Very high priority in both titles is loyality, trust and naming Nakama, main characters are near to each other. Very important is that, the both are just comedies. One of non-many differences is that the OP is about pirates and FT is about mages :)

Personally i'm a huge OP fan since more than a decade and i have to say that it took me a while before actually giving a try to HxH 'cuz i wasn't sure if i would've liked it.. But. Woah against my expectations i really did like it more than i thought! Truth is that after i gave it a try, i couldn't stop watching it. The more i was seeing it and the more it was giving me the same feeling that OP gives me. They have the same vibe and have the power to let you enjoyed more and more, this way your

Both are great shounen series with "fight for nakamas" plot, and goals characters have made their mind to accomplish. Also it looks like naruto somewhat resembles Luffy. If you enjoyed Naruto, I'm sure you will find One Piece amazing.

Gotta love the slapstick comedy. ^_^ One Piece has more of a story whereas Gintama is just comedic, but both very funny and enjoyable.

Both series are primarily light-hearted adventure-series, but they also both have some pretty serious moments. (Though in Dragonball, they're mostly in the last third of the series.) One Piece is also partially inspired by Dragonball.

Toriko and One Piece share a massive world which is build up brilliantly. Both feature a great cast of shounen characters that develop strongly throughout the series in a series of adventures and missions.

Main characters are similar, lots of action, fighting and comedy. Both series place importance on teamwork and friendship. Interesting character designs, same animation studio.

-Both MCs are idiotic, have similar goals (pirate/magic king) and refuse to give up no matter how bad the situation is -Both animes are all about friendship and rivalries -Both MCs have unusual/rare powers/abilities.

Both of the anime series have a character that isn't the brightest of the bunch as the lead, and they both feature similar themes of being friends with each other, and rescuing one another from harm. Another very similar trait that they share is dreams, while Naruto wants to become the Hokage and Sasuke wants to become powerful enough to defeat Itachi, Luffy wants to become the Pirate King, and members of his crew share amibitions. One Piece is a must-see and by far one of the best shonen anime out there.

Just as One Piece,Hunter x hunter is a pretty long shounen anime, both series can be really funny at times ,you will never get bored and always want to see the next episode, both anime have some awesome fights and also the characters are very likable,if you enjoy one of this anime you will most probably like the other one too.

Both are motivational shonen series. One Piece tends to have stronger antagonists and the conflicts tend to be more epic, while Boku no Hero Academia has far better animation and is much more focused.

Shonen anime....both about the main character wanting to protect their friends/nakama. In order to do that they strive to become stronger and learn from others.

Both of these series can be very serious and very funny at times. They give off similar vibes about never giving up and how important friendship is.

They're both about friendship. There are also people with special abilities (Power Users in TLoU and those who ate the Devil's Fruit in OP). These animes are both shounen and main character is a little (maybe more than little) stupid. Later in both animes the main characters form a 5-man team. They are also similar in some ways: Ueki -> Luffy (stupid, brave, friendly) ; Sano -> Zoro (strong, manly) ; Hideyoshi -> Usopp (liars, weak in combat) ; Mori -> Nami (not very strong in combat girls) ; Chopper -> Tenko.

They are both about a long journey to accomplish a certain goal. And both have long stroy arcs. And the characters in both anime have sad background stories.
report Recommended by dest-roy96
Both of them are long shounen series with the major themes of growth, friendship, teamwork, and loyalty. The main characters seem to be immature and irresponsible at first, but when the right time comes, they turn out to be badass. While one of them aspires to be the pirate king and collects crew mates, the other heads toward being a leader in an infamous branch of the mafia and increases the size of his "family." As more episodes go by, the series and characters grow to become more mature and serious; the series start off kind of slow and overly immature, but once they get

Both are great shonen series.of the best. Friendship,Loyalty,Courage are really important. Also they say that you have to fight for your dreams. And the Gurren Brigade has somehow the same feeling as Luffy's crew x]

So basically just watch the god damm anime trust me if you like good writing mc and sides, power diversity, good villians fullmetal is for you, maybe if you like scary and creppy background fullmetal got it too because there is a lot of insane people in that show , the villians are so great that you going to love them and hate other ones.

