkled about and repeated (shock) betrayals which all somehow seem to work their way out, giving an illusion of progress. The creators evidentially got tired of trying to maintain the uncomfortable fatalism of the first few episodes and migrated to a slightly more upbeat but awkward dynamic. All very generic anime with fantasy characteristics really.

If you're looking for a power fantasy which has some of the aesthetics of misanthropy ... as dressing over a rather late blooming coming of age story about maladjusted but anime wholesome characters with lots of headpats then I guess you'd enjoy it... bit of a niche kink you've got there though. But hey I'm not judging.

All in, it's fine, if over done.

Story: A girl that has not been loved by anyone has neither friends, relatives or parents (dead) that want her in their lives.

So she gets thrown out on the streets and finally loses it, when she gets fired. She considers ending her miserable existence but gets saved by a Vampire.

Characters

The MC is quite awful sadly. She is a crossdresser, depressed and sadly as dumb as you can be. The Vampire uses her as nothing but a blood donor (and tells her that), yet MC falls head over heals for her kidnapper and possible future murderer... She has the worst case of Stockholm Syndrome and loves ... every second of it.

Ruka the Vampire is not very smart. Just like the MC, he constantly tries to figure out his feelings (the plot) and gets nowhere.

He ♥️loves magical girls♥️ though, so he gets a bonus point from me.

The other characters are all very generic and forgettable.

Sound

I hate the intro. It sounds AND LOOKS like a japanese idol boygroup made it. Awful! 😵‍💫

Thoughts: If you like twilight or the vampire diaries, give this a try. It is almost a copy, just with a crossdressing girl added to the mix.

Just a silly Power Rangers parody. At least that's what I treat it as.

Pugyuru's entire identity is being extremely strange and being full of absurd comedy that strives to make you laugh through how weird and unexpected the situations the characters go through are. If that's the kinda thing you could see yourself laughing at I think Pugyuru is totally worth a shot! Its whole runtime is like a little longer than your average anime episode so its no huge investment. It made me laugh with the stupid and nonsensical situations and made me say "what the fuck xD" multiple times so I think this anime did what it stood out to do. Cheko's stupid, never changing, face ... and amorphous nature is so funny xD

Technically the anime isn't impressive. The animation is pretty cheap and shitty but the voice acting is surprisingly solid. The voice actors expressive and silly voices really add to the absurdity of all these stupid gags in my opinion. The characters pretty shallow but I think that's fine. As long as they mesh well with the gags I think their one dimensional personalities can be forgiven. You don't go into a 3 minute long dumb gag anime for the deep characters anyway

If you like stupid, weird, shitposty humor I think this anime would be right up your alley! However if you don't like this kinda humor I could see some finding the nonsensical nature of this show off putting and rating it poorly. The anime isn't particularly special or innovative but I'm happy I had a little laugh with it. At the very least the absurdity of it all made me laugh more than some more traditional comedy anime, albeit with less substance to the actual show as a whole.

I was worried about this show since the Wiki page said that Ruti, Red's sister would become his lover. In the anime it is only hinted that Ruti wants to be something more than just Red's sister, but there is no explicit incest. Ruti is the weakest character in the series as she just felt like a Rei from Evangelion rip off. The show is strongest in it's relationship between the two adult characters Red and Rit (They need to get more creative with the names lmao). I would recommend this show if you wanted a cute slow another world romance with a little bit ... of action. The second season does get a little bit more interesting but sadly there is more Ruti in it. ALSO RIT AND RED DO GET MARRIED so it is not a will they, won't they THEY DO!!!

Honestly I found this anime extremely tedious to watch. After every bit of momentum the show gained, it immediately killed it with completely unnecessary filler. The same jokes are constantly reused to worse and worse effect, and the characters have no growth, constantly having to relearn lesson after lesson in every single match.

I have read that the manga is apparently better regarding the pacing, but have yet to be able to check it out for myself. The ordering of opponents throughout the tournaments was very odd, and felt quite anti-climactic but that might just be due to the pacing issues.

This is not the typical Sports Anime with serious ‘Let’s conquer the Nationals’ vibe or the hyper-focus athletic miraculous feats..
Although our main charas are talented, the anime is more comedic. It is silly goofy and funny.. much like watching a j-ent stand up comedy than watching a sports anime 🤣 which i think is the charm of the show.. tbh i got quite tired of serious sports anime like Blue Lock, got too competitive for me.. don’t get me wrong i enjoy those type of shows too but this is a welcomed change.

