Synopsis

Mitsuha Miyamizu, a high school girl, yearns to live the life of a boy in the bustling city of Tokyo—a dream that stands in stark contrast to her present life in the countryside. Meanwhile in the city, Taki Tachibana lives a busy life as a high school student while juggling his part-time job and hopes for a future in architecture.

One day, Mitsuha awakens in a room that is not her own and suddenly finds herself living the dream life in Tokyo—but in Taki's body! Elsewhere, Taki finds himself living Mitsuha's life in the humble countryside. In pursuit of an answer to this strange phenomenon, they begin to search for one another.

Kimi no Na wa. revolves around Mitsuha and Taki's actions, which begin to have a dramatic impact on each other's lives, weaving them into a fabric held together by fate and circumstance.

This review is for Kimi no Na wa, or Your Name.

Summary:
Your Name is a fantastical story of friendship and romance with a profound plot twist. The film has absolutely stunning art and a beautiful soundtrack. Overall, the characters are compelling and interesting, and the adventure they experience makes the story even more interesting than the romance. I recommend this film for its beautiful art and soundtrack. In my opinion, this is the best of Makoto Shinkai's works, and I suggest watching this before his others.

After seeing many Makoto Shinkai works, this one didn't hit as hard. Character lacked depth and thr story felt bland. Of course animation was amazing, as you would expect, but the film was underwhelming at best.

The plot was pretty predictable and due to the nature of the phenomenom in the film, the romance was not as good as his other works. For the hype this had built up by the time I watched it, it really disappointed me to see the same-old plotline we've seen in every other one of his films. The ending was done well I must admit and combined ...

Your Name is a romantic drama anime about two strangers who magically switch bodies and must navigate their unfamiliar life for a few days without being able to share what is going on. However, they ultimately manage to find one another and form a unique and heartwarming bond. While the plot is unique and interesting, the execution leaves quite a bit to be desired. The pacing is quite sluggish, and the dialogue and storytelling feel quite flat and dull at times. Plus, the animation is nothing to write home about.

Despite having a unique and intriguing premise, I would not recommend Your Name. to those looking ...