Both anime focuses on searching for friends/teammates ("nakama") while going on variety of adventures and each character has a unique personality as well as abilities that makes them strong and reputable, meeting different people and constantly being chased by the law enforcements in the story. Ultimately, the protagonist and his friends hope to obtain their goal.

When I first started watching One Piece I thought "wow, this is like a mixture between DragonBall and Pokemon." - main characters are similar (kinda slow, don't give up, their hats, their hopes & dreams) - strong theme of friendship, dreams and never giving up - similar art style and very similar music - lots of travelling and seeing new places - each new crew member in One Piece is like a new Pokemon or team mate is Pokemon If you like Pokemon you will hopefully like One Piece and vice versa

Both have similar themes of friendship and adventure. They travel to different locations with their own cultures and both have a strong sense of exploration with friends.

Both have great world building and a large caste of characters. Both have two main factions that have conflicted members that you can root for. Both main characters are in search of a mysterious MacGuffin (the Radiant=the One Piece) where the journey is more important than the destination. Both worlds feature traveling to islands in a vast expanse on unique ships. They share a charming sense of adventure and mystery that keeps you wondering what the next step in the journey is and who the new interesting characters you'll meet along the way. I see Radiant becoming a lot like One Piece one day if it

1.both are shounen, adventure, action, fantasy and comedy series. 2. both happen in an imaginary alternate universe. 3. both animes start with a journey. 4. luffy want to be the king of pirates, sindbad want to become the king of the country he want to make. nonetheless both want to be kings. 5. both protagonist gather friends/nakamas during their journeys. 6. in both the main character and his friend travel over the seas and visit many places. overall i think the adventure lovers will love both.

Replace "Friendship" with "Oppai" and "Pirate King" with "Harem King", and this is essentially a similar kind of shounen anime but with fan service.

If I were to describe Haikyuu!! in a single sentence to a friend, I'd call it the One Piece of Sports anime. Everyone knows One Piece. One Piece is an action anime that revolves around a no-name pirate who dreams big, makes an impact will not falter in his goal, has friends/crewmates who argue and get into funny situations (and pull hilarious faces) and much more in a epic story with some rivals and villains that you can't help but love because each character is so unique. And that also describes Haikyuu!! pretty well, too. Just replace "action" with "volleyball", "no-name pirate" with "short guy

While they are two very different anime at a first glance, both are incredibly similar in characters. Both share quite a large group of protagonists who go on the same journey to achieve different goals and find themselves, often with relatable backstories along the way. Both crews are known for the chemistry between each other, the constant comedy of each character and "nakama" aspect of friendship that are as close as family, if not more. One group aims to become great idols, while the other aims to become great pirates. Some characters are very identical, especially both protagonists (Luffy and Honoka) who are airheads that lead the

I am actually surprised that no one have recommended One Piece to people who liked Shingeki no Kyojin! One Piece and SNK are very similar, despite the difference in pacing, amount of tough violence, number of episodes and overall tone. The story of the two are about accepting the world, beating the unbeatable opponents and taking care of your loved ones. As tough as SNK is, it has always been about the dreams of those characters, their struggle to live and succeed, to be the "best worst generation", something that One Piece is always so good at! I've actually started watching One Piece after I've watched 2

These series both have very detailed fantasy worlds that pull you in. They're also the best ongoing shounen manga right now. One piece is still better, it's got a lot more content which helps with character development and world building.

They both have the same brand of humor. Additionally, both can draw you into the emotional moments of the story. Luffy is on a quest to become King of the Pirates, Ippo is on a quest to become stronger (aka, win the world feather weight championship). The composition, the mix of humor and seriousness, is the same. It doesn't really have similar setting and world , but that feeling you get from both anime are the same. Both are as great of a shonen series as the other.

This might seem surprising, but there are a lot you will find in Xros Wars that you find from One Piece. For example, some parts in Xros Wars might seem really cheesy or lame, but there are parts give you a heartfelt feeling similar to what could be found in One Piece vice versa.

If like me, you're a fan of Roronoa Zoro and the epic sword battles that take place in 'One Piece' then I would definitely recommend that you watch 'Samurai Champloo'. In addition to one of the characters (Mugan) being voiced by the same actor as Zoro, the swordplay and personalities in Samurai Champloo make it a great watch from start to finish.