There is a certain list of names weebs are often bringing up, which also includes One, who is the author of 2 popular action anime. One of them hides behind the mask of parody, and this one tries to portray the emotional conflict of the main character. It's also worth noting that I had beef with the show because the studio squander the opportunity to name the sequels Mob Psycho 200 and 300.

Mob 100 Psycho starts off as a comedy and it tries to be funny, anime funny, with looney tunes sfx. But this type of comedy works if you are already high or yet ... to reach the puberty. After a few episodes, however, it changes focus to a character driven story with supernatural elements. Here Kageyama, the main character, tries to deal with his childhood trauma involving the use of his psychic abilities. And despite having them he refuses to rely on them in his daily life and instead strives to become better in other areas. And I will admit that the anime does a pretty good job executing it, but it could've been even better if it had committed to this concept from start to finish. Unfortunately, the seriousness of the theme is dampened by aforementioned comedy sequences, and quirky character design that reminds me of some fucking one piece. In latest episodes Kageyama completely dumps the idea of not using his power and starts showing it off left and right. It happens in the latest arc featuring the most creative plot premise never done by any media before: fighting an evil organization whose goal... what was that, ah... to conquer the world. I don't know how long it took for One to come up with it. Ultimately, the quality of the story can be compared to a man balancing on a fishing line. He takes few steps, accidentally sneezes, falls down, and breaks his neck.

The animation is good that it would easily make up for the story, but in the current state it rather makes up for the art style. A unique art style is a good idea only in case if I don't have to question myself if a palm larger than a head is deliberate artistic choice or some one fucked up the human proportions. The ost is good but only few tracks are memorable. The opening and ending are amazing, though, they have outstanding visuals, banger songs, and they also perfectly fit the show.

Mob Psycho 100 features lots of fighting scenes and the intrapersonal struggles of Kageyama, and both of them are at odds because fighting is against his original motivation. The world building doesn't help either, given that every year several shows reuse the same concept so it's gradually becoming oversaturated. The modern world with demons where no country but Japan is present, the chosen ones with some supernatural abilities are the only ones who can slay them, and in the end the conflict between wielders and demons changes to wielders versus wielders.

Hiroyuki Sawano literally wrapped this movie in a nice wrap of banger music so i cant rate it below 8 lol.

It got some tiny bit character drama and development but mostly on Ikoma and Mumei. cuz duh they are the main focus after all.

I LOVE THE ANIMATION QUALITY, they know when to show off the details in fast moving scenes. Some moments were so good i have to rewind a few times just to make sure i did see it right the first time.

It got that "so many things happening at once but wont overwhelm you" type of pacing, well done.

The anime brought up some common moral dillemma with discrimination and how the general public is so easily driven by fear mostly and how our main characters react to it is the main attractiveness of the show which i love when i see it happens.

I would love to see more anime to ... have art style like this anime, it felt timeless, detailed, and beautiful at the same time compared to what we have in the recent years.

The animation are great, and the hype given by the doxa allows studios to achieve that.

The shittiest thing I've ever watched in my life. The ironic part was that fans of this shit were saying that this shit was better written than things like Death Note or even Berserk. I'm calling out to those freak fans here, I hope you die. Comparing a shitty Ecchi harem anime with classic cult productions and glorifying this shit as if that wasn't enough is nothing short of an insult. Just to show my hatred for this shit, I increased the score of everything I gave 1 to 2 because nothing deserves the same score as this shit, no matter how bad it is. ... So every anime coming here will have a minimum score of 2 except this shit. Also, for the freaks who will say Read the LN, saying this won't change anything, so shut up and throw yourself out the window.

‘Chillin’ in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers’ is one of many anime this season that I've already read as a manga. Only I had forgotten about it here until I saw the first episodes of the anime.

Guy wakes up in new world, everyone thinks he's weak, kicks him out, he's strong after all. And conflicts because different powers, not knowing that some of them did him wrong, wanted to recruit him.

The plot of this series is summarised very quickly because it doesn't say anything. That doesn't necessarily make the anime bad, I've at least found the 6 episodes so far ok. If ... it wasn't for the catastrophic quality of the animation and voice acting.

When it comes to the animations, you quickly realise that they've cut corners here and tried to avoid CGI at the same time. Even though I welcome the lack of CGI, there are some of the most poorly directed animations here, where, for example, a tracking shot is repeated 5 times (see episode 4).

The voices of some of the characters, especially the female semi-protagonist Fenris, sound like someone has put a bloody awful filter over them. At least for the first few episodes, it was really annoying, but after that I didn't listen to it that often.

Reminds me a lot of Food Wars in terms of plot and animation, with a mix of the aloof superhuman trope like Helck and One-Punch Man.

Nothing particular to say about characters, world building, or music; they're serviceable (except OP2, that's a banger of a song). Mash is a real meathead with some real meat in his guns.
One thing I dislike is the recap at the start of almost every episode. The recap clip episode was really unnecessary.

That said, so far I've watched the released two seasons; don't expect anything deep or high-stake, but do stick around for some light-hearted fun if you're in mood ... for a shonen parody anime.

This show is one of the most overrated shows in recent times but as I saw, many people are picking different reasoning for it than me...

First, I don't care about that "good quality stuff" cringe, which is still cringe but you can feel like teen girl watching her favorite duo doing weird things. It's something you usually expect in romcoms.

But there are different reasons, why this anime is bad (and I am basically giving it points just for the animation and some idea at the start of the story).

First reason - character development. There are pieces, that don't have character development or have small ... one. It's often boring, because you are watching multiple episodes/seasons of characters behaving literally the same way, not learning from their mistakes and just doing stupid things. But here is something I would call a reversed character development. Multiple characters not only that they don't learn from their mistakes but even creating more stupid scenarios based on their behavior. And it's not "annoying" in that positive way but rather in negative one.

Second reason - toxic and abusive relationships. Sorry, it's romcom, you usally expect something sweet or something interesting or something what you can learn from. What is this story about once more, please? About abusive relationships? That's right! There are multiple characters either having romantic or friendly toxic relationship between each other. And not only it's annoying, it gives you a thought "Does creator really think this is alright?", because most of the anime it looks like it's something that creator wants to defend for any cost. To me, it really isn't alright to show multiple psychically abusive relationships, with many red flags and something you should avoid IRL. Where is exactly fun in that?

Third reason - unrealistic as much as it can be. Again, I know it's a romcom, some of them are really far from something realistic, some of them have actually pretty realistic story, feelings, etc... But this is as far from reality as possible. Doesn't matter whether you pick a sister of one of the main characters or their friends or base of their relationship - everything is unbelieveable. During entire anime you have even some random encounters with other characters or random events which basically don't make sense at all, because they don't fit into the story and not even characters seem conflicted about them. They disappear and all characters are like "oh, nothing happened, i don't remember last X hours".

So, in my conclusion. You have some romcom based on toxic and psychically abusive relationships, story is basically non-existent, character development is rather reversed if something and final episodes aren't even worth finishing the anime. As nice as it was in like first 1-2 episodes, it went straight to the hell with everything. Music is average at best and I can really give points just for the animation and some starting idea. Because the rest of the anime definitely can't be enjoyed by person who likes either romcoms, romantic topic in general, at least basic story or some logical chain of events with satisfying ending. And since the first episodes are something totally different from the rest of it, I wouldn't hold back to call this a trap anime.

The only reason this show isn't a 1 score off the bat is because there were some redeeming scenes where the artwork / music was fitting/beautiful. If it weren't for that , this would be a 1 episode drop. The main character is just another typical little boy. The main girl is just ratchet, she looked interesting before watching the show , but after delving deeper into the show it's just not worth continuing this series as there is just no value. If a show doesn't have story the characters should compensate for it, which this show doesn't. If characters + story is not there ... there should be comedy or entertainment value which again, this show was not funny/ rather dull , nothing different to expect each episode.

Characters are just too weak/simple. There is no suspense/thrill when watching the show, no point spending hours to finish the series when nothing to look forward to. Stronger Characters + psychological component of mystery + better animations would make this show higher up there.

Show would be fun to watch for middle schoolers , not deep enough when it comes to survival type anime. Nothing to see here, pass. Too predictable and the art style is not appealing to the eyes. Didn't like how the main character acted as well right off the bat in the start of the show. Needs more. Lacking. Much better ... shows out there in similar genre/action.

This show offers the perfect solution to bullying:

Find a boy who has the power to control time, have him give you horny magical girl powers so you can beat up some bullies, give him your scarf which in turn makes him disappear, and time rewind to a point where no one around you is being bullied.

This show doesn't have subs, and is only available on bilibili, so It was pretty hard to tell what was going on, but it was still a fun watch, especially for the incredibly jarring horny camera angle of the latex clad magical girl.

Ever had a knee jerk reaction just from a show's opening?

That's Taishou for me. A story about a sad boy being sad and the /manic pixie/ dream girl that "saves" him. I grew up in the 90s and early 2000s. This genre was practically invited back then and it completely saturated the market back in the day. I guess Japan, like Disney, really is 20 years behind trends...