Both are shounen anime involving both comedy and action where bonds between nakama are really important.

Both series tells about a adventure around the world (from Japan to Egypt in JoJo and from East Blue to Raftel in One Piece). Similiar fightinig abilities and the main characters have both a funny grandpa who has a lot great fights in the past. And in main crew of both are a Frenchman who is nice to ladies.

Great action, funny, awesome fight scenes. Overpowerd characters, cool attacks etc. And if you're liking the animation in One piece, try One punch man. In my opinion One punch man has the best animation i've ever seen. One punch man is a much shorter serie, it doesnt have as good as a story as one punch man. Not as great as character development as one piece does. BUT, one piece is one of a kind. No serie out there that I've seen comes near the adventureous and unique story of one piece. So dont try too hard finding a serie that does. Try

The theme of honor is quite frequent in both series, treated by warriors, both swordsmen and giant Vikings. Even the latter believe in the god Elbaf, whom they pray before the battles, in their own "little garden" arch.

very handsome protagonist against the the forces of evil and defying the odds even when outnumbered and underleveled, they can get away with their OP power being the magic book for lighto and his streching arm for luffy (the streching boy)

-Both have main characters that are very good at what they do -However neither of these characters is the best yet, and their few losses greatly impact the plot -Both of them feature a considerable amount of fanservice that manages to not feel forced and flows naturally -Both of them focus on the bonds between your team mates overcoming an impossible wall (Polar Star Dorm vs Central/Straw Hat Pirates vs literally everyone) -Neither of them have the buildup like other shonen. Characters are very strong to begin with and are presented with increasingly strong enemies to push them farther. However, it is executed in a way that makes it

Arslan Senki and One Piece are both incredible stories of a boy who sets out on an amazing adventure in order to become king and gain freedom. Both main protagonists are able to gain many followers as well as strong and loyal nakama to accompany them due there unique personalities. Both anime have a great contrast of humor as well as great seriousness that go well together. To anyone who likes One Piece you will definitely enjoy Arslan Senki the two anime are incredibly different but if 1 appeals to you the other is sure to do the same.

>Both MC's have a specific goal in mind, for their own gain >Both have a number of challenges to do until they reach their goal (Islands for OP, floors for TOG) >Both have no way of telling when it will end (There could be infinite floors of the tower/islands) >Both are ongoing The differences lie in how TOG is much darker and has so far shown a much faster pace than OP.

I've found that pirate anime are hard to come by. OP focuses pretty much solely on pirates, but if you've been craving some more, AnY has an arc that is solely based around pirates. Chosen family is also very present in both series, and the mains will do anything to protect their friends. Occasionally allies are left behind, but they tend to be referenced and you get the feeling that they'll be back.

Adventures of a wanted outlaw team against many dangerous villains, in a fantasy world, where there are many monsters and strange creatures, but also a lot of different powers: Akame ga Kill!'s "imperial arms" are like the "devil fruits"' powers.

Tatsumi Oga is a delinquent and carries around a naked Demon Baby, whereas Luffy is a rookie pirate that's aiming to be the Pirate King. Sure... there's a large difference, but both are very comedic and there is action in both animes. :)

Both shows deliver tragic events for the characters to face with their strong bonds of friendship to pull them through and the excessive use of the term "Nakama"

Very similar (silly) humor and comedy, and overall similar style. Also, somehow the character designs are alike, especially the crazy facial expressions, large mouths, etc.

I haven’t watched the entire series. But it got the same pirate theme as One Piece. A bit more serious, tho. So, due the rarity of pirate-themed anime, I would like to recommend this anime.

Both are shounen action anime with carefree and independent main characters who nevertheless have a strong loyalty to their friends. Also I found much of the humor in both to be more situational and less slapstick than in your typical shounen genre show (though each definitely has it's share of both types.)

Leadership is a very difficult thing. Someone says you can’t learn it but only gain from God. For Luffy and Tylor it's absolutely true. Main screen time they acting like fools without realizing what’s really going on, but when time comes they somehow managing to turn everything for their own benefit. Two desperate heaven-born captains definitely put these series together. If One Piece’s length and Captain Tylor’s release date doesn’t scary you go ahead and watch them. You won’t be disappointed because a great comedy is a one more reason to unite these series.