Now the catch here is that she's a granny. Nope, that's it. Think of the ideal grandma, the sweet one that does all the housework perfectly, makes the best food and can sew. Yeah, now place ... her in a childlike body and you have this show. Because heaven forbid we don't infantilize women. Sorta made worse by having the boy practically tower over her, I get that tall = handsome is most Otome stories but this just looks like a pedo entrapment show!

The rest is what you'd expect from this kind of story really. /manic/ is loved by all from the start, super happy all the time even when it makes no sense for her to be and she saves sad boy by bringing him out of his shell. In return sad boy is handsome, super tall, rich, gets good grades and is the author's ideal only with better hair.

And here is the issue I have with this trope. The characters are empty. Sad Boy usually feels more real since we get his inner monologue in stories like this but Manic doesn't really have her own identity, she is whatever will make sad boy happy (bra size included!). It makes sense that she was "bought" for him now doesn't it... By the way I find it problematic that this premise is ok in this day and age. It's a common one is BL to force the couple together but in a supposed romantic show??? There is some lip service paid towards this but that's all it amounts to, lip service.

It gets a few points since some of the situations are cute. Also the old timey 1920s aesthetic is charming and does work with manic's grandma persona. Over all it's not too bad but if you're not into this specific trope then you won't like it.

So, I have to be completely honest...I don't know how this has a rating of 6.8 right now. Maybe most of these review scores were after the first 2 episodes or something when the self-narration seemed appropriate and was tolerable. Now on episode #6, Rou is still just giving us a daily play-by-play of who he killed, what gear he found, which powers he absorbed, how many women he drugged and raped and which of them are now in love with him.
To be clear, I have a huge problem with SA in real life, but don't really have any issue with it being ... in anime as long as there's a need for it in the story. Case in point, I feel the SA that happened in episode 1 of Goblin Slayer was 100% necessary to portray just how vile goblins are and just how broken Goblin Slayer is in his head. Even Redo of Healer was understandable seeing as he's undergoing and eye for an eye revenge arc. However, the rape in Re:Monster is just...appalling. He drugs and rapes women of other species and they immediately fall in love with him. This last one actually begged him not to take her virginity. This is not to even mention the fact that he's around 8-10 feet tall at this point and one can only assume he either has an 18" dick or is horribly disproportionate. So, are all these women massive sluts that like horse dick? Or was one of the powers he absorbed Luffys ability to control the length of body parts at will? If this was a hentai, all of this would be completely par for the course. But, it's not. The worst part about the rape is that it's completely contradictory to the way he handled the initial batch of female prisoners brought in by the older generation of goblins. He absolutely forbid anyone from defiling them only to turn around and immediately start raping all new prisoners. It just makes no sense. It could have made sense in a "I'm losing the battle with the monster in me" type of way, but every female in the cave loves him before and after being raped..so that's definitely not what the mangaka was going for.

Long story short, this anime is trash and since it's an accurate retelling of the manga...the manga is trash as well. Im a huge proponent of "just because you don't like something, it doesn't mean other people dont"l," but I honestly don't see how anyone can like this garbage. Even without the rape the way the story is told through daily updates is horribly trite and boring.

That is the biggest troll an anime has ever done!!
And even though the show was funny and a big troll in his own right, I'm not meaning that.
Even though my score for this entire show (even the other seasons) is 7/10 if you enjoy sarcastic human more than I do (and I know a lot of you are), you will love this anime.
The humor is clever and it doesn't miss, the best thing I could say about this show is that I had a lot of fun.

Now for the troll, the obvious troll for the people who watched the show.

That information shows that for this season there are 120 episodes instead of 24

At first I was confused (and maybe some of you are as well) because I watched this show on Netflix and they a lot of the time miss episodes of anime.
So I checked on Wikipedia, and it shows the same 120 episodes instead of 24.
At this point I was nervous because ain't no way I'm watching another 100 episodes I didn't sign up for this.
So I checked in the pirated sites I watched anime in usually or in the past, "aniwatch" (also known as "Zoro"), "9anime", "4anime"... and they all showed that this season has 24 episodes.

Before that of course I had my suspicions that this is a troll but now I'm absolutely sure, this is the biggest troll anime has ever done.
The creators of this show fooled both MAL and Wikipedia and the people who checked on those sites how many episodes is this show.
This is a troll better than the second season of Oreimo when they fooled all the (older then me) anime viewers to think Oreimo was not an insect anime (I dodged a bullet with that one).
The creators were like "if you're not committed then we don't want you to watch our shit" lol. That troll is exactly why I like this show and exactly why you should watch it the people making it clearly have a good sense of humor. I hope MAL will never fix this error
